IC: Artemis was frustrated. Every day and night she had to wake up to the same thing; not knowing what she was supposed to do with her life. She would never allow anyone to know what she was thinking or how she was feeling, but those were the emotions conflicting within her. Artemis knew that her siblings seperated from the others, only because two out of the four of them wouldn't get along with one or the other. Her it was Apollo and Athena. They were always so optimistic it made her sick. Ares was alright to deal with, though all he cared about was fighting and getting stronger. She was thankful she could go her own way and learn things on her own. She had found out a lot about herself within the past hundred years or so, especially swimming Mis knew that swimming was not a particular thing gryphons were fond of. In fact, her siblings hated to go near water unless they needed a drink. But she always enjoyed it and always ignored their surprised looks and gossip. Instead she had a deep pool with a waterfall flowing into it Mis always enjoyed soaking in. A faint mist shimmered in the sunlight between the trees, causing the light to shift and shimmer around her. The cooling vapor settled on her elven form's skin, reminding her of her home to the west, along the shore. She closed her eyes as the day drifted past her. It was good to relax sometimes. Her thirst awoke her. Ecco headed to the nearby stream and drank quickly, enjoying the cool, refreshing water. She began walking along the narrow, mossy banks downstream, curious about where it led. Eventually, she heard a louder sound of water, indicating either rapids or a waterfall ahead. She continued forward silently, her senses picking up another creature ahead as well. She emerged through the trees and beheld a small waterfall, the water disappearing down below into a deep, pure pool. A large creature was nearby, though Ecco couldn't see it very well through the tree trunks. "Hello? May I ask who you are? I am a friend," she called below, saying the last part in the Ancient Language. IC: Paconio wiped the sweat from his brow, softly panting from his recent workout. He sheathed his sword in one fluid motion and headed towards the nearby river to get a drink. He was without his big green dragon, Augustus, today. Normally they were an inseparable pair, but today they decided to part ways for a few days to train on their own. Paconio missed Gus a lot, but since he was training all day nothing was really on his mind but his strength. As he reached the river, he cupped water in his hands and drank deeply. He suddenly paused as voices reached him, and he realized that at least two people were having a conversation. I'm glad you're back on. Hope you'll stick around for a while things'll get epic pretty soon heh heh... IC: Artemis looked around, surprised that someone had managed to sneak up on her without her sensing them. She was usually suspectable to anyone around, having 300 years to live through she had taught herself to sense somebody from far away. Then she saw the elf farther down the hill, insisting they are friendly and not about to attack her. She was lucky this time, she supposed. What business do you have doing here near my waterfall? Mis replied, her purplish-black wings spread out to defend herself in case this person decided to try anything funny. No one is supposed to know of this location. The creature's feminine voice entered her mind, her tone suspicious. The elf smiled in a friendly manner, unperturbed by the gryphon's attitude. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was your waterfall. I was just exploring, that's all. Taking some time to enjoy the forest. I've had a rough few weeks," she replied, sitting down on a moss-covered rock overlooking the waterfall and pool. She blinked happily as she surveyed their surroundings. The trees covered most of the sky overhead, but a tiny patch was open to the heavens. The waterfall and pool prevented the trees from covering everything. The air was a little chilly, but in a pleasant way. Ecco had been born among the ice and rocks and pines of the northwestern islands, and so enjoyed the cold. "My name is Ecco, and I hope you are not offended. This place is exceedingly lovely," she added, giving another smile and hoping the gryphon wouldn't force her to leave. She enjoyed making friends and meeting new creatures, and also this little pool in the forest was quite beautiful. After a few moments he came upon a water fall, and it became that the voices were in the general area. He scanned the surrounding area and after a moment he saw the two chatting figures, though their images were obscured by trees. He stood still for another moment, listening to their conversation, learning a bit about the two. He was pretty sure that they were both female in gender, though one of them appeared to be a large creature. The two didn't seem to be preparing to fight or anything, though the large creature did seem somewhat agitated. He slowly crept up behind a rather thick out, so the two wouldn't be able to see him. He released a sigh of relief, which he realized could possibly expose him. Life and not knowing what to write next is not a good combination. I'll go! XDIC: Artemis's wings closed around her body as she realized the elf was exhausted from having such a rough time as she had stated. Mis could tell that this person meant no harm, as she had complimented how beautiful the scenery is. Thank you. My sister had grown the flowers around the waterfall for me, sort of a farewell gesture. It's a long story. She replied to Ecco's introduction, My name is Artemis. No I am not offended, often people come looking for a place to stay in scenery such as this or often times fight for territory as some wild dragons have done in my time. I just happen to be territorial and...antisocial. She took a deep breath, before saying, You needn't go. I apologize for my rude attitude. I've been trying to get better at it though it's not going as well as I had hoped. Please, rest and take a drink from the waterfall. It'll soothe whatever ache that ails you. Artemis held her head up towards the movement ahead of them, her ears forward. Who are you? Step forward so that you may present yourself. "Oh, that is fine, no need to apologize. This is your place, after all, and I wouldn't want to impose. Thank you for letting me stay awhile," she replied, standing up and bending slightly at the torso in an elven bow of respect and greetings. She walked softly over to the waterfall, admiring the sparkling water as it trickled over the rocks and moss. A few ferns glistened as the spray misted over them, and the elf brushed them aside gently as she reached out to catch some of the falling water. After taking a few refreshing drinks, she turned to compliment the quality of water when a sound further beyond Artemis caught her attention. The gryphon spoke quickly, asking who was present. Ecco could sense another consciousness nearby, though it didn't seem threatening. He stayed still for a few more moments, releasing the breath that he hadn't even realized that he was holding. With slight hesitation, he slowly walked out from behind the tree, and found himself before a gryphon and a female elf. "I am terribly sorry for intruding upon your land.." He said to the gryphon. "My name is Paconio. I will leave now, if you wish, I had no intentions of offending you.." He could feel his face growing warm, realizing that he had no excuse for eavesdropping. _________________ The sacrifice is never knowing Why I never walked away, Why I played myself this way, Now I see your testing me pushes me away. Another elf, and he had come out from behind the tree to apologize. You needn't leave. I just don't approve of sneaking. Being blunt myself, I like to meet the people who...drop in from time to time. She bowed her head and said, My name is Artemis, it's nice to make your aquantence Paconio. Clouds above began to gather and a light mist fell upon them. Looking at both newcomers, Mis replied, Come inside my cave and out of the rain. It will become more heavy soon. She stood up and gestured towards the cave near the waterfall, walking inside.
