I believe that dragons did exist and that it is very possible that they still do. And when has a little imagination ever hurt anybody? Some of today's common household items used to be nothing but figments of some scientists immagination.

I'm sciency too but i've done my own research and everything but there's nothing that proves it wrong except belief! Even scientist in Romania have proven they were once alive! They found a fossilized egg and skeleton of a dragon, one cracked egg and the gene's! What more proof do you need? They've even found a baby dragon in a jar!

Scarecrow, why are you arguing against facts? They have found dragon eggs, dragon footprints, and there are countless stories about them. So why on Earth and Alagaesia are you trying to prove a negative? If you think you are right, than give us the evidence. Show us proof that dragons never existed and I'll believe you.

Sorry mate, but if he is so sure that dragons have never existed, why doesn't he present proof? You can't make an arguement without proof. My arguement has proof, his doesn't. Therefore, I am correct and I will stay that way until he presents factual evidence that dragons were never real.

I really don't feel like arguing with yall right now but i never turn down a debate; you have to understand there's proof, and I believe in dragons. Theres lots of proof, I've given yall plenty of evidence and I'm working on telling everyone everything I know about dragons, so just listen... think about it like this, dragons are mentioned in almost every religion, every race, every tribe or whatever, every one of them mentions dragons at least once (they give a description if they don't know the name) many religions and cultures didn't even start conversing until the late 1500's or later. So how could almost every culture or tribe or race know about dragons if they never spoke about them to each other?

Actually he did exist at one time, he's just not living anymore. (I don't feel like going into that though)

but all stories must be based somewhat in fact. that's the one pattern i have noticed through all literary works: they have some form of truth in there. therefore, dragon stories must have some basis in fact, especially since there are so many. plus, dragons are too widespread across very different cultures that they can't be false. everyone has different versions of the tales, obviously, but what matters is that they all have dragons in them. they are far too common in religion and culture that they have to be real.

now, Santa Clause is fake. but then again, me and my family believe in the spirit of Santa Claus, aka the spirit of giving.

i-luv-saphira: Thats exactly right in all stories there is some small part that no matter what is true! The fact of the matter is that you have to find that part, in the case of dragons that part is the physical and mental evidence that is everywhere you look!

Don't forget elves. Yeah I see what you mean but the evidence on this side doesn't work for your story. You know dinosuar bones really aren't replica correct, most dino bones they found didn't go together so they put other bones from other creatures together. Yet with the dragon skeleton they fond the bones were still completely intact and connected, even the wings.

Flamedragon: Yes its a thin, and winged dino.
Firetounge: Because most pterodactyls were thin and small bodied, the dragon skeleton was larger than the pterodactyls body by a good bit. Not to mention it had totally different bones and hundreds of more muscle areas and the features of the head, the wing shape and working system and the four legs ptero's only had two claw-like legs. There were to many differences to even call it a part of the family.

i guess you can say dragons were like pterodactyls. and yes, pterodactyls were dinosaurs. they were the winged ones. or if you have watched The Land Before Time series, Petrie is a pterodactyl.

I believe that dragons did exist at one point. As for not finding any skeletons, what if the dragons here were as intelligent as you and I? That would mean that they probably had their own rituals when one of their kind died. They could have burned the dead with their fire until there was nothing left but ashes. We probably won't ever know. But we can believe. That is one of mankinds greatest abilities. The imagination. Without imagination, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Why? Because without imagination, the ppl who invented the internet would never had made it. So, we can either choose to believe, or we can live our lives in black and white and never trouble to wonder about what it might have been like in the past. What it might be like to soar on a dragons wings, or on one's back. What a cold world it would be without the human ablities to believe and imagine.

But even if ppl have found footprints and skeletons no one really knows that they really exsit the skeletons they might of found could have been some wierd winged lizard not being able to fly or something. What ever it is not even the scientists know one questiion though: Where did you get the ''evidence'' at anyway????

they've found it everywhere. but the footprints and skeletons they found were in eastern Europe.

these are professionals. they wouldn't falsify evidence. plus, if it was a fraud, it's one of the most widespread frauds in the history of the world.
