Personality: Calm and peaceful, but ruthless in the face of his enemies. Has only been known to show emotion once, when he killed in battle for the first time. He is very hounorable and has never backed down from a fight, or killed a person from behind. His gedwey ignasia is on his right hand. He is a serious person, and is not very good with jokes, though he is brilliant at riddles, puzzles and other mind games. He cares a great deal for nature, and is accomplished in biology. Win his friendship, and you will have a loyal and powerful ally, but if he doesn't like you, you have a reliable enemy.

History: It is only known that he acquired his dragon egg from his sword, wyrda (fate.) He found the sword sticking out of a tree in the forests of Du Weldenvarden. He grabbed the sword and pulled it from the tree, but as soon as he did, he saw a blinding red light, and he was knocked to the floor, then he blacked out. When he woke, there was a shining red stone on the floor next to the sword. He picked up the stone, then it exploded into billions of tiny fragments, and there was a red dragon standing in his hand. From that day, he vowed to one day overthrow the Empire and defeat Galbatorix, and use his new powers to uncover the mysteries of his past. He earned his title of shadeslayer by defeating the shade Durmexius, which was a great feat, for the shade was one of Galbatorix's most skilled warriors.
