 You Just Can't Know Unless You JumpOOC:
Open plot, honestly just a small side project to keep my brain moving. IC: Mýa rubbed her arms vigorously as goosebumps rose on her skin. Her mate, Nachel, curled closer around her body, attempting to warm her with his abnormally heated flesh. She nestled into him, sighing softly. A few days earlier she had decided to leave her Lycan pack in Du Weldenvarden and venture on her own for a few months. Nachel had insisted on leaving with her, which left the inexperienced Beta, or second-in-command, Keba, in charge of the Clan. She'd fretted for a few days, but now, twined closely with her mate underneath the starry sky, she felt nothing but content. Her tunic ruffled a bit as Nachel's hand slipped underneath and kneaded the small of her back with his warm fingers, relaxing her further. Being Alpha female of a whole village of werewolves was stressful work, and at times she forgot how to sit back and enjoy herself. The she-wolf crooned lovingly in her throat, gently nipping Nachel's shoulder in gratitude. He rumbled in reply, kissing the top of her head before he folded her into his arms and rocked her to sleep. They both woke at dawn, still tightly curled together. They watched the sky lighten, occasionally stroking each others faces. Werewolves took comfort in touch, reveled in it. Someone outside a Lycan pack might think it inappropriate, but to a werewolf it was perfectly normal. Mýa sighed and sat up, leaning on one arm over her mate. His glittering gold eyes were warm with affection as he smiled slightly. She leaned down and pressed her nose to his, crooning tenderly in her chest. His smile widened, then he tilted his head just enough to catch her lips in a soft peck. She returned the small kiss lightly, aware that they were near the town of Marna. She pulled back gently when his hands caught her waist, shaking her head with a humorous smirk pulling at her mouth,"Not here, Nachel. We're too close to humans." she chastised, though she felt slightly giddy at the mischievous gleam within the golden depths of his irises. He chuckled, pulling her down. He kissed her again, rolling over so he was the one on top,"Then let's change so we can." he countered, his voice rough and husky. She scowled playfully at him and pushed, succeeding in moving away and standing. "For heavens sake, Nachel, learn some patience." she teased, her silver-amber eyes glittering. Her mate sighed with exasperation, watching as she belted on her sword and daggers,"Oh, alright fine." he grumbled, crossing his arms over his bare-chest (he absolutely refused to wear a tunic, in case he had to phase quickly). Mýa laughed warmly and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling at his neck so she could press her forehead to his,"Patience never was your strongest virtue, was it?" she teased. He chuckled, eyes gleaming, then ducked his head and pecked another kiss,"Nope. You nailed that, princess." he murmured, then released her and went about picking up camp. They always made sure to leave no trace wherever they stayed for the night. Tonight, however, they would be staying inside Marna. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump "Marna...such a peaceful place." Came the rumbling voice of Kurdon Neelix. He was standing on a tree top, with a high view of Marna. He had been traveling form city to city, causing various forms of chaos. Mostly small things: fires, murder, robberies and then framing someone; small stuff. He wanted something bigger. He wanted to watch an entire city burn, not just a house or three, but the whole city. With a devilish grin and a glint in his pure white eyes, he jumped jump the top of the tree clear to the ground below with a dull thump. He stood and adjusted his sword at his side and started walking toward Marna.
From his tree top, it had looked as if the city was right in front of him, but now that he was on the ground he realized that it was much farther, it was midday by the time he arrived at the gates. Two guards stood and barred his path. "State your business here..." Kurdon looked at the for a moment and adjusted his leather jacket. "It doesn't concern you..." He spoke calmly. The left guard began to get angry. "Oh yes it does! Now, tell u-" He was cut off by a raised hand by Kurdon. "No...it doesn't...now, I recommended that you shut your trap before I kill you both." He started to walk forward, but the guard poleaxe in his chest stopped him. "State. Your. Business." Spoke the guard slowly. Kurdon looked at him with a grin. "Your choice, but I did warn you..." Kurdon snapped his fingers and both guard's heads spun around backwards, breaking their necks. He snapped again and the soil under them moved and covered them up, he didn't want to start a panic just yet. Now, unrestricted by pesky guards, he walked into Marna. He walked around, tabbing the larger buildings, important buildings, and most importantly, homes of innocent people; they were the most fun to burn. With that done, he walked to the closest bar and took a seat in the back and began thinking about what building he would start with. Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Mýa walked arm in arm with her mate toward the front gates of Marna. She had expected soldiers to be stationed there, but strangely there were none presence. She shrugged and continued on, though Nachel seemed suddenly nervous. She soothed her hand down his arm to the hand he had planted protectively around her waist. He shivered at her touch. She bent her head back and pecked his lips gently,"Relax, love. Let's find a bar and try not to stand out. Then we can find board." she murmured. He nodded in agreement, and they quickly found a pleasant tavern. They slipped inside and kept mostly to the back. They stood only a few feet from a man at a table, who seemed to be deeply in thought over something. Mýa was only vaguely aware of him as Nachel pulled her against him, nibbling gently at her neck. One of his hands came up to stroke her blue-grey mane. She tried to pull away, but his hand around her waist was like iron,"Nachel, we're in public. Not here." she rasped. Nachel growled in his throat and allowed her to step back, but refused to remove his arm from her waist,"Like you said before, princess; no patience." he said with a devilish grin. She sighed in exasperation,"Go get us some drinks, will you? just a beer for me." she said, leaning back against the wall. He nodded once, golden eyes still twinkling, kissed her lightly, and released her to push his way to the bar.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon had just finished burning down the main hall and quiet a few homes, when he was interrupted by a couple that stood too close to his liking. He pretended as though he were in thought, but he watched them. He made note of his the male seemed to want the female, and he was instantly disgusted. He watched the male move away to the bar, leaving the female alone. It had been a while since Kurdon had done anytihng chaotic, or even remotely fun, so he ooked around the bar for the biggest, stupidest, and ugliest patron he could find. His eyes fell upon a large man surrounded by beer mugs that could have passed for an urgal. Kurdon extended a small tendril of energy to the man and forced it into his brain. Once in, he sent small electrical impulses to the man. With his energy link, Kurdon could see how the man was reacting. One made him sad, another angry, another nearly killed him. It took a few tries, mere second apart though, until he got the desired result. The man looked up at Mya and grinned. He stood and half walked half stumbled over to her. He leaned against a table in front of her, trying to look cool. "Hey there hotty, you look lonely over here. Why don't cha ocme back to my place and let me keep you company." As he spoke he reached out to try and feel her chest.

Her brow shot up as a man, obviously drunk, came over to her and laid across the table. Disgust for humans flitted across her mind. She rolled her eyes, but her gaze instantly hardened into a scowl as he reached out to feel her up. She smacked his hand aside and cracked him sharply in the jaw with her knee. He was shot to his feet by the force of her blow. She neatly spun on her leg and nailed him in the head with her foot, sending him sprawling on the ground, out cold. She kneeled beside him and whispered in his ear, though she knew he couldn't hear,"Not a chance." she said, then stood and returned to her previous position. She sighed, blowing some bangs out of her face. She hoped no other human men decided to try and sugar talk her.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon had to hide a grin as the woman knocked the crap out of the man. Although he enjoyed it, it wasn't enough, he was still bored. He looked over at the bar and saw that the male the woman had been with was still waiting for drinks. An idea formed, one that caused Kurdon to look away to hide his grin. He extended a small amount of energy to the man on the left of the male, again into his brain. He again sent small pulsed and caused the man to spill his drink. The man looked up at Nachel angrily. "Hey! Youu..mahde me shpill my drinks" He said slurring his word. He man punched Nachel, hitting him in the jaw.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Nachel barely moved as the man made to punch him in the jaw. He rolled with the landed, spinning around on his heel. He cracked the man in the side of the neck with his palm, unsteadying him. He pulled back and shot his foot up, hitting him in the jaw, knocking the man back. He watched the man disdainfully as he stumbled back,"I wouldn't advise you to fight me." he growled, then punched the man in the nose, sending him careening back, out cold. Nachel calmly grabbed the two drinks he'd managed to get hold of. He made his way back to his mate, handing her the mug once he saw her. His hand went around her waist, holding her close to his side. He leaned against the wall with her in front of him. He smiled as she stretched up and kissed him softly. Her returned it lightly, remembering her earlier words of warning. He pulled back with a smirk,"Who's impatient now?" he teased, golden eyes glittering. She smacked his chest, smiling,"Still you." she retorted playfully.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon watching with amusement as Nachel proceeded to whip the man, and knock him out. He looked around the bar for another middle man for amusement but saw none. He didn't want to cause any major chaos, yet, but he was still bored. He decided to change his targets, instead of the couple next to him that seemed to be conjoined at the lips and pelvis. He began messing with various patrons on the bar, making them start fighting with one another for one reason or another, while he watched as if it were a show. Soon, the whole bar was fighting itself and threatened to get out of control. The entire time, he sat there, watching. Every now and again he would glance up at the couple to see how they were reacting to the increasing violence in the room.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Mýa leaned her forehead against her mates chest, relaxing. Her ear twitched at the steadily rising noise. Soon she could hardly hear herself think. Finally, with an exasperated sigh, she spun on her heel. Her blue-grey mane whipped about her face, stinging her skin,"Zelke! she snapped, bringing her hand up sharply. Lightning crackled in between her fingertips and shot out, hitting every person in the tavern. The jolt was enough to make them all pass out, but not kill. She lowered her arm with a snort, then turned back to Nachel with a smile,"Better, right?" she asked, her silver-amber eyes gleaming. He nodded silently to the man at the table,"You missed one." he said jokingly. She pursed her lips,"From the look of him I'd say he's asleep." she said, then jumped forward. Her figure blurred for an instant before it reappeared again as a large, grey-blue wolf. Nachel followed her lead with a grin, shifting to a pure white wolf. They laid down in a corner, curled together in a mixing pile of snow white and blue-grey.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Her reaction to the fighting hadn't been what Kurdon had been expecting. He looked around at all of them passed out people, trying to come up with an idea to mess with the couple in the corner,who he now realized where shape shifters. He looked around the bar, and couldn't find any inspiration, so he decided to mess with them directly. He extended a tendril of energy and moved it to the thin space between them. He made it small enough so that they wouldn't feel it. Once it reached both of their lengths, he sent a mild electric shock threw it, enough he hurt but not cause any serious damage, maybe some singed fur.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Mya burrowed her nose into her mates scruff affectionately. He rumbled tenderly and twisted around to lick her muzzle gently. The both lifted their heads as a small electric shock passed down the length of them. It wasn't exactly unpleasant, but it did sting a bit and singe some fur. The blue-grey female got to her paws and stretched pleasantly, extending her long, sharp claws out so they scratched against the floor. She stood up on her hindlegs, much like a two leg would do, and crossed her arms over her furred chest. Nachel stood as well, looking at her anxiously. He knew that look, especially on her non-human face,"What's bothering you, princess?" he purred, wrapping his forelegs around her to pull her close. She crooned appreciatively and ran her clawed-fingers through his fur,"I'm worrying about the pack. A Lycan Clan depends heavily on their leader, and Keba is not very experienced...especially with dealing with the troublemakers." she fretted, her lips drawing back from her teeth slightly in concern. Nachel smiled wolfishly,"Always the worrier. I'm sure their getting along fine without us. A pack that cannot function without their Alphas does not survive long, and they've done a nice job of it so far." he soothed, tenderly touching his snout to the side of her muzzle. She sighed and allowed herself to fall into his embrace.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon watched with interest as the two stood on their hind legs like humans. "Well that's odd..." He listened to them, and realized he had been mistaken. They were not shape shifters, but rather werewolves, or lycans as they called themselves. He hadn't heard much about them during his time and travels, which was surprising because he had been just about every where, and he had never seen one up close like this. Anyone one else would have been excited to see such a rare race of being. Kurdon was excited, but for a different reason. He didn't know much, but he knew that the Lycans were far and few between, and to kill off a pack of them would be a jewel in his chaotic crown. He assumed these two to be the leaders of their pack, as they seemed worried about it's well being. He was growing bored with seeing them snuggle and get close again, so he did what he does best. He extended a tendril of energy to the man that had tried to feel up the female before and wrapped several energy string around him. Now, he was like a puppet. He made the man get up and walk over to the pair without saying anything. He got right behind the woman and put both hands on her rear, or where it would be if she was human. Kurdon had to resist laughing as he had a feeling he knew what would happen next.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Nachel was only just beginning to move as Mya whirled around sharply. She grasped the mans wrists within her paws, squeezing with easily enough force to shatter his bones. He howled in pain and tried to jerk back, but her grip was like iron. She twisted his wrists, breaking them further, before finally releasing him. Her lips peeled back, revealing her gleaming teeth, especially her inch and a half long fangs. A snarl ripped it's way from the pit of her stomach, a menacing sound that made Nachel shudder behind her,"Human vermin." she spat, her silver-amber eyes gleaming, before she lifted her left hind leg, claws fully extended, and scratched him down the length of his stomach and abdomen. She continued going with her savage slash, until she ripped her claws free from the fork of his trousers. He howled even louder and went to his knees, gripping his groin that had just been shredded to slivers. She snorted contemptuously and flicked her tail with a muted word from the Lycan Tongue. Black lightning surged from her fur and struck the man on the chest, directly above his heart. He keeled over, instantly dead, blood still welling from his horrific wound and pooling beneath him.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon watched with rapt attention as Mya attacked the man. He made note of how viciously she attacked, and that she seemed to have control over lightning. This last bit was good for him, as lightning was nothing more than energy, and he manipulated energy. He now had a target of torment, and would until he decided to raze the city and watch it burn to the ground. He glanced back over at the couple, and changed what he had thought before. The female was the alpha, and the male was merely her mate. He grinned at this, as he already had a second target after Marna; the Lycan pack. What better way to take down a group than to go after the leader? He looked outside and noticed it was dark, and decide he had had enough fun for one day. He stood and walked past the couple, and the dead man, being careful not to soil his shoes on the man's blood, and left to go to an inn he had seen earlier.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Mya looked up, startled, as a man walked past her and Nachel. Fear skated across her furred face. Had he seen them change? She couldn't take the chance of him spilling their most closely guarded secret. She lowered herself to all four paws and flashed after him, quickly catching up. Nachel was right on her left shoulder, the customary place for a mate. She darted around the walking man until she stood in his path. Her silver-amber eyes were cold and dangerous. Stop. she growled in a double timbre, the Alpha command heavy in her tone. It was a voice that demanded respect from both her pack and humans, but some sixth sense said this man was not exactly normal. She was confused at what her instincts were telling her before she pushed them aside and continued her cold glare. What did you see in there? Tell me. she said calmly, though the double timbre was vibrating powerfully in her tone, wrapping its tendrils around him and urging him to obey. He could tell she was worried about something, even scared perhaps, but over what he didn't know. When she spoke he felt something compelling him to obey her, which struck a chord with him. He disliked being told what to do by anyone, no matter who they were. His reply was more a deep growl than a normal voice, but that wass how he wanted it to come across; threateningly. "And who are you to tell me what to do...dog...get out of my way before I gain a new fur coat." He moved to walk past her, hiding a smirk. Pushing peoples buttons was one of his favorite past times.

Her mate, who had originally been her personal guard before her father gave up his right as Alpha and passed it to her, still was fiercely protective of her. Her silver-amber eyes glittered with malice and warning. I said stop, you furless mongrel. she snapped more forcefully, the double timbre ripping through the silence. She flicked her tail, creating a death shield around him in a five by five foot square. Take one more step forward and you will die. Now, tell me what you saw. she growled, her temper firmly in check. She'd dealt with far more ignorant werewolves in her pack.

"Listen pup...I don't want to kill you and your boy friend over there, at least not yet. So my advice to you is that you let me go...now" His voice was calm, cool, and collected, the exact opposite of Mya's. He snapped his fingers and a dome of pure energy formed around her. If she touched it, she would be severely burned. "You are not the only one with tricks you know...now let me go..." As if to punctuate the fact that he wanted to be released, the dome got a little smaller.

A semi-transparent black tendril of energy detached itself from Kurdon and touched the barrier. It faded instantly, but it had served it's purpose. Two more appeared and touched the barrier, this time going straight threw. They forced the barrier open, so that Kurdon could step threw. "You only think you have faced worse..." He said equally as cool. He snapped his fingers and the dome shattered, freeing her. He didn't want to kill her yet. He turned to walk away once again.

She took a deep breath, nodded mutely to her mate in gratitude, and stood still as the man drew away. She was wary that he'd been able to break her magic so easily...few people could do that to another human, let alone to a race as old as her own. She snorted once, then turned and trotted in the opposite direction, Nachel right on her left shoulder. She was proud and didn't like it when her orders were ignored, but she wasn't stupid. That man had more to him than the eye could see. And she intended to find out what that was.

It was a simple room: one window, one bed, one table. He took of his jacket and laid it on the table, slipped off his shoes and got into bed. He fell asleep quickly.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon awoke early the next morning, slipped on his coat and shoes and left the inn. The morning had a little bit of a chill to it, but he ignored it. He walked to the market, a place he liked to create chaos in every town. He looked around at the shops, looking for the ones that got a lot of customers, or ones that sold expensive things. He saw one, that sold gold items like necklaces or bracelets as well as jewels. He kept his distance, but watched the sore, waiting for a target to come by that he could use to start the chaos.

She stood and shifted to her human form, repositioning the tunic and trousers that appeared once the transformation was complete. Her mate lifted his muzzle, his black nose twitching delicately. She crooned reassuringly, rubbing her hand behind his ears,"I'll be back, love. Stay here." she murmured, then stood and walked out of the alley. She could feel Nachel watching her with his glittering golden eyes. A minute shiver went down her spine, then she discreetly looked from side to side, shifted her weapon belt, and went to the right. They needed food, although they could hunt in wolf form. Raw meat did not set well with a human stomach. She perused down the street, looking from store to store, searching idly for a place that she could buy a loaf of bread and some dried meat. A jewelry place caught her eye, and she subconsciously turned in its direction. She entered the shop, eying the beautiful pieces with a trained eye. A gold chain-mail choker necklace got her attention. She asked the seller how much,"Fifty gold pieces, ma'am." he replied, blinking rapidly at her strangely colored silver-amber irises. She nodded and gave him the money. He took the choker in his hands and gingerly clasped it around her neck. She smiled kindly and thanked him, then walked out. A small purchase. Nachel would be pleased. Now for food.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon couldn't believe his luck! The were wolf from the night before had just walked into the store he was watching. He waited and waited for the perfect moment, he already had energy in the store. The only problem was that the idiot store keeper wasn't watching her closely enough. His plan had been to sneak something into her pocket, make it look like she did it, and in clear view of the store owner. So much for that plan. Instead, he decided to follow her, keeping a safe distance, and stopping every now and again to look threw a store window at their wares before following again. He assumed she was going after food. She had just come form a jewelry store, she had a weapon, and she obviously knew magic so medical supplies were of no use to her. He knew that food merchants watched their supplies like hawks because they were stolen from the most.

Her nose twitched, recognizing a scent. She was being followed. The she-wolf thought over what to do. She had three options; continue on and see what he wanted, confront him, or slip away. She could easily do any one of them. She decided to go on as if she had no idea he was there. Her left wrist rested casually on the pommel of her sword, her hand open with her fingers relaxed and swinging gently. She saw a bakery sign at the end of the street. She let a look of delight cross her face and extended her stride, as if relieved she'd found a place for food.

This was good, as bakeries, meat shops, and fruit shops where some of the most thieved places in a market. Kuurdon noticed the Mya had picked up her walk, meaning she had noticed it too. He banked off a bit from her, going to the store across the street; a book store. There were tables in front of the windows meant for reading books, which happen to have a good view of the bakery as well as most of the street. Now Kurdon just watched and waited for a prime moment to strike.

Her mouth turned slightly grim, but still held the small smile of delight. She paused just outside the bakery and deliberately took off her tunic, the only thing that had pockets. She wiped her brow, as if removing a sheet of sweat. Underneath was a plain off white halter top, revealing her strong rounded shoulders, russet colored skin, and the smooth flesh of her upper back. She hung the tunic on a hook, then stepped inside. She grabbed what she needed, payed, and left within three minutes. On the way out she grabbed her tunic and laid it over her arm carrying the purchased food. She lifted her eyes and looked directly at the man she'd seen last night. Her silver-amber eyes were gleaming coldly, as if saying "One for me, zero for you". She pursed her lips, sniffed disdainfully, and turned down the street to return to her mate.

He watched her take off her tunic and put it on her arm, walk in and back out with her purchase. He would have to resort to more extream measures if he were going to have any fun today. He extended a tendril of energy into the bakery and into the mind of the baker. Kurdon was surprised to see how strong it was, but quickly broken. He sent a few electric impulses to the man to make him think that Mya had stolen from him. The baker ran out of the store shouting. "Guards! Guards! That woman is a thief!" He pointed at Mya. Two guards that where talking by a sword store looked up at the commotion and walked over to the baker. 'Whats the problem here?" The guard's voice was gruff when he spoke. "That woman stole from me! She's a thief! See that bread! She took it without paying!" He said, still pointing. Both guards looked at Mya and started walking towards her. "Alright miss...thieving is not tolerated here. You're coming with us." Kurdon grinned, thoroughly enjoying himself

Her free hand, her left, loosely grasped the hilt of her sword,"I beg your pardon, sirs. The man must be confused. I gave him thirty gold pieces for this bread. Search his register; it was empty when he opened it, so there should be precisely thirty coins." she said, making her brow furrow in genuine confusion. She had infused her words with a small trace of the Alpha command, to urge them to obey her. One of the men, a young boy of perhaps twenty-five, inclined his head and stepped into the store. He came back out mere moments after,"Her words are true, sir." he told the other guard,"There is indeed precisely thirty gold pieces." Mýa shot a quick look to the man; it was challenging, as if saying "What now, mongrel?".

He wanted to save his more complicated tactics for when he burned the city. He let her have this win, but before she left, he brushed some energy onto her. She wouldn't be able to feel it, but this would allow him to track her even when he couldn't see her. He just gave her a blank stare in response to her look.

She strode away from the man, oblivious to the fact that he had tacked on a strand of energy to her own. She quickly came back to her mate, rounding the corner into the alley mere mounts later. He had shifted a few moments before she arrived, hearing her footsteps. He was leaning against the wall, waiting for her. She tossed him half a loaf of bread and two pieces of dried meat, placing the rest, minus her portion, into the pouch they carried around for such uses as this. She took her meal and sat next to Nachel, hip to hip and shoulder to shoulder.

Once she was he stood and left the book store, but not before pusheing over a book shelf which dominoed into the next and then the next and so on. Several groans of pain could be heard from under a few of the shelves. He left and walked the same way she had been going, but rather than going directly to her, he turned in 3 allies up. Glancing around to ensure he was alone, he made a circle in the air with his energy. Inside of this circle there was an aerial map of the city, courtesy of several energy bands he had left when he was scouting. He zoomed in on there area he was in. He now see where he was, marked by an X, and where Mya was, marked by an O. He took a few steps until he was directly in line with her and dropped the map. He took what looked like a fighting stance, with one foot infront of the other. He put his hands together, heel to heel and near his back hip. Energy began to jump from one finger to the next one, slowly building. Soon, there was a glowing red ball of energy that was still growing. It grew until it was the size of his hand. Once it reached this size he thrust his hands forward, sending the ball flying. The ball tore threw the walls of the buildings between him and Mya, but once it got to the last wall, the one she and her mate where resting on, he snapped his fingers and it exploded violently.

She jerked Nachel to his feet and pushed him away from the wall, covering his body with her own once they were both clear. He struggled to get up, his instinct to shield her surfacing, but she pinned him down to the ground with the ropes of muscles in her arms. She whipped her head up as soon as it was clear, silver-amber eyes burning as she searched for the cause of the explosion of energy. Her keen eyesight narrowed in on a figure of a man, obscured by distance and dust, but she saw it. With a roar of challenge she leapt into the air, her body rippling and shifting and she changed to her other self. She landed on her paws and was instantly pelting through the path the ball of energy had created, slipping deftly past people and objects as she shadowed by like a ghost. Once she was only one alley away, her jaws opened and an explosion of black electricity shot from her maw, enterlaced with some death Lycan Magic. No one attacked her mate and lived to tell the tale. Alphas were fiercely protective of their mates. If he had known anything about her race, he should've learned that first.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon heard a roar, and knew he had hit his target. He waited for Mya to attack, but didn't have to wait long. Before he knew it, a ball of black electricity was coming at him. Unfortunately for Mya, electricity was one of his favorite forms or energy. He raised his hand and stopped the ball in it's tracks. He noticed something was different about it, there was magic interlaced in the electricity. He had planned on absorbing the energy, but he didn't know what the magic was, so he threw the ball into the air with a flick of his wrist, it ran out of energy soon and disappeared. This took all of about a second. He saw Mya running at him, obviously angry that he had attacked them. with another twitch of his wrist, a web of energy appeared in the hole between himself and the running Mya, blocking her way to him. If she ran into it she would be cooked on contact.

She bared her teeth and flicked her tail at the web. A powerful string of her own energy wound around it, squeezing it unmercifully. Her energy bent the web to her shape, pulling it to her and wrapping it around her body like a shield. It coiled around her, a full two inches from her fur. She flicked her tail again, uttering a quick word in the Lycan Tongue. She sent a nasty spell of werewolf magic toward the man, aimed for his leg. This spell had been cast on her once, tearing a horrific wound in her shoulder a few hours before she was named Alpha. For a twoleg, it would shatter the bone in his calf and knee.

He gathered energy around his leg and let the magic hit him. Once it hadit bounced off of his energy and shot back at Mya. Not only had it rebounded, but now Kurdon had a sample of her magic so he knew what to look for in future attacks.

It seemed like he could throw back or control everything she threw at him. Her brow furrowed. She hated actually using her Magic, but this man was pushing her to do so. She flicked her tail yet again, and this time her attack was pure magic. No projectile, nothing he could parry. It was similar to 'jierda' in the Ancient Language. Instant injury. She heard a satisfying crack as a few ribs were broken. She dodged to the side and sent another Bone Breaker spell. Most Lycan Magic spells were circled around death, murder, ambush, and torture. He clutched his side and saw another magic attack coming at him. He repeated the process for the first one and rebounded it back at her, bu this time he added his own energy, making it faster than it had been before.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump He grinned as he saw his attack make contact, but was caught off guard by his tunic suddenly catching fire. Fire was another one of his favorite energies. Before the fire could do much damage, he removed it and used it to block the bone Breaker spell. The flames burst into sparks in front of him. Using this as a quick cover, he drew his sword. In the same motion as drawing it, he laced the blade with energy, and as soon as the tip was free of the sheath, he sliced upwards and sent a wave of energy barreling at Mya that was as tall as she was, and half as wide.

She sliced her claws through it, tearing it to ribbons, but at the same time absorbing it to boost her strength. In a spontaneous flick of thought, she stood on her hind legs and withdrew a dagger, hurtling it through the fire toward his stomach. She drew her sword a moment after, lacing it with an Instant Death spell. If the blade touched his open flesh, he would die within thirty seconds.

He held it spinning in midair, trapped in a ball of energy. He fed it his energy and watched it spin faster until the blade was a mere blur in the air. He released it back at Mya, aiming for her chest. At the same time, right behind the dagger, he shot a line of force at her, similar to what she had used to break his ribs, it was a line of forward motion that would break bone if it hit.

From the corner of her eye she saw a flash of white...and suddenly Nachel was in front of her, upright in his wolf form. The dagger thudded into his shoulder, knocking him back a step, but he stayed firmly on his feet in front of her. The energy was roaring toward him now, but he merely flicked his tail and absorbed it into his body. Lycans were more learned in spells and energy that caused pain than most other people. His hand-and-a-half sword was held close to his side, point to the ground.

Instead He turned his foot sideways and stopped the ground toward them. A wave of energy shot forth from the ground. It was a head taller than both of them, and it took up the entire ally. Before it got to them he snapped his fingers and the waved burst into flame.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Nachel stood his ground, even when Mýa attempted to grasp his arm and pull him back. He barely flinched as the energy was changed to a wave of fire. With a silent, deadly grace, he drew his sword up and held it with both hands, tip facing the ground. He slashed the blade down savagely, sending a wave of wind to beat the flames back. In case that didn't do the trick, he spun on his heel in a complete circle, sword parallel to the ground. A tsunami of fire roared from the tip of the blade, arcing toward the man.

The flames continued to speed toward the pair, now too close to do anything but dodge, but even that would be difficult since it took up the whole width of the ally. When the man laughed his own wave of fire at Kurdon, he raised his hand and redirected the blaze to his own wave that was still headed for them, strengthening it and making it burn hotter than before.

He twisted around so he now faced the ground. He landed on his paws, crouched over his mate protectively. Every inch of his body was covering hers, shielding her from the blast of fire. When it came to him, he cringed as his fur was singed severely, down to the skin in some places. He panted from the heat, gritting his teeth at the pain. Once it passed, he collapsed ontop of Mýa briefly, stunned by the attack. He staggered to his hindfeet, determined to protect his mate. She was more important to the packs survival than him. He felt her struggle to get up, to get in between him and the man, but he placed one hindpaw on her back and pinned her to the ground. She snarled at him, making him shiver. Let. Me. Up. she snapped at him, her tone heavy with the double timbre of the Alpha. But he was Alpha, too. No. he growled back, pressing her into the ground harder. She snarled, the noise tearing up her throat and making her body vibrate from its intensity. It was enough to make him release her. He would give him this much, he had guts. He watched them argue than then the male relenting and letting her up. He was growing tired of this fight now. He let his arms go slack and he stood up straight. "Well my furry friends, I bid you farewell. I grow tired of this fight, maybe we can continue at some other point." He spoke sarcastically, and just to add to it, he bowed to them. Upon rising back up. he snapped his fingers and a blinding white light appeared in front of him. He wasn't bothered by it, but the two in front og him would most certainly be blinded for a while. he used the cover of the light to run up and over the ally wall behind him and into the next ally over. Once there, he walked out into the street, and headed for his inn.

Enough. she commanded him, and he finally relented, dropping to all fours and leaning on her offered shoulder. She looked him over and grimaced; he was hurt pretty badly. She shifted to her clothed human form, lifting her mate into her arms. He sagged tiredly in her grip. She nudged his mind softly, coaxing him to phase. He finally did. Tunic and trousers shimmered into place once his transformation was finished. He lifted a hand and caressed her face tenderly, though it dropped quickly to rest on his stomach. He tried to speak, but she shushed him sternly,"Hush, Nachel. Let me get you to a twoleg healing place." she murmured, then she pelted out of the alley with him in her arms. She raised her nose and sniffed, searching for the telltale sign of healing herbs, as well as sickness. She found it on the very edge of her scent range. She blew past civilians, barely casting them a second glance. Nachel's breathing was becoming labored; her feet moved faster in response. She didn't even notice that she had just passed the man that had injured her mate; the only thing on her mind was to get Nachel help.

He turned back around and watched as Mya raced with her partner in her hands to find him help. He had planned on messing with some humans, but these two had proven to be amusing so far. He tracked her via energy trail and walked after her.

Stay away from him. she snarled, using the full force of the Alpha command on him. She'd never enforced her will so heavily on anyone, not even those of her pack. She dug her claws into his chest for emphasis, then sprang back and pelted at full speed back to her mate. Enough was enough, and she was enraged enough to kill. She didn't want to go there, but knew that if she was pushed, she would.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon felt her coming at him, but let her tackle him to the ground anyways. He smiled pleasantly as she threatened him. He had heard, and given, worse. When she left, he slowly got up and dusted himself off. He had heard her use the same commanding voice she used on a lot of people, but rather than being compelled to do what she said, he felt the opposite. He felt compelled to disobey her. He wasn't sure why this was, but he didn't mind. He followed her trail back to the medical facility and stepped inside. He grinned and imagined all of the pain he could cause here; he was a man of no morals. He knew that her and her mate would likely feel him coming, but it was obvious he couldn't sneak so why try. He looked from one patient to the next until he spotted them at the far end of the room. He walked to one side of the building so he was in a straight line with them with a long line of beds and patients between them. He took a wide stance and brought both arms up quickly. A wall of blue energy shot up from the ground, flipping over the bed that was above it. He twirled his hand back close to his chest and pushed out, and sent the wall racing at them, taking the beds and patients with it. Mangled screams of pain, the breaking of bone, scraping of wood, and gushing of blood was nearly overwhelming.

She erected a shield of powerful energy around her mate to protect him from the blow, then zipped off. She nimbly dodged people, cots, and any other debris that might get in her way. When she met the wall, she lithely slipped right through it, her eyes intent on him. Her fur was only slightly singed from the strength of the wall. With a flick of her tail she harnessed the energy that he had released in the wall, halting it. It coalesced into a huge ball of pure light, growing steadily as she fueled her own energy into it, until it was quadrupled in power and size. She sent it careening toward him with a roar, expanding it into a wall again that was several feet thick, two men high, and two times as wide. She flicked her tail and it circled in around the man, closing in over the top so he was trapped inside a dome. Then she made it explode inwards.

It was a tad surprised that she had the mental capacity to take control over it and bend it to her will. He remained still as she turned it into a ball of light and sent it barreling back at him. He didn't even twitch when she made a dome around him. When it exploded, he held up both of his hands on either side of himself, stopping the force from reaching him. He kept the dome in place and gathered the explosion force into a tight ball, making it 3 times as volatile. A door opened behind him and he slipped threw it, out of her line of sight since the dome was a solid color. He then channeled energy into his legs for speed. He bounded form where he was, back to her mate so quickly his feet didn't even make dust on the floor. He made sure to stay away from the male, but stayed close enough to use the explosion force. "Hey!" He said holding a pulsing black ball of pure force out so she could see it. "If this touches anything besides my hand, including your energy, then this whole building goes!" He laughed a cold laugh. It lasted for a few seconds before he became deadly serious. "Do ye yield?" This was but a game to him, and he wanted to win by making her quit!

She absorbed it into her body, nearly passing out from the amount of energy coursing through her now. She looked around at the destruction the short battle had caused; overturned cots, sprawled bodies, corpses, moans of misery and cries of agony. How had she allowed this? Her ears slicked back and she lowered her head, her savage silver-amber eyes glittering with malice. She mostly stood down because he had something in his hand that was partially Lycan Magic. If it wasn't, it was a close replica. An incessant growl slipped through her teeth, but she remained crouched to the ground. For now. she replied, her tone hard and emotionless.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon's grin widened when he saw that she had stood down. "Good..." He took the energy and tucked it into his pocket, turned, and left threw the front door. Once he made it to the street he turned back around and took out the ball of energy. He focused his own energy into it, making it 4 times as strong as it had been, and capable of destroying not only the building, but the surrounding ones as well. He called to Mya inside of the building. "Have fun with this." His tone was mocking as he threw the ball of energy back inside the building. It sailed threw the building and hit the back wall, exploding on contact. The medical building, all that had been inside it, as well as the butcher shop and florist shop on either side were destroyed in the explosion, but by the time this occurred, Kurdon had already left.

She ordered him to hang on, then sprang out of the building, sprinting for the front gates. Even once she had breezed past them, she continued to run, intent on getting Nachel as far away from Marna as possible.

He whipped out his sword and began felling people left and right. Women, children, animals, everything he could reach was cut down by his blade, and what he couldn't reach he killed with energy. He made it to the Main Hall and ran inside, leaving bloody foot prints where ever he would walk. He went to the center of the building and sheathed his sword. He started taking energy from the people in the building, causing them to drop dead, and condensing it around him. Once he had more than enough, he released it. The energy tore there the building, making it explode and send debris flying threw the air, some of which landed on people outside. He went back outside and looked at the chaos. People where screaming and running around. Children were crying over dead parents, and parents were crying over dead children. In some cases, the whole family could be seen dead in the road. Kurdon smiled a sick smile and slowly made his way to the center of Marna, blasting threw buildings as he did. Once there, he repeated what he had done in the Main Hall, but on a much larger scale. People began to fall over dead as he stole their energy, littering the streets with twice as many bodies as before. He gathered the energy into a ball over his head, and let it loose. The resulting shock wave ripped apart homes, picked up bodies like rag dolls, tore gashes into the ground, and killed anyone close enough to get hit by it. The buildings that weren't demolished by the wave burst into flame because of the raw energy. The fires quickly spread every where and soon most of Marna was in flames. Kurdon left happily threw the front gate, humming a tune to himself, as he followed Mya's trail out of the city.

He listened to the sounds of chaos behind him, letting it flow threw him and become his being. He felt most alive around chaos, and right now he felt better than he had in ages. As he followed Mya's trail, he started walking faster and faster without realizing it, until he was running with the speed of an elf. He didn't see Mya for some time even with his speed, but when he did he stopped and resumed a pace that would keep an eve ndistance between them, which was about 100 yards.

She blocked him from the rest of her mind, erecting an impenetrable barrier between him and her personal thoughts. Like I'm going to tell you that, Vebiln. she hissed in response. The word 'vebiln' was from her tongue, meaning a very offensive word toward men, starting with the letter 'B'. He probably wouldn't know exactly what she said, but the venom in her voice would give him a clue that it was not a compliment.

When she erected the barrier around her mind, he had started to leave, but got a better idea. He began tapping against her barrier with his mind, tapping out a random beat like a bored student would on a school desk. He even hummed along with it to himself.

Nachel was still clinging precariously to her back, clutching tufts of fur in his fists. Her hackles were bristling with warning. Very well. But if you so much as twitch wrong, you'll find my teeth in your throat. she growled threateningly, gently lowering her body to slip her mate from his perch on her back. He landed softly on the ground and she instantly moved to hover over him.

Actually, he had no intentions of healing him at all, but he wasn't going to let Mya know that yet. He made a green ball of energy and extended it toward him. When it touched, it began slowly healing some of his wounds, but at the same time, it constricted his vocal cords so he couldn't call out. The green ball began absorbing black bands of energy. He knew Mya would want to know what this was. "The black bands are his pain...I'm easing his pain at least while I heal him."The black bands condensed into a black ball in Kurdon's hand. What he had said was not true, in anyways. The black bands were actually what little energy Nachel had left. When the ball got to the size of his fist he absorbed it and began making a new ball.

Instead of becoming more alert, Nachel seemed to be rapidly loosing strength, his motions becoming more feeble as she watched. His glittering golden eyes, normally slashing with vibrant life, now were barely passing as a dull amber. His mouth opened repeatedly, like he was trying to communicate something to her but couldn't. His gaze flickered to the man and back to her, silent warning within his irises. Understanding dawned. She shook her head minutely, telling him to wait. Without moving an inch of muscle, she suddenly blasted into the mans mind, stealing back what he had taken and then some. She poured it into her mate and he instantly leaped to his paws, springing at the man. She was hot on his tail, her eyes transfixed on the mans throat.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump In the many years of Kurdon's life, he has learned to be careful. As such, he always keeps his mind guarded, and now he was reminded of why. When Mya stole the energy from him, she hadn't stole it from Kurdon, she had taken it form the surrounding wild life and plants. If one looked, because of how much energy she took, several of the trees around there where now dead. As soon as she stole the energy Kurdon jumped back away from the two. "I see you're not as dumb as I thought." He said while pushing backwards. As he moved he drew sword sword, stopped, and crouched low. He hadn't been able to get far enough away from Mya, so she was still pretty close, only about 2 feet before his blade. He lunged forward and stabbed at her midsection.

Call us animals or stupid dogs if you like, we know a trick when we see one. she retorted sharply. She twisted lithely, extending her body out. Her forepaws caught the hilt of his sword, catching it with her claws. She wrenched it away, shoving it behind her as she used his hands to pull her onto him. Nachel went for his legs, to trip him, while she opened her jaws and aimed for his throat. Her teeth were mere inches from meeting in his flesh.

He let her take his sword from his gasp and throw it behind her. He felt Nachel hit his legs, making him stumble. They were both close enough now. He began to pour energy out of his body, but as soon as it reached his skin it became a raging blue flame, capable of burning fur and hide in mere seconds.

Up to this point, he had only been using a fraction of his strength or using energy. He reach up and using all of the strength he could at the moment, which was still enough to crush rock if he wanted, and began to pry open her mouth, ignoring the fact that her teeth where cutting his fingers.

She flicked her tail at her mate, who instantly backed off to conserve his strength. They joined minds using their mate bond, sharing thoughts and energy at the speed of light. But he couldn't overpower them both. She clamped her jaws shut again, bloodying his neck further and pinning his fingers between her teeth.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon knew he could over come her, if it wasn't just her he was fighting. He felt her jaws opening, and then he felt Nachel back away and he jaws close again. He figured they were sharing energy some how. How, he didn't know, nor did he care, all he cared about right then was his bloody neck, and trapped fingers. He remembered his sword from before. He extended his energy to it and made it rise into the air and fly at Mya's back blade first. At the same time he continued to try and pry her jaws open, exerting more strength that he had before and continuing to pour energy into the blue fire that covered his body. He was glad now that he had taken the male wolf's energy, but even so, it was leaving him quickly

She heard a sharp thwack! as her mate knocked away the projectile coming toward her. She tightened her jaws around the mans neck, ignoring all else; the flames, his fingers, nothing mattered but the piece of warm flesh between her jaws, moist and slippery with blood. She growled, a menacing sound. She shook her head, tearing his throat even more. Her teeth clamped down on his airways. Stand down! she snarled at him, her claws tightening in his chest.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon shuddered as he realized he couldn't beat both of them, as one had the other's back leaving no room to attack. He did hold satisfaction in know he had hurt her with his fame though. He was loosing blood quickly now, and that coupled with the drain of energy and using all of his strength to get her jaws off of him, he suddenly felt very tired. One leg gave out on him and he sank to a knee. Although it killed him to do so, he relented. "I yield I yield!" He called frantically into her mind. He knew when he had been bested, at least for now. He just hopped that she wouldn't take it upon herself to end him.

At her warning he looked up at her, his pure white eyes unreadable, but he felt a growing sense of hatred for her. He winced when she got close again, expecting her to attack again, but was slightly relieved to see that she didn't. He watched them walk away wordlessly, and began healing his neck.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump It took a long while for Kurdon to heal his neck as he had to stop to rest quite a few times. By the time he had finished Mya and Nachel were far away from him. He stood and swayed, light headed. He looked around him, and started taking energy form the surrounding plants and animals. Once he was done, there was an area of death 20 feet in diameter all around him, but he was fully recharged. He thought about following them again, despite Mya warning. He wanted to kill her and her pack, for no reason other than to kill them, and he knew that if he was going to he would have to kill Mya before she reached her pack. The only problem was that as long as Nachel was with her, and she with him, it would be nearly impossible to do. He thought on the subject and started walking in the direction they had gone.

He nipped her side playfully with the edges of his teeth, then sprang nimbly away so he was out of reach. She leaped after him, catching his flank lightly. She darted away, breezing past him. He flew after her, jaws open in a wolfish grin.

None came to mind right away. Suddenly, he heard the sounds of quick moving feet on dirt. He snapped his head up and felt stopped dead ini his tracks. Ahead of him was Mya and Nachel. They looked to be playing. Kurdon quickly headed off the path and behind a bush. Lucky for him, he was down wind of them so his scent would be blown away. He continued to listen, wondering if they had noticed him.

She didn't smell anything, so it was probably nothing. She sprang onto her mates back, making his legs buckle and pinning him beneath her. He twisted around so his back was to the ground. His muzzle reached up to her snout and snuffled at her affectionately, tongue warm and comforting against her fur. She nuzzled his neck gently, grunt whining softly.

Re: You Just Can't Know Unless You Jump Kurdon shifted as lightly as he could and peered at them threw the bush. He saw them them onto of one another. Kurdon may have been a cold, heartless murdered of families, but he still knew love when he saw it. A pang of jealously shot threw him, but was going as soon at it came. He had no use for love, or those that were in love. He loved splitting up couples, along with burning villages, it was one of his favorite things to do. He would have liked to attack them right now, but he knew that he couldn't and it annoyed him that he couldn't. Of all the people and things he had met over there years none of them had made him plead for his life as Mya had. He began to grow angry at her, and clutched his hand around his sword, but remained where he was.

He buried his snout in her scruff, grooming tenderly with the edges of his teeth. She laid her head on his shoulder and let her eyes fall closed, contentment spreading through her mind. Though a ruffle of unease wrinkled her thoughts. Did I do the right thing, Nachel? she asked her mate. He paused in his grooming. For what, princess? he replied, confused. She sighed. For making him submit. You know I hate doing that, even if he's not a werewolf. she murmured. He snuffled at her face soothingly, his tongue drawing over her closed eyelids softly in comfort. I do not know. I'd say you are Alpha, whether he's a twoleg or not, but that would not be fair. I think you did what you had to; he would not back off, so you responded accordingly. he said. She chewed that over in her mind, then said. I guess your right. I still hate it when I do that. she sighed again and relaxed.

He watched them for a while longer, wondering whether or not to attack them. He wrestled with the thoughts for some time. After a time he came to a conclusion. He would attack, but he would wait until they went to sleep

In the end, with a sharp nip on her hip, Nachel won out. The she-wolf settled with a discontented huff into her mates side, curled up neatly into a tight ball with her tail over her nose. Nachel curled around her and laid his head across her back, ears and eyes pricked alertly for movement. His golden eyes almost glowed in the darkness, a trait of the wolf that was useful. Wolves could see excellently at night.

He moved from the bush to a ditch, staying out of Nachel's line of sight. He extended some energy to behind Nachel and picked up a rock tossed it. It hit Nachel on the head with a soft thump. He made some bushes on that side rustle as if someone where hiding in there. He waited to hear the sound of movement.

His eyes darted to the bush, pupils narrowing. He raised his snout to the wind and sniffed carefully. Nothing predatory, and no prey. Maybe the wind ruffled the bush. He curled around his mate tighter, covering her small body with his bigger frame. He slowly lowered his head down to her back, his jaw resting on her spine, but his eyes continuously raked across the landscape.

But instead of leaving her, he stood over her body protectively, head lowered in threat. With a casual flick of his tail, he sent a small blast of energy toward the bushes, shredding it to pieces. Nothing was behind it. He sat on his haunches beside his mate, his tail draped over her back.

His eye twitched a bit and he sank back down into his ditch to think of another way to get Nachel away from Mya. Then Kurdon remembered that he could use his energy to throw his voice a small distance. He peaked back over the ditch and infused his voice with his energy. When he spoke, it sounded as if his voice was the ditch was coming from the ditch that was behind Nachel. "Awww...how cute. Look at the little doggies all curled up for the night..." He said mockingly.
