 Yeah, I don't think they've started filming anything yet, but when they do, we can expect a trailer. I think right now they may be writing the script and basically planning everything out. There's no way of knowing for sure though, obviously lol. Hopefully soon enough they'll realize how terrible a choice Dev Patel is and kick him out..._________________

When do they usually start filming for a movie? Maybe about a year before it's release? And are we exactly sure when the movie's coming out- you know, like the month at least? I'm pretty sure they're filming in Greenland to get the whole South Pole setting. LOL Yeah, I hope somebody throws something at M. Night Shymalan's head. Maybe it'll knock some sense into him. By the way, the nominees for the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards are out. Unfortunately, Avatar's not in it this year, but I would expect that because it hasn't aired in a while and the show ended. Oh well, I guess it's another win for Spongebob! Yay!!! [Sarcasm intended] Vote here  http://www.nick.com/kids-choice-awards/vote.jhtmlI wouldn't be voting because Avatar isn't in it, but since Linkin Park is, I'll be voting every day.  _________________

And for some reason I'm thinking it's coming out sometime June... I honestly don't know where I got that from, but it just sticks out in my head for some reason. Lol sweet! I can tell the amazing scenery from the movie and the actual show are gonna match.
Somebody? You're the one with the boomerang! Charge!! Cool, I voted. Man, they should've got Avatar in there again. It just doesn't make sense to me... if a show wins the award one year, wouldn't it be smart to nominate it for the next year? If you ask me, Avatar should've been the first show nominated! LOL This is true. But I lost it in the finale- I mean, when we were taking out the naval fleet during Sozin's Comet. Yeah, the show won two Grammy's recently (I'm pretty sure). Does anyone even watch The Fairly Oddparents anymore? And don't worry, I voted for the Simpsons too lol. _________________

Re: avatar rocks I think it's always cold in Greenland, but either way, they need to begin shooting soon if they haven't already. There are a whole lot of other scenes in season one besides the North and South Poles.

If he's lazy, he'll probably keep his traveling limited... and then the movie won't turn out like the actual show, you know, with all its amazing scenery?

I bet they're pictures of Noah Ringer. I hope they do a good job with the special effects on the bending. I've seen some amateur-made things similar to it on Youtube, but they weren't all that good. Maybe this could be M. Night's one talent. I know choosing actors isn't lol _________________

Re: avatar rocks They need to travel a lot, since the Gaang travels a whole lot... so it starts in Greenland for the Southern Water Tribe, then they'll have to go somewhere for the Southern Air Temple and Kyoshi Island, Omashu, a large lake or ocean for Imprisoned... assuming they actually stick to the original plot line.
Noah Ringer? Why on earth would that be it? It's not like he's the main character of the movie or anything! Why would we want to see a picture of him?! M. Night Shymalan has no talent, sorry to admit it. |

Our cousin (forswornmonk) just called and told us that they're shooting for The Last Airbender near where they live, at a building called the Pagoda. It's supposed to represent one of the Fire Nation temples, and I must say, it fits perfectly! They also might be coming to Philadelphia, so if they do, I'm going to go down to see them immediately!

I think the movie can't turn out that bad, guys. I mean seriously, have you seen those booya-material special effects that they're using nowadays? I mean, they're more than good, they're great! (de ja vu...  ) Avatar will be packed with those special effects for the bending and whatnot, so expect a lot out of that aspect. Regarding the cast.. well, the only one I'm completely against would have to Dev Patel. Other than that, I see this movie as a must-see. *Share opinions, agreements, and disagreements now.* _________________

Re: avatar rocks Yeah, I'm sure the special effects are going to be perfect. I was listening to an interview earlier and they were talking about how Star Wars had such great special effects, even though it was made like 10 years ago. And Transformers was pretty good too, so Avatar is definitely gonna turn out good. I've even seen some amateur-made ones on Youtube that weren't half bad.
As for the cast, I can see Jackson Rathbone doing a pretty good job with Sokka, however I think and hope the actors for Ozai, Zhao, and Iroh are a joke. They look nothing like them! It's completely pathetic; I would have expected something much better from such a famous and well-known move director. M. Night Shymalan was probably too high on cactus juice at the time! Lol but seriously, I hope they find some better people to play them. By the way, if anyone hasn't seen them already, some more pictures of the set are confirmed. Re: avatar rocks I'm not sure if it's going to be produced by Nick or not... the movie Hotel for Dogs was produced by them and it made it to theaters, right? Maybe that'll be the same case with The Last Airbender. I don't know though.. I'd prefer a bigger company to produce this movie. Better special effects, better quality, and probably higher expectations. Besides, like Arya said, Nick has a bad attitude towards Avatar anyway.
Here we go... lol. You're right though, he is a much better choice for Zhao. The whole cast needs improvement. Plus, if someone well-known, like Hugh Jackman, took the role as someone in the movie, it would attract more viewers. Luckily we already have Patel for that._________________

Guys, guess what? One my my substitute teachers and swim coach from our school is going to be in the movie! His name's Mr. Shire, though I have no idea what his first name is. He has a side role (fortunately); he'll be playing one of the Fire Nation soldiers. If I imagine him with the Fire Nation uniform and the helmet, he actually looks like someone from the show. His hair isn't suitable, which is fine though, since his helmet will be covering it. Plus his facial hair reminds me of the soldiers. I'm jealous though. I wanna be in the Avatar movie. lol maybe I can audition for a second role somehow... _________________

Yeah ... if it wasn't on Nick it would definitely have the freedom to appeal to older audiences... some of the things on there would be a lot more powerful if they could show them .. Like when Katara had to witness the death of her mother when she was around 4 or 5 years old ... You can watch it online! If you ever want to, I can link you. The finale just makes the whole show 100 times better. It was kinda more kiddish in Season One and early on. |

Yeah, if you've noticed, M. Night has never based the characters in his movie on anything but his own imagination. He makes up the people and chooses the right cast for them. But now he has to actually reenact something that's already been created. He has to replicate the character development displayed throughout the show, the attitude of the characters, and even the looks of the characters! I just don't think that anyone can get them all perfect, no matter how hard they try. Avatar simply can't be recreated. I guess he can go ahead and try though. What's the worst that can happen? The original show can't change from this movie. We'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best lol. Do you guys think he'll alter some major things in the story? Like the shipping outcome? _________________

How bad can it be, Sokka? With that ding dong directing it can get pretty bad. The sole reason he picked Dev Patel for Zuko was the fact that he was in Slumdog Millionaire and he was 'impressed' by him. I see no reason behind choosing Jackson Rathbone. Sokka and Jasper have no similarities. Plus the actors have the wrong skin colors. Just 'cause it's Avatar doesn't mean it will turn out good. It can be quite bad. Like it's turning out to be. |

Re: avatar rocks I think the cast is fine right now as it is. I realize the skin colors don't match up at all, and maybe they look nothing like the characters from the show, but remember, they're actors. If I remember what the definition of actors is, it means they can pretend to be someone else and change their personality to suit them. So since that's covered, we move on to appearance and the vast world of make-up. You'd be surprised, people can look much different than they originally do with the right amount of make-up. Either that, or they can get face-lifts to look like the Gaang, though I doubt they'd do that. (For the record, I don't want them to do that)
Music... well, the The Last Airbender soundtrack will probably be a short one, and I think they'll take songs from the show and alter them a bit, perhaps to make them more dramatic or "life-like." I have a feeling they won't take songs with lyrics, or popular rock songs. Avatar has a genre that isn't very well-known, if you know what I mean. _________________

Re: avatar rocks Well, yeah, pretty much. I think the movie will be like that, too, since nearly the whole cast is white. So do you guys think they'll have the same music from the show, like credits music, etc., for The Last Airbender's soundtrack?

Anyway, I agree completely, he looks like he's way too young, his outfit isn't even correct, and look at his stomach! That kid is way too fat-looking to be Aang, sorry for being mean lol. But seriously, look at his face. Does that look like Aang to you? To me it looks like some random 4th grader trick-or-treating dressed up as Aang as his costume. _________________
