Skills:
Combat- Mirriana is a very skilled fighter both in the air and on the ground. She has extremely fast reflexes and a knack for spotting weaknesses in an opponent’s defenses. Like her brother, Mir is very fast and agile and possesses great physical strength.

Stealth- Mir is very quiet, both when she is walking and flying. You won’t be able to hear her wing beats until she is almost on top of you. She knows how to hide consciousness from most people so they can’t detect her.

Mind-breaking- Mirriana can break into minds very easily. She prefers to respect the privacy of others but she will not hesitate to crack the mind of an enemy. Once she is inside their mind, she can read their thoughts to predict their movements, see their memories, or use her enrage ability on them. Worst of all, Mir can break into minds so subtly that only someone with strong mind defenses can detect it. Foot soldiers, villagers, and other random people would never even know that their minds have been broken into. Mir must use this ability carefully and sparingly though. While it does not require a large amount of magic, it requires that she make her mind vulnerable which may allow for a counter attack. She also can not break into minds that are protected by strong mind defenses.

Enrage- Mirriana has the rather humorous ability to make people around her so angry that they will begin attacking each other blindly. This ability requires her to break into the minds of the people around her first. When the skill is used, the victim becomes blind with rage and will attack anyone else nearby. This ability is useful against any species and race just so long as she has broken into the mind of the person she is targeting. It is useful for distracting enemies who are coming after her. The only downside is that Mir has no control over who the enraged victims attack. It has the potential to backfire miserably as the enraged people may attack her as well.

Hair: Plumage like that of a golden eagle. The fur on her feline half is like that of a white lion.

Eyes: Orange.

Home Village: None. Hatched in the Boer Mountains.

Parents: Taggart (father) and Elees (mother) Both were murdered by Agatha when she enslaved Fletcher.

Siblings: - Four brothers (including Fletcher) and one sister. All were murdered by Agatha except for Fletcher, who Agatha kept as a slave.

Character Personality: Mirriana has a short temper. She is very proud and does not put up with nonsense or insults. She is a bit antisocial and prefers to be left alone. Mir is a nomad. She prefers to move from place to place and never stays in one location for too long unless there is a good reason to do so. Her rough and traumatic past has made her cold and ruthless. She is not cruel and does not deliberately look for trouble but if you get on her bad side you had better watch your back. Mir might let you escape with some injuries if you’re lucky. She is bitter toward humans for what they did to her family. However, in spite of the bitterness in her heart, Mir is not without compassion. She detests those who would harm innocent people, as she herself has been in such a position. Although she is reluctant to help people in trouble, her conscience will not allow her to turn her back on them. Mir wants to find the people who killed her family and took her brother and to find out what happened to him. Fletcher was her big brother and she was closer to him than to any of her other siblings, and possibly even her own parents. It is because of Mir’s relationship and respect for her brother that she helps people in need. It is what her big brother would want her to do. Although Mir is too proud to admit it, she is really lonely at heart and longs for companionship.

Character History: Mirriana was born in the Boer Mountains. Her early childhood was rather uneventful though she did have a close bond with her older brother Fletcher. She loved him very much and he was her primary role model. She loved the rest of her family but her brother had a special place in her heart. Then one day disaster struck. Several humans led by a strange woman attacked and in the ensuing fight, both of Mirriana’s parents were killed. Then the strange woman examined each of the gryphon younglings until she found a suitable one to take with her. It was Fletcher, who had been subdued by the magicians who accompanied the woman . The woman ordered the rest of the siblings killed. Fletcher made a fierce effort to break free and defend his younger siblings but was restrained by the magicians. The next thing Mirriana knew, one of the servants grabbed her by the beak and then she felt a sharp pain on her neck as they ran a knife along her throat and tossed her body aside. The last she saw of her brother, he was being dragged away. She felt the blood running from the gash on her throat and then she lost consciousness. The next thing she knew, she awoke to find herself in a cave with a female elf named Reina. Reina was a former Dragon Rider who had lost her dragon in battle. She had found the wounded gryphon and healed her wounds. Unfortunately there was now a scar and strangely enough, a white line in her plumage which followed the shape of the scar. Apparently it was a very sloppy cut and had missed the artery in Mir’s neck. Reina cared for Mirriana and nursed her back to health. They spent many years together. Though Mirriana could not replace Reina’s dragon they still became close friends and Reina even made a saddle for her. Reina was a member of the Varden but she kept Mirriana’s existence a secret to keep the gryphon safe from Galbatorix. Unfortunately Galbatorix learned that Reina was helping the Varden and sent the Forsworn known as Morzan to track her down. Morzan intercepted Mirriana and Reina as they were flying back from a mission. Under normal circumstances Mirriana could have outflown Morzan’s dragon but with Reina on her back her abilities were reduced. Using her smaller size and maneuvering abilities to her advantage, Mir managed to avoid Morzan’s dragon while Reina dueled with Morzan using magic. Unfortunately Morzan was able to overpower Reina thanks to the eldunari he was using. In a last ditch effort to escape, Mirriana used her talons to slice open the membrane on one of the wings of Morzan’s dragon, reducing its ability to fly. As they were escaping, Morzan shot Reina in the back with a poisoned arrow. Though they managed to get away, there was nothing Mirriana could do to save her friend and Reina eventually succumbed to the poison, leaving the gryphon alone in the world. With nobody else to turn to, Mirriana decided to find out what happened to her brother. Her time alone has made her bitter, irritable, and cold.

Weakness / Fear: There is not much she is afraid of, but she is not nearly as physically tough as a dragon. She is susceptible to arrows, spears, and other projectile weapons as well as swords and knives.

Animal Companions: None.

Character's Physical Description: Mirriana is a very beautiful creature. She is slightly smaller than Fletcher which makes her a little larger than a horse. The feathers on the front part of her body are like those of a golden eagle: dark brown with a hint of gold on the tips. The fur on the lion part of her body is like that of a white lion, a very light shade of tan. Mir has piercing orange eyes. There is a diagonal line of white plumage on Mir’s neck which follows the scar where her throat was cut. She is also missing the tip of her left ear, the result of a fight. Like Fletcher, Mirriana has a fan of feathers on the end of her tail which helps her navigate in the air. They are the same color as the rest of her feathers.

Reason for Dreams: She loved him very much and he is the only thing she has to look forward to in life.
