 Troubling TimesOOC: Again, an rp based on boredom.
 IC: Elcyon landed onto a cliff that stood just above a small lake and a few patches of trees around it, trying to catch her breath. She had just come from a place filled with such drama, El had to escape it all. She opened her journal and leafed through it, surprised on how full it was. It was almost complete. There were only about twenty pages left. It was filled with her thoughts, her discoveries, and her true wishes and desires. Such desires would never be open for her. The darkness had claimed too much of her heart. El knew that if she were around anyone, she could hurt them. The darkness and evil was now becoming a war...a war over her true being. El looked at one of the pages, which held a copy of the paintings Equinox and herself had discovered on her home island. Just looking at those pages and thinking of Equinox made her heart practically leap out of her chest. I cannot be with him, she thought to herself, painfully, as she got up and flew down towards the lake for a nice drink of water. The night air was still, and the lake reflected that of the ancient stars above her. He could get hurt! I could never...I would not be able to live with myself. He had declared his love for her, and for what? To tell him to wait and then tell him she couldn't...El refused to remember such times. So many were lost and it was partially her fault. It seemed that no matter who she knew they would always get hurt...or worse...because of her. It was because of a curse that was placed upon her many years ago, when she lay dormant in her egg. It was the curse, that drew upon dark energy and bad luck wherever she went. It was all too much. This was a nice place for her, to live by herself at least for a while, away from the world. Sera looked at the sad young dragoness. She pitied the young one and revealed her presence. She walked out of the shadows and sat beside the dragon. She said, What troubles you young one? Maby I can help, I will if I can. Sera then looked intently and called upon her powers to create a small pool of water in front of them so that the dragoness could have a drink.  IC: Elcyon looked up with surprise as the blue dragoness landed next to her. Her name was Sera, apparently, with water abilities. She drawed up some water that seemed to be so refreshing, El couldn't help but take a drink or two. It was better than any water she had ever tasted in her life. Thank you, you are very kind, El murmured once she had finished. My name is Elcyon. It's nice to meet someone like you. She looked away, hesitent. I don't want to trouble you with my problems, but...well, it is difficult to explain. See, I have...abilities; abilities that can and will harm anyone that come in contact with them. People that I've loved have gotten hurt because of me. I'm so sorry, you don't even no me, and here I am, venting to you. Re: Troubling Times Sera laughed deep within her throat, I have been through a lot, you may harm me, but never kill me. Come let me see these powers, remember I am no ordinary dragoness. The water and ice shall protect me. I would like to see what has cause you so much trouble. Said Sera as she stood up and readied herself for whatever it was that the black dragoness did. She made sure her wards were in place and summoned a small ring of water around her, ready to form a shield if and when necessary. Throw it all at me, I promise you will feel better afterwards.

Re: Troubling Times Elcyon felt even worse, knowing that Sera had to protect herself in order to prevent anything from happening. But she knew it was only for precautions. El looked down and shook her head. I cannot show you the powers, I have no control over them. You see, I can't call on them, they just show up out of nowhere and I become this...different dragon.
El began to explain what was going on in the past few months, such as the changing into a shadow dragon that uses a shadow breath. It's been such a hectic time, and there were some...things that happened between Equinox and me. Re: Troubling Times No, I cannot say that I do. But I know one thing, you can't live life fearing what you might do. You will conquer the darkness in you and then you will be ok. I ... have another ability, I have white fire. It is not just a white flame, it has special abilities against creatures of darkness and shadow. There are few others I know of who have this ability, the only one I can thnk of is Gornath, Braith's teacher. But that is another story. Said Sera as she let the waters recede, she then looked and said, Remember this, you ar enever alone, no matter where you are. no matter what you do, there are those who will do the best they can for you, you need to remember that.

Ezerre flew low over the ground, thinking of the failure that had prevented him from helping out his home. It was his fault, he knew it, and no matter how much he had learned over the long years, he could not stop himself from stupidly blaming himself for everything. All of the dragons were probably waiting for him, wondering where he was, not knowing that he was bound in this land until ten years more. There was the other option, destroying Galbatorix, a war that seemed to be nearing the climax. Even so, though, he could not be sure how much longer it would take. Suddenly, he snapped out of his thoughts as he noticed a pair of dragons below him. He recognized Elcyon, whom he had met before, and another dragon that he had not seen before as well. He decided to land down and see if anything was going on. Greetings, he said to both of them. Then, to the one he did not know, he said. My name is Ezerre, and you don't have to worry, I'm a friend. _________________

Re: Troubling Times Elcyon nodded, defeated. My powers are unstable, okay? Whenever I least expect it, I become this...different dragon. I feel myself battling against myself every day, but conciously I do not. I don't know how to stop it, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the evil that seeped into my egg when I was still within it.

She tried to avoid the topic of her island, to try to keep them away as far as possible so that they wouldn't get hurt. Re: Troubling Times Elcyon sighed once again and looked at the ground, defeated. Well, when you put it like that, I suppose I ought to tell you about my home island. You see, when I was in my egg, there were these fire demons that swarmed the place and burned everything. My egg was tucked away deep within the roots of this tree that I have eventually called The Tree of Prosperity.
El looked past them, memories coming back in quick flashes. Something happened...that got rid of the fire demons. After that, the island began to recieve life once again. But something was causing the tree to have a barrier around itself so that no one could approach it. If any living thing should do so, they become sick or worse...die. But I am the only one who can approach the tree without any symptoms. After much research, I later learned that a curse was placed upon me when evil was extracted from the tree. The evil had to go somewhere, and therefore, went to the nearest life source. She bowed her head, avoiding their gazes. And now you see why it is that I try to avoid anyone I meet, including ones that I love... At that moment, she pictured Equinox, and her heart clenched painfullly in her chest at the memory. Re: Troubling Times Ezerre nodded. I think it might be a good idea to go there, he said. It's probably where we will be able to gain the most information from. There was no curse that could last forever, he knew that for sure. Eventually, there was always something that stopped it, no matter how long it took or how many people died in the process. If they could find the source of the evil, then maybe they would be able to destroy it or anull it. Even if they couldn't, as long as they were able to find out how to do it, they could eventually achieve it afterwards, maybe with more help.

But when we arrive, she said more seriously, You have to do exactly as I tell you. If I tell you to run, you do so without question. If I tell you not to go somewhere, I expect you not to go there. If I ask you to leave the island and never return...well, I certianly hope you do so, for your own sakes. Do I have your word? she asked, refering to both of them.

Re: Troubling Times Sera took to the air for a short distance, bu tonce over water, she dove into it. She swam strongly through the waves, as fast as a dragon could fly. She dove in and out of the water, playfully. She was fully content in the water, it was her home.

On their way, some mist began to roll in off the coast, and it began to settle around them. She said, Now then, we can see to get to the island. she contiuned swimming, noting an odd presence in the water ahead of them, though the keept her throughts to herself.

Re: Troubling Times Ezerre felt a little more reassured as Sera rid them, for now, of the mist, but he started to get a bad feeling. He could tell there was evil somewhere ahead, but he did not know what or where it was. And farther from that lay the island, which now that he thought about it more, seemed a little more menacing than when he had first heard about it.

IC: Elcyon continued on in silence, knowing just what lay ahead for them. The protection of the tree banished much of the darkness, but a lot of that darkness was spreading out past the island, towards the ocean area where they were at now. El led them straight to it, knowing where exactly they were supposed to go. Inland is where the tree is located, El informed them with a hint of nervousness. The tree itself is located at the center of the island. Ezerre gazed ahead at the darkness of the island, which, as they neared it, started to enclose all around him. It was an uneasy feeling, though he showed nothing of it on the surface. More than the uneasiness, he was almost curious to find out what it could be that was happening on this island, and wondered whether there was more that Elcyon knew that she was not telling them. _________________
