I want 2 b a writer when Iget older, and have already written one book,and have started on another, and have ideas for a lot more. But I want to know what people are interested in reading so I can write more on that subject. So tell me, what is your favorite Genre?

I love both Sci-fi and Fantasy, but have enjoyed several non-fiction books as well. Theres a lot of great stuff in both genres, so I can't really chose.

si-fi is good but i like fantasy better

I don't like fantasies most of the time because of their absurdity. What I mean is all the weird names, and that nothing makes sense, it all seems like madness to me.

But there are two exceptions so far....

I go more for scifi, military fiction, thrillers, historical nonfiction.
I also read bio's of people I find fascinating( the Kennedy's, Martin Luther King, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson) or people that I don't understand(like Adolf Hitler and his madness).

Also I like Dean Koontz style of books-horror/thriller
So basically I like everything but fantasy(and anime/comics/graphic novels)!

ugh, there's too many to choose from. i'll basically read everything and anything. but favorites would have to be horror, sci-fi, suspense (really synonymous to horror), and fantasy.

I don't read very many books so i would have to say fantasy is my favorite type.

believe me, i was the same way before....but i got the unfortunate experience of living without them. believe me, you get over books. lol. although i still love them.

i picked science fiction i like anything that has to do with magic, dragons and VAMPIRES so as long as it has one of those things in it then ill prolly read it!!

Yeah, it does. That's why I read both the original and the manga version of Romeo and Juliet, that way I could better understand it.

i just look up all the terms they use on the internet. lol

Yeah, that's useful. In the copy I read, there were definitions to most of the odd words or phrases off to the side.

yeah, i like those types. saves me a lot of work. lol

I'm reading a book called Song of the Sparrow. Really sweet and sad.

As soon as I'm done with Brisingr (Yes, I am STILL reading Brisingr, I just find a lot of it very . . . SLOW . . .) and finish the Uglies Series, I'm going to take a break away from series and read single books, that way I am bound to nothing. lolz. THEN I'll get back on series! lolz. I still have a box or books by Anne Rice I got for Christmas to read, and I want to read Inheart before the movie comes out. lolz.

Wow . . . lots to read. All that plus all the fanfics I'm reading . . . YAY! But WOAH. I'm scared and excited. lolz. Cuz it's a THRILLER! KILLER!! lolz, sorry, I've been haning out with my cousin too much. (She's obsessed with M.J.)

yeah i'll pretty much read anything cuz there's alway some information/insight to get from it, and its different writing styles to observe

i like sci-fi but fantasy better
but i've found that my favorite books have fantasy mixed with a bit of romance

yeah, i like sci-fi movies better than the books though. cuz it makes more sense some times

yeah, and some of them don't describe the fictional technology well enough to imagine what it looks like

but some of them are good. like the Stargods series or something like that. but yeah, the TV shows do the sci-fi genre a lot more justice than some of the books

yeah, they pretty much are. some of them are a bit better than others, but they still fall in the same range

that's good. the genre could use some difference

yeah, the fantasy genre could use some caffeine kick-starts every once in a while

Science fiction can vary dramatically (see Firefly/Serenity)

Fantasy has the POTENTIAL to vary, but often times it get's caught up in cliche', which I ruthlessly try to break down in my personal attempts and worldbuilding and plotting.

but then there's those couple of people who get away from the cliche.

lol yeah. but its hard to find the few books that aren't cliche

yeah if you know what you don't want to do, you just don't do it

mate you need to give people more then 1 choice with a question like that.
