basically traditional fantasy I guess... the protagonists are children aged between 9-12 or so, who suddenly become involved in an epic battle between the forces of light and dark one summer holidays in the english countryside. Helping them is their great-uncle who is actually a powerful man who will aid the children and protect them from the dangerous forces of evil. There are five books in the series - and each one follows the children's journey to help discover the signs of light which will forever destroy the dark, which is rising. that is basically a summary of the series as much as I know it :D

hm, just finished it. I found them quite good, probably due to the fact that they were less 'modern' in the sense with a lot of powerful emotions and atmosphere

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. You preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runneth over. surely goodness and mercy shall follow mee all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever.
