Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Anyone is welcome to join IC: Syllwin was thrown to the ground, her neck being crushed by the talons of her dragon opponent. This male was twice her size, obviously much older than herself and much more experienced. She had been flying overhead when three rogue dragons descended from the sky and attacked her. Riding them were Shades. They were working for Qaeos.
"Qaeos has been looking for you for quite some time, Hobsyllwin," the first shade hissed, unsheathing a deadly poisoned sword. "Though he hadn't specified whether he wanted you alive or dead."
Syllwin let out an angry roar, shooting ice from her mouth at her assalants, resulting to the older dragon to crush her neck further. Her breath was ceased. She growled and roared again, furious beyond all belief.
You will wish you had never attacked me! she spat. I will come after you, I have your scent. I will hunt you down and kill you all myself! One at a time!
The Shades laughed, ignoring her threats as the closed in for the kill.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Lukasior was casually flying through the skies over the Empire, surveying the land below. He was in one of his darker moods, brooding about being the last Mirror Dragon in the world. His heart wrenched painfully as the faces of his family and friends flashed through his mind. He roared pitifully, increasing the beats of his wings until he was just a blur, trying to escape his pain. He flew for several minutes before another roar, this one from below, caught his attention. He pulled up abruptly, the sky and the ground below painting his mirrored sides with a myriad of colors.
He scoured the ground below with his black eyes, their pearl-colored irises narrowed in focus. It didn't take him long to spot four dragons in the middle of a fight. Three had riders, the fourth (a female from her body shape), did not. The female was pinned to the ground by one of the other dragons, while the other two waited above in the sky. Luka took the scene in for a few seconds, his blood slowly coming to a boil.
The female's next roar of defiance broke the trance. The Mirror Dragon loosed a deafening roar, pulled in his wings and angled his body into a dive. He slammed into one of the airborne dragons with a thunderous crack, it's spine had broken. Luka kicked off from the dead dragon and spiraled up at the other, who was staring at him with a dumbstruck expression. Before it could retaliate, Luka spat a stream of pearl-colored flame at him, blinding him long enough to dart behind him and bit him at the base of his skull.
Then he saw the dragon's Rider. The man had maroon eyes and blood red hair. Shade! he snarled, flaring his wings and twisting in midair. Luka's head darted forward, faster than the man's impressive reflexes could dodge, and bit him on the left shoulder. One of his teeth hit the Shade directly on the heart. Luka let go and flipped back off of the other dragon, letting him crash to the ground beside the other, his Rider exploding into black mist.
Luka completed his dive by landing heavily beside the first dragon, whipping his tail around to pierce the other rider's heart, just in case he was a Shade to. As soon as the black tail spikes connected with his heart, he to exploded into black mist. The Mirror Dragon faced his last opponent, snarling fiercely. Let her go, he growled softly, the menace in his voice dripping like acid.
The dragon glared at him for a moment, eyeing his comrades lying in the dirt behind the strange dragon with the mirrored hide. It released the dragoness's neck and lunged for Luka. The Mirror Dragon didn't hesitate, he reared up on his hind legs and presented the belly of his wings to the dragon and Shade. He released his power, his wings shimmering a bit as they became devoid of any images, except for the dragon and Shade's true forms. Luka didn't know what they were seeing (only the beings this power was directed at could), but it caused them to collapse and start screaming with fear and pain. Too late Luka realized that if the female looked up, she would be inadvertently caught in his power. Don't open your eyes! he yelled.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
The next thing Syllwin knew, a large dragon emerged from the sky, mercilessly killing the first two dragons and their riders. The one who had pinned her to the ground was challenged by the male. He ordered them to let her go, and the dragon immediately rose to the challege. Syllwin got up and shook herself, irritated if not frustrated. She was handling the situation perfectly fine and then someone had to come by and save her. It made her feel ashamed.
When she looked over at the dragon who had knocked the two aside, he stretched his wings and began to glow. A sudden warning told her to keep eyes closed and she had obeyed. Thinking quickly she took her right wing and sheided herself as the Shade and his dragon partner screamed in agony. The two had seen a dark part of them that had unleashed within themselves, consuming them, until they could not handle what they had seen. They had inexplicidly died.
When Syl felt it was safe to look, she brought down her wing and looked at the dragon, his power dimming. She looked at her previous attackers and then at the dragon, her right colored eye flaring to a crimson. You didn't have to step in. I was perfectly capable of taking things into my own claws. She snorted, her agitation still stirring. Then she asked, I have never seen a dragon such as yourself. What are you exactly? I have a friend who is silver-like, affilitiation to the stars...but you don't have that same metallic look.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka collapsed tiredly to the ground after the Shade and dragon before him finally screamed their last. He felt bile rise in his throat when he saw the looks on their faces. The Shade was even paler than before, his eyes wide and mad, his mouth askew in a silent scream of terror. Even as Luka watched, his body dissipated into nothing. Better keep an eye out for that one. I didn't pierce him through the heart, so he's not truly dead, Luka said quietly.
He looked sharply at the female, his pearl-colored pupils cool and ancient. Pardon my mistake. Next time I'll let them throttle you to death. Would you like me to hold any other helpers off while I'm at it? 'Oh she's fine, she gets into these messes all the time.' he said, looking her up and down coolly.
He snorted like he wasn't impressed, then grunted at her question. If you must know... I am not affiliated with the stars. I am the last of my kind. The last Mirror Dragon, he responded. He gestured slightly at his body, which was painted on the bottom half with images of the ground beneath his feet, while the top of his body was reflecting the sky. His sides were a mix of both, showing the horizon in all directions. If a person were to barely glance at him, they might not see him at all.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
I knew that, she snapped. He's been tracking me for the past couple of days. I only know because of his stench. I thought I outsmarted him but it turned out he had friends in...higher places. He answers to Qaeos, a general gone mad who enjoys torturing other dragons for his sick enjoyment.
Syl's breath huffed out in ice crystals, a snort of contempt. If you must know, I was handling things just fine. In fact I had a plan that would have left them confused...oh, what am I going on for? I don't know you and it's best to keep it that way. She shook her head as she listened to his explination of being the last Mirror dragon. I am sorry that such a thing is burdening to you, she added, softening slightly. Maybe you'll have better luck searching for your kind elsewhere, like in the west. Most of that is unexplored.
She shook herself again, rotating her wings from the stiffness in her muscles. Thanks for the "help" but I think I can take it from here. Syl lifted herself into the air, deciding to head back to her homeland to hide out from the Shade until she could come up with a better battle plan. Goodbye, Mirror dragon. Hopefully our paths won't cross again. It's safer that way.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Natsu could hear the chaos from miles away. Erza was away hunting, but he was curious in the sounds of struggle that reached his hearing from such a distance. His curiosity got the better of him, and before he knew it, he was taking off towards the noises at full speed. The landscape was a blur around him, but he payed no attention to it. His gaze didn't waver, looking straight ahead. Even at full speed, he didn't quite make it in time. When he arrived, the chaos he had heard from miles away was actually a fight between dragons. He had expected the fight to be on such a scale, but it still surprised him. And on the backs of those dragons were beings with pale skin and maroon hair that reflected with the color of blood.
Shades! Natsu grimaced. Such beings couldn't possibly be up to anything good. It's not that he was prejudiced against them for no reason; only spirits with a sickening desire for a host would ultimately result in the creation of a Shade. Spirits with a desire for power.
However, a dragon was currently dealing with the beings. The ferocity at which he fought was magnificent enough, but the way his scales reflected everything caught in their glimmering glare awed Natsu. He had never seen a dragon with such magnificent scales. Was it even possible for them to shine so brilliantly? He had no idea, but he casually drew closer as the dragon with the brilliant scales finished off another dragon that was holding down yet another dragon. As he came closer, he didn't recognize any lines that formed into squares on the dragon's body. In other words, it had no scales. It's body was like...a giant mirror.
Natsu heard the dragon talking about how he was a Mirror Dragon. The last Mirror Dragon, to be exact. The dragon he had saved then rose into the air, bidding him farewell. Before she flew off, Natsu made himself known. "Wait. Excuse me for eavesdropping, but I couldn't help but overhear that you were being tracked by someone? Qaeos, was it?" Natsu asked innocently.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka snorted and looked away as the pearly-white female took off. Mirror Dragons were rare to start with. I highly doubt there are any more anywhere in the world, he said shortly. He tried to conceal it, but there was a note of loneliness and an ache in his thoughts. He bristled when she said she no longer needed his help. His lip had just started to curl into a snarl for a quick retort when he heard something move behind him, and then a two-leg's voice.
The result of the spoken words on Luka was instantaneous. The Mirror Dragon whirled around with a sharp, piercing snarl, which quickly grew into a menacing roar. His pupils narrowed to slits and pearlescent flames flickered between his sharp teeth. What do you want, two-leg? he hissed, his wings lifting from his back slightly and his tail lashing against the ground.
If Lukasior had been one who was inclined to explain himself, he perhaps would have told the others that two-legs were responsible for the slaughter of his race. But he wasn't, and so he did not.
He continued to watch the two-leg closely, his muscles so tense that his body was trembling. The strange images that sometimes flashed across his body showing images of the future appeared then, dancing across his hide so quickly that even if he had noticed them, he probably wouldn't have seen much.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin felt a stab of sympathy in her heart for the mirror dragon, even though neither of them showed their emotions. There was a hint of pain behind his words when he said he was the last dragon and that there was no chance of finding any more of his race. She didn't know what she could say to make him feel better, but as she began to fly away someone had spoken up, asking her in paticular a question. It was innocent enough, but Syllwin couldn't take any chances.
Syl landed, taking a couple steps towards the two-legged being. Pausing for a moment as the Mirror's ferocity towards the person mellowed slightly, but not very much, Syl replied hotly, Yes, if you must know. As I said, he's demented and gets a thrill out of killing dragons. She eyed him suspiciously. Why are you so curious to know? Do you know of Qaeos? Are you in alliance with him?

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Natsu scowled at the Mirror Dragon, grimacing as the roar echoed through his sensitive hearing. "What do I want? I simply asked a question. In fact, it wasn't even directed towards you. What do you want, getting all hotheaded at me for no particular reason?" Natsu bit back. He narrowed his eyes at the dragon, calming his limbs in case he had to move quickly. Erza was right; he did get into trouble a lot, but he wasn't going to just sit here and take a dragon's misguided anger.
Natsu's eyes hardened at the other dragon's response to his question. "I don't believe I've ever heard of Qaeos before." Flashing his right palm, which bore the Gedwëy Ignasia. "I have a dragon of my own, so I'm not in league with him. "Someone who likes to torment dragons is a threat to both those dragons their Riders, if he or she has one," Natsu said. "If you plan to exterminate him, I'd like to help. If my help would be accepted, of course," Natsu added. He knew that if he just invited himself, that would arouse suspicion in the female dragon. Rather, if he let her decide on her own, and she said yes, then she would have to trust him at least a little bit.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka continued to growl at the man, even after the female landed beside him and walked towards him a bit. There was a glimmer of grim anticipation in his eyes, which told anyone who looked into them that even though he may not want to fight, he would not hesitate to protect himself. His tail lashed furiously against the ground, seeming to have a mind of it's own. The Mirror Dragon paused and looked the man up and down when he spoke against anyone who would harm dragons.
The mirror-bright male was so surprised when the man showed his Rider mark, the growl in his throat stopped so suddenly it sounded like he was choking. Luka pushed his head closer to the man, sniffing cautiously. There was fresh dragon scent around him, and it smelled happy, not scared or angry as it would have if he had attacked the dragon.
Lukasior drew his head back slowly, studied the man with guarded eyes for a moment, and then settled onto his haunches. I believe you mean no harm to the race of dragons. I apologize for my earlier behavior. You would understand my anger if you knew what I am and where I come from, he said quietly. He did not bow his head or show some other sign of contrition though. His pride and his well-developed sense of self-preservation would not allow it.
If you do not mind me asking Shur'tugal, where is your dragon? Luka asked, using the strange word for a dragon's pairing that he had learned while in this land.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin widened her eyes slightly as she examined the insignia, internally glad that he was only asking what had taken place and proved he had a dragon of his own. She nodded and growled slightly after the Mirror dragon spoke. And I apologize as well for being so suspicious. If you knew the people and dragons I have met in my past you would understand my hesitation. Qaeos does need to be destroyed, but I am afraid I have no idea where he could be at this point in time. He could be anywhere, she explained, raising an eye-ridge at the two-leg. You would be willing to help? He is very dangerous, you must understand that. His powers are immense, controlling, and have warped his mind. But I suppose...if you are willing and offering freely, then you may. Syl smiled slightly as she said that, impressed that someone, especially a stranger, would be willing to help in a situation such as this.
She looked at both the male dragon and the two-leg and the sighed. I suppose we should introduce ourselves. My name is Hobsyllwin, Syllwin or Syl for short. May I know your names? She then glanced at the Mirror dragon. You did have some pretty...cool moves out there today. I imagine I'll have to face that Shade someday. Would you like to come along? I'd rather fight than be saved, she joked half-heartedly.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Natsu tensed, not taking his gaze off of the dragon as it sniffed him for confirmation of Erza's scent. When it seemed that the Mirror Dragon was finally put at ease, Natsu sighed in relief. Strong as though he might be, there were certain. . .disadvantages he would face if he had to actually fight a dragon. Natsu noted how the dragon did not bow to ensure his regret at his previous actions, but Natsu had not expected him to. Part of having a dragon was knowing that their pride would rarely bend even slightly. He was surprised enough that the dragon had apologized. "Dangerous as though he might be, as a Rider, it wouldn't be fit for me to just sit back and allow a threat to dragons to worsen. Even worse, it would be unfit for me as a living being to allow you to tackle such threats without as much help as possible. Not that I'm saying you would need it. I'm sure you're more than capable to take care of yourself," Natsu spoke without hesitance.
The sudden gusts of air that buffeted the earth caused Natsu to glance upward. A large dragoness, gray in color, swooped to the ground, flapping her wings as she neared the earth to allow her to hover for a moment. Then, she lightly landed on the ground. Her tail immediately coiled around Natsu, wrapping itself in circles around his body. The dragoness then drew Natsu close to her, growling at the two dragons. The smell of death in the air put her on edge, and she wasn't quite as trusting as Natsu.
"Ah, Erza," Natsu murmured indifferently, struggling against the hold she held him in. When it seemed that she wouldn't budge, Natsu's skin hardened as black lines appeared on his hands. Then, Natsu pushed against Erza's tail once more, this time releasing himself with ease. He slid away and dusted off his trousers. "They aren't enemies," Natsu said to Erza in the Ancient Language.
Speaking to me in such a language won't lessen my suspicion. Saying it in the elven tongue doesn't make it the truth, only stating that you believe what you're saying, she retorted, not taking her gaze off of the two dragons.
Natsu sighed, then he contacted her privately and mentally. Be that as thought it may be, I know what I'm doing. If they knew that I had a dragon, they would have attacked me on the spot, before you could return. Seeing as how they didn't, I doubt that's their true intentions, Natsu replied swiftly.
Erza held her gaze for several moments, before nodding stiffly. I understand, she murmured softly. Then, speaking to both Natsu and the other dragons, she said, I am Erza, dragon of Natsu. I hope you understand my suspicion; these are troubling times we are in. Know now, that I harbor no suspicion towards either of you now. If my Rider trusts you both, I will as well.
Natsu nodded, a small smile on his face. "As my dragon said, my name is Natsu."

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka hesitated at Hobsyllwin's offer to join her in her fight against Qaeos, his eyes flicked from her to the Rider. I...would like that, he said stiffly. Ever since the humans of his land slaughtered his family he had been alone, avoiding everyone on the off chance that they became friends and then were killed. He couldn't stand to lose someone else. It had been a long time since then, and he would never admit it, but he was lonely. My name is Lukasior, but please, call me Luka, he said quietly, directing the thought at the Rider and Syllwin.
The back of his neck prickled and he looked up just as a rush of air struck the three of them. His pupils narrowed until he could see the grey dragoness coming in for a landing with the sun at her back. His lip curled up a bit out of habit, but he suppressed a growl, assuming that this was the Rider's bonded partner.
She didn't seem particularly pleased to find her Rider with two strange dragons, but after a second she seemed to relax and introduced herself. I am Luka, he said shortly, dipping his snout ever so slightly. He might not think much of Natsu, her Rider, but he could tell that Erza was a strong fighter and that he could respect.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin nodded her head to Erza, understanding in her gaze. You needen't apologize for logical suspicion. If I were you and had a Rider to look out for I'd be on edge as much as you were. It doesn't help the fact that Luka here has killed a few dragons belonging to Shades with the blood lingering in the air. As I was explaining to these guys, I'm hunting down a dragon killer called Qaeos. He's demented, and enjoys seeing our kind slaughtered, she said with a growl, recapping on the previous conversation. Though she wasn't particularily good at making new friends, Syl found Erza to be a dragon of someone with compassion and strength, a good ally to fight alongside.
I am glad you are willing to help Natsu, Syl replied, when he explained how everyone needs help every now and then especially with a powerful enemy at hand. I admire your courage.
To Luka, she replied, It'll be tough, but I can see you can handle Shades just fine. Though I am curious, you managed to kill that Shade without really doing anything. Your scales shined too, what was that all about? Do you mind if I ask what you did?

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Erza sniffed the air, curling her upper lip into a snarl. The scent of a Shade was putrid and unfathomably distasteful. The scent didn't settle well with her stomach, for she had just eaten. At the mention of the dragon-killer, Erza straightened indignantly. How much dragon-slaughterers are there in this land? she asked. It was a rhetorical question, aimed at no one in particular. I would love to help you. . .stop this man. For lack of a better term. Truthfully, she wanted to roast his insides and strangle him with her tail. Those bent on the genocide of an entire race were foolish. She didn't even fully support the Elders' choice of killing the Ra'zac. At the mention of how the glassy-shaded dragon killed the Shades with ease, Erza awaited the explanation with slight curiosity. She too was interested in how this dragon's body reflected all like a single, giant mirror.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka ducked his head while Syllwin was talking with Erza and Natsu, cleaning the gore from the Shades and the twisted dragons from between the spikes on his tail. His barbed tongue rasped lightly against his mirrored hide as he licked away the blood and bits of heart muscle. He tuned out whatever Syllwin was saying about Qaeos. She had already named him a dragon-killer, in Luka's book, he didn't need to know anymore. He paused in cleaning himself, a wary look in his eyes, when Hobsyllwin asked him what exactly he had done to the Shade and dragon.
I showed them their true selves. Normally the reaction is not so...violent. They must have been truly horrible beings, he said calmly, mentally bracing himself for the barrage of questions he suspected were coming. Whenever anyone heard about this ability of his, they always wanted to know more. Such as the pirate captain when Luka had been a youngster of only four centuries. He chased Luka up and down the coast of his homeland for years, before Luka finally tired of it and set fire to his ship. Luka might have tolerated it indefinitely, but the captain wasn't just curious. He had wanted to enslave him and use his power for his own gain.
His pearl-colored eyes settled on Erza for a moment, then he went back to cleaning his spikes. He noticed how unnaturally still she had became after the discussion of his power began.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Thank you, everyone, for your offer to help, Syllwin said truly grateful. She shared their despite even if she wasn't the most socialable of her kind. Dragons, after all, had to stick together if they were ever going to defeat the ones who wished to see the dragon race dead.
Syl listened to Luka's explination on how exactly his power worked. Already he seemed hesitant and uncomfortable at sharing this piece of information. She knows the kind of body language that someone has something to hide or is unwilling to speak about anything personal. She would know; Syl kept things to herself very frequently.
It shows your...true self, Syllwin repeated, raising an eye ridge. You mean, as in what is within our heart? She took a moment to absorb that, and then she nodded. Well in this case that power came in pretty handy. She didn't push anything else out of him, knowing that if he were willing to talk more about it he would have said something. Syl hated how others pushed information out of her and Luka seemed to be the same way.
Syl then said, Well, if we're going to get started we might as well stock up on food and gather our strength for the up-coming battle. I don't know Qaeos very well personally, but I know he's very keen on perseption and distraction. He can look like anyone. He looked like Galbatorix at one point in time but it was an illusion. My plan the whole time has been to fight fire with fire.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Erza nodded slightly at Luka's explanation of his power. She suspected that "showing them their true selves" had something to do with the fact that Luka seemed to be just a giant mirror. However, she didn't push the dragon for more information. Everyone here had secrets of some sort, and it would be foolish to reveal them all after only knowing one-another for about five minutes. If that is the case, then perhaps Qaeos has forgotten to mask his scent? If this were the case, then you could possibly sniff him out, Erza suggested. She didn't need to gather more supplies, for she had already hunted. However, gathering up strength sounded like a good idea. They didn't know much of Qaeos, but Syllwin had depicted him as being pretty strong.
Natsu crossed his arms, "Do you have an idea of where he might be? Even if you could distinguish his scent, if he's surrounded by a large mass of others, then the scents would mix together." He had some supplies back at his camp a couple of miles away, but he would wait until the essential parts of their plan were discussed before he temporarily left the others to get something to eat.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka was grateful when they didn't ask him anymore about his power. He curled his long, thin tail around himself and peered at the others coolly. I ate yesterday, I won't need to eat for a few days at least. More than anything, I am tired from using my abilities. I will remain here, or perhaps move to a safer location, while the three of you make your necessary preparations for the journey, he said, already looking around to gauge the area around them. He spotted a rock jutting about twenty feet out of the ground at a diagonal. The earth around it was free of trees, shrubs, and other obstacles for at least a hundred feet in each direction.
He flicked each of their minds, sending a brief image of himself sunning on the rock, then strode over to it. He climbed all the way up the rock, then draped his wings over each side and laid his head on the ground. He blinked at the others a few times to indicate he was content, then allowed his inner eyelids to close.
He watched Syllwin through the opaque lids for a moment, then reached out to her mind alone. No, it's similar to a true name. Your true self is the physical representation of your very being, it's your true name made visible. Sometimes people who already knew their true names have been driven very nearly mad when they saw it reflected on a Mirror Dragon's hide. It's one thing to hear who you are, it's an entirely different thing to actually see it, he said quietly. If she still wanted his help after hearing that, she was a very brave dragoness.OOC: This is Luka's first rp, and he has a lot of strange abilities that I'd like to show off, so feel free to have your charries see stuff on his skin. (Check out his bio for more info.)

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Oh totally. That'd be cool, ooo I just got an idea!!! I'm gonna try it out. heehee.IC: Syllwin thought for a moment, frowning in concentration, as her new companions questioned whether Qaeos had remembered to cover his tracks. She certianly captured his scent, no doubt about that, but he could have taken precautions. He was as brilliant as he was evil. We'd better stay on the lookout anyway, even with a scent, she finally concluded. He's cunning, I'm not sure what tricks he would pull. However, the last time I had seen him we were in the Beors. He seems to hover around the mountianous regions. Perhaps we should scout the base of the Spine and pick up some clues. Those are the only two places I would think he'd pitch camp. His minions had ambushed me from the west anyway, it's a good place to start as any.
Luka had spoken to Syl, explaining how a true self is similar to a true name, only it increases ten fold. She cocked her head up at him, listening to the explination. When he had finished, Syl was in awe at the raw energy his scales produced, more so of what it could do to good and evil sides of a person. It's almost a bitter-sweet ability isn't it? she murmured. To find out what you're like on the inside and yet the very possibility of being unable to handle it. There was a guard in Luka's expression, as if he expected Syl to shun him after sharing such an incredible secret towards his power. Listen, I know what it's like to be different...granted, I don't have mad-driving powers, but nonetheless, they're strange. If you're still willing to come along and help, that's up to you, but-
Syl cut herself off when she captured a glimpse of Luka's side as it reflected in the sunlight. She stared at that piece of him for a moment, being drawn in by his mirror scales. For a moment, Syl went into a daze. Then, she saw...something...Luka and her...flying together...? IC: Is that okay?

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Can Erza see a memory of her past instead? If not, I'll remove it.
IC: Erza raised her head as silence passed for a moment. Luka's eyes were closed, but Syllwin had glanced at Luka. Either some silent message had passed between the two, or they were having a sort of mental conversation. Yes, it couldn't be anything else. The silenced moment was brief, but still noticeable. Erza wondered what had transpired between the two, for Syllwin had begun to stare at Luka's body in awe. Erza's eyes narrowed: was now the time to gawk at one another so curiously? No, Syllwin wasn't the type to prolong their departure just to marvel at Luka's body lustfully. There must have been someone else happening. Erza growled inwardly at being left out of the conversation, but supposed that it was for a reason. A flicker of movement along Luka's body caught her attention, and she directed her attention towards the movement. It was...three dragons, free-falling through the air. It seemed they could do nothing to prevent the sudden powerful force of gravity placed on them. They landed painfully, two of the dragons moreso than the other gray female. Erza's eyes widened, and she nearly snarled in outrage at Luka, but she held herself back, wiping away all emotion. She spread her wings wide and wrapped her tail around Natsu's torso, placing him on the saddle.
While he strapped himself in, Erza glanced at the others. We'll be back in a couple of minutes, she said shortly, taking to the skies. Natsu glanced at her curiously as she flew; what had caught her attention on Luka's body? Her and Syllwin both, actually. Is it anything you want to talk about? Natsu asked quietly.
Erza wasn't paying attention to him now, however. She was focusing on that memory that plagued her mind still even after the years that have passed. How...how did it appear on that dragon's scales? Did he have something to do with what happened that night so long ago? A snarl overtook her features and she flew faster, letting out her anger of the unknown in her flight.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Lol, actually I've never considered that, so I don't see a problem with it. No need to edit. Luka snorted, opening his eyes completely. Syllwin and Erza were both staring at him and the scent of their unease was heavy in the air. What? he asked, cocking an eyeridge at them. It was all he could do to not subconsciously check his side and make sure he didn't have something nasty clinging to it. The other eyeridge joined the other one as Erza took off in a rather disturbed fashion. Luka lifted his head off his paws to watch her go.
When she was no longer visible and the thunder from the beat of her wings was almost gone, he turned to Syllwin. What did I do? he asked in confusion. The unease of the two dragoness' was messing with the calm the warm sunlight had pulled him into. He restlessly sat up and stared at Syllwin for a minute, then decided to answer her question even though it sounded rhetorical.
I wouldn't know. I've never had the power used on me before, and I don't see whatever it is my victims do, he said pensively. He had always wondered what his true self looked like, but had never been brave enough to ask. And then before he could ask, it was too late. He sighed moodily, his black humor settling into place once more.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin shook her head after a minute, realizing that the image had vanished as quickly as it had come. She wasn't even sure what she had seen, but whatever it was both Luka and Syl seemed very happy in that brief moment. Syl wondered what it meant. When Luka seemed disturbed at having not only her stare at him like he had something hanging from his nose but so had Ezra. She must had seen something too. Before Syl could ask her what she had seen, Erza had stalked off with Natsu, allowing a feroucious roar out to the no one in particular. She sounded angry and hurt. Syl hoped that she would be alright, that whatever she had seen would not linger darkly in her heart.
She must have seen something too, Syl murmured mostly to herself. She looked up back at Luka, his confusion meeting her own. Luka, how well do you know your powers? I mean I know you don't know what happens to your victims, but surely there are other things that someone could see without going mad. Can someone see...the future in your scales? She was feeling nervous herself, but didn't let on that she was.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Erza descended on Natsu's small camp and averted her gaze. Natsu knew something was up and he unstrapped himself from the saddle and slipped off. He stomped along the ground until he reached Erza and he stood in front of her, his eyes fierce. What's wrong? It wasn't a question anymore, and Erza could tell that when she glanced down on her heart-and-mind-bond. Sighing, she dipped her head, going along with his wishes. However, rather then tell him what happened, she replayed the images through his mind. Natsu's eyes glazed over with sadness and realization.
He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. What do you think it means? he asked slowly.
Erza pondered this for a moment. I don't know. I don't think he meant to show me what he did, but it might be important somehow, she confessed.
Natsu's eyes narrowed. He's a Mirror Dragon. His body is like one giant mirror. He showed you something of your past, the images reflecting off of his very body as if it were real. It can't be a coincidence. Ask him about any. . .special powers of his, whenever you can. With all said, Natsu began to gather what he might need from his camp. There was no telling what they'd run into, so he hid Erza's eldunari in an unbreakable box before layering it with wards. No one could even touch it without his permission as it was now, other than himself and Erza. When that was finished, they returned to the clearing Luka and Syllwin were located in.
"We're ready whenever you two are," Natsu murmured.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka's narrowed, Syllwin mumbled something to herself, but before he could catch the meaning of the thought, it was gone. See the future? Yes, it has been known to happen, but it's rare. Why? Do you think she saw something? he said, looking straight at her, his eyes no longer half-lidded. He cocked his head a little bit and studied the uneasy look in her eyes. Did you see something? he asked sharply, standing up and walking over to her. Perhaps she had seen something that would help them on their quest.
The Mirror Dragon's head snapped up as he heard the roar of wind pass over Erza's wings as she landed close by. Same here, I'm ready to leave when you are, he said to Syllwin. He backed away and acted casually, like nothing strange had happened. Although obviously it has, he thought to himself, a wry twist to his mouth.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin blinked in surprise but narrowed her eyes as she opened her mouth to say something about the vision. However she was interupted by the sounds of wind from above. It was Erza, reappearing after going to prepare for the trip. She still appeared down, and Natsu had a dark look on his face. This was already starting out to turn into a mood-swing fest. She wasn't sure what to say to Luka, as he dropped the subject and was prepared to leave. They all were, including Syl. Luka dropped the subject, but Syl knew it wasn't forgotten, nor would it go away. If it was as rare as Luka stated, he was just as curious to know what she had seen, as well as Erza.
I can set aside my hunt for later, I...lost my appitite anyway, Syl murmured, taking a couple steps back. Our best bet is to head towards the Spine. Qaeos prefers the mountains it seems. It's a day's flight away from here, but if we don't reach it before nightfall we can always make camp and continue in the morning. Syl looked around at the dragonrider and the two dragons, feeling uncomfortable directing them towards an enemy. If anything she was surprised they were listening to her as she was the youngest, around 10 years of age. Syl opened her wings and ascended towards the sky. Then if you're all ready we'll take off now.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Natsu nodded, glancing towards the general direction of the Spine. If it wasn't Galbatorix, it was one of his crazed (ex) minions it seemed. The king seemed to hardly be a threat anymore when dozens of other powerful (though not as much so as Galbatorix, of course) threats lurked Alagaesia. Yes, we should leave as soon as possible, Erza said to Syllwin. She flared her large gray wings and flapped them several times, kicking off into the air. Natsu was a little skeptical as to whether or not they would be able to find Qaeos. The man could take the form of nearly anyone, and he could be anywhere in Alagaesia. If they did find him, they had to be extremely careful not to lose him lest he goes into hiding.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka jumped into the air, pummeling the sky with his wings to gain height and speed as quickly as possible. He leveled off beside Erza, debating about whether or not to ask the gray dragoness what had happened earlier. The mirror dragon watched her out of the corner of his eye for a moment, then decided to wait until she had had more time to calm down. With a subtle tilt of his wing, he slid to the right.
I think it would be wise to camp for the night, even if it appears as though we will make it before dark. It would not be wise to continue on if you are not at full strength. Perhaps you will have regained your appetite by nightfall, he said quietly. He receded from the other's minds, then allowed his own thoughts and musings about what the two other dragons might have seen on his hide swell to the forefront of his mind.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin took off into the sky after them, her mind still swirling around what had just happened. When Erza spoke to Syl, her eyes were glazed over with thoughts Syl wondered if they were about what she had seen in Luka's scales. But she didn't say anything, instead she flew closer to the dragons as they headed west towards the Spine.
As they flew, Luka mentioned how it definately would be wise if they made camp even if they made it by dark. Syl agreed, but when he made the remark about her regaining her appetite she felt guilt roll over her in black waves. She knew that remark may have sounded rude and cold but honestly Syl didn't know what else to say. She wasn't a dragon who could easily apologize. It would come out just as rude. Instead she remained silent on Luka's comment.
When we arrive we should keep an eye out for the tallest mountain, Syl replied, gaining slight altitude. Qaeos always seemed to enjoy being far up, she added darkly, remembering the time when she and Aaron had fought their way out of the maze within that mountain a while ago. Bigger mountains meant bigger space for tricks and traps.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Erza agreed with Luka about camping for the night. Then we can get a fresh start exploring the mountains in the morning, Erza added. On Syllwin's comment about Qaeos preferring to be high up, Erza asked, Then wouldn't he prefer to settle in the Beors? An averagely-sized mountain in the Beors would scale much higher over the tallest mountain in the Spine, she said. Although, the reputation of the Spine would keep most from entering their boundaries. On the flip-side, there were so much places to hide in the Beors that exploring them would take lifetimes. Natsu didn't want to shout over the wind, so he decided to let Erza speak for him in case he had something to say.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
That's true Erza, but he would also want to be able to escape quickly, which he wouldn't be able to do in the Beors. Their height would box him in and we could easily pick him off. In the Spine, he can flee over the mountains, Luke interjected, feeling the need to point this out. He hesitated, then decided to keep at least a tendril of his mind connected to the other two so that he could hear such discussions taking place.
The mirror dragon wobbled in the air as a cool draft of air spilled over his wings. He increased the tempo of his wingbeats and was soon out of it, then slowed again to let the others take the lead. Pearl-colored irises peeked over his shoulder at Syllwin and Erza, curiosity sparking in their depths. It had been so long since he had seen another mirror dragon, he had forgotten what one looked like in the air. All he could remember was a vague sense of awe as he watched his father all but disappear in the blue sky as his hide reflected the scenery and clouds around him. He supposed his strange skin was an advantage as camoflauge, at least until some light source or another gave him away.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
IC: If he were found in the Beors at all, that is, Natsu added. But there's too many dwarven cities in the Beor Mountains for Qaeos to make a satisfactory hiding place, considering he has dragons working for him. In the Spine, where there's no civilization, it's much easier to blend. Looking around for Luka, Natsu realized that Luka's hide was akin to having a spell to bend the light around him on indefinitely.
OOC: Wanna do a bit of a timeskip to arriving at the Spine, Astral?

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: FE you skipped me! rofl it's okay and yeah a little time skip would probably be alright. I'll put in my piece from talking about the Beors and the Spine and then switch it to nightfall. Sound good everyone?IC: Syllwin agreed with Erza when she pointed out that Qaeos may prefer to be in the Beors instead. He used to have a hideout there, that is until Aaron, an old friend of mine, and I stumbed upon it. He managed to escape, and I'm very sure that he is not there anymore. His henchmen had to of come from somewhere close by. Knowing what he's capable of, I'm sure he has stationed himself nearby so as these Shades could ambush me. She added, There are a few valleys and caves that are nestled deep within the Spine where no one would dare venture. And Luka's right, an easy escape is something Qaeos definately would keep in mind. She wasn't sure though if he was hiding out in the Spine, but it was a good start to look. Anyway it wasn't like they wouldn't notice the spiritual presences surrounding Qaeos. Since he has control over the Stone of Athamis, spirits could rise and attack anyone under his command. Such energy could be detected from a mile at least, to a dragon anyway. Syl only wondered if he planned on using it against them or having a more diabolical trap waiting for them.
----Time Skip---
The sun began to fall in the west, causing shadows across the land. Syl could just barely detect the outline of the Spine still quite a distance away. As it was nightfall now, it was time to descend to make camp. There's a collection of rocks just below us, Syl pointed out with her tail that was near a cluster of trees. That could make decent shelter. Let's rest there for the night and continue on tomorrow. That is, if everyone's okay with that, she added, not wanting to make all the decisions. It was a group effort after all and they didn't have to journey with her. In the back of her mind, Syl wanted to make them feel comfortable.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka flew silently along behind the others for most of the day, occasionally adding a word here or there when spoken to. When Syllwin pointed out the cluster of rocks near some trees, he agreed that it would make a good camping place. I'll sleep on top of those rocks. I'll be able to smell or hear anyone coming from a good ways off, he volunteered, pulling in his wings and angling into a gentle dive. He backflapped twice when he was almost to the rocks, slowing himself to a standstill before allowing his hindpaws to touch the tallest rock.
He was pleased to see that the top of his perch was relatively flat and even, perfect for keeping watch and resting. The mirror dragon crouched down on all fours, fanning his wings a few times before pulling them in. Natsu, I will have a harder time sensing anything coming through the trees, would you mind setting up a ward that will alert us to danger from that direction? he asked, using the brief contact to try and gauge how Erza was feeling.
He pulled back after speaking so that Natsu wouldn't notice his prying, but he was still a little anxious about her behavior earlier, and couldn't resist trying to discern the cause. He looked up at the grey dragoness, his pearlescent pupils gleaming in the night.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Even though the sun was beginning to set, the Spine was still a sizable distance away. Furthermore, Erza was more tired then she thought she'd be by such a flight. Not tired enough to not continue on, but still more than she thought. She had probably underestimated the distance between their previous location and the Spine. Or perhaps she was still a bit weaker than normal from her captivity before and during the Allatik War. Erza gently descended towards the cluster of rocks Syllwin had pointed out.
Upon reaching the ground, Natsu jumped off Erza's saddle and landed effortlessly on his feet. He briefly glanced at Luka as the Mirror Dragon asked if he could ward the direction of the trees. Yeah, that's fine, Natsu replied abruptly. The contact lingered for a moment more, making Natsu think that Luka was going to say something else, but it was soon severed. Shrugging it off, Natsu proceeded to ward the area in case danger presented itself. Natsu had specifically excluded small game likes wolves or bears from his warding, seeing as how none in their right mind would dare approach three dragons. And even if it did, Natsu himself was sufficiently warded, and the dragons all had scales to reduce the damage a bear or wolf could do to them grandly.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Sorry for the delay guys, work got in the way and then I got severely ill after that post I made. Oi how life is topsy-turvy sometimes. O.o Anyway I'll go now. Thanks for the patience.
IC:
Syllwin landed with the others after they agreed the spot would be suitable for the night. Syl found a comfortable spot below the level of which Luka had perched for the night about two feet off the ground, the angle was perfect for how she slept. She watched as Natsu placed a ward in which would alert them of pending danger. She felt it slightly, the energy emitting from Natsu, and was glad for the extra precaution though it may have been unecessary since there were three dragons together.
She watched as the others settled in, wondering to herself how was it she became so lucky to know great people/dragons that were willing to selflessly help her in her time of need. She would do the same for sure, but how Syl normally is prickly towards new aquaintences it was often difficult for someone to like her right off the bat. Perhaps it was because they now had a new enemy in common, considering that Qaeos setting out to kill dragons would make anyone spiteful towards him. Out of the corner of her eye, Syl noticed Erza appearing to be exhausted. But there was something else, even if she wasn't going to admit it to herself, but whatever she saw in Luka's scales obviously affected her. She wondered if Erza was going to be okay, but didn't say anything out-loud. Syl just wasn't very good at comforting others.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: It's alright I hope you're doing better now though. Thank you, Luka said to Natsu once the two-leg had completed his spell. He watched the pair settle down together, curious of the bond they shared. He could not fathom why a dragon would choose to be bonded to another in such a way, trading their freedom for the never ending noise that such a relationship would result in. The more he thought about it, the more curious he became, and it seemed like a safe enough question, so he reached out to Erza's mind.
Why would you choose to have a Rider? Wouldn't you be happier free and alone with the quiet of the wilderness, instead of ferrying a two-leg on your back everywhere you go, with the constant nonsense of his mind in yours? he asked, cocking his head to look at her.
He flicked his eyes up to peer at Syllwin, he could feel her watching them. He didn't know why, but he grinned slightly at her, before looking back to Erza.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: It's not a problem, Astral. Glad you're getting better.
IC: Natsu heard Luka's question, directed towards Erza, but he remained silent. He would let her answer for herself. A dragon and rider's bond was something that you truly couldn't appreciate until you had one yourself. The curious intent behind the questions was understandable.
Erza didn't try to hide the small snarl that twitched at her features. Ferrying him around? There's a lot more importance to our flights than simple transportation. Flying together is when our minds are at peace and merge with the most ease as one. It's the most efficient period of time for feeling complete, she responded. What might be considered nonsense in his mind to others is information that I need to know. Why do living beings have mates? I wouldn't be happier without Natsu because I would be just that: alone. In our years of being bonded, I've felt more alive and in-tune with the world then prior to our bonding, she explained.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: Thanks guys and I am much better =)
IC:
Syllwin watched and listened as Luka and Erza conversed, raising an eyeridge when Luka grinned up at her. What was that about? Was he being smug? Syl didn't question him out loud, it already sounded like between him and Erza things could heat up and she would prefer to not cause any more conflict. She did, however, want to put her two-cents in about having a dragon partner or not.
Being alone is what I'm used to, she said quietly. I wouldn't change it, I like having the freedom to go wherever I please without having to decide with someone else or to have the constant worry that the person who I bond with might get hurt at some point. That's how I've always lived. I can tell that a bond between rider and dragon is special, something that you would need to experience in order to understand the complex nature in itself. She looked at Erza, hoping it was kindly as that was her intent. However, I do enjoy the company of my friends whenever I go on adventures with them. Sometimes...it's nice not to have to travel alone. In tha sense, if I had the choice to choose to have a rider, I very well may pick that.
In saying both things, Syl hoped it was a way of being a "peace offering" so neither would say something the other may regret.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: That's good to hear Luka recoiled slightly from the reproach and anger in Erza's voice, his lips pulled back in a small growl that was trying to escape his throat. The mirror dragon suppressed the urge to snarl and looked at the ground between his forepaws, glaring fiercely at the small patch of earth for a few minutes before he looked up. I hear your words and the intent behind them, but her problem with me must be resolved before we go any further, he said to Syllwin, a tight grimness about his thoughts. He did not look forward to this discussion, anymore than he thought Erza would, if she knew it was coming.
The heat in your mind obscures what I'm sure is the true beauty of such a union to one who has never experienced it. Perhaps I spoke badly, but not so much that it required such a response. I would like to know what I have done to offend you, since I can think of nothing, he said, standing. His wings hung loose by his sides, ready to carry him up and away should he need to get in the air for a fight.
His pearlescent pupils gleamed in the night, looking like the numerous stars and the moon that dotted his skin. He eyed the grey dragoness below him carefully. Even though he thought he was older than she, she was much bigger than him, due to the fact that Mirror Dragons quit growing when they reached adulthood, which came a few years after hatching. He glanced at her Rider, his pupils contracting a bit with worry. We must clean the air between us. Something about me is bothering her, and I must know what it is before we attempt to fight anyone, let alone this dragon-killer, he said to the two-leg, giving him more-or-less the same message he had Syllwin.
He glanced at the Rider again, hoping that he would understand that this was the last thing Luka wished to do. The mirror dragon looked from Natsu back to Erza, the tip of his tail twitching slightly as he watched her.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin added her input on the situation in what Erza recognized as an argument that addressed both sides (Erza and Luka, in this case), and made points for both. However, she wouldn't rest with that, and it appeared that Luka wouldn't either.
Natsu stared at the Mirror Dragon long and hard for a few moments in an attempt to discern any alternate motive behind his questioning. Letting out a sigh, Natsu shrugged his shoulders. He spoke to Luka mentally, Suit yourself. But what you hear may not be something that appeals to you.
The Mirror Dragon asked Erza what it was about him that bothered her, and she snarled in response. However, what she saw in his scales wasn't something that she wanted to explain. No, it would be far easier to show Luka what it was that she saw in his scales. She reached out towards Luka's mind, knocking on the barriers that surrounded his mind. Mentally, she said, I need to show you what it was what I saw in your scales. I won't intrude in your mind, just let you view the memory as I play it within my own mind, Erza explained.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin didn't flinch when the snarl Erza emitted was solely directed at Luka. Whatever it was Syllwin was definatly not part of this, and Luka was right. The conversation they were about to have was not going to be a pleasent one.
Instead of getting too involved, Syllwin sat back and allowed them to work things out. If they were going to work together they needed to do just that rather than fighting one another. At this point, it was clear that Erza really despised Luka and it was unclear as to why that was. They all knew it was from what she saw in Luka's scales, that much was understood. But Syllwin had not seen that. Again, the image of her and Luka replayed in her mind but they were getting along and laughing that only confused her. She was still prickly about their aquaintence and how they had gotten off to a bad start. That was to be expected though, Syllwin almost always started off her friendships with a bad start. That was just her way.
Syllwin watched, and waited, to see what Luka and Erza would do next.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Luka rumbled his thanks to Natsu and flicked his gaze back to Erza. He felt a pressure on his mind as she contacted him, but she didn't say what was bothering her, although his heart squeezed with dread when she mentioned his mirrored hide. I see... Very well, he replied, opening his mind and reaching into hers. At the back of his mind, behind thick barriers, he was running through all the lore about his kind and his experiences since the death of his race. To my knowledge this has never happened to me before, but it's not uncommon among matured Mirror Dragons, or so Father told me, he thought to himself, waiting for the memory Erza wished to share.
He glanced over at Syllwin and saw that she seemed to be puzzled about something. He couldn't help but wonder what it was. The mirror dragon blinked and looked back at the grey dragoness before him who was still showing signs of tension in her body posture.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Sighing, Erza thought back--nearly a good decade prior to today. The memory was still fresh in her mind, and she played it through her mind, and, in turn, Luka's.
*
The bright moonlight glinted off of Erza's grey scales, as well as her mother and father's. Cruising peacefully through the elven-inhabited forest, but well outside their magic-protecting-boundaries, the three dragons felt at peace. While Erza would gladly hunt an animal, it was very unlikely that she would harm a forest unless it were necessary. Nature greatly appealed to the grey dragoness, as it just was. Its upbringing was meant in care and to foster the various animals that came by.
However, the next thing Erza knew, she was crashing through the trees, thrown down by a heavy force. She fell against the tree, then slid down the bark and came to land on the ground with a notable thump. The next bodies to land were those of her parents, crushed and mangled by some unseen force. Erza uncharacteristically whimpered upon seeing their bodies. She uttered a pathetic growl, daring the one(s) who had attacked her and her parents to show him/herself. In the condition she was in now, though, she knew she wouldn't stand a chance. Her left wing felt numb, and various branches had sliced its thin membrane. As she continued to wait in the same position, no one appeared. Not until an elf with somewhat long black hair came to her aid.
*
And that's it, Erza mumbled, tension locking her joints. She hated to think back on that memory, and other than Natsu, she hadn't shown it to anyone else. If the situation hadn't called for it, she wouldn't have shown it to Luka too. In that memory, she had felt so powerless. To this day, she hadn't found out who had attacked them without provocation. She wanted to though. She wanted to find whomever did this and make them regret their actions. That's what I saw flash through your scales.
Natsu narrowed his eyes as he watched the memory again as Erza showed it to Luka. That force that knocked down Erza and crushed her parents--he might recognize it. He didn't seek to bring it up now, however. Not when a dragon-killer was stalking the land.

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
Syllwin watched between the two dragons, watching their expressions as both seemed slightly distressed as to whatever memory Ezra was sharing. Whatever it was, it was grizzly, and it must have been painful for Ezra to share something like that. Natsu seemed just as tense, as though he wanted to comment on it. However, he kept his mouth shut. Strange things were occuring, not just to Syllwin between her black ties with Qaeos, but to the others as well. Luka was obviously new to his own powers, as his kind is on the brink of extinction and Ezra has ghosts from her past that are reappearing as though waiting for her to find out what it was.
She waited for the two to finish their sharing time, wondering if Ezra would ever get to escape the demons that haunt her, and hoped that Luka could give answers when others peered over at his scales.
Looking at his scales once again, Syllwin could catch a glimpse of herself perched upon the rock. Before she turned away Syllwin watched as her reflective self get up and fly into the sky, her white scales shimmering in the sunlight. Ice and snow surrounded her, and from around other white dragons following her. Just then, a dark dragon from above rained down on her, digging his talons into her back and wings, forcing her to crash-land. In a flurry of ice and dragon, Syllwin watched as red hazed the surrounding air.
She blinked a couple times and the image was gone. It was something Syllwin often questioned whether she was recieving messages from Icsys or was she witnessing something Syl may one day experience herself?
OOC: Sorry, spur of the moment the creative juices were flowing... lol

Re: Disgruntled in Distress
OOC: So Syllwin already knows she's a reincarnation of Icys?
Luka watched the memory play through his mind, his upper lip lifting away from his teeth in a snarl as he felt Erza's pain as she fell through the trees. Her realization that her parents were dead reminded him far too much of returning to his own home and finding the bodies of his friends and family. He shook his head to clear away the dark memories, hers and his own. The Mirror Dragon looked at the ground for a minute, his pearl colored pupils drawn up to slits while he calmed himself. Eventually he looked up at Erza, a look of understanding on his face.
I understand now. You think I had something to do with the death of your parents, but I didn't. Sometimes people just see things on my skin, either from their past or future. I can't control it, it's just one of the strange abilities of my kind. My father told me about this once, and what I should tell you is that if you saw this memory reflected on my skin, it's important.
