Post Faefnir, the Great Son and King of the Dragon Fortress chat
Okay, Faefnir is a relatively simple character. Really powerful, almost god-like, eternal protector and savior of Alagaesia. A good heart, untainted by darkness now that his evil side is gone.

However, if anybody has any questions in regards to his vast history, his abilities, or the Royal Family, please post here.

*snorts* Almost godlike? That's rather arrogant, don't you think?   jk, don't worry. We love Faefnir. :)

Hey, there's a section of my new charry Rigel's history that involves Faefnir. Basically it reveals that Phalynx's powers were transferred to her through a group of phoenixes. Rigel was really an evil one and tried to steal her egg, but Faefnir carried it away to safety in the desert and knocked out Rigel. I know that's a bit different from the way the hiding of her egg takes place in your fanfic, but do you mind?

Define "god-like".

I just want to question his name, lol. How exactly did you get it? From Fafnir?

Your only challenge in that 'god-like' power is Aeraldi, and he is still learning the depths of his power.

Post Re: Faefnir, the Great Son and King of the Dragon Fortress chat
draco, you have my permission to use Faefnir however you want. All the other members of the Royal Family can do that, so why not you?

As for the definition of "god-like," it is arrogant. But Faefnir is arrogant, albeit subtley. He believes it is his right and responsibility to save everybody. Think of it kinda like Superman, he can be anywhere and do almost anything, but he cannot save somebody or claim victory all the time. Emrhyst's recent death proves that. If you want to know Faefnir's true weakness, it's family. When family becomes involved, especially in regards to Phalynx, Star gazer, or the Twins, Faefnir can become a bit short-sighted. This is where his true weakness comes in. If an evil entity is able to surprise him, which is hard to do but not impossible, Faefnir is severely disadvantaged. To get family involved will push Faefnir to do anything to see them from harm--for details, read "Into the North" in the Archive and compare that to other situations he has been in.

His name. Now that's one I wasn't expecting lol. To be perfectly honest, I just threw some letters together without looking, looked at the screen, and than made some small adjustments.

The White Stag is an immortal deer that Faefnir met in his younger days before Galbatorix rose to power. I'll give you the short story behind their meeting:

When Faefnir was about 300 years old--again, Faefnir is a dragon of the Ancient World like Aeraldi is, so this all takes place before humans came, but after the elves arrival--he journeyed into Du Weldenvarden and left his parents at Stronghold. It was there that he saw a white stag of tremendous beauty and grace, who could run faster than any land animal. At first, Faefnir had no idea what it was, just that was an albino deer. Being a dragon of pretty fair size, he was hungry. So, he tracked and hunted the deer to a clearing in the northern part of Du Weldenvarden, just before the icey wastes of the Far North took over. He was about to kill it when the deer saw him and spoke to him through telepathy. Knowing that it was sentient, Faefnir couldn't bring himself to kill the majestic creature. So, he came out of camoflauge--Faefnir had figured out how to manipulate the air around him to make him invisible by this time-- and approached the deer. They quickly became good friends, despite the fact that the White Stag had no name in the tongue of dwarf, elf, or dragon. His name is as old as the forests of the world, and something only the trees and the lower creatures knew. Very few know it now since Galbatorix rose to power and ravaged the old trees, killing them. But since that day in Du Weldenvarden, Faefnir and the White Stag have remained close friends.

You wonder, I'm sure, "If they are close friends, than how come the Stag doesn't show up as much anymore?" Well, that answer is simple. The White Stag has now been charged with looking after the Twins, along with acting as Faefnir's envoy in his constant search for Rimfax, and being Star gazer's advisor while she rules the Dragon Fortress in Faefnir's absence. In case you haven't figured it out, that is the excuse I have given Star gazer for explaining her prolonged absence from the RPGs.

Yeah, I thought it'd be okay, I just wanted to make sure. :)

Like I said, Faefnir's cool, even if he does think a bit highly of himself. Hee hee. 8)

Are you serious? So I guess you didn't know at the time of the actual legend of Fafnir? The greedy dwarf that turned into an ugly wingless dragon of Norse and Teutonic mythology?

I wasn't even aware that such a tale existed! What a weird coincidence...

Haha, all this time I thought that's what you based it off.
