 Re: rock of kuthian
@bb: No double posting *winks and points to edit button* Glad to see you back Have you read the new excerpt from the last book?
@Imp: That theory has been bandied about quite often. Though that would mean the RoK and VoS are either in, or really close by, Uru'baen. One thing that bothers me about that is why would Galbatorix's vault open for Eragon, his most powerful enemy? That's like tactical suicide.

 Re: rock of kuthian
@Imposter: I still find it extremely hard to believe that Galbatorix won't keep his HOHs near him, so if ROK were his hiding place it would have to be near his castle and like Saphirarox pointed out, it won't open for Eragon. Which goes back to my old theory that it may not have anything to do with Galby (directly I suppose) @SR: Hahaha oops, silly me I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing. Yes I did! I'm so confused about where the werecats are gonna come into play!

@bb: It's alright Oh no, not that one. The new one. Go check out the announcements section.
@Imp: That goes without saying.
Wherever it's at though, it's gonna have to be between where the Varden is now and Uru'baen, or where the elves are and Uru'baen. Otherwise he's just gonna be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to locate this store of power.

@saphirarox Do you think that it could be as far as the hadarac desert or on the island of Eaom?

 Re: rock of kuthian
If it's in the desert then it's a real problem, considering the size of that place. One of the islands off the coast of Alagaesia, maybe.

Exactly, so why would the werecat be instructing Eragon to go near Galby when he's going to go there to kill him anyway?
@SR : WHAT NEW ONE?? caterpillar WAIT
Edit: 1. Why is it that when i typed o-m-g it became caterpillar?? 2. RORAN CAN'T DIE!! CP THAT ISN'T FAIR!! Eragon's trying to kill Galbatorix, but Galbatorix would protect himself - with his dragon Heart of Hearts, so he would keep them near himself.

 Re: rock of kuthian
Wait wait, I don't think you get my logic
See, if Eragon was instructed to go to ROK then to the VOS it was so that he could get help [in the form of an HOH or something] to defeat Galbatorix. So it makes absolutely no sense to have to go all the way TO Galby to GET to the ROK/VOS when the only time Eragon will meet Galby is when Eragon will kill him. Does that make sense?

 Re: rock of kuthian
I don't think that Galbatorix knows where/of the vault of souls. My guess is that the ROK is the rock mentioned in Eldest during Eragon's training. Here we go.............. The rock is called the rock of broken eggs or something, and here is the theory. This place is named because there was a large amount of dragons which once lived here before the dragons and elves trusted each other. The first Eragon, met his dragon and learned of HOH as sort of an afterlife of the dragons. So Eragon, with the help of dragons created the VOS. This is a secret place that only the first Eragon knew of where he preserved the dead dragon's souls and stored them to forever be at peace. The door would only open if the first Eragon's name was spoken.......... Eragon and Eragon a luck chance? Not! Eragon speakes his name to the VOS near the rock also the ROK and the vault opens filled with hundreds of dragons that the first Eragon had preserved. Eragon takes them and goes to kick Galbatorix's sorry behind.

I had that idea, but I thought the Vault of Souls might be owned by Galbatorix - and that is where he stores his dragon Heart of Hearts he stole.

 Re: rock of kuthian
That seems somewhat unlikely as he would probably keep them in somthing that Eragon couldn't access by saying his own name :S

 Re: rock of kuthian
I think Eragon has to say his true name, which is why the subject of his true name has been in every book, to open the Vault of souls - where all the dragon Heart of Hearts lie.

True, but perhaps they are somewhat similar to each other, both being the first good dragon rider of their time.

True, but it is likely that it has something to do with the VOS

 Re: rock of kuthian
Just thought of something...what if the ROC is actually an Eldunari? I mean, am I correct in thinking that Eldunari have different sizes depending on how much energy is inside them? It's prolly a dumb guess, but it just hit me.

 Re: rock of kuthian
That's a pretty good idea. There were some guesses that The Rock of Kuthain was a mountain that stored Galby's Elunari.

 Re: rock of kuthian
Personally I think that the rock of kuthian is somewhere in the mountains in the middle of the hadrac dessert. I recall somewhere in the books that it is stated that this is where the wild dragons went to die. I will look for a quote later.

 Re: rock of kuthian
i was a little dissapointed when eragon found eldunaris in the Vos. and even then, i hoped that maybe he would find some ancient eldunaris like the first eragon's dragon's heart of hearts (what?). i hoped he will find something from the Grey Folk or something else different than galby's source of power. it was a little boring when i read he found Hohs.

I thought it was pretty good. Mainly because of the dragon eggs so riders could continue.

 Re: rock of kuthian
Yeah, no surprises with the Eldunari, but I was still pleased. What hit me like a ton of bricks was all of those eggs. I mean, it wasn't totally unexpected, I had a nagging little suspicion, but I wasn't expecting that many. I actually got a little choked up when I imagined what must have been going through Saphira's mind. (Yeah, corny, I know.)

Same, it meant that you could continue the DR's and with Eragon leaving, another dragon would have to come to continue the offspring.

I know that Eragon found dragon heart of hearts somewhere, I know that Roran nearly died but survived and even I've managed to read 4 chapters of Inheritance (as a sample on my kindle though), all I need now is how Galby is going to die
