Kinda sorta open for others, but there is a plot for this one so nothing overly drastic, please.  IC: Zeke stared out from the cave he had sheltered in, gazing into the distance toward nothing. That was it. Nothing. Ella was gone. He was alone. He closed his eyes as tears dripped down his cheeks to the ground. It was a few weeks since he'd been with Devitria. That had been the time he'd felt the most alive, when he'd been with the snake boy. After they parted ways, the depression set in again. Abruptly his stomach snarled at him, making him jerk his head up. He hadn't eaten in roughly four days, since he'd found this cave and settled in. His head sank back down to the ground. he didn't have the will to move. Maybe he could starve himself to death. He closed his eyes and vowed to not move an inch until he was literally too weak from starvation to move even if he wanted to. His stomach snarled again and suddenly he was on his paws and at the entrance of the cave. Instinct was stronger than willpower. He sighed and spread his wings in resignation. He found himself in the air, listlessly searching for game to hunt. He missed Ella. He raised his head and bellowed his grief to the skies. He knew no one should be close enough to overhear. Even if they were and they came after him, he didn't care. He didn't care about anything. Not even his mate, children, or sister could comfort him enough for him to have any will to stay among the living. And it hurt him even more because he knew he shouldn't feel that way about his family. They still needed him. He closed his eyes and whined, a high-pitched sound, in despair. OOC: I know Kenai is not fully accepted, at the moment she is currently just a side character. IC: Kenai lounged into a clearing and stopped, peering around. The grass was a luscious green that tickled her ankles. Sensa, the female soul of her zanpakuto, spoke up. Wow, this is a beautiful spot. Kenai had to agree. She'd been all through the Empire and the Beor Mountains. Sure they were all grand and breathtaking, but the simple, quiet beauty of this clearing and the forest around her made her smile. Rikuya, the male soul of her zanpakuto, agreed with the both of them for once. Kenai took off her back scabbard for her zanpakuto and hung it on a low hanging branch, then did the same for her Captains coat. Relaxing is for the weak bodied, Kenai. You know that. said a dark voice in her head. Kenai's lips curved back in a smile. Yes, Haiken. I'm not weak bodied, am I. she said calmly. She sat down with her legs crossed, her Zanpakuto unsheathed across her lap. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, delving into her Inner World. She opened her eyes to find Sensa and Rikuya in front of her. She smiled at the zanpakuto pair. Haiken hissed from behind Kenai, grumbling words of random disagreement. Sensa narrowed her eyes at the inner hollow, then looked back at Kenai. "Why have you come here now, Kenai? Are you troubled by something that we can help you with?" asked the woman in her sweet, honey velvet voice. The Vaizard shook her head and smiled. Rikuya looked worried and touched her shoulder. "You are sure, Kenai? Haiken has not been bothering you more than normal has she?" he asked. Kenai grasped his hand on her shoulder and squeezed it lightly. "Yes I'm sure, both of you. I just came here for a little practice training, that's all." she assured them. Sensa and Rikuya smiled at the same time. "Ah, alright. One on one, two on one, two on two, or three on one?" asked Sensa. Haiken was beside Kenai in a second. "I vote for one on one. With you." said the woman, poking Kenai in the shoulder with a sharpened, claw-like fingernail. Kenai grinned nastily. "You're on Haiken. Sensa, Rikuya, stay off to the side." she said. They both bowed their heads then disappeared to some distance. Kenai drew her zanpakuto, Sensa Rikuya, and settled into a battle stance,"Your move, Haiken." she said, her eyes glittering as she waited for the inner hollow to move. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: Consumed He'd lost his cart. He'd lost his gold. He'd almost lost his zanpakuto and Captain coat. Grumbling and angry, Osutin made his way up a game trail that cut threw the Spine, muttering obscenities as he went. "Stupid bandits. Don't they know you're not suppose to sneak up on a man while he's sleeping. It was lucky that I scared them off with my kidou, otherwise I might have lost everything." His hand moved down to the hilt of his sword that rested by his hip, muttering another foul oath. Suddenly, the path took a steep incline, like a mini-mountain. Off to his right he could hear a water fall, the water gurgling and splashing over rocks at the bottom. He couldn't see it, but he could hear it was there. Instead of going up the path, he decided to take a slightly more interesting route. Cutting to the right he headed toward the water fall. It didn't take him long to get there, only a few minuets. When he emerged from the wood he found himself standing on a small cliff that cut straight down into a small river, and about 30 feet to his left was the water fall he had heard. The gap was just big enough to prevent him form jumping across, so instead, he turned and headed for the waterfall.
Along either side of the waterfall there were rocks, and nearly all of them were covered in slick slime that would make climbing nearly impossible. Nearly. With a slight grin he put his foot on the lowest rock and grabbed onto a couple of ledges over head. He didn't slip and his confidence grew a bit. With a heave and a push he began ascending the rock wall. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on his side that day. About half way up he ran out of hand holds. Looking up, he could see one that was just out of reach, and it was dry to boot. He looked down at the ground below him. If he fell it wouldn't kill him, but it would hurt. Licking his lips he looked back up at the out of reach hand hold and steeled himself for his next move. Tensing himself up, he pulled himself up and pushed off at the same time, basically jumping up the wall. But, the slime was slicker than he had though. Instead of jumping up, his feet slipped out, making him bang his knees on the rock. Somehow he managed to push himself sideways, into the waterfall, so that he fell in the river instead of on the ground. He hit the water with a splash, and by this point he didn't even care. Fate had seen fit to deal him a crappy hand lately, what did he care if he drowned? So, instead of fighting it, he simply let the current take him where it would. Eventually, the water thinned out so much that he hit the bottom and the water simply flowed around him. With a sigh he sat up, hair and cloths dripping wet. "Awesome..." He said to himself and stood up, water flowing off of him freely. Slowly, he made his way out of the ankle deep water, up the bank, and to a small sunny clearing. At first glance he didn't see anyone, and was too irritated to pay attention to any energies he might pick up. Re: Consumed Zeke opened his eyes a bit and turned his head, sniffing the wind. What was that? It seemed familiar. His eyes widened. Could it really be? He banked around and flew, searching for the energy he knew. He felt it close by, about a league. He snorted and increased his wingbeats. Perhaps Osutin could give him what he wanted.
- - - - - - - - - - Kenai deftly evaded a blow of Haiken's and deliberately stuck her tongue out at the hollow, trying to make her angrier,"Come on Haiken I know you can do more than that! It's like you're not even trying, as if you're not in the taking-body-over mood today." she taunted. Haiken snarled and lunged forward, then stopped in mid-swing, tilting her head. "You feel that, Kenai?" she rasped in her low, distorted voice that sounded creepily similar to Kenai herself. Kenai nodded. "Yes, I do. And It seems familiar as well." Sensa and Rikuya were beside her in another moment, both of them had their eyes wide. She waved a hand toward them so they wouldn't speak as she studied what she felt. She pursed her lips,"You three stand-by. I'll check it out." she said. Haiken, Sensa, and Rikuya all nodded. She closed her eyes, and when she reopened them she was in the clearing in the real world again. She looked up at the sky and figured that an hour might have passed in physical time since she'd gone into meditation. She picked up her zanpakuto and stood silently, scanning the clearing. There, ten feet away from her. She felt Spiritual Pressure. It was a strong Pressure. It almost felt like someone from her homeland. She walked forward so she was closer, testing the energy that she sensed. When she was close enough, she was startled to see someone that she did indeed recognize. Her eyes widened, then she smiled. She crouched beside the figure, whom she now knew to be Osutin Shiori, a fellow Captain from the Court Guard Squads, and lowered her mouth down to his head. She held her breath so she didn't startle him. Then she abruptly blew into his ear gently. She giggled and used flashstep to back away a few steps. Her eyes sparkled at him,"Hello Osu. Re: Consumed Osutin was awake the moment she moved, and executed an Utsusemi accordingly, leaving an after image of him laying on the ground while he himself hid in the trees. He concealed his energy, as he should have done before, and watched the stranger and bend over it. He could feel her spiritual energy from where he was, and he remembered it vaguely, but could quite place who it was. When she flash stepped back he knew that she had come from the 13 Court Guard Squads, but why was someone else here? Retrieval? Execution? Recon like him? When she spoke up, after jumping back, his image faded and he walked out of the trees behind her. "Yes it is...but who are you and how do you know my name, and more importantly, what is someone else from the Court's doing here?" Normally, he wouldn't have been so blunt, but he still didn't know who this stranger was, and he didn't trust the 13 Court Guard Squads or Central 46 as far as he could throw them.

Re: Consumed Kenai spun around, her hand flying to her Zanpakuto instinctively. She stopped once she recognized who it was,"Osu for earth's sake, don't scare me like that." she said scoldingly, shaking her finger at him. She raised an eyebrow and walked toward him slowly,"Osu, it's me, Kenai. Don't you remember me? Kenai, Captain of Squad Three. I've been your friend for years." she said, stopping so that he still had some space. She tilted her head to the side,"I'm not here on orders, if that's what you were wondering. I'm not here to execute you, bring you back or anything. I got permission from Head Captain and I've been here for two years, traveling and studying." she said. Haiken interjected at this point.
Why don't you actually kill him? It might be against orders but I bet they wouldn't do much to you for punishment, because Central 46 probably wants a possible threat like him dead anyway. And he caused so much trouble and damage to the Court Guard Squads, they would probably thank you with a huge celebration if you took his threat from over their heads.... she whispered. Kenai shook her head and took a step back, her eyes closing halfway as she held half her face in one hand. That is not true and you know it, Haiken. He's my friend. I would never hurt him. she snapped back. Now if you can't shut up and behave for more than five minutes on your on without Sensa or Rikuya intervening, then so help me I will call them both and have them restrain you. Am I understood? she snarled at the hollow. She felt Haiken retreat into the back of her mind. She always tried to be fair with Haiken and let her be free within her mind. Maybe she should harden up a bit and keep a tighter leash on her inner demon. She growled to herself, then her eyes fluttered open and she let the hand at her face drop to her side. She smiled at Osu warmly,"It's good to see you again, Osu." she said, her eyes glittering. She stuck her tongue out at him, then laughed,"Now stop acting like a paranoid soul and give me a hug, would you?" she said, and spread her arms wide to wait. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: Consumed Osutin's eyes went slightly wide when she turned to face him. He recognized her now, even without her stating her name. He had never expected to see Kenai again, much less here. Though a cold chill of suspicion crept up his spine as he listened to her case. It was very possible that she was lying, and that she had been sent here to recover him and take him back to be executed for his crimes, even though he hadn't had control over himself at the time. When she asked for a hug, his eyes turned cold. "How do I know you're not lying." It was a statement rather than a question. 'Three years is a long time. Who's to say you don't believe what ever lies people are spreading about me back home? I haven't survived here by trusting the first person that claimed to be my friend." He clicked his sword out of it's sheath. "Prove to me you aren't lying...if you cannot, then I will give you till the count of 10 to leave here." He said, his voice retaining it's cold tone.

Re: Consumed Kenai's eyes narrowed with surprise. He wanted her to fight him? She took a step back and shook her head, her hand tightening around Sensa Rikuya's hilt,"I don't want to fight you, Osu. I didn't want to before and I still don't want to." Because I understand, she thought to herself. She bit her lip. Did he not remember what she'd told him, so many years ago? She grit her teeth, her dark-blue-ringed-with-ice-blue eyes hardening slightly,"You should remember, Osu. I won't fight you. But maybe you need a little bit of memory beaten back into your head."
Yessss.... hissed Haiken, her voice filled with eagerness. I like the way your thoughts are going, Kenai.... I am not going into Full Hollow, Haiken. That would possibly kill Osu, or make him go into Full Hollow. And even you know two Vaizards fighting each other in Full Hollow would be bad news. she retorted. Haiken grumbled but didn't argue more than that, because she did know. Kenai shook her head and blinked, then took a battle stance, holding Sensa Rikuya in both hands. She looked Osutin in the eye, then smirked slightly. "Scorch, Sensa Rikuya...." she murmured. Her zanpakuto glowed white hot and then morphed. When the glow faded she now held two daggers, one in each hand. They were simple, double bladed weapons, but with a fiery touch. She brandished them before settling back into her stance. Ooooh, let me out now, Kenai! I'll make sure he remembers us! said Haiken excitedly. Kenai pulled the inner hollow back. In a bit. I want to see if he remembers on his own. I've known him for a long time. she soothed. She wondered if he remembered the power of her Shikai release. She smiled sweetly at Osu,"Come on then, Osu. Re: Consumed Osutin grew tense when Kenai drew her sword. He hadn't intended to fight her unless necessary. When she called her zanpakuto a dull bell rang in his head. "I've heard that call before..." It was a distant memory, faded with time. He shook it off and drew his zanpakuto as well, but with his left hand. In one smooth motion he drew it and flicked it into the air, spinning like a saw blade. "Defy them! Shinzikima!" The sound of falling sand filled the air as his sword disintegrated into nothing, only to reform a moment later in the shape of a demonic scythe, still spinning. It fell to the ground and stuck blade first, it's eye blinking at Kenai. Osutin took a step forward and pulled it from the ground. "Your move..." He said, getting into a defensive position, scythe held in front of him with one hand, his other hand behind his back, and crouched slightly.

Re: Consumed Kenai swallowed and closed her eyes for a moment. She didn't want to fight him. But she obliged his summons, and flashed forward until she was directly in front of him. She lashed out with both her daggers, her intent not to injure him but touch his weapon. If she did then it would heat up two times, from the two touches of her daggers.
Use me, Kenai. Use my power. Make him remember us. whispered Haiken. Kenai grit her teeth in irritation. No. Not yet. I want to give him the chance to remember on his own. If I shock him with it he might not trust me anymore than he does now. Relax, Haiken. I'll let you out when I think it's appropriate. she said quietly to the inner hollow. She used flashstep to get out of range of Shinzikima, eying his sword warily. "I don't want to fight you, Osu...I'm fighting to prove that I'm here for why I say I am." she wondered how he would react if she just dropped her weapons to the ground and didn't attack or try to defend herself at all. - - - - - - - - - - Zeke felt that he was getting closer to Osu. If he roared, the man would probably hear him. But now that he was nearer he could sense another being that was in the same area as Osu. Zeke growled under his breath, impatient. He wanted to have it over with and done, not let him have time to think it through and hesitate. He increased his wingbeats. Re: Consumed When she moved, Osutin did too, flash stepping back away from her attack. He glared at the female across from him. "You don't want to fight and yet you were the first to draw and release your weapon. You say you want me to trust you and yet here you are,attacking me. Seems counter productive to me, but what do I know? I'm the murderous traitor that should be sentenced to death, right?!" By the time he was done speaking he was yelling. Thoughts and memories came flooding back to him in a torrent of emotion. He had kept them hidden away for so long, he had almost forgotten about them...almost. His rage spiked, and his power along with it. He was engulfed in a roaring flame of red/black energy in a matter of seconds. "I will not let you take me back!" He yelled, Shinzikima disappearing in his hands, only to reform a few moments later as a dozen or so sharp metal spikes. With a flick of his wrist the spikes raced forward toward Kenai, intent on killing her with one strike.

Re: Consumed Kenai didn't pursue him when he sprang back. She bowed her head and lowered her arms, wincing as his words slowly grew into an angry shouting that made her cringe inside. She closed her eyes and didn't move when he made Shinzikima into a dozen or so spikes all around her. As she heard the whoosh of air as he sent them all at her at once. She opened her eyes, seconds before they reached her, and met Osu's gaze.
"I never hurt my friends." she whispered, and she knew he would hear, despite how softly her words were said. She shifted just enough so that the spikes wouldn't hit anything too vital. And then they impaled her, all at once. The breath was forced from her body from the strength of there flight. Crimson blood instantly started oozing from the wounds and into her black and white Shinigami robe. She gasped and fell to her knees, her eyes wide, still looking at Osu,"I never attacked you directly. I only went for your weapon. If you remember, my Shikai heats up any inanimate object every time it touches it." she said, and swallowed, her throat and mouth suddenly dry,"And how could I ever call you a monster? That would be hypocritical." she lifted her hand slowly to her face, energy gathering in her palm. It obscured her face for a moment, then flashed and settled, appearing in an instant as a bone white mask that vaguely looked like the skull of a dragon,"Because I'm one too. Don't you remember when I told you, Osu? You helped me control her and use her power." she gasped, her voice distorted and different in her hollowification form. Re: Consumed Osutin gasped a bit when his spikes impaled her, though he did manage to notice that she moved so that none of them would hit vital areas. He had heard her, but it took a second for the words to register. "K...Kenai?" He stammered, and again memories came back to him. These memories however, where more pleasant. They were of him and Kenai, the only two Vaizard Captain's of the time. They had been close friends and a dangerous pair to fight. More than once they had to bail each other out of trouble, but they never left each other behind, that is, until he had been exiled. She had had no choice but to stay. He had tried to write to her but she never returned his letters. He had figured she had started to believe the lies that must have been being spread about him. Now though, he saw that that wasn't true. In an instant he was by her side, the spikes dispersing into the air to reform as the scythe a little ways away. He laid he down on the ground as gently as he could "Kenai...I'm so sorry. I..." He wasn't sure what to say to her; he had just impaled his best friend. "Just hang on..." He said, and put his hands, one over the other, about 6 inches over her stomach. "Chiyudo 65: White Rain." The palm of his bottom hand began to glow a soft white, and from this glow semi-transperent tendrils extended and connected with each of Kenai's wounds. The blood stopped flowing out and slowly the wounds began to heal from the inside out. "Just hang on..."

Re: Consumed Kenai sagged into his arms, relieved,"You remember." she murmured, closing her eyes as he laid her down gently on the ground. Despite how gingerly he handled her, she still winced a little. She opened her eyes and smiled at him.
"Don't apologize, Osu. I probably would have done the same, in your position." she said quietly. Weakly she lifted a hand and waved it over her face, letting the white bone mask disappear into wisps of energy. She smiled wryly. "Haiken is irritated with me now. She wanted me to kick your butt for forgetting us." she said, and chuckled. She rested her head against the ground and sighed, feeling relief as her friend healed the wounds. "It is good to see you again. I thought that we would never meet again once you were sent away in exile." she said without opening her eyes. She twitched when she felt a powerful presence approaching, her eyes snapping open alertly. "Osu, I feel someone close..." she said, glancing at his face. She sat up, groping for her daggers. She found them both and gripped their hilts tightly. Whoever was coming was strong. The energy was wild and erratic, untamed. - - - - - - - - - - Zeke growled to himself as he landed in the trees, making the ground shudder under him. He shook himself, then padded forward briskly toward Osu. He stopped at the edge of the clearing, his gaze watching, almost cold. He growled softly and stepped forward into the light. Osutin. I sensed your energy and decided to find you. he said in a strangely formal fashion, his ice blue gaze flicking briefly to the woman beside him. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: Consumed Osutin chuckled a bit when she told him of Haiken. "Good 'ol Haiken...but she must understand that 3 years is a long time..." The healing was going relatively quickly, only few places remained now. He felt something clench in his chest when she spoke again. "It's good to see you too Kenai..." He said, his voice lower than it had been a few moments before. When she twitched he did as well, feeling the presence at the same time she did, but he knew it. "Calm yourself..." he said, laying a hand on her's, which were gripping her daggers. "I know him..." When Zeke landed Osutin rose and smiled lightly at the large dragon, but he could instantly tell something wasn't right. He seemed colder, more put off than Osutin remembered him. "Well now you have...is everything ok? You seem bothered by something." He said, momentarily forgetting about Kenai. "Oh! where are my manners...Kenai, this is Zeke Blindscale, a friend of mine. Zeke, this is Kenai, also a friend of mine." He said, wondering to himself how well the two would take to each other.

Re: Consumed Kenai smiled a bit. "She knows. She still wants to kick your butt." she said, her eyes sparkling a bit with humor. Her smiled widened and warmed at his response and she relaxed; this was the man she remembered. Once she was on her feet she stood ready, facing the direction of the presence. She jumped slightly at Osu's touch, jerking her attention to him. Under his hand her fingers relaxed on the hilt of her weapon, but she still held it at the ready. She crooked an eyebrow when he mentioned that he knew who it was, but didn't comment. At least, she didn't comment until she saw the the being was a large, purple scaled dragon. Her eyes bugged out of her head and her jaw fell slack. Three white scars slashed down the creatures neck from its left jaw to just above its left shoulder. But its eyes. Those ice blue eyes held her spellbound, until it looked away from her and at Osu. She shuddered. The expression in those icy depths was anguish and loss and anger and desperation. This beast had lost something very close to it. Very close. She glanced at Osutin and chewed on her lip, then bowed at the waist slightly in respect - it was a dragon after all - and spoke in a respectful tone. "It is an honor, Zeke Blindscale. Any friend of Osu's is a friend of mine. You are the first dragon I have met since coming to Alagaësia." she said, straightening from the bow. She still held her daggers in her hands, but held them with the tip down in a non-aggressive posture.
- - - - - - - - - - At Osu's question Zeke's throat closed with pain. He glanced at the woman, Kenai, and dipped his head a tiny bit. A pleasure, Kenai. he said shortly, then looked back at Osutin. Nothing will ever be okay again. he said hoarsely, and in that one sentence he managed to convey all of his anguish, loss, and desperation. He swallowed and closed his eyes. All pretense dropped from his appearance like a stone. The facade he had been keeping up around himself so his family didn't know how much he was hurting. He wings drooped to the ground and his head hung low, the tip of his muzzle brushing the grass. He walked forward a few paces, his tail dragging limply. Pain seemed to rule every physical movement, as if it anguished him just to move. His scales didn't sparkle or shine in the sun, but gleamed dully, as if even they didn't have the will to glitter with gem-like brilliance. He opened his eyes, and they burned with pain and loss, stronger than any pain that an unbonded person could possibly feel. Osu...she has been taken from me. he rasped, uncaring that he didn't speak to the man privately. He just didn't care anymore. As he spoke to Osutin, his emotions swirled and roiled, becoming stronger and more potent. The anguish choked him. He didn't care how the strength of his feelings might affect Osu, he just wanted to be understood. My Ella. My heart. My soul. You know I was bonded. In the Allatik War, she was taken from me. Killed. Murdered. I've gone on for as long as I can. Please...kill me. Let me join Ella in the void. End this continuous torture that rips through me every second of every day. he begged, his eyes pleading. There were not words that could describe the pain of only being half alive, half aware. Re: Consumed The wave of pure, unrestrained emotion that swept over Osutin threatened to take him off his feet, mentally and physically, but he held his ground. He had known that Zeke had been bonded, but he hadn't realized that Ella had died. The thought of what it would feel like to loose a part of him like that flickered threw his mind, but was quickly dispelled when Zeke made his request. It shocked him, more than just a little bit, that Zeke would make such a request. It more than shocked him, it shook him to his core. He could feel Zeke's pain and emotions, but he couldn't grasp them fully as he was only experiencing them second hand. Not only that, but the raw emotion that Zeke had pushed over him, unintentionally or other wise, had woken up his Demon, his Inner Hollow. He cast a glance back at Kenai, showing the black creeping into the corner of his eye and his slowly yellowing iris. He wanted her to be ready to restrain him if it came to that. He turned back to Zeke and gathered his thoughts as best he could get respond. A small grin touched his features as he looked at Zeke."Yea, and have Jia hunt me down for killing her brother? No thank you." He paused and let the grin fall, a sadder expression taking it's place. "Zeke...I know you're hurt, I can feel that. I know I can't feel it like you do, and probably never will, but I know you're hurt, and death isn't the answer. What would Ella say if she heard you talking like that? She probably wouldn't be very happy with you would she?" He said, reaching out to gently touch the male dragon on his head. "You can't keep what you feel hidden inside of you...that will only make it hurt worse. Trust me, I know." He said, his own pain, the pain of something he did a long time ago, edging into his voice. His eyes had completely blacked over now and his irises were bright yellow, his voice had taken on a slightly distorted tone as well. It wasn't as bad as it was when he put on his Mask, but it could still be heard. His Inner Hollow was wanting to get out, riled by Zeke's raw pain and loss, but he wouldn't let it out, not now, not if he could help it.

Zeke saw the black and yellow creeping over Osu's eyes but didn't rightly care. He was so alone and empty without his Ella, nothing in the world mattered any more. His chest ached and he felt the ragged edges around where his heart should be start to throb with pain. Jia understands. he said quietly. When Zeke and Osu had first met, there had been a short little misunderstanding where Jia had thought Ka, her Rider, was dead, and she had wanted nothing else but the death of the killer or herself. Tears blurred his vision at the touch to his head, but he didn't recoil. No matter how much it hurt, and it hurt a lot, it felt good to have physical contact with a twoleg again. He closed his eyes and basked in the touch. And he had to agree that Ella would probably not be happy with him for his train of thought. His chest twinged. Even just thinking her name hurt. Tears spilled over from his eyes and ran down his face to the tip of his muzzle, where they quivered and then fell to the ground. There are no words, nor any physical lament I could make or think up that would describe the anguish that rips through me. he choked. He opened his eyes and blinked so he could see, hearing the pain edging into Osu's voice as well. The man's eyes were completely black with a yellow iris now. He wondered why, then thought that Osu's Demon might have been aroused from his otherwise somewhat dormant state from the chaos of emotions going through the amethyst to the male Soul Reaper. Momentarily, Zeke pushed aside his own hurt and crooned in his throat. It had been such a long time since the last time he made that sound, it came out a little hoarse, but the meaning was unmistakable. he stepped forward so he was closer to Osu and pressed his snout into the twolegs stomach. He tempered his emotions so they wouldn't be crashing against Osu as much, and then he swept his mind into Osu's like a warm wave of water. He growled lowly at the Demon, flashing his ice blue eyes. He didn't speak, but he simply stared, daring the Inner Hollow to approach him or try to take over Osu. He snorted quietly and wrapped his consciousness around Osu's in a mental embrace. Re: Consumed A soft growl escaped the man's throat before he could stop it as he watched Zeke's tear fall. When Zeke crooned softly Osu felt his Hollow shudder at the sudden change in emotion, like someone stepping out of a warm bath into cold air, even if the sound was a tad hoarse. Osu hadn't been expecting what came next either. When Zeke stepped closer and pushed his snout into his stomach he nearly fell back on his rear. He felt his Hollow shudder again, and screech as Zeke's mind washed over his in a tide of warmth. Osu and Zeke had merged once before, but only long enough for Zeke to boost his Cero blast, but it didn't feel like this. The warmth and safety he felt as Zeke wrapped his mind around his was something he hadn't felt since he had been exiled. He felt the Hollow writhe under Zeke's gaze and then slink back to what ever corner of Osu's mind he had taken up residence. The black of his eyes receded to show white again and his irises returned to their normal shade of brown. "Thank you for that...Zeke." He said softly, nudging his mind a bit, edging out of his embrace to return the favor. "As alone as you might feel...you aren't. You still have your family and friends. I can feel your sadness...and I feel like I'm standing on the shore of a bottomless lake. I can't comprehend what you must feel...but you need to know that are aren't as alone as you think..." He had never been good with consoling words, he hoping his message managed to make it threw to him.

Re: Consumed Kenai raised an eyebrow at the exchange between them, noticing that Osu's eyes were no longer filled with his Inner Hollow. She pursed her lips curiously, but kept to herself.
- - - - - - - - - - Zeke released the embrace he had around Osu's mind and looked up to meet his gaze. His eyes widened as he felt Osu's consciousness embrace him in return. Tears came back to his eyes and he crooned, long and loud, mourning his beloved Ella. He laid down where he was and rested his muzzle on his forepaws. Why her, and not me? My darling Ella did no wrong to deserve this. My sweet, dear Ella... he lamented, more to himself than the other two. Re: Consumed Osu seemed to have forgotten that Kenai was even there, all he knew was Zeke and himself. He would never admit it, but it felt nice to be this close to something other than his zanpakuto and inner hollow. When Zeke sat down so did he, corssing his legs and keeping his hands in his lap, zanpakuto in the grass beside him. "I don't know Zeke...but a bit of advice from someone that knows nothing of what you're going threw if you don't mind?" He paused a moment, waiting for Zeke to acknowledge him. "Rather than mourning her death, why not celebrate her life...instead of weeping becasue she is no long among the living, continue on and do everything for her, to celebrate and glorify what a wonderful person she was?" He gave Zeke a small smile. "It's only a suggestion, and I wouldn't expect you to do it right away...but think about it at least, I don't like to see my friends upset like this, with or without a good reason." He wasn't sure if he should say anything else or just sit there, he had never had to console someone like this. After a few second of thought he decided to just sit there and listen to Zeke should he have anything to say, which was likely that he would.

Re: Consumed Zeke shifted and gazed up at Osu, listening to the words he said. It hurt to think of it that way, but if he pushed away the crushing grief, it did indeed make sense. He whined softly, the tears from his eyes hardly pausing. It is not simply the fact that she is...gone.. he choked for a moment but forced himself to continue. I have had her with me for a long time now, since I was a hatchling...And now she has been torn brutally from me...With her death, my hearts feels as if it is torn in half, bleeding and hurting, barely beating at all anymore. My mind is ravaged with pain and grief...I am alone in my thoughts...A Dragon and Rider are bonded in every way possible, save for physically. Imagine your sword being shattered and your Zanpakuto spirit being torn from your mind, and perhaps the same with your Inner Hollow...leaving you utterly alone in the world...broken and torn and bleeding... he trailed off and closed his eyes, grief closing his throat. He felt something touch his neck and he opened his eyes to see Kenai stroking his scales slowly. Her expression was sad. "I am sorry you have been hurt in such a way, my friend, even if I can not fully comprehend it." she murmured quietly. He prummed softly in his chest, another sound he hadn't made for a while, and bowed his head to the ground until his muzzle brushed against the grass.

Re: Consumed Osutin didn't look at Zeke as he spoke, but rather at the grass just in front of him. When Zeke mentioned what it would be like to have both his Zanpakuto and Inner Hollow torn from him, his eyes flicked over to where his Zanpakuto, Shinzikima, lay on the ground. The idea of having her torn from him terrified him, not because it would leave him powerless, but because she had always been there with him and for him. He shuddered at the thought of that changing. "I'm sorry I suggested it...." He said in a low voice. "I did not realize the depth on which Dragon and Rider were bonded...but there has to be some way, other than death, that we can relieve your suffering..." He said, looking at Zeke dead in the eyes. "Isn't there?"

I don't know...I have heard of dragons that pushed past their grief to keep aiding the Varden...But I can not see how they did it...And they were Bonded for a lot longer than I...The only way I can see to relieve my pain is death...or.. he paused, slightly surprised at his train of thought. or try to find another Rider and give them the Mark...I've never heard of that being done, however...or if it even can be done. He tilted his head, interested at the idea...but then he felt a brutal stab in his chest, and he gasped for breath from its sharpness. Would he be betraying Ella by doing so? By trying to replace her with someone else? A long whine escaped his throat. I would be betraying her if I did such a thing, though... he murmured disparately, his wings drooping low to either side of him. Kenai scratched gently under one of his scales, smiling lightly,"She would not think badly of you, Zeke...She would want you to be pain free, and maybe finding another Rider, or at least finding someone that you can bond with as a close friend, might help with that." she suggested.

Re: Consumed He felt the twisted gears of his hollow's mind turning before Zeke even finished his sentence regarding him bonding to another. "Think about it! If you could get him to bond to you, think of the power you would have! Remember the cero blast? Imagine having that kind of power all the time! The things you could do! The people you could cr-" The hollow stopped suddenly as clouds began to appear within Osu's inner world. Lightning tore across the sky. Once it faded Osu was standing within inches of his hollow, face shadowed, fists clentched so tight blood was dripping from between his fingers. His sudden appearance made his hollow flinch backwards and fall, fear written on his face. Osu was seething with rage, and his voice mirrored this, coming out low and shaking, but no less threatening. " If you ever...EVER...suggest that I bond to Zeke for my own gain EVER again...I will cast you into the depths of hell with my own two hands. Understand?!" The hollow nodded shakily and slowly moved to back away, only to feel the there was no ground behind him. Instead there was a straight drop into a deep, firey pit. He let out a terrified shriek and scrammbled away from it, ending up at Osu's feet. He sat very still there, once he realized where he was, hoping he wouldn't incur the man's wrath. "Good hollow..." Was all Osu said before he disappeared from his inner world. The hollow was still for a few moments more, before it let out a shaky breath, a small puddle beneath him. He didn't even notice Shinzikima laughing at him from a near by tree.
Back on the outside though, his face never changed, and showed no signs of the 'discussion' that had just taken place. "Aye Zeke...Ella would want you to be happy, even if it meant bonding to another. I don't think she would see that as a betrayal at all. She would understand." He said, sounding sure of it even though he had never met Ella. He paused for a moment, unsure if he would offend Zeke by sounding like he knew his Rider, even though they had never met. "Correct me if I'm wrong Zeke, but she may even want you to find another, to move on. She most certainly wouldn't want you to kill yourself for her passing..." Re: Consumed Zeke looked up at Osu and contemplated...And no matter how he looked at it, he was right. Ella would want him to be happy, not depressed and suicidal. He nodded slowly. Aye...I agree..but who....There are two that I've felt...the most alive with. A young boy with..unique abilities, a troubled mind and past...but a kind, kind heart to make up for it all...and..you. this last he barely whispered, and he didn't dare look up. He heard Kenai draw in a soft breath, but she didn't speak, so he ignored her for now. The amethyst shuffled his wings almost shyly and glanced up at Osu, expecting to see...revulsion, maybe. He didn't know. He looked back down before he could assess, his heart trembling with old pain and threatening to be consumed by a strange new pain that pulsed in time with the beat of his heart. He wasn't conscious of it, but his entire body was shivering ever so gently, as if he were cold or scared. He -was- the latter, at the least.

Re: Consumed Osu's heart nearly stopped when Zeke spoke, and his thought process did stop. To think that Zeke, a dragon of great power and intelligence, would feel anything positive around him, Osutin, a monster, lunatic, and murderer of his own kind, his mind couldn't process such a thing. It was simply unthinkable that anyone but his zanpakuto would enjoy his presence. Hell, he was still rather surprised Kenai didn't murder him on sight for what he had done. He didn't even try to shield his thoughts from Zeke and Kenai, nor the evident shock on his face and in his eyes. He watched Zeke carefully and though his brain was moving slow, he noticed the dragon shivering and acting strangely. He was unsure why, and didn't have the mental capacity to try and figure it out, it never occurred to him that maybe Zeke was scared Osu would reject him, because the thought of him rejecting the dragon never crossed his mind. when he spoke his voice was shaky and unsure. "Z-Zeke...". That was all he could think to say at the moment.

Re: Consumed Zeke glanced up briefly when the Soul Reaper stuttered his name, in a tone that seemed confused rather than disgusted. His ice blue eyes glinted softly at the shock on Osu's face. His tailtip waved in the air hesitently. It's true...Aside from Devitria, the boy I mentioned, I feel most alive when with you...I hadn't known before, as this is the first time I've been around you since...since she.. his throat closed and he blinked away tears. I don't know how to describe it..Like there's more to life than only pain and suffering and loneliness and grief. Devitria cares about me I know, as he was reluctant to part ways, but he has another future, one that does not include being bound mind, heart, and soul to a dragon. And a damaged one at that. he added softly. He's too young to be able to cope with my...unstable mind. You however are far older and wiser, stronger in mind and body. You could...you could help me, stand beside me in my mourning so I am not as alone as I feel..And I could help you. Stand beside you to fight your internal demons, both mental and emotional. he huffed softly, ruffling Osutin's clothes. His eyes softened, and he extended his snout toward Osu, stopping just short of arms reach, in case the male wanted to step back. I..don't know how it can be done..if it can be done. I've already given my mark as a bonded dragon, I've never heard of it being given twice by the same dragon to two completely different people, even if one had passed on. Although I remember Quasar, the mother of my mate, Savania, who had had two riders, Galedrim and Eris. Perhaps it is possible, then...I can give it a try...Only if you want me to though... he said quietly.

Re: Consumed Osutin was still trying to wrap his mind around things. The fact that Zeke was 'most alive' around him just simply wouldn't process, even if that was only because a part of him was dead and Osu wasn't the only one he felt that way around. Osu had been more or less alone since his exlie, his hollow and zanpakuto didn't count. The idea that that could change made him feel...he wasn't sure how it made him feel, but it was positive feeling. When Zeke extended his snout toward him, Osu hesitated, quickly thinking. Should he? he wanted Zeke to be happy, yes, but could he put Zeke threw the hell that was Hosu and be ok with it? He looked at the dragon before him, unblinking. Zeke needed someone right now, and if he thought Osu was the right choice, then- "I would be honored to be your partner of heart and mind, Zeke." He said softly, a small smile touching his lips as he reached out and placed a gentle hand on the dragon's snout, unsure of what would happen next, if anything.

Re: Consumed Something deep within Zeke's eyes lit up, something that had previously been dark and now flared like a candle flame, small and wavering, but definitely there. He closed his eyes and a deep, vibrating rumble that Osu would be able to feel in his arm and hand emanated from his chest. Osu's hand would feel like it was tingling softly for a few moments, then sting like hell's fire. Zeke stiffened as if he'd been touched by lightning. A part of him, the part of him that had been lost by Ella's death, slowly knit itself back together, not as it was, it could never be exactly the same as before, but new and whole. Not healed, not completely, but very well taken care of. As the link was established between their minds, as the mark was etched onto Osu's hand, Zeke was made anew. Not so different to be noticeable, but the touch of a new mind and soul to his changed him slightly from what he had been when bonded to Ella. She had been a kindred soul, kind to all and loving to everyone. Osu was much different. He had experienced things that would have crushed several people that he knew, Ella possibly included. Here was a man that knew the hardships of life by experience. This experience wove it's way into Zeke, the knowledge, the pain, the sadness, the loneliness, the bitterness, grief...understanding. With a tiny audible pop, the link between them was created, the mark of a Rider now etched into Osutin's palm. Zeke staggered back a few steps and hung his head, his eyes wide and staring at Osu. Did it...did it work? he asked tentatively. Something had happened. His chest no longer felt utterly empty. He could feel his heart beating once more. He didn't feel like curling into a ball and letting the misery have at him. He no longer felt alone. This startled him. He didn't feel alone.

Re: Consumed A shudder ran threw Osu's body that was borderline a spasm. A few seconds later his hand began to sting and itch like he had slapped hot coals. He was going to ask Zeke if he was suppose to feel like this, but he never got the chance. Suddenly, it felt like someone had dumped him in boiling ice water while being struck by lighting, his body went stiff as a board as a result. It only lasted a moment, but that moment lasted forever. Then, it was gone, leaving Osu weak in the knees and panting a bit. He blinked a few times at Zeke and slowly pulled his hand away from the dragon, not in fear, but in shock of what had just happened. He had never been threw anything like that, so it took a few minuets for his mind to register that there was another presence, one that was nearly intertwined with his own. He touched it gently and felt Zeke's mind. As his mind began to clear he could then sense a bond, not just that Zeke was there, but what he was there. Osu couldn't put into words what he was feeling, even to himself, so he didn't try. A slow wave of emotions washed over him, confusion being the strongest, followed by wonder, curiosity, and a slight touch of doubt and hesitation. He didn't know that Zeke would be able to sense all this, so he didn't think to hide it. He rubbed his hands together in a slightly nervous gesture and gasped a bit when he felt the Mark that was now apart of his hand. he looked down at it and then at Zeke. "Did...did it work? Is this normal?" He asked, showing the dragon his palm, confusion and worry fighting for dominance in his mind.

Re: Consumed Zeke gazed at the mark on Osu's mark, hid mind numb for a few seconds at the sight. And he felt the rise and fall and color of the Soul Reaper's emotions. He smiled, life entering his eyes. He was no longer alone. He deep rolling purr thundered in his chest, and he slowly extended his mind to Osu's, coiling around it in an affectionate embrace. Yes, it worked, little one. he murmured into Osu's mind through their new link. He pressed his muzzle to Osu's hand, purring softly. You are no longer alone. We are no longer alone. he said quietly. Do not worry, confusion is sometimes normal for new Riders, if they don't understand what has happened to them right away. I can teach you everything I know, so you need not doubt. I can feel everything you feel, and vice versa for you. Here. he murmured, and he let his emotions of joy, delight, content, peace, even love, flow slowly from him to Osu. And because of the bond, Osu could now understand how much those emotions meant. You've brought me out of the dark, Osutin Shiori. he rumbled quietly, a purr vibrating his chest lightly.
- - - - - - - - - - Kenai watched silently from the sidelines as things unfolded, and she watched especially close when Zeke approached Osutin. She blinked, and then it seemed to be over. Zeke took a step back, and Osutin was shocked it looked like. He looked up at Zeke...and the look in his eyes made her breath hitch. Confusion, awe, wonder...but something else. Re: Consumed Osu's mind kicked back into gear at the sound of Zeke's voice in his head. A smile slowly spread across his face and his eyes lit up as he realized what had just happened. Zeke's words echoed wonderfully around in his head. "No longer alone....no more lonely nights cursing creation." A brightly colored flower of joy began to take root in his chest, warming him from the inside, filling him with energy. He returned Zeke's gentle embrace, his mind buzzing with joyful energy. "I can't wait to learn..." He said smiling at Zeke. Then Osu felt Zeke's emotions flow over him, adding flare to his own. "And you've given me hope, Zeke Blindscale." He said, his eyes shining brightly. He looked from Zeke over to Kenai, still smiling widely. "Hey Kenai..." Was all the warning he gave her, before shunpoing behind her and tackling her into a fierce hug, laughing as he did it.

Re: Consumed Kenai's lips twitched into a smile as she watched the joy light up Osu's eyes. She chuckled and shook her head at them, then gasped in surprise as he tackled her in a hug, the wonderful sound of his laughter singing in her ears. She had rarely heard him laugh, at least, not like this, this careful, genuine laugh that reached into the bones and made her smile. She twisted around and hugged him back, her eyes sparkling with happiness.
"Hey yourself." she grinned, and wrapped her arm around his neck and rubbed her knuckles gently over his head in a noogie. She released him with a light tap on the nose and winked at him. "Well, you seem to be in one of the best moods I've ever seen. Now that we've found someone that can make you smile without cracking your face, now maybe we can find you a partner, eh? What say you Zeke, you think you could help with that?" she asked, turning to the amethyst male. Zeke laughed. Why yes I can actually. he said, and his eyes glittered with mischief. Re: Consumed Osutin laughed and flailed a little when Kenai gave him the noogie. His smile slowly faded though, when Kenai mentioned finding him a 'partner'. His first thought was that he already had a partner: Zeke. That thought was canceled when Zeke commented with that he knew who they could 'patch him with'. His smile flickered back for a moment when Zeke snorted and ruffled his cloths, but faded again as he blinked and looked between the two of them, completely lost as to what they were talking about. "A partner? But I thought Zeke was my partner now? What are you two talking about?" He asked, sounding as confused as he felt.

Re: Consumed Osu listened to what Zeke was saying, but it wasn't making any sense. He stood there, blinking and looking at the two of the blankly, thinking about what they could possibly mean. Then, it clicked. His face flushed a bright red, which he tried to hide by turning around quickly. His voice came out slightly stuttery. "I-I don't know what y-you're talking about." He said, folding his arms over his chest. He knew very well what, or rather who, they were talking about. Jessa Hinote Karite, the female Reaper he had met some time ago, who had saved him from being killed by her brother and their dragons after a small misunderstanding. He glanced back at the two behind him for a moment, scowling at them and still blushing.

Re: Consumed Zeke grinned and laughed at his Rider, his eyes sparkling. He paused for a tiny moment, blinking. He had called Osutin his Rider without even pausing...He didn't know what to think of that. Ella had always been his Rider. To think of another in such a way was so strange, yet at the same time, so right. He hoped Ella would not think badly of him for it. She huffed outwardly and snorted softly. Oh, then the name Jessa Hinote Karite wouldn't mean anything to you, eh? he said with a grin. Kenai's shoulders shook with the effort of containing her laughter, but it was plain enough in the twinkle of her eyes.

Re: Consumed Osu could feel them laughing at him, and while he knew they weren't doing it to be mean, he still didn't like it very much. He growled a little when Zeke teased him with Jessa's name. He spun quickly, both arms flying to his sides. For an instant he looked like a child throwing a tantrum, then he shouted. "No! The name Jessa Hinote Karite doesn't mean anything to me!" His voice echoed through the other wise silent forest. After a second he realized how he was acting and calmed a bit, still blushing though. "I'm...I'm sorry Zeke, Kenai. I shouldn't have yelled." He said quietly, hanging his head. He had just yelled at his dragon, his partner of mind and heart, and his best friend. He was ashamed of himself.

Re: Consumed Zeke grinned at Osu when he spun around and yelled, knowing he didn't mean such a thing the instant he felt and thought it. Zeke padded up to the Soul Reaper and crooned in his throat, nuzzling Osu's chest affectionately. he pricked his head up when he heard footsteps behind Osu, and blinks open his eyes to look. Standing in the trees there, hidden by shadow, was the very one they spoke about. Her silverish hair was longer, the red streaks in the bangs more vivid than when he had last seen her, but her eyes still sparkled with some inner joke. He pulled his head away from Osu, coughing softly. He nudged the Soul Reaper to turn around with his mind, indicating that there was something he wanted to see. With a second look, he caught a glimmer of what might have been tears in the young females eyes.

Re: Consumed Osu put a hand on Zeke's snout and rubbed gently when he nuzzled his chest. Osu felt her approach before Zeke heard her, and his regret for what he had just said doubled instantly. He didn't want to turn around and see her reaction, scared that he might see hate or something worse. When Zeke nudged him mentally though, he didn't have much of a choice. He turned slowly and looked at Jess, her beautiful silver hair streaked his red, her sparkling eyes, her mouth that was normally turned up in a slightly confident smile was set in a small frown. It tore at him. "Jess...I'm sorry....I didn't know you were here, I didn't mean it." He said, taking a few steps toward her. "I didn't mean it...they were picking on me. I didn't mean it..." It hurt him to see her this close to tears, more so that it was his fault that she was. It hurt him on a level he hadn't know he had. The normally tough, laughing, confident Jess this close to crying, and it was all his fault.

She had felt him in the vicinity and headed toward him, her heart soaring with joy at seeing him again since he rescued her...only to hear him shout that her name meant nothing to him. She took a step back and looked up, biting her lip, her vision a little blurry around the edges,"Am I really that bad to be around..?" she said softly, her voice thick with tears that she was trying to hide. He stopped behind her, his arms wrapped around around her waist, his head leaned against hers, his voice shaking slightly, and silent tears falling from his own eyes. "No, please. Don't leave. I'm sorry Jessa, I am. They were teasing me and I was still trying to get used to being newly bonded with Zeke. I'm sorry. I swear I didn't mean it. I just snapped..." He pleaded with her, his grasp on her close but loose enough that it would break if she still wanted to leave.

Re: Consumed Jessa stiffened a little when he suddenly appeared beside her with his arms around her waist. She stopped and looked up at him, both for his apologies and for what he had said. She blinked up at him, tears still glistening in her eyes. "Bonded...to Zeke? Like...his Rider? How is that possible?" she said, her voice still thick. She bit her lip again then and, after hesitating for a second, she laid her head on his shoulder and relaxed against him. "Okay...I believe you..But what were you arguing with them about that had to do with me?" she asked, blinking away the left over moisture from her eyes. Something wet landed on her neck, and she half turned to look up into his face. She was surprised to find him crying. Silently, but crying nonetheless. She gently cradled his cheek with her hand, wiping away a tear with her thumb. "Why do you cry, Osu..?" she asked worriedly.

Re: Consumed Osu gave a small nod to her question about him being Zeke's Rider, not trusting his voice enough to speak coherently. He tried to clear his throat before she asked her next question, which made him choke a bit and smile nervously. The choke managed to get his voice working again, somewhat. "Uh, um...D-don't worry about that, I'll explain later." He said sounding nervous about the subject of what they had been arguing about. He coughed to try and clear his throat the rest of the way, causing one of his tears that had stayed on his cheek slipped and landed on her neck. When she turned to face him, cradling his cheek gently and wiping away his tear, he had to grit his teeth to stop him from renewing the streak on his face. It took him a moment but he finally answered. "I hurt you with what I said...I made you cry...and it hurt me to hurt you." He said, not completely sure if it would make sense.

She bit her lip a little when he started explaining why he was crying, and her expression softened into a warm smile that reached her eyes, though she did look a little surprised. Her cheeks brightened to a soft pink and she looked down, suddenly shy. "I hadn't known you cared that much for me. I thought I was simply another woman to you. A friend, but still, you know what I mean." she murmured softly, hiding her eyes behind her silver and red bangs.

Re: Consumed Osu looked at her, his sadness slowly leaving and taking his tears with it. He looked at Jess, at her eyes, hidden behind her silver-red bangs. After a moment he brushed her bangs aside and gently cupped her chin with one hand and placing his other on her cheek. He gently pushed her head up so their eyes would meet, and then did something that would probably make Zeke and Kenai's jaws drop. He kissed Jessa full on the lips. He helds it for a few seconds and then broke it slowly, looking at her and smiling gently as he did. "That is what you are to me..." He said, hoping she understood his meaning.

Re: Consumed Jessa sighed softly at his touch on her chin and cheek, her eyes half closed. She opened them when he tilted her head up, meeting his eyes with her own. She didn't expect for him to lean forward and kiss her. Well, maybe she would have if it was a kiss to the cheek. This was the first time she had ever been kissed in an intimate way. He didn't press her for more or try to deepen the kiss, just lightly pressed his lips to hers. They felt warm and soft. She blinked several times once he pulled away. Her heart beat against her ribs hard, and she felt warm and tingly all over. She looked up at him, at the gentle smile on his face. She smiled back a little, her eyes gleaming. She looked down for a moment, then back up to his face. "How...how long..?" she asked shyly.

Re: Consumed Osu smiled a bit at her question, and paused to think a moment, looking upwards at the trees over them. "Do you remember finding me on the island? The one I blew a 3 mile wide hole in with my cero? Since then." He looked back at her and smiled wider, his heart hammering in his chest. Though he didn't show it, he was scared out of his wits right now. What if she didn't feel the same way? It looked like she did, but that might be just because he had kissed her, she could still tell him he was a freak and to go away.
Suddenly, a cold chill crept the air following by a heat wave. Both had come from behind him, and he recognized both energies. He turned around slowly, his face ghostly pale, and looked at both of Jess's brothers, Ka and Rath. Rath was covered in a thin sheet of frost and had a few Heaven and Earth Seals for water and freezing around him, and his ice blue eyes felt like they could freeze dragon fire with a glance. Ka, on the other hand, had a few random fires on his clothing and was surrounded by Hell Seals for burning and destruction, and his eyes were burning nearly as bright as the fire on his cloths. Ka spoke first. "Hey Rath...did you just see what I saw?" "If you mean Osutin kissing our little sister, then yes. I did." "Ok, just wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing anything. I wouldn't want to tear the guy apart for no reason. Left or right?" "I'll take the right, you can have the left." Re: Consumed Jessa blushed and looked down, feeling...bubbly inside. She smiled slightly then stiffened, the Crest on the back of her neck tingling from the near presence of her two older brothers. She looked up and felt cold fingers and anxiety slide down her spine. She listened to them, not really hearing what they said. It didn't click that they were serious and actually planning on hurting Osu until they moved that a soft growl slipped up from her chest. She reach out and snatched Osu's coat in her hand and teleported in the same instant, taking him with her. She reappeared forty yards behind them, Osu behind her, her face set in a hard scowl and facing them. "Shame. On. The. Both. Of. You." she hissed, her eyes sparkling with rancor. "You both know how Osu is, and you know I can take care of myself and don't need you two watching my back." she teleported to Rath, grabbed him around the neck, teleported again taking him with her, appearing beside Ka, who she also grabbed. Teleported once more to the middle of where they had been, made them face each other, and slapped their heads together. The sound was aweful, but she knew their thick skulls would protect them from permanent damage. She let them drop to the ground and huffed, hands on her hips, a playful smile dancing on her lips. "The hell do you think you're doing? Come on you two, you know better than that." she said, and laughed, grinning.

Re: Consumed Osu had just began to start a defensive kidou when Jess snatched his collar and teleported to behind them, putting him behind her. He hadn't expected her to defend him like this, and didn't think she would do much more, so when she teleported again and grabbed both of her brothers and banged their heads together he was caught more than just a little off guard. He put a hand over his mouth to stifle a snicker.
Neither of them had plans for actually hurting Osu, just rough him up a bit; tease him. Neither of them had expected Jess to come to his 'defense'. When she teleported Osu to behind them, they both spun around. Neither of them had time to answer her before she teleported to Rath, grabbed him, them teleported to Ka, grabbed him, then teleported again and slammed their head together. They both saw white stars and fell over, stunned. Rath recovered first, slowly sitting up and rubbing his head. "Ow! Jess! What was that for?!" He said, glaring up at her softly from the ground. "Yea" Said Ka, sitting up just as slowly as his brother had. "We never intended on hurting him, just messing with him. No need to go and give us brain damage." Rath grinned over at his brother. "Well, give me brain damage. It's hard to damage what isn't there." He said with a smirk, to which Ka replied with a rather unkind, but good spirited, gesture. Then they both looked at their sister and teleported. Rath appeared next to her and got her in a head lock and began giving her a soft noogie, while Ka appeared behind her, giving her a wedgie. "This is for smacking our heads together!" They said in unison. She laughed outright at Rath's playful jab at Ka, grinning widely. She squealed when she found herself in a headlock with Rath giving her a noogie, and again at the wedgie from Ka. She wiggled and squirmed and finally got free, but laughing all the while. She shimmied her undergarments back into place and stuck her tongue out at them again. "You two are nuts, you know that? Completely, utterly, nuts." she grinned, and laughed. She looked behind her at Osu in the trees and grinned at him, waving at him to come over to her. "Come on, Osu. They were only teasing, they weren't going to actually hurt you." she smirked. She heard a deep rasping laugh and looked over to Zeke, to see the amethyst male with his jaws wide. Aye, they were indeed. If they had meant you serious harm, little one, they would have not gotten past me. he chuckled, rustling his wings. He had broadcasted his words so the entire group could hear him, and his eyes sparkled. Kenai planted her hands on her hips and huffed. "And what am I, chopped liver? I've watched your back ever since I told you about Haiken, you really think that I would stop now, even if I haven't seen for for three years..?" she said, a smile playing at her lips.

Re: Consumed "We are not!" The two brothers said together, both grinning. Ka looked over at Osu and made a 'come here' motion with his head. "Yea, we weren't really going to hurt you, we were just messin' around."
Osu from Jess to her two brothers, then to Zeke and Kenai. A single word rang threw his head like a crystal bell, rung by the hand of an angel in heaven. Friends. "Thanks guys..." He said only to Zeke, Jess, and Kenai, giving the three of them a brief mental embrace as he did. A slight shiver ran threw him as he realized that he had never been as alone as he had thought, and even less now that he was bonded to Zeke. He walked over to Jess and stood next to her, grinning again. "So what brings you two here?" He asked, wondering why they had suddenly shown up like they had. Ka started to answer, but Rath cut him off. "We were just passing threw and felt a few familiar energies, so we thought we were stop and say hello. Actually we can't stay much longer, Jia and Lee went ahead of us and are probably waiting for us." Re: Consumed Zeke nuzzled Osu's shoulder lightly as he listened to Ka and Rath, his scales prickling as he detected an untruth. He snorted softly and leveled his ice blue gaze on both of the brothers. Both of you know better than to lie around me. he huffed, raising an eyeridge. As he said this, two things happened. One, he heard a roar. A draconic roar. And it was from a young gold-amethyst female with teal-green eyes, and a very protective temper. Otherwise known as Jia Goldscales, Ka's bonded partner. Second, another roar sounded, lighter and more trilling that Jia's. This was a white-opalescent female with blue eyes. Also known as Lee, Rath's bonded partner. Zeke looked up and couldn't help a smirk. From the sound of it, both of them were agitated. What did you two do this time? he asked, his tail twitching with humor.

Re: Consumed Both Rath and Ka looked up sharply at Zeke when he gave them a small reprimand about lying while around him. They had both forgotten that he could detect it when someone lied near him. They were going to protest this and say they were both telling the truth, until two distant roars cut threw the air. Both of their faces went a few shades whiter as they looked at each other. Ka was the first to move, sprinting for the river, and the waterfall, that Osu had slipped on earlier. He had seen it when they came threw earlier and noticed that there had been a shallow cave behind the water. Not deep enough to hide in if a dragon went feeling around, but the water would mask his scent and keep him visually hidden, since he planned on suppressing their link so she couldn't feel him out.
Rath did something similar, but instead of a waterfall, he hid up in the thick leaves of a nearby tree that was on the other side of the river. The river would stop his scent and the breeze coming up off the water would keep Lee from sniffing him out, while the leaves kept him visually hidden. While Rath and Ka were running around like chikens with their heads cut off, Osu gently took Jess's hand, giving her a smile as he did, and walked over to Zeke, sitting down next to him. Once he was on the ground he nodded to Kenai to join them. "Lets watch and see what happens, shall we?" Re: Consumed Jia roared again and flashed into sight, her scales glittering in the sun like jewels. Lee was just behind her, small sparks of electricity arcing all over her white-opalescent scales. Both dragonesses hurtled to the ground and landed with grace that belied the agitation in their eyes. Jia hissed and sniffed the ground, catching Ka's scent. Her pupils narrowed to cat-like slits. Kale. Hinote. Karite. she said in a falsely sugary voice. She had also said his full name, which she never did unless she was actually truly irritated at him. Lee's wings flared from her back, and there was enough electricity in the air to make the hair on the three twolegs near them stand on end. Rathon. Hinote. Karite. the lightning dragoness sang, sparks igniting on the membrane of her wings as she moved. Where are you. they both said at the same time. Jia raised her head, then lit her eyes, sweeping around the clearing for her Rider. Lee snapped her teeth and searched the ground for scents. The gold-amethyst hissed when she saw something and tensed to spring like a giant lethal cat. Caught you! she exclaimed, her scales bristling. Lee sniffed around a little bit, then stopped when she found something on the breeze. She lifted her head and sniffed, then her upper lip quivered and peeled back slightly to show her teeth. Rathon, she chirped in a sweet voice, come out and play with us!

Re: Consumed Rath shuddered a bit when he heard Lee say in a falsely sweet voice for him to come out and 'play', which probably meant 'come out and let us lecture you'. "I don't think hell has frozen over yet...I'm not moving." He thought to himself, careful to keep the thought hidden from Lee. Suddenly he heard a loud snap off to his left, followed by his branch shuddering. His head snapped over and looked at where the branch met the tree and saw that the branch was breaking. It snapped again, and again, and again. "Oh fu-" was all Rath was able to say before the brach broke all the way and he fell to the ground in a heap. "Ow..." He said, rubbing his rear, which he had landed on while still sitting on the branch. Looking up and across the river, he saw Lee, looking not very happy. "Uh...H-hey there Lee...w-what're you doing here?" His voice stammered a little bit and he smiled at her nervously.
Ka had to clamp his mouth shut to stop the shout of surprise when Jia exclaimed that she had caught him. He had half expected to see her snout or paw coming threw the waterfall to snatch him. He pushed himself as far back into the cave as he could, which is when he noticed the fist sized hole in the back of the wall. He felt around it and felt only damp rocks. he would have made a light to see into it but he didn't want to for sure give away his position. That was when he heard a low rumbling sound, almost like water rushing up between rocks. He had no time to react before a strong jet of water burst from the hole and smacked him in the chest, knocking his backward out of the cave and into the waterfall, which then pushed him down into the water. He resurfaced a few seconds later, completely soaked, floating by Jia on his back. "Um...Hi there Jia. Nice day isn't it?" Re: Consumed Jia's eyes narrowed to slits as she looked at her soaking wet Rider. She lowered her head and snorted softly, grinning wolfishly. You are in so much trouble young man. she murmured, but there was a gleam in her eye that made it plain she was happy to see him. She snaked forward and pinned him down on his stomach with her claws, pinning at his clothes so he wasn't hurt. Her tail lashed and smacked firmly against his backside. Re: Consumed Ka let out a slightly strangled yelp as Jia pinned him in the shallow water. "I'm sorry Jia, we were going to tell you bu- AHYEE!" He was cut short by a firm smack of a dragon tail to his rather soaked rear, making him yelp loudly. He before he could recover from the first one, a second, third and fourth were applied to his rapidly stinging bottom. He wiggled under Jia's paw, trying to reach back to rub the sting out of his nether region. Across the lake he could hear that his brother was in a similar position.
As soon as rath hit the ground, Lee was on top of him, pinning him on his back, her claws threw his cloths so she didn't hurt him. "Like Jia just told Ka, you are in so much trouble." Rath didn't even try to respond, he knew it wouldn't do him any good. Then, an odd sound reached their ears, the sound of 4 wet smacks. They both looked over at Ka and Jia and saw that Jia was smacking Ka's rear with her tail. This gave Lee an idea. She turned back and looked down at her Rider, grinning fiercely. Rath paled a bit as he realized what she was thinking. "No...no you can't! Not infront of Zeke and the others!" He pleaded, but it fell on deaf ears. "Oh yes I can, and will. Maybe this will teach you not to go running off like a hatchling and worry me sick!" She said and picked up his legs with one paw, balancing on the other three. Then, her tail snaked under her and delivered a firm smack to the seat of his pants, making him yelp loudly. The first was followed by 3 more rapidly. By the time she was done, Rath was wiggling and squirming on the ground. Osu couldn't believe what he was seeing. Two of the strongest fighters he knew were being spanked right in front of him. He wasn't sure whether he should laugh or feel bad for them. Then, an idea came to him that was better than laughing or feeling bad. "Hey Jia, Lee, I don't think they've learned their lesson...why don't you keep going? Maybe Jess should help you too..." He called out to them, grinning evily. The two brothers looked at him sharply, giving him glares that could melt metal and set trees ablaze. Her tail lashed, smacking five times sharply in a row without pause. She glanced up when she saw a Seal appear on Ka's backside, and saw Jessa with her hands raised, one aimed at Ka, the other Rath. Jia smiled at the female Reaper, then returned to spanking her Rider. Run off like that and worry me sick, did you really not think that I would come after you, if not just to make sure you weren't hurt. she hissed. She sounded angry, and she was, but it paled in how much she had been worried about why he had snuck off like that.

Re: Consumed Ka and Rath's glares at Osu didn't last long as Jess created her Seal. Rath recognized it as a variation of a Seal their mother used to use on them for corporal punishments. Her's had felt like a cane and generally didn't last long, Jess's felt like a thick piece of wood or a paddle, and was obviously meant to last for a long while. The Seals, combined with the tails of their respective dragons, sent both of them into a fit of wiggling, squealing, and apologizing, all of which Osu found unbearably funny. "I try" He said to Jess, trying to hold back his laughter. After one particularly loud yelp from Ka, he couldn't hold back his laughter at their predicament any longer, laughing loudly and holding his stomach. He laughed so hard he ended up slipping and resting against Kenai, tears coming from his eyes. He wouldn't let them live this down for a long while.

Re: Consumed Kenai grinned as Ka and Rath each got their own punishment. She gave a sidelong glance to Osu when he finally gave up and started busting laughing, slipping after a while and leaning against her. She looked up and met Jessa's eye, seeing the sparkle in there too. Kenai's grin widened. Without giving him warning, Kenai grasped Osu around the waist, pulled him facedown into her lap, and gave him a hard stinging swat on his backside. "That, my friend, is for laughing at someone else's misfortune." she chastised, swatting him again, and again, but also making sure he was pinned and couldn't wiggle away. She felt Zeke jerk a little behind her in surprise and glance back at his rump, then the ruffle of air as he snorted once he saw the reason for the sensation at his rump. Jessa chuckled and shook her head, while Kenai just grinned and kept on swatting Osu on the rump.

Re: Consumed Osu hadn't been expecting to join Ka and Rath in their torments, but that hadn't probably been the join when Kenai pulled him into her lap and began swatting his rear. He yelped, failed, and wiggled in an attempt to get away and failed to do so, letting out a long stream of loud curses as he did. "Kenai! Let me go! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" He asked, or rather yelled, continuing to curse and whine. He also noticed that Zeke wasn't coming to his aid, and was likely laughing silently as his predicament, so he made sure to keep their link open so he would be able to feel Osu's discomfort as his own. All three boys yelped a wiggled and pleaded to be let go as their bottoms were assaulted by tails, seals, and hands seemingly without mercy. It was an experience that would likely haunt them for quite a while.

Re: Consumed Ka made a small 'eep' like noise when Jia lifted him. When she looked at him and whined, nuzzling his stomach, guilt bit into him. It stung almost as much as his rear. Almost. When she set him down and told him to sit, he looked at her as if she had just asked him to swallow nails. But, the guilt kept him quiet. Slowly, he sat down, wincing as he bottom touched the ground, keeping it irritated and stingy.
"Oof!" Said Osu, when Kenai shoved him over next to Ka. She she told him to sit he glared at her, hard. he thought about saying no and remaining on his feet, but reminded himself of the position he had just been in, and that there were two irritated dragons near by that wouldn't hesitate to give him the same treatment they had just given their Riders, which would be worse for him since Kenai had just finished with him. He decided to keep his bottom 'medium rare' rather than 'well done' or 'extra crispy', and sat down next to Ka, hissing as his bottom stung from being sat on. Lee stopped her swatting soon after Jia did. She let Rath up and wrapped her tail around him, pulling her close to her chest. She then wrapped one from leg around him in a hug. "I was so worried about you. Don't ever do that to me again...please..." She said, sounding sad for the first time since her arrival. Rath's stomach churned as he felt her fear and worry as his own, and she in turn felt how ashamed Rath was for running away. She let him go then and nuzzles his belly with her snout, then grew serious again. "Now then mister, go sit down next to your brother. Flat. On your tail." Rath hesitated to move, and got a few swats for it. With a yelp he teleported next to his brother and sat down quickly. A little too quickly. He reacted as if he had sat on hot coals, jumping up and rolling over. He had started to rub his burning rear, but was stopped by a warning growl from Lee, who had jumped over the river and was standing next to Jia. Once the gold-amethyst was done, she started with Osu. "You should be ashamed mister. Never laugh at another persons misfortune, or you just might find yourself in the same position because Fate likes to play with people that way." she scolded, scowling fiercely at her best friend. A smile was pulling at her lips, so he would also be able to know that he was partially teasing him now too. - - - - - - - - - - Zeke just huffed with amusement at his Rider, his ice blue eyes sparkling with humor. The tip of his tail twitched lightly, but that was all that he moved. Jessa sat back against his belly, and he curled his neck around so that his head could rest in her lap. He closed his eyes part way when the female reaper started stroking his snout, her fingers occasionally reaching under her scales and scratching lightly. He sighed with content, although he kept one ear open to the conversation of the others. - - - - - - - - - - Jessa leaned back and just watched the action with a small smile on her face, her eyes glittering as she listened to her brothers and Osu all get a firm scolding. Her grin widened when she thought of how she would tease them all about this in later days. She didn't know how just yet, but she knew she would. maybe make a seal appear on all three of them at once and start randomly snacking them. Re: Consumed Neither Ka nor Rath replied to Jia's scolding, they just sat there with their heads hung, twitching from their stinging bottoms. Lee spoke up once Jia had said her piece. "What if something had happened to you two and we couldn't get to you in time? What if you had been seriously hurt?" Neither of them answered so she continued. "Now why don't you tell us what you thought was so important that you should run off without telling us what you were doing..." At this, neither boys stiffened and glanced nervously at each other, but remained other wise silent.
Osu didn't look nearly as repentant as Rath and Ka did for their actions. On the contrary, as Kenai scolded him he looked as if he were bored. He feet were stretched out in front of him and his hands were behind him. He didn't think she could see it, but in this position he could lift himself up off the ground slightly and ease his stinging bottom. He wasn't lifting high enough to be readily noticeable, but enough to make the sting more bearable. "Yea yea yea. Fate, karma, whatever..." He reached out a tendril of thought to Kenai and informed her of this, to which he saw her eye twitch. She marched forward and planted one foot in his lap and pushed down. "Thanks for the info, Zeke." she said with a wink over her shoulder. Zeke just grinned and closed his eye once more, chuckling mentally.

A yelp could be heard threw his clenched teeth. When she told Zeke 'thank you', Osu shot as much of a glare at him as he could manage
Ka muttered something in Reapric under his breath when Jia prodded him. Letting out a sigh at her plea, he looked at her. "A girl found us in a town while you two were hunting and pleaded with us to help her captured friends. They were going to be sold as slaves in Uru'Baen...and she said she would do anything in repayment for our help." Re: Consumed Osu made a high pitched mockery of Zeke's voice in his head as a retort. "You brought this on yourself you know. Bah...".He eased up his glare and tried to fight a grin, knowing Zeke was just teasing him. When Jessa raised her hands to make another seal, all three boys tensed and grimaced faintly, expecting another spanking seal. When they felt the soothing cool, they all sighed and relaxed at the same time, Osu more than Rath and Ka, who were nervous about Lee and Jia helping them rescue the ladies.
Ka gave Jia a pained grin, one that he hoped looked like he was happy to have her help with his 'mission'. He put a hand on her snout when she nuzzled his stomach and glanced at Rath who shrugged. Lee grinned a toothy grin and snuffled his hair, making it flip and become mussed. He smiled at her and fixed it with one hand, them reached up to scratch her under the chin. Aye, you did though. he purred, the tip of his tail twitching with mischief. He snorted softly and grinned wolfishly. He watched Jessa stand up and walk over to Osu, extending a hand to help him stand. Once the Soul Reaper was on his feet, the female Reaper wrapping her arms around his neck and gently pulled his head down to her and pressed her lips to his. Zeke laughed and sent plumes of smoke curling into the sky, along with the occasional tendril of fire. Once she pulled away several seconds later and pressed her forehead to his Zeke smiled warmly at what he heard her murmur. "That is what you are to me." It was good seeing Osu happy. It made the amethyst happy.

Then a mischievous glint entered her eye, and she snorted quietly and bumped his hand with her snout. Re: Consumed Osu glared at Zeke until Jess came over to help him up, then he turned and looked up at her and took her hand. When he got to his feet, he was surprised to feel Jess's arms around his neck, pulling him down to her. Though, that's nothing compaired to the surprise he felt at her kiss. His surprise melted into a quiet joy and happiness, and he kissed her back softly. When she broke the kiss, he looked at her, smiling from the kiss and her comment, and for the first time in a long time, the smile reached all the way up to his eyes. Jess made him happy, and he hoped he made her happy because that was his goal from now on: to make her happy.
Ka's face turned a bright red at Jia's comment about how the girls had intended to pay them. He glanced at Rath and saw that his face looked as red as his own felt, so he assumed Lee must have told him something similar. "And you're not...mad...about that?" Re: Consumed Osu wrapped his arm around Jess and smiled at her, giving her a peck on the cheek. He turned back to face the group as Zeke told them the news, wondering how they would react.
Ka was a little surprised by Jia's response. He had expected her to be vehemently against it. He smiled a bit and scratched her on her muzzle in silence. When Zeke began to speak, he turned to listen. It took him a moment to fully register what Zeke had said. He looked from Osu, who had his sister at his side, to Zeke, who was grinning. He looked back and forth a few times, unsure of what to believe. Then, as if reading his mind, Osu held up his hand to show them his Mark. Ka grinned fiercely at his two friends. "Congratulations you two...I never would have thought anyone could tolerate Osu enough to Bond with him, haha." Lee nuzzled Rath's stomach affectionately, rumbling lightly. "I have no problem with how they wish to pay you, I have a problem with you not telling me." She said, glancing up at him, her eyes flashing a bit. "Eh, so wait, you're ok with it?" He asked, and got more nuzzling as a response. He grinned a bit to himself and started to gently scratch her under her jaw, making her rumble deeper and her eyes close slightly. When Zeke began speaking to all of them, Rath looked from Lee to him, noticing that Jess was at Osu's side. When Zeke gave them the news Rath and Lee's jaws fell open at the same time. Ka seemed to have kept his composure better than they did, but they didn't care. "Ye-yea! Congradulations Osu, Zeke. I hope you do well by each other." He said, his brain slowly getting back into gear. Lee moved from Rath's side to Osu and Zeke's. She snuffled Osu's hair and nuzzled her side against Zeke's. "This is a happy occasion! Let's go to the nearest town to celebrate!" Zeke hadn't been quite himself since Ella had passed, it was good for him to be bonded to another. She snorted, her pupils narrowing playfully at Lee as the dragoness exclaimed they should go to a nearby town to celebrate. She chuckled deep in her chest and grinned. You know Ka hates drinking. He gets drunk too easy. she teased, tousling her Rider's hair with a playful snort.

He glanced over at Rath, who was grinning a bit as well. "That sounds like a wonderful idea." Rath said. "I have no objections...Osu, Zeke, Jess, Kenai? Are you four ok with it?" Osu nodded his head, smiling. Now they just needed the approval of Zeke and the girls.

When the party goes after sundown things tend to go wrong.[/i] he said with a huff, and crossed his arms over his chest, having changed to his human form in mid-sentence. He grinned at his Rider and winked. I'll bet you if you asked one of the boys, or even Jessa, that they would show you how to change forms like myself and Jia can. he murmured privately to the Soul Reaper. There was another flash, and Jia stood in her reapric form, which she took often since the War so she was always ready to defend herself, but still looking human. Jessa shook her head and laid it on Osu's shoulder, a smile on her face that reached her eyes,"I'm okay with it, and Zeke has a point." she conceded. Kenai looked skeptical, but her eyes were warm with contentment and happiness. "That would be good to have a chance to unwind. I'll warn you, I don't drink. I never have, and I don't plan on starting." she said with a grin.

Re: Consumed Lee let out a happy rumble as one by one, the group agreed to her idea. "That settles it then! Let's find the nearest town!" She exclaimed and leaped into the sky and began to circle above them, waiting. Rath chuckled and shook his head, his partners over-active hyperness beginning to affect him as a grin began to widen on his face. "I'll try to keep her in check, you guys sort out where we're going." He said and teleported up into the air next to Lee, assuming his dragon form.
He was as large as she was, which was quite large. His scales were a glossy black color, veined with thin lines of midnight blue and purple. When he flew over head at night it would be nearly impossible to see him. His eyes remained their cold ice blue color. Two horns curved up and forward over the top of his head, stopping just short of the length of his snout. His tail was covered in sharp spines that could easily impale a human or seriously wound a dragon. The most unique thing about this for though was that each wing beat made no noise at all, where as Lee's wings could be heard as the buffeted the air around her. Unless someone saw Rath, they would never know he was there. He began to circle above Lee and in the opposite direction, waiting for the other's to choose their destination. Osu watched, a little jealous, as the other's changed their shape. The dragons taking a human form, and Rath taking a dragon form. He had seen a few kidou that could mimic that, but not that fast, nor with that level of success. He grinned back at Zeke when he said that they might teach him out to do it too, suddenly wondering what he would look like as a dragon. He wrapped a gentle arm around Jessa when she laid her head on his shoulder, smiling back at her. "What ever you say Kenai. I think I have a few pictures from that christmas party Felix held that would speak other wise." He said, grinning widely at her. He didn't know the area well enough to give any suggestions about where they could go that was near, so he figured he would let the other decide. Ka decided to remain in his reaper state, rather than change like the others where doing. He watched his brother and Lee fly over head for a few seconds, noting that his brother's dragonic form was slighlty superior to his own, making him grumble a bit. He waited for someone to speak up about where they could go, but when no one did, he figured he might as well decide. "How about Belatona? It's not too far from here. He said aloud and mentally. Rath and Lee let out a dual call of agreement that shook the birds from the trees and made a few loose rocks fall from the near-by waterfall. "Alright then...you guys?" Re: Consumed Jessa grinned up at Osu, then at Ka. "Sounds like a good idea to me." she replied, then pulled away from Osu and to a clear space. She touched her Changing Seal and let the shape roll over her. When the light cleared, she uncurled her body and lifted her head. She blinked a few times and shook herself, feeling out of proportion in this strange dragon body. She snorted softly then swung her head around to look down at Osu, her blue-grey eyes gleaming. Unknown to her, her scales, which were as silver as her hair, shone like perfect silver mirrors. The red of her hair had changed to her horns, which curled gracefully down both sides of her jaw and parallel to her muzzle. She had no spikes down her back or neck, but more than made up for it on her tail where there was a collection of them all the way to the tip. She hummed in her chest and lowered her head down to Osu, getting the hang of moving her large body quickly.
Jia chuckled and Changed to her true draconic form. She crouched down and angled her shoulder down to let Kenai and Osu mount up. You twolegs can ride me. Re: Consumed Osu watched Jessa change, and had to shield his eyes from the sun reflecting off her scales. Once he could see again, he gasped quietly at her form. The first thing he thought was that it was the second most beautiful thing he had ever seen, the first being her original form. At Jia's comment about riding Jessa, his face flushed a little as his first thought was not that of flying. He reached out and gently stroked her muzzle, unable to stop the grin that slowly spread over his face. "Sure, if she's ok wit it." He said, trying to keep any unintentional underlying meanings from his words.
When Jia took her original form and couched, Ka teleported onto her back out of habit and looked down at Osu and Kenai, grinning at the male's red face from Jia's comment. "Kenai, why don't you ride with me on Jia and let Osu and Jess fly alone?" Re: Consumed Jessa huffed softly and nuzzled his hand. If she could have blushed, she would have. She glared at her brother and at Jia, then ignored them altogether. I would be alright with that. she replied, her eyes sparkling. She dipped her shoulder forward to allow Osu to climb up to the juncture of her neck and shoulders where he could sit. Once he was in place, she crouched and leapt into the air. Or, tried to. She skimmed along the ground for a bit, her claws brushing the grass, until she figured out how to beat her wings while still staying aloft. She lifted into the sky until she circled evenly with Rath and Lee, waiting for Jia to catch up with Ka and Kenai on her back. Jessa trumpeted softly. Lead the way then, I have no idea where Belatona is. she said with a deep, guttural dragon laugh.

Re: Consumed Rath roared and shot up into the sky, followed close by Lee. Once they were both above the clouds they leveled out and started to slowly circle each other, up and down. "This way...but we need to stay this high or higher so we aren't seen" He said, actually wanting to be seen a little bit. It had been a long time since he had been in any kind of fight.

It is just a little ways to Belatona, even flying." He said, breaking off from Lee and flying higher and to her left a bit. Lee, on the other hand, broke off and went right and down, flying just over the clouds. He's right. The roads to and from Beletona are highly traveled and likely to be guarded. The last thing we want is Shruikan coming after us, even if we do have him out numbered." She said, her normal playful dittzyness mostly gone, replaced with a cool seriousness.

Re: Consumed The group flew like this for a ways, each one enjoying the fresh wind in their hair or against their scales and the sights that one could only see while flying. The distant ocean, just barely visible over the horizon as a shining streak of blue/white. The green rolling hills of the Spine before that. The golden orange sands of the Hadarac, seeming for all the world to be a bright pile of gold coins in the distance. All was peaceful for once, and they loved it. But all good things must come to an end.
At first he Rath thought his vision was playing tricks on him, but as he continued to watch he realized that their plans had just been cut short. In the distance, off to their right, was a group of black dots. At least that's what a two-leg would see, but since Rath was a dragon for the moment, he could see what they really were: a group of 5 corakenia on their mounts, the gulfor. The only grace was that he didn't see a Jilakt among them. "Guys, we have a problem..." He said, sharing his sight with the group. Ka stiffened on Jia's back, as did Osu on Jessa's. Lee let out a low growl, her scales bristling and zapping lightly with electricity. "Let me kill them Dear one." She hissed. She had deduced from Rath's memories that these things meant nothing but harm for her Rider and his friends, which meant they must be dealt with in short order. Osu spoke up then. "No...I'll take them. I've been itching for a good fight for days now, no offense Kenai, but our fight doesn't count. He said with a grin. "Jessa, stay here please..." Re: Consumed Something about what Zeke said struck a cord with him. "Never alone..." The words rang through his head, strange to hear and accept even though he knew them to be true; he was still trying to come to terms with being bonded.
He glanced over at the large dragon flying parallel to him and grinned slightly. "I would warn you to turn back, and that things are likely to turn ugly, but somehow I doubt you would listen, so instead I'm going to tell you to not get in front of me while I have my mask on." It wasn't advice, or a suggestion. It was a simple statement of fact, and one that he hoped Zeke would have the sence to abide by. In a few short moments, the two were on the corakenia, who had noticed them by now, and formed a semi circle in front of them. One of them hissed when the pair came to a halt. "What do you want...we have no quarrel with you..." This came from the middle one, likely the leader of the group. [i]"Maybe not, but you've caused our friends back their quite some grief in the past...and that's reason enough for me to kill you."[/b] He sounded confident, and he was for once. He was sure that he could take on all of them by himself and win, so they didn't stand a chance with Zeke here as well. "Ooooh...you're friends with the Royal Ones then. That changes things." Suddenly, something flashed and everything changed. The lush green landscape was replaced with dark, cracked, red land, barren of life in every direction. He could still feel Zeke, but he couldn't see him, or the corakenia for that matter. "Zeke!" He called out, the wind his only answer. He didn't know it, but his mind had been transported into a fake realm inside of a jar that the lead corakenia was holding. Osu's body was currently falling toward the earth at an alarming rate of speed, his entire being having been transfered to the jar. "I would catch him if I were you, dragon." Re: Consumed Zeke's scales bristled harshly, a guttural snarl vibrating his chest. You have a bad habit of underestimating me and my friends.... he murmured. His ice blue eyes flashed with light. "Letta!" he snapped, fueling the spell easily in his irritated state. Osu stopped falling and merely hovered in place, far from the ground. The energy to maintain the spell was no more than the energy he used to fly. He spun on the Corak, flames curling around his teeth. Fools. he growled. His eyes locked on the jar and he dipped into his magic again. Within moments the jar was safely in his saddlebags, teleported there by his spell. His upper lip curled with his distaste. Now.....die. he hissed. All the Corakenia clutched their chests as their hearts exploded. Slowly they all slumped in the saddles of their mounts, or fell onto the ground completely. Zeke opened his maw and bellowed his flames down onto the corpses and the mounts, burning all of them to ash. Once he was certain they were all dead, the amethyst male turned and flew to Osu, gently taking the twoleg into his forelegs like a precious hatchling. He crooned worriedly and nuzzled Osu's chest. When he got no response, he looked up at Ka, Rath, and Jessa. Have either of you ever run across this kind of thing before? he asked, his eyes wild with worry.

Re: Consumed Rath and Ka watched from a distance, fear clutching at them when they saw Osu's body fall, then calming a bit when it came to a halt, followed by Zeke roasting their foes. They waited for Zeke to return, but noticed that he was still anxious, even though the coraknia were long past dead. When he showed them Osu's limp body and asked if they had seen this before, they were both stumped at first. "He's just asleep isn't he?" Ka asked, confused at Zeke's question. Rath knew that something else was going on though, other wise Zeke wouldn't have asked. He looked over Osu's body for anything that might give him a hint as to what Zeke was talking about, but he could find none. "I'm sorry Zeke, I don't know what you're talking about. He said apologetically
Meanwhile, in the strange jar that now rested within Zeke's saddle bag, Osu wandered the lifeless wasteland, trying to figure out where he was. He stumbled around the red cracked earth for what seemed like days, no food or drink, yet he was neither thirsty nor hungry. Suddenly, he heard a laugh. It sounded cracked and dry, but sinister at the same time. Before him, the dust began to gather and swirl and take shape. Once it died down, he gasp. As he stared, a perfect copy of him stared back, made from red sand and glowing yellow eyes. "Hello Osutin...Welcome to your new home, you won't be leaving here, ever. It said. Osu growled and reached for his zanpakuto, the thing not even flinching. "What is this place?!" He yelled. The thing grinned and wagged a finger at him. "Not what, where...it is where all your dreams go to die, everything you've ever wanted or hoped for but failed to get is here, all dead. Look! There's one of your dreams now, to become Captain Commander some day, but that dream died the day you slaughtered your squad didn't it?" At Osu's feet, a small dust cloud floated by, or what looked like a dust cloud. Now that he knew what he was looking at he could see faint images in the sand, what he had hoped would be him wearing the squad 1 haori. Then, a gust blew it away in an instant, not unlike what happened in reality. He looked up from the ground and stared daggers at the thing before him. "How do I escape..." It wasn't a question. The thing smirked. "You don't...you wander among your broken dreams for eternity, realizing what could have been and how wasted your life had become until your depression over takes you and you end your own life...there is no escape" It vanished just as Osu drew his blade and swung it horizontally in one smooth motion known as Iaido, aiming to slice the thing in half. Re: Consumed Jessa tilted her head and drifted closer to Zeke, examining Osu carefully. She tried to touch his mind and found nothing. Not like he was shielding himself from touch and secluded within his own mind, his mind was gone, out of his body. She snorted softly and maneuvered herself above Zeke, so when she Changed back to her original form she landed on his back. She carefully made her way to his saddle. Did you take anything else from them? A container of some kind? she asked the male.
He seemed startled. Yes, I did. It's in my saddlebags, on the right side. A jar. he informed her. Jessa nodded and searched for it. She took it out and cradled it in her arms, careful to not drop it or break the glass. If I fall unconscious, someone catch me and the jar. she said to the others. She gazed inside it, unfocusing her eyes at the same time, before closing them and concentrating. When she opened them again, she was in a barren landscape that resembled a dryer, less sandy version of the Hadarac. She cupped her hands over her mouth and called out his name. "Osu!" it echoed around her surroundings like in a canyon, though there were no walls visible for anything to echo against. "It's Jessa! Where are you?!" _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Re: Consumed Ka and Rath both watches curiosly as their sister examined Osu's body. They watched her, Osu, and the jar carefully.
Inside the jar, several years had passed, but Osu hadn't aged a day. It confused him at first, but he slowly grew accustomed to this new hell. Everyday seeing what could have been. At first they had been decently real: him making Captain Commander, starting a family, gaining riches. Normal stuff, but after a while they became more and more fantastic, and the implied reality of each slowly chipped more and more from him. One that he couldn't seem to escape was one showing Zeke and him flying over the clouds, both happy and content with each other and the world as a whole. This was bad because this place showed him lost futures, meaning he would never see Zeke again, never fly with him, never be happy again. For all he knew his partner of heart and mind was long since dead. This continued constantly for what seem like years. He couldn't even sleep to get escape it, as sleep did not seem to exist. He would close his eyes, only to see exactly what he would if they were open. There was no respite from the torture. When he heard Jessa's voice cut threw the silence, it scared him at first. He hadn't heard anything but his own sobs in what seemed like a life time. Then he heard the name, and it felt familiar. He felt compelled to find who this person was, so he followed the sound. Distance had no meaning in this place, so he was there in a matter of seconds, his appearance beyond ragged. His face was covered in his own dried blood where he had a brief laps in sanity and tried to claw out his own eyes, only to discover that they would heal instantly. Blood crusted his clothing all over where he would try and cut it by stabbing or cutting himself, only to find that he would have no peace in death. his hair was matted and grey in places from constant stress. His cloths, bloody and torn to pieces. His eyes were empty of any kind of light, just staring blankly at the person who stood before him. "Who...are you?" His voice was scratchy and cracking from his screaming, and, if she looked, she would be able to see a line of blood where he tried to lop off his own head, which damaged his vocal cords in the process, but they didn't heal right just to add to his torment. Re: Consumed Jessa's breath hissed between her teeth in shock at his appearance. Tears filled her eyes and silently slipped down her cheeks. Pain radiated through her, pulsing. "Osu...it's me...Jess. Jessa...Don't you remember me? I'm a Reaper...My brothers, Kale and Rathon, they are outside...and Zeke, he's so worried about you....but I don't think he's as worried as I am right now. Osu it's me, Jessa. Please, remember me." she pleaded softly, stepping forward and cradling his face in her hands. She kissed his chin, each of his cheeks, his nose, his forehead, the corner of his mouth, murmuring his name between each kiss, her tone desperate. "Please, Osu..." her lower lip trembled softly. She knew what this place was, she had studied it at Glan'nari in fascination. The only way for someone to get out that had been put here was for them to accept the risks of the world and figure out they they can forge their own destiny, create their own fate. And if it failed, then perhaps it wasn't all bad in the end. By Osu failing to become Captain Commander, he came to Alagaesia, met Ka, Rath, and Jessa, and was given the chance to bond to Zeke and realize he would never be alone again. Jessa's tears blurred her sight as she placed tender kisses all over his face, but avoided his lips....She didn't know how he would react to a full kiss in this state. Her heart ached and she begged silently for him to remember.

Re: Consumed Osu felt like he should remember those names. Like they were a part of something from long ago. He didn't move when she kissed him, each kiss sending a small thrill through him, as if ringing a high pitched bell. Her touch felt like fire against him. Her scent sweet as fresh flowers. Then, all at once, it came back to him. How he had gotten then, what had happened before, who she and the others were, and who he himself was. He rent ridged for a moment, his pupils dilating wide as energy shot threw him, then they refocused, their flame renewed. "Jessa" His voice was still cracked, but not weak. He embraced her and kissed her full on the lips, long and passionate. When he broke the kiss he looked into her eyes, tears spilling over his own. "I'm so sorry I forgot you and the other...I've just been here so long, I nearly lost myself...I'm so...so sorry." He said, unable to think of what else to say. "Do..do you know what this place is?" He asked after a moment.

Re: Consumed Jessa looked up at him when he stiffened, and she noticed when his eyes dilated and focused sharply. She nearly cried out with relief when she heard him say her name, but was silenced with his lips before the sound could escape her lungs. Her arms wrapped around his neck and clung to him, holding him to her as they kissed. When he finally pulled away her breathing a little heavier than before. She frowned slightly when he said he'd been here so long. She cupped his face with her hands and gazed up at him. "Osu...it's been only maybe ten minutes since you were forced inside here." she murmured. She stroked his face gently and smiled, her tears slowing a bit. "It's fine, you're fine, don't worry about it. I have you back now." She looked around at their surroundings, her hands sliding down his neck to his shoulders and gripping him protectively. "Yes, I do. It's used as a form of torture for breaking someone's mind and will. Very effective, too, as I'm sure you noticed." she glanced up at him warily before continuing. "It's called the Deserts of Fate. It shows you everything that could have been, your lost hopes and dreams, your lost desires." she squeezed his arms gently and smiled. "I know of the way out of here, but it's up to you. You have to believe in yourself. Not everything that was lost was in vain. If you had accomplished anything in your homeland that would have kept you there, you never would have come here, to Alagaesia..you wouldn't have met my brothers, or Zeke....or me." she smiled a little. "Just because one door closes, or even slams shut in your face, doesn't mean another, possibly even bigger door, won't open up later down the road and give you more than you could have ever imagined for yourself." she bit her lip and stepped back, away from him, so she wasn't touching him. She looked deep into his eyes and swallowed a bit. "Will you let the past control you, let what you lost govern your actions, in the here and now? Or will you learn from them and use them to your advantage to make an even better future." she murmured. It was up to him. There was a way for her to get him out herself, but this was the safer way. If she tore his mind out of this place, a piece of him would always be imprisoned here, wandering forever. If he let go willingly and followed her, his mind would be intact. She crossed her fingers behind her back, but none of her anxiety showed on her face. Only affection, trust..and even need, deep within her eyes.

Re: Consumed Osu listened as Jess explained what he would need to do, his eyes glazing out as she spoke. Thoughts flashed behind his eyes, each one making his eyes spark then grow dim again, like a film projector starting up. Slowly the sparks got faster, and faster as the thoughts grew and quickened. He was remembering what all he had done since he came here, the friends he had made, bonds that had been created, and then imagined what was still to come. His eyes flashed with vibrant life and his wounds where healed and cloths mended, followed soon after by an ear split crack. Directly above them a large blue crack had formed in the sky, the others would see it as a crack in the jar though. It grew as his eyes flashed again, his reitsu beginning to pool around him a Jess in small flame-like formations. Suddenly a large flame surrounded them and shot into the sky, breaching the crack and shattering the world they were trapped in.
Osu sat bolt upright and took in a deep breath, followed by a fit of coughing and sputtering. His eyes watered a bit in the light of the day and took a bit to focus on his friends that were around him, then his eyes watered for a different reason, and he smiled. "Hey guys..." Re: Consumed Zeke became increasingly worried as the minutes passed by with no move from either Jessa, or Osu. They were almost to the town before the amethyst felt a stir against his mind, coming from Osu. His eyes shot down to his partner of heart, and was overjoyed when he sat up with a deep breath and began coughing and spluttering. His gaze softened with worry and affection, a deep purr thrumming in his chest. Little one.. he murmured softly. He cradled Osu close to his chest, nuzzling his Rider's stomach gently. His ice blue eyes glowed with affection and concern. Are you alright? He felt Jessa shift on his back from her position, and a few moments later she was balancing down his foreleg to where Osu was cupped in hire forepaws. She knelt beside him and wrapped her arms around his neck, tears in her eyes. Zeke hummed softly at the sight and smiled.

Re: Consumed Osu laid a hand on Zeke's snout and petted him gently, smiling a small smile. For the first few seconds of coming back he didn't realize they were still flying. It wasn't until he saw Jess balancing on Zeke's foreleg did he realize they were still airborne. He started to tell her to be careful, but she was already hugging him around the neck. He couldn't help but smile and wrap his arms around her. "Yes, I'm fine now, thanks to Jess...and everyone else here. I'll explain once we get to town." He said, giving Zeke a brief glimpse of the world he had been in.

I am glad you are back. he murmured to the Soul Reaper, his worry bleeding over to the male twoleg. The amethyst snorted and started to descend, the town approaching in the distance.

"Im glad to be back." Osu said, petting his snout gently. Once they were closer to the ground, Osu gave a short warning to Zeke, then rolled out of his grip and flash-stepped the rest of the way to the ground, coming to a halt above the trees. He looked in a 360 around him for a spot for them to land, and was troubled. "Hey, you guys hang on a second, there isn't a place to land yet." He passed on the image of the trees tops to them, then what he planned on doing. Before anyone could object and snatched his hand over his face and brought his mask forward and draw his sword. With a low growl he swept his blade diagonally toward the trees and muttered "Cero.". A black wave of energy shot from the edge of his blade and cut through the trees, leveling them and making a nice clearing for them all to land.
