Water magic - Kataar has the ability to manipulate and control any form of water in the atmosphere, whether it be liquid, vapor, or ice. While she is still developing her abilities with this magic, Kataar knows a variety of basic moves. She can change the water to different states and also knows a handful of combat moves. She has gone as far as being able to create a small wave. If she practices enough, she will be able to generate entire whirlpools and control tidal waves.
Healing - She has the ability to heal any kind of flesh wound. She can do so by using her water magic. She can also attribute certain properties to the water in order to use it as an antidote or antitoxin. However, she is still learning to be able to heal internal wounds and bleeding, something that is more known to only advanced water-magicians.
Wit - While it is not actually a skill, Kataar is a very clever and quick-witted girl and this can prove useful when she finds herself in any kind of predicament. Being able to think on her feet is a talent that is essential during a battle, especially in using water magic.

Parents: Her mother - Kai - passed away when she was young. She knows not who or where her father is.

Character Personality: Normally, Kataar is a calm and gentle person. She respects those who respect her and is kind to those who show her kindness in return. As a result of being on her own, she has become very independent and self-sufficient. She sees herself as somewhat of a loner, because she has no living family. Despite normally being calm, Kataar can be known to have a nasty temper. She can be stubborn and hot-headed at times, especially when fighting for something she is passionate about. Though it may take her a small amount of time, she is able to admit her mistakes and work to better herself through what she has learned. Kataar is loyal to those who she sides with and cannot stand to see others in pain. She is very hardworking and mature and people may sometimes forget that she is only still a young woman. Having been forced to embrace the reality of life at an early age, she has been unable to enjoy the carefree nature of adolescence and she feels that life has cheated her, in a way. She knows, however, that she cannot let her troubled past hinder her in looking to the future and helping put an end to the war that is plaguing the world.

Character History: When she was younger, Kataar was a carefree and spirited girl. However, when the world was thrown into chaos by reign of Galbatorix,, Kataar's life was turned upside down. The Empire soldiers ambushed her small village, killing all of the magicians who could pose a threat to the Empire, including her mother. She was forced to witness the murder and it is something that will forever scar her memory and her innocence. Without a family to take care of her, Kataar was forced to step up and take on many more responsibilities than a girl of her age should be carry. In the process, she learned many important skills that are essential to survival, as well as the importance of hard work and labor. During these years, she discovered that she possesses magical abilities, specifically dealing with controlling water. She inherited this trait from her mother. A year ago, Kataar was hunting in a deep area of the Spine when she came across what she thought was a large stone. Later, it hatched and turned out to be a dragon. Naming him Saru, Kataar raised the dragon and was soon marked with the gedwey ignesia upon touching him. She and Saru left the tribe to train in secret. Kataar is now the only living water-magician to also be a Dragon Rider. Although she possesses the ability of magic, it is difficult for her to master her talent without a proper instructor. Nonetheless, she has been able to perfect a number of basic techniques and she, along with Saru, is currently training and working to gain more expertise in her talent.

Weapons: Her main weapon is her water magic. She carries a small pouch of water on her belt at all times to use in case of an emergency. In addition, she holds some ability in smaller weapons such as throwing knives and she also carries a small dagger which used to belong to her mother.

Character's Physical Description: Kataar is a physically fit young woman and stands at 5'6". She has thin muscles running along her arms and legs and on her abdomen. Her skin is naturally tan and smooth. She has sharp, white teeth, bright eyes, a small nose, thin eyebrows, and a charming smile. She normally has an inquisitive and thoughtful countenance. As well, she is very agile, quick, and highly flexible, making her well-suited for fighting with magic.

Dreams for the Future: To aid in overthrowing the oppressive Empire by somehow joining the Varden. To do this, she also needs to master her water-magic.

Parents: Unknown

History: Saru's egg was found abandoned in the deep reaches of the Spine. His parents had lost his egg during an encounter long ago with the Empire, and it was thought that he had not survived. His egg remained untouched for years, until Kataar found it while hunting. He was upset over the loss of his parents at first, but he soon realized that he can not control the past. He is now focused on the future and what he needs to do to overthrow Galbatorix.

Personality: Saru is a very strong-willed and free-spirited young dragon. He is always ready to train and fight and is constantly looking to the future. He never seems to lose hope and his zeal and enthusiasm burn like bright flames, enlightening those around him. He is always trying to better himself through his training. He believes that he and Kataar were destined as Dragon and Rider to be the ones to finally exterminate Galbatorix.

Color: Piercing blue [same as Kataar's eyes]

Appearance: Saru is a fierce and proud dragon and is excellent at combat during flight. He has very strong wings and has a short tail, making him incredibly aerodynamic. However, he is not especially muscular or strong. He has a number of spikes along his back and tail and a pair of jet black eyes.
