Who are they exactly. Thy must have names, even if they don't everyone has a true name right? I mean why does Ajihad trust them? If they has as much power as they claim couldn't they of manipulated Ajihad in some way. In the first chapter in Eldest Ajihad dies and the twins and murtagh are captured by Urgals. Mayby Ajihad was starting to resist the twins power so they arranged the urgals to attack and capture Murtagh. They may possibly be working for the empire. I can't wait till the next book and want to figure out what they were actually doing during the big battle under farthen dur. Please post your opinions, i'm personally very interested in this topic.

i don't think they are working yet for the empire, but might have a motive to go and work for them.

ye, mayby, after the battle of farthen dur eragon is suspicious of where they were during the battle. Nobody is sure exactly, but Murtague said somethin about they fought a large group of urgals, buy themselves???

They could have made all the urgals go crazy by "Probing them" *laughting*, I don't think the reason that they were not there was that they had already join them.

The Twins start to kill the Varden's magicians i nthe large battle at the end of Eldest, then RORAN jumps from a pile of bodies and bashes their heads open with a large hammer.

I wonder why there weren't enough army protecting the twin?? since they're vital to empire's strength, they should be well protected and since murtagh got very advance at magic, i suppose the twin must be got better too. But why can't they sense a bad intention from behind when roran approach? (eragon could, thanks to his meditation) Hmm maybe galbatorix taught a different method in learning magic.
And oh -- i'm so relieved that they're gone now

no it mentions there names once ONLY once and that was ajihad who mentioned it. it was in the first book

the twins might come back though because every year galbatorix is growing stronger every year right. well maybe he can resirect them some how. so thats something u have to worry about in the next book. hit me with a message if u think of soomething

Well there was obviously dark magic surrounding them... who knows what horrible wards the covered themselves in? *Shivers*
Well anyway... the magic was strong enough for the empire to fall when they did... they must have been controling the empire's army.... who knows?
Anyway I;m glad the Twins are dead. May they be tortured in hell for eternity.

the werent in charge of the whole empire forces...probably murtagh was, also too many of empire troops died to stand a chance of winning, twins werent especially big

i hate the twins and im glad they're dad, even i prefer taht eragon would have killed them but it turned to be roran but it's ok..! By the way fathskie is right i think the twin should be more protected. I can understand if eragon could easily kill the army protecting them, but this is roran who killed them almost in a snap that means there's no army protected them AT ALL !

they came in later on in the battle, and getting hit across the head with a hammer isnt much helped by wards

no, i think wards would've helped, i mean, arrows shot at eragon just went flying away, i think the twins didn't have wards

The Twins are with the Empire. There were many obvious hints that they were helping the Urgals enter at the battle in Eragon. Not hints but its very suspicious.

My personal opinion is that they didn't want to work for Ajihad in the first place. They probably stood by him to make him trust them and then when the time was right they planed the whole urgal attack or had some little thing to do with it. And if you all recall there was a mist that obstructed eragon and all the others from seeing the fight. That there tells you that probably, more than likely the twins did that. i mean where would a mist come from all of a sudden. MAGIC <the twins.
And ofcourse the their absence during the battle before had to add to this all this suspicious stuff afterward.
Well thats what i think sooo you guys decide if you think that right because I do.

I hated them two. I could tell they weren't who they said they were. They tried to make Eragon do some magic which was out of his energy-if you want to call it that. And now they're dead, they have done the Alagasia a big favour!
