OOC: Since this is going to begin in Uru'baen and the surrounding area, people and dragons loyal to Galbatorix seem like the most likely individuals Danuvaen would come upon. However, if you can figure out how to include others, don't hesitate. Creativity of all kinds is embraced.

A bloody sunrise had flooded the sky, bathing the world in red. Cold blue eyes watched morning's arrival from a gathering of hills near the Ramr river. Danuvaen inhaled deeply, testing the scent of the air. Most prevalent was the smell of a small herd of goats, probably belonging to a nomadic tribe about to venture forth into the Hadarac. Although his stomach rumbled like the growls of a thousand dragons, Danuvaen knew he did not have time to eat, nor could he afford to be seen before he was ready. His position was precarious, and at any moment his life could be endangered. Without a rider to heal him, he was in grave danger.

It took effort not to let out a cry of misery. The pain of his rider's death still gnawed at his insides, setting his heart afire. But even as the wound opened anew, his desire to wreak havoc upon Fernir's murderers strengthened. He stood on darkly scaled legs, his claws digging into the dirt. He needed to consider this carefully. A rogue dragon flying straight into Uru'baen would cause an alarm, a perhaps fatal alarm. And despite his sadness he did not wish to die. He had too much to do first.

Then again, Danuvaen knew Galbatorix was always on the lookout for another dragon to join his forces, especially one his size. Being male, he had long ago surpassed the size of Saphira, and it was questionable whether he or Glaedr was larger. He easily outsized the runt Thorn, just as he did Saphira. He hoped his colossal form would be enough to convince Galbatorix that he may be an asset to his ambitions. It wasn't really that he respected the king in the least bit; it was more that they had the same goal. When one desires to wipe out the Varden, who should one turn to but the very man they oppose?

His mind made up, he stretched out his wings and took to the sky, flying directly southwest to the city. He would go straight to the king's fortress, demand to be let in, and share his story in hopes that he would be accepted. He guided his flight with his tail and the angle of his wings, not moving at full speed. He didn't want to seem as if there were any rush, because he knew if the soldiers were surprised there was a good chance they would attack. His heart thudding in fear, he landed on the outskirts of the city and progressed cautiously, wings tucked in tight to his body, and his head lowered in a sign of submission. Hopefully any he met would understand his signals.

Post Re: Acceptance
Kimika and Indinth were flying near Uru'baen, on a mission to gather information and generally spy on what was happening in the dark city that Galatorix reighed over. Kimika, there is a dragon down there. Go down Indinth, but be cautious. We don't know what side it is on. The purple dragon banked to come round to the right position, then she tucked in her wings as she went into a dive. The wings were quickly snapped back open only a few moments later and the draogn leveled off. Kimika muttered the words to overlap Indinth's sight with her own and then she too saw the dark grey, almost black dragon. It was walking into the city, head low as if in submission, Indinth noticed this as well and hissed.

"We need to know if the dragon is on our side, or on theirs." She said, little did she know that he was on the King's side and would probbly tear them both to pieces. Indinth swooped down to land outside the city and Kimika quickly dismounted.
"Go and find somewhere to wait. I will call if I need help" She whispered and waited to the purple dragon to launch back into the air before creeping into the city. She stayed in the shadows and hastily caught up with the dragon, stepping out before it.
"Hold Skulblaka. What is your reason for being here?" She said, speaking in a clipped and concise manner, folding her arms across her chest even though she had her dagger hidden in one hand.

It took effort to lift his feet above the ground. Danuvaen knew dust coated his scales and his eyes lacked their usual luster, but that was fine. He had just enough energy in him to present himself to the King with dignity and ferocity. There was no way he would fail in his quest, for even if Galbatorix did not accept him, he would not allow himself to be imprisoned in Uru'baen. He would escape and become a wild dragon, killing to survive and staging many attacks on the Varden. He knew if he planned his pillaging in time with an oncoming attack from the Empire, he could weaken their forces enough to make a difference. He could be the end of those who had ended his partner's life.

Used to the respectful and even fearful treatment a dragon usually received, he was taken aback when a simple two-legs stepped in his path. Offended, he snorted and reared his head up, though his wings remained folded close to his body. No matter what the little pest wanted, he still did not wish to fight unless necessary.

'What business of yours is my business here?' he thundered, punctuating his sentence with a benign shoot of flame from his nostrils. 'I am not here to interfere with your task, nor should you mine. Move along and I will do the same.'

Considering the matter closed, he went around her, his tail twitching in annoyance. Whether it was on purpose or on accident, he honestly couldn't tell, but at the last second the tip of his tail caught the little two-legs across the chest. Either he didn't care or he didn't know, for he continued on his way, the matter done in his mind.

Kimika couldn't believe it, the dragon refused to tell er what he was doing, saying it was done of her business. Well, she'd see about that wouldn't she. Indinth, Would you be a dear and.... She didn't finished her request, the dragon's tail having caught her chest as it went passed, knocking her to the ground. She landed with a grunt, the hard ground hitting her hip and shoulder hard. There were no cuts or scraps though, but she knew there would be bruises.

Indinth had been laying outside the city, waiting for if Kimika called, then she heard her rider. The moment the request was cut off, she knew something had happened, just not what. She launched into the air and flew over the city, quickly pin-pointing her rider and the dragon just walking off. She swooped down with a loud bugle, backwinging as she came to land by her rider. What did you do to my rider? She near enough yelled at the other dragon, her voice filled with fury.

"It's ok Indinth. Just a little bruised, I'll be ok." Kimika reassured as she stood up, Indinth brought her head down to nuzzle against her rider's chest. That is not the point. He still hurt you. The amethyst coloured dragon replied, having scened the distinct male musk the moment she'd landed.

Post Re: Acceptance
Danuvaen did, in truth, consider himself to be above all this. He was prideful to a fault, and being slowed down by a two-legs was not on his agenda. He was almost completely out of earshot when he sensed a disturbance in the air. A glance upward told him he had in fact been speaking to a Rider, and her dragon was on its way. He suddenly felt threatened; he knew when Fernir had been alive, they were an unbeatable team, fighting and moving as one. Now, however, he was on his own, and he didn't feel half as strong. If these two were any bit skilled he was in trouble.

Unwilling to turn his back on his potential enemy, he turned around to face the two of them, his lip curled up in a defensive snarl. He wasn't afraid to lash out if they got too close, but he was getting nervous. He'd come here to do one thing only, one thing he was already frightened of. This constant interruption did not help.

An idea struck him just as the female dragon's thoughts did. 'I did nothing to this girl. If she was harmed, it is her own fault for getting in my way.' He spoke loudly and forcefully, projecting his thoughts as far as mentally possible. He wanted to get the attention of the soldiers, let them come upon them. He could take down a battalion of two-legs on his own, he knew. He would just need the distraction to slip away and get to the fortress.

Indinth really was happy with this dragon, who was he to be so blaise about hurting her rider. Kimika tensed as the dragon spoke, sensing the extra magic expended to expand the reach of his words. She was about to mutter the words to stop others hearing, but realized that it would do no good out in the open. You dare to alert... Then it struck them both. You are on their side.

Indinth hissed at him, baring her teeth and flared her wings. She couldn't believe she had been so blind to the truth about him. Kimika understood part of why Indinth felt how she did, the dragon was longing to find a mate. She edged backwards, to be out of the way, in case a fight broke out between the two dragons. I don't like this Indinth. Please be careful. You be careful Kimika. Indinth retorted, her anger at the dragon before being foremost in her mind.
