I voted Eldest just because Paolini dug deeper into character development and implemented new theories and magic development.

I liked Eldest better. CP dug much deeper into the development of multiple characters. In a competition letter for my english class, I wrote [that] "Such a complex developement of two characters so close in mind, different in opinion, and far from each other all growing so differently toward the same goal in different ways, and ending up to be so much alike and closer together that its hard to realize that they're so completely different. Such a complex arrangement of emotions and development has become so rare in modern day literature that I had begun to think that the concept had ceased to exist." That sentence pretty much sums up why I like eldest more than Eragon. It's not that Eragon was bad, it's just that Eldest was so good. But I like both of CP's books, and think he's a great writer no matter what he writes.

Totally disagree, I like Eragon better. Most of Eragon depicted Eragon's magical and physical prowress and is FILLED with "ass-kicking" action by Eragon. But Eldest... Yea it maybe full of more information about the characters and all, MOST of it depicted Eragon being plagued by the stupid SCAR by Durza. Which made him a cripple and unable to "kick-butts" and seem real weak which made me REALLY frustrated...

I liked Eldest better just because we get to see him interact with Arya more and we get to see him go through all these different emotions. I also liked reading about his lessons but I didn't like all the parts about Roran and the village. Some of those scenes were a little boring and I was anxious to see what would happen to Eragon next.

Eldest, it has alot more cooler stuff in it and Eragon is getting old, plus Eldest is more interesting.

Eldest-100/10 Eragon-8.5/10
Eldest was so much better written. However, I found the Nasuada and Roran part extremly tedious. I really wanted to skip them but I didn't so yeah.

Well it appears to me that the books only get better as the trilogy progresses. Eldest I find is ten times better than Eragon, since we discover a lot more history and background behind certain characters. Plus there's more action and I find it overall I bit more intriguing. I didn't care for Roran's storyline that much, but there was a few good parts here and there when we were seeing his point of view.

So i am one of the few who liked Eragon better, lol
Eragon kept me intrigued the whole time
It was an adventure learning going with Eragon and meeting all the characters for the first time
I liked Eldest too, dont get me wrong
Its just, the first of somthing is usally my favorite
Learning about dragons, the dragon riders, the elves... all for the first time
I felt i was there with Eragon as he learned all that, and it was exctiing

So you've read eragon the same amount of times I have read eldest, but you read eldest one more time than i read eragon. (that's confusing how i worded it lol)
Anyway, I prefer eldest to eragon because it introduced a tonne more about everyone, but it was also boring in some parts which wasn't that good...

nah, wasn't confusing at all to me
Thats why i didnt like Eldest as well, it gets boring in a few parts while Eragon is never boring!
Even after I've read it many times, it still isn't boring to me
My parents are listening to it on CD and every time i hear the guy reading Saphira's Voice I laugh my head off
He makes her sound like a guy with a sore throat growling
