On Thursday I got my wire shortend and it hurts like heck the lady that put my wire back in killed my mouth!!!!!

take an Ibuprofen and DEAL!!! Retainers are worse. They taste horrible, they make you salivate, and they can make you naushous (sp).

I had braces a loooong time ago and I never had any problems with it...
People always keep telling me how much braces hurt, but mine never did.

they hurt for like a day or two when u bite hard things... but i had mine on over a year.

Yeah! I only have to get braces if I want to.

I got braces. My wire on the lower teeth is of a 14 of strengh and my top one is a 16.

I was told that I if thought I need braces to get them. I say no and the dentist say I see him in a year and if I wanted them then I could get them.

I have braces- need them for 2 years, I've had them since last October, so still over a year to go. They really hurt me, I guess I just have sensitive teeth, or like to complain a lot. Anyhoo, I got annoying little hooks at the front now ready for elastics to improve the bite, (from top teeth to bottom teeth) and they scratch the inside of my lip. Also, I have little elastics just on the tops row- they're annoying but don't hurt. I hate my braces- now I'm not just 4 eyes, but 4 eyed metal mouth, or 4 eyed brace face! lol I'm such a freakish nerd. Oh well. I don't give a monkey's. lol

I need to make myself a new avatar, because since then I have braces, some glasses and I am starting to have a little moustache

i only had to have braces for a year, and thankfully i got them off last march!

I dont think I'll need braces, and if i do, then ill deal with it...I mean, i fell down the stairs with a screwdriver...

i had an appointment today and they tightened it more owwww and i just got more icky rubber bands

Im having braces next week. Im having a retainer again i had one last year but i had to have 13 and a half teeth out!!!!! At once!!!!! But im having them again now because im back teeth have coemt hrough. I've got to have mine for three years. Not the same retainer but one retainer then a fixed one then another retainer!! Lol!!
When i first had them i had a fight with a banana cause i couldnt eat it lol it was really funny then i tried to eat noodles!! That was hard let me tell you. My teeth didnt hurt though they did for about an hour then it went.

Yeah, whenever I get mine tightened I end up swallowing whole grains of rice for dinner lol. At first, I had 4 huge back teeth out, and on one, no matter how many times he injected it, the anaesthetic just wouldn't work, so he yanked it out anyway- one of the most painful experiences I've ever had lol.

Lol ive just found out i was meant to have my braces today but i forgot so now i hav to go in tommorow morning!!

Actually, you're not supposed to take ibuprofen if you have braces, because it stops your teeth moving, and well... that's the whole point of braces. Well, that's what my orthodontist told me anyway.

I hate it when people judge people on physical appearance

i have braces but mine dont hurt much only when they move but the worse was before i got them i had to get 4 teeth pulled

im going to get braces and because i have missing adult teeth on the bottem (which isnt being braced) its taken more then a year already.

I think braces are cute....lol...i don't have them dough......and i don't have to get my teeth pulled out, or any other life threatning procedure

... Getting your teeth pulled isn't life threatening... as long as you don't have a dumbass person pulling them out lol

I hated braces too. Gosh I'm glad I don't have them anymore. The orthodontists actually made me cry at one of my appointments cause it hurt T_T

Lol, my teeth felt slimy when I got mine off too! It's really weird, isn't it? And when I got my 4 teeth pulled, I actually had to buy a new school-uniform-shirt because it ended up covered in blood

They don't really have "head" gear anymore. Instead they have what I got 2 days before Halloween and I still have them. I have braces but I also have this thing called "herps"(sp?). Herps are the modern form of head gear, so fun. Not! It totally changes the shape of your jaw. They are these 4 metal bars that they cement on both sides and on your top and bottom jaw. The one on top is like a tube and the orthodontists put the bottom one inside it. It forces your bottom jaw forward which hurts so bad it made me start to cry and I almost never cry because of pain.

This is really hard to understand so try and find a picture on the Internet.

my friend had headgear like 5 months ago

I just got my braces yesterday and man, people kept telling me it hurts so bad and my one friend said whenever she gets back from an apointment she can only eat yogourt and soup for two days. It so doesnt hurt. But I still need to figure out where to put my lip....lol.


Never mind. I said that at around 8 this morning and now its 3.00 and my mouth really hurts. I couldnt eat lunch cause it felt like my moulers had been ripped out.
