Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore stiffened, he was proficient in many magic’s that elves didn't teach each other till they were of a certain skill level. He had missed a few basics here and there but he grasped those quickly on his own. So he wondered what he could be taught that his former master had kept from him. And he was confused further on what the Varden had to do with anything here in the desert.
He chose to not comment on what Elfrida said but answered Death. "I have a mutual respect with the Varden. They respect the fact that I’m against the empire and don't find the means in which I do so wrong. And I respect them for the same thing. Why do you ask?" Fenlore walked to his sword and grasped the hilt removing it from where it laid. The jewel in the hilt he felt was overflowing with energy. He stared at Eldunari in amazement, wondering how much power dragons truly wielded.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "How much do you know? Demonstrate your hardest spell. I will replenish your energy when you are done." She said ignoring the response about the Varden. "Can you manipulate minds without magic? Can you make yourself invisible without using more energy than it takes to snap a finger? This journey is one I saw that I would help you with the most. Teaching you what you will need to know soon."
Death and Blacknight watched to see how the human would respond. "I have an endless supply of energy." Death said. When Fenlore is drained he can use some of mine. You will need yours later. Elfrida nodded once, and felt the approaching Varden again. "We need to leave this cavern to continue his journey, but with them out there... We need to leave as quickly as possible." Elfrida told Blacknight, and Death. "We will probably have to depend on the Eldunari to get us out, as the Eldunari brought us here." Blacknight said. Elfrida looked at the mare, "Most likely. Do either of you want to teach him about eldunari?" Elfrida knew the answer to her question before she finished asking it. The two just looked at her, and she didn't ask again. "Tell me Fenlore, can you use dark magic? It is the most important thing I need to know about the training you have received." Elfrida said, looking at the darkness in the cavern around them.

OOC: They need to leave the cavern now so if you can make the dragons/eldunari transport them again, that would be good.

Fenlore sighed, so many questions about what he knew. He wasn't fond of it. He still felt the presence of the dragons mind fallowing the conversation.
"I know of dark magic and often was instructed on counter measures to many forms of it; for that was one of subjects that my master was investigating before his death. I was not trained to use it though I know of it."
Fenlore got quiet as he sat in thought for a while trying to come up with spells that were extremely complicated but not one that required the death of another. His mind seemed blank until he remembered his encounter earlier in the cavern.
Dragons. Help me complete this task with ease so we may be on our way. Fenlore said casting out his thoughts to the dragons showing them his plan. They did not speak but he felt their presence enter his mind and their strength was at his disposal.
He reached for magic and began speaking in a normal toned voice the words in the ancient language that would teleport Elfrida, Death, Blacknight, Bree, and himself to a small Oasis fifty miles to the north from here. He felt the drain of energy from the Dragons it didn't seem to dent their energy. Fenlroe found himself engulfed in light and once the light subsided he saw that he was standing ankle deep in a small pool of water with the hot sun beating down on his back.

"Good." Elfrida said when Fenlore had told her he couldn't use dark magic. "It kills most who use it, and affects the rest, like a disease that will not leave when someone is healed of it. Magic with the smallest amount of darkness will leave the desire for more, and more until it destroys the user." Elfrida added in her mind where the animals could hear. "There very few of us left. Most of us who can use it were, and are hunted down by all. Death or service are our two choices. But because three of us resisted, we are hunted."
Elfrida had not heard the ancient language used with magic in a long time, and had nearly forgotten how. Elfrida felt all of them being teleported, and she prepared to use magic. Though the teleportion happened in an instant Elfrida felt each bit of it. She grabbed magic, and used it to teleport to a spot about one mile away from the place the rest would end up. If he knows how to recognize dark magic then he should be able to counter it. She told Death before using it. Then she made a mistake, and used the type of dark magic that could not be identified as magic, and was therefore difficult to counter. Elfrida released it in annoyance and began to walk to where the others were.
Death and Blacknight looked around. Somewhere nearby Blacknight could smell the herd she had been born into. They traveled constantly from oasis to oasis. Elfrida walked up and said in her mind. Not today. It will be a little while yet.
"You did well considering you used the words, and the right ones." Elfrida told Fenlore. "You could have picked a better spot. Everyone gathers at oasis' and if you have enemies this would be the most likely place to meet them." Blacknight and Death looked at Elfrida. She wasn't telling all, but she had her reasons. They both wished they knew what she was holding back though."

Fenlore wadded out of the water and looked around. Elfrida was a long ways away. He thought over his magic and there had been no flaw. The words were absolute and the flow of his magic was not interrupted. It confounded him on what had happened.
When Elfrida finally joined them he listened nodding his head and the logic behind her words.
"I chose here for the water. And as it is I fear nothing in the desert unless Galbatorix flies here himself to kill me." He grabbed the reins to Bree and swung up into the saddle. He then amended his prior statement. "And I fear the dragons we just met. For their power was......amazing."
He looked up at the sky, he figured there was four hours of sunlight left.
"We have four hours till dark. Where are we to go?" He asked Elfrida.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida heard what Fenlore had said, but she wasn't paying attention. "Why this oasis? of all that you could have chosen, this is the worst." she said as she walked to the deepest section of water. At that moment she realized what the man had said. "Their power was great" Elfrida said, turning to face Fenlore. "But I have felt greater. Galbatorix would never waste time in the Hadarac. He would send his many servants first as you very well know." Elfrida turned away again, and used magic to pull the object she had been protecting for a while out of the water.
The yellow and black egg glowed faintly and Elfrida glared at it. If she hadn't been asked to watch it she would have left it in this oasis forever. She almost used magic to teleport the egg away, but something held her back, so she continued holding it, while glaring at it.
"This is the Hadarac. It is not likely to rain." Elfrida said, turning just enough to look at Fenlore, and keep the dragon egg hidden. "It would be best to find a place dry, and lifeless. A place nobody can survive--not even fire--Unless you would prefer staying with the Urgals. There is an Urgal city not too far from here." Death moved to where he could see the egg. "Oh, that's one reason you've been secretive. You think the egg Ebony, and Felena will hatch for you, and you despise dragon riders." Death started laughing at his friend. Blacknight glanced over when Elfrida turned completely around, and the yellow egg with black veins was revealed. "Death is right. I doubt Ebony, and Felena would give you the egg if they didn't believe it wouldn't hatch." The black mare told Elfrida.
Elfrida ignored them, and glanced at Fenlore. "The Urgals, or a place in the desert? It is your choice." she told him.

OOC: The introduction of Elfrida's dragon since the RP she got the egg in went dead.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sighed as she mentioned feeling greater power. He knew this, he had fought Galbatorix once and he knew that his power was greater. With a silent sigh he accepted the fact but when Elfrida mentioned staying with Urgals he wasn't sure if she was feeling okay.
"Urgals?" He asked, "Really Urgals? You must know something I don't about the Urgals cuase last time I saw one it tried to kill me."
He wasn't offended at the thought of meeting Urgals nor was he scared he just wasn't sure what was going through Elfrida's mind and he needed to know.
"No no no, I trust you so if you feel Urgals is the place to go so be it. But I do need to know what your overall plan is. What are you planning on doing? Where are you planning on going? What is my part in this? I need to know what is going on." Fenlore stared hard at Elfrida, his eyes unwavering.

Elfrida smiled. "So little trust. The Urgals are not evil, they have just been used wrongly by Galbatorix and his shades." She looked at Fenlore, returning his hard stare with one of her own. "You must learn. That is your journey--or all that I can reveal to you. There is much the Urgals can teach you, and you probably know little, or nothing of these things as they are reserved for... Higher up magicians."
Elfrida noticed that Fenlore seemed to be trying to guess at the truth, and her eyes started to do a little laughing, while she made the rest of her face stone hard, and expressionless.
"Galbatorix will stop at nothing to see those who threaten his rule dead, or in service to him. The Urgals will provide a safe place for as long as needed. Few know of their hidden city, and those who do are one's who would not betray them. If any word of their city, or it's location escapes you, and Galbatorix hears of it... I will just say that many will not live long after." Elfrida said as she stood unblinking.
She was determined not to back down first, as Fenlore had in the werecat portion of Elfrida's mind, challenged her, and her intentions.

Fenlore sighed shaking his head after a few minutes of silence. So many things he wanted to know and wouldn't be told. Bree seemed to agree with him on staying away from Urgals but the horse felt a regret for having to leave those three.
"Elfrida, I have no desire to die yet and seeing how I seem to know so little I ask you to do what you must in my instruction. But I do not follow anyone blindly. It was for that reason I gave up the life I led, out in these vast deserts. I will and do trust you. For I have no reason to not trust you but I still ask you to not keep me in the dark for long." Fenlore let his head drop a little in a small show of submission but his pride did not allow himself to go along blindly with Elfrida.

"You cannot trust me." Elfrida said. "Not for the smallest thing, not for the largest." she allowed her eyes to soften some. "I am sorry I cannot tell you all. It is not my place. I will not step outside the boundaries that have been laid on me. All I can tell you is that I have been given the task of seeing you trained, and prepared."
Elfrida started to use magic to teleport them, and quickly stopped herself. Using dark magic too often could bring about unwanted results. Elfrida formed a sunburst, and stared at it until she had remembered how to use magic of light. She contacted the Urgals, then said to Fenlore, "The Urgals are expecting us. This tribe is different than any other. They have given themselves to study, and not fighting. They still learn to fight, but magic, and learning histories are what they enjoy the most. There is no reason to be uneasy about these Urgals. Please, do not try to kill any, even if they challenge you. Are you ready to meet them?" Elfrida asked the last question in a way that said 'ready or not', and she prepared a portal. "Step through when you are." Blacknight, and Death went through quickly. They had stayed with these Urgals before, and knew that only good came from them. "Come on, we don't have all day!" Death said to the others.

Fenlore stared at the portal. She said he couldn't trust her but that was not the way he was raised. Trust was something that he had no right to not give it until there was a reason behind not giving it.
"Know this about my past quickly. When I was a bandit in these parts I killed many Urgal. I do not know if they were from this city or not but I know that vengeance is something that Urgals are known for." Bree inched close to the portal and stopped right before as Fenlore turned lightly in the saddle to speak again.
"Don't throw away or push away the trust of others. In this you still have much to learn." And with that said Bree walked through the portal.

Elfrida saw the Urgals greet those who had already entered the city, and stood unmoving. She knew she should follow, but she did not want to be in contact with the others. Those who trust her will she betray... Elfrida remembered the words spoken about her, and although she knew it was meant for the future she didn't like the idea of allowing others to trust her.
Slowly Elfrida stepped through the portal, and allowed it to dissipate behind her. She greeted the Urgals, and watched them leave to go about their business.
Elfrida had made the portal to the courtyard of a house that had been given to her by the Urgals. Blacknight immediately went to the horse area of it, and Death went with her. Elfrida looked at Fenlore and Bree and said, "Bree may stay here, wander around the city, or go inside. Whatever he prefers. There is a room for you, the second door to your left. It is probably filled with dust, and who knows what else, as it has not been used since... I don't know when--if ever."
Elfrida walked out of the courtyard, and to a hill she knew quite well. The last time she had been to this city was with her first non-animal/Urgal friends. The last time she had been here was when she was hunted. Nothing seemed different. Nothing except the egg she still carried.

Fenlore was on his toes as he entered the Urgal city. But it wasn't as he expected. The Urgals greeted him some speaking in their own tongue others in the common language. He didn't say much but held his chin high remembering the lessons that Orome had taught him about Urgals and their internal structure and culture.
He felt he did his best to not offend any of them or hoped. Once the Urgals left he listened to Elfrida and looked around. It wasn't a bad looking place and seemed to have a homely feeling about it.
Once Elfrida told Fenlore where to go he dismounted and Bree happily trotted after Blacknight.
He felt that something was off around Elfrida. She was disturbed he thought. So as she left the court yard he followed quietly behind. He came up behind her when she reached the hill and laid a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He wasn't sure what to say but he knew he must say something or anything so he didn't look like a fool.
"Our fate is never written in stone. No matter what others tell us we can change what has been seen." Or so his master had told him.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida flinched when Fenlore put his hand on her shoulder--she was not a very touchable person at best--but didn't move. When he spoke Elfrida shook her head slightly. "You are not the first to tell me that." she said. "But I cannot see how my fate can change. Not since I have tried, and failed to change it too many times to count." Elfrida looked over the Urgal city. It seemed more prosperous than it had before--not that the fact mattered much, it was just something to keep her mind off of fate, and duty.
A small jolt brought Elfrida back to her troubles as she noticed the dragon egg move a little bit. She looked westward to see where the sun was--The Urgal city was a little ways east of the oasis they had just left. The sun was had a few hours left maybe. She turned around and looked at Fenlore. "I hope you know how to prepare your own food. Don't expect me to do it even if I own the house, and you are a guest."
Elfrida walked slowly back towards the house, although she felt like dropping the egg, and creating a portal to some place far away. She could feel the unhatched dragon with her mind, and felt the young dragon touch her mind. Elfrida walked into the courtyard, and set the egg down on a small stone basin about three feet in the air. She knew the egg was about to hatch, and she didn't want to be around when it did. The only problem was that the young dragon seemed to sense that, and seemed to gather strength to destroy the egg shell. Elfrida dropped down just as egg shards flew in every direction, and nearly hit her.
The yellow dragon looked at her with her strangely black eyes and yellow pupils, and hopped down to the ground on wobbly legs--landing on Elfrida's left arm. It--well she had had a name before hatching--Ameris touched Elfrida's left hand, and created a bond before her "new" rider could move. Elfrida shook the young dragon off, and stood. Her hand didn't feel the shock most riders received as she was protected by the type of magic she used, but she felt a different type. Elfrida nearly groaned when she realized she had a dragon to deal with, and from nearby she heard Death laughing at her.
Elfrida picked up Ameris--quite annoyed--and looked at the little yellow dragon. Immediately the little dragon started speaking, and making rules. Elfrida nearly dropped her in surprise. She had thought dragons couldn't speak with their minds for a while. "Be careful! I am still fragile" the little dragon said in a commanding tone. "You are not going anywhere without me from now on! You will do as I say." Elfrida closed her eyes, wondering how much worse her day could get. Behind her Death was laughing so hard she thought he would laugh his spirit to death.

OOC: And here comes Ameris the over protective dragon.

Occ: ROFL "You will do as I say" HAHAHAHA I was laughing soo hard when I first read it. Poor Elfrida she has one demanding hatchling. Oh and sorry its short xP

Ic: Fenlore watched Elfrida as she left. He knew she was hiding much from him, he would say the same about him hiding things from her but he had nothing to hide. He continued to ponder the turn in events for a few minutes longer until Bree touched his mind and complained about his saddle and how he wanted it off. With a sigh Fenlore headed back to the house.
He entered courtyard and he stopped in confusion at the sight of the little dragon. He walked suspiciously closer but stopped before he was to close. He didn't speak but just watched the little dragon and Elfrida. He reached his mind out to touch the dragons and Elfrida. He wasn't sure what to do, the dragon look harmless but he still didn't trust dragons, he knew to little about them.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
OOC: I've been pitying--and laughing at--Elfrida ever since this dragon was planned. Elfrida's going to hate the restrictions Ameris puts on her.

IC:Elfrida opened her eyes and looked at the hatchling. She felt like sending it far away, but she knew she couldn't. Ameris bit Elfrida on the arm. Hard. Elfrida knew that she had failed to keep her thoughts secret from the little dragon. She had never liked dragons, or dragon riders very much, and becoming a rider was one of the worst things she could think of. The little dragon walked up Elfrida's arms, and stuck her face in Elfrida's. Stop thinking like that! You always nearly get yourself killed without a dragon, so I will keep you alive, and away from battles! Elfrida healed herself where Ameris' claws, and teeth had torn her. Things were not going the right way.
Ameris looked at the other two-legs who had just entered the courtyard, and reached out her mind to his. "Hi, I'm Ameris. Good to meet you." Although her voice was friendly Ameris watched the two-legs carefully, not quite trusting him. She dug into Elfrida's mind, taking memories, and learned about as much as she could of Elfrida's past before her 'rider' closed off her mind, and buried her memories. Ameris flicked her tail into Elfrida, and said where all could hear. "Don't you dare close me out of your mind! Open it to me! Now!"
Elfrida shook her head slightly, and slowly opened her mind--but only a little. The young dragon didn't seem pleased about that, but Elfrida refused to open it anymore that that. Elfrida nearly flinched when Fenlore touched her mind. She didn't want him, or even the young dragon to know her dark secrets. Ameris stretched her wings, and worked them until she seemed confident that she could fly. She jumped off of Elfrida's shoulder, and immediately fell, to the ground. Elfrida healed Ameris quickly before the hatchling could order her to. Elfrida looked at Ameris, then looked around. The only way she could leave without the dragon was magic, and at the moment Elfrida knew that wasn't an option. Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "Do you know anything about caring for dragon hatchlings?"
Blacknight walked up and looked at the little dragon. "Raising dragons is the one thing you haven't done." Blacknight said in an amused voice. "By the way Fenlore. If you leave that saddle on your horse much longer I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes displeased with you enough to require an apology." Death came up--still laughing at Elfrida. "Elfrida, it's time you learned something new. You haven't done that in a very long time." Elfrida sighed. "I do not want to be a rider. I have never wanted to be one, and now I am. I wonder if Ameris would settle for an Urgal." The last bit made the young dragon growl. Elfrida finally found a smile for the dragon--although it was hard. "This does not mean there will be a pause in your training." Elfrida told Fenlore. "You had probably do something to gain strength for your training--such as eating or sleeping. Since I am assigned your trainer by fate, and dreams I will see that you are trained, even if it nearly kills you." Elfrida had been intending to say 'even if it kills me' but with Ameris looking at her she decided against it.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore was a little startled by the dragon speaking. He didn't know anything about dragons but he figure that like every other intelligent creature out there knowledge such as speech had to be gained through time and from the looks of the egg shell everywhere this little dragon had just hatched.
"Greetings Ameris...." He paused for a second as he tried to think of a polite way to honor the noble but little beast. He came up with nothing so settled on a normal greeting, "The pleasure is all mine."
Fenlore looked at Elfrida with quizzing eyes after the little exchange. He moved slowly to where Bree was listening to everything. Caring for a hatchling? He questioned himself quietly. And before he answered he heard what Elfrida said about his training and his eyes narrowed. He quickly unstrapped Brees saddle and tossed it to the ground.
"So even though you will have your hands full with that little one over there you think you can still train me? I may not know as much about magic but I know enough to stay at par with elfs; I have even beaten many elves in combat. I have even killed a Shade! So why do you continue to look down on me for this small lack of knowledge I have?" He wasn't angry though his voice may have sounded it. He was truly confused on why Elfrida always seemed to undercut his abilities; even the elfs respected him for his ability. But he wondered why Elfrida constantly questioned it.

Occ: Well I know the shade didn’t die but Fenlore truly thinks he killed it.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "I have been trained as a rider, and only Ameris needs training--which I cannot give her. I will have plenty of time to teach you as my fate commands." Elfrida told him. "You have much more to learn than you seem to think." Elfrida blinked when Ameris jumped from the ground to her shoulder. A very unusual hatchling she noted, but put it out of her mind.
"The greatest honor in killing Shades is releasing the trapped spirits, but when they do not desire to be free then there is no honor." Elfrida said while tracing the dragon mark on her left hand. While Fenlore had spoken of killing a Shade, Elfrida had allowed her face to be doubtful, and now she said "Have you seen the releasing of spirits? Did you see them flee the body of the shade you 'killed'?" Elfrida made the word killed sound such a way that Fenlore would know that she doubted whether he had succeeded in slaying the Shade.
"If you wish me to stop questioning you then stop talking about how good you are, and start showing it." Elfrida told Fenlore before walking towards the house. Ameris started for acting rude. "You are just a hatchling. I am much older than you, stop treating me like a child!" Elfrida told the dragon. Ameris' tail hit Elfrida, and the little dragon growled loudly. "I am in charge here. Not you!" she told Elfrida. Elfrida gave up trying to be in control of the little dragon, and walked into the house, and stopped, trying to remember if the kitchen was on the main floor, or the second. Ameris told her with the memories she had taken from Elfrida, and walked to it, and began searching for something for the little dragon to eat.

Fenlore watched as Elfrida left. The release of the spirits, he wasn't sure what that exactly was. He remembers his sword piercing the Shade's heart though. He walked toward the room that he had been told was his. He quickly entered leaving the door opened. It was dusty and not homely at all.
"Out!" He barked in the ancient language as he grasped for magic. Quickly as he intended every speck of dust left the room.
"That’s better." He said as he leaned his sword against the wall and sat on the bed there.
"Now what am I going to do?" He thought aloud to himself. "Can't really leave now can I....I'll take advantage of this for now and get some rest. She couldn't mean to drive me too hard in training." He commented dryly to himself as he stared at his sword.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
After a long search Elfrida found there was no edible food around, so she went to find some. An Urgal had been sent to bring her some--thus saving her a long trip. When Ameris had eaten her fill Elfrida made a place for the hatchling to sleep, and left as soon as the dragon was sleeping soundly.
The night had come quickly over the Urgal city, and wherever Elfrida looked shadows seemed to dance about. Elfrida stood on the hill, planning the next day. First she would tire Fenlore out with magic to see how much he knew, then she would make him use simple spells until he nearly killed himself, and would have to receive energy from Death... Elfrida shook her head. That seemed to slow. She preferred quick and non-efficient to long and efficient--unless she was close friends with the one she was teaching.
Elfrida thought for awhile more, and finally decided how to teach Fenlore. She was about to leave when she noticed several Urgals of importance coming towards her. She stopped, and waited for them. Not until there was about three hours left until dawn, did Elfrida finally leave the hill. When she arrived at the home provided for her, Elfrida rested her mind, although she was still aware of all going on--not completely like the elves sleep, nor like any other race. Only the half werecat/elf it seemed were like this--able to do work while in a sleep-like state--although all Elfrida did was brush Blacknight, and sit in a chair for the rest of the time.
Because Elfrida was in this type of "sleep" she saw the large fire that was rapidly growing. Her mind came fully awake, and she ran to where she could put out the magic most effectively. Elfrida put her hand to her scar. Wulfe was near, but not near enough to be a hindrance--yet. Elfrida knew there would be a battle soon, and she went searching for the Urgal leaders to warn them about it.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sat on his bed the whole night in his meditative rest that he favored in places he wasn't used to. His mind pondered everthing that was happening. He wasn't sure on what kind of training Elfrida had in mind for him. He remembered Orome's rough training, the basics he had pounded into him, the days he would be forced to use magic till it almost killed him. How Orome made his do everything with magic for a week. He chuckled in his mind at wondering if training would be like this again. He was ripped from his meditation when magic was used to start a fire. He normally didn't have the senses to be able to detect the actual use of magic but he did now, but he didn't think on why he just acted.
Quickly he grasped his sword and sprinted out of the house. He saw Elfrida begin to work on putting out the fire but it was spreading quickly. He stopped and stretched out his mind to the fire, it was created by magic as he had felt. He reached for the flow of power within the fire he began to concentrate on stopping the flow of the power within the fire with hope of stopping the fire from spreading further.
What is going on? He shouted with his mind at Elfrida hoping she didn't have her mental walls to strong.

Occ: If im wrong about the fire I will edit^^ im guessing that it was started with magic and controled by it.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida heard Fenlore's mental shout despite the walls on her mind and looked at him. "Eldunari are being used to cause fires in the city. Lifting a rock with magic would kill Wulfe, therefore he uses Eldunari, and those from a distance." Elfrida told Fenlore, and then walked on to where she had seen the Urgal leaders. After telling them of the threat of battle, and convincing them that she was sure Wulfe was near Elfrida walked back to where she could easily feel, and sever the magic keeping the flames alive.

Death's spirit joined Elfrida, and gave her energy, and mind strength to sever the flow of magic. Blacknight had also come to the burning section of the city, and entered where she could to rescue Urgal children, and possessions. Elfrida felt claws dig into her shoulder, and an angry growl from Ameris, until Elfrida explained what was happening in a way that made the little dragon decide Elfrida was doing right. Elfrida felt the stares of Urgals at her and the little dragon. They had never expected her to become a rider, as she had not expected it. Urgal children who weren't helping put out the flames ran up to gaze at the Ameris--who finally decided to join them on the ground to their delight.
As soon as Ameris was distracted Elfrida moved quickly, and quietly to another spot, much closer to Wulfe and the Eldunari, Close enough where she could close her eyes and point to him in a crowd of a thousand. She knew he was waiting on the other side of the gates, but she knew she couldn't confront him yet. Not until the growing flames were dealt with.

Elfrida had been so intent on severing the flow of magic that she didn't noticed when it became significantly less, and the Urgals started to succeed in putting out the fires. Elfrida didn't notice until suddenly the flow of magic was gone, and all she could feel was her own, Fenlore's, and a handful of the Urgals who happened to be in this portion of the city at the right time. Elfrida turned her concentration on the fire, but did nothing against it, and asked the Urgal spell casters not to, as it could be used to begin Fenlore's training. "You have one minute to put out the entire fire." Elfrida told Fenlore mentally. "Do not forget that it covers more than one square mile so you can 'pace' yourself." Elfrida and the Urgal spell-casters watched the man to see what he would do.

Occ: Sorry i was gone for a while because of school.

Ic: Fenlore sighed and closed his eyes the flow of energy was immense. He knew that in a battle of strength against such a power would be extremely difficult and likely cause his own death. Seconds flew by as his mind raced for an option. He knew nothing of the Eldunari, except that they seemed far more powerful than he could hope to match himself. He searched the magic it was spreading to every particle that was within the city but as the fire grew the concentration of the energy that fed the fire had to spread out. This would take vast amounts of energy to the transfer the energy over any amount of distance. Fenlore looked in the direction of the flow; if he could divert the flow of the energy away from the city then fire would die. He knew that he could afford to craft the magic in a manner that would draw energy from the Urgal's who lived here nor could he use his own energy incase he was needed. There seemed almost like a surge of energy from his sword as one of his wards protected him from a falling piece of burning timber. The energy was vast, the energy that the dragons had given to him. A small smile touched his face. He had found his method.
Quickly sprinting knowing his time was almost out by Elfrida's standards he reached the wall beside the gate where the energy was coming from. Taking his sword he thrusted it into the wall and began to weave a complex spell that would copy the properties of his swords ability to cut through magic and the jewels properties of absorbing energy into the wall itself. Fenlore made it so that the sword itself would feed the spell at first untill the wall had absorbed enough extra energy from the spell being cast on the outside of the city to the inside. He felt what seemed like an extremely slow drain on the energy within the jewel. He expanded the spell to cover the city also and the energy consumption increased a little more. He could feel the fires behind him dying out though as they used up what energy that had entered the walls before he could finish the weaving of his magic. Once he was satisfied with his work. He held out his hand imagining his spear, quickly it left where he had put it and came to him, the drain of his own energy was small satisfying him even more.
The fire will die out with this. Any type of spell they through at the wall I’m confident the energy behind it will be taken. But what now? How did he even find us? Fenlore said with his mind moving in front of the gate. He wanted nothing more than a few days of peace. Something that would not come it seemed not even in a remote location such as this.

The urgals showed an immense amount of surprise at what Fenlore did, but Elfrida didn't so much as blink. "Your master must have been great to teach you to think through things. You would be called a great magician by most." Elfrida said, walking towards the gate. The closer she got, the more painful her scar got, and it started to bleed. "Wulfe has been tracking me a long time. When we are close enough we are able to feel each others presences. Even across an area of ten miles. Usually. There are sometimes when we cannot feel each other."
Elfrida stopped, closed her eyes, and felt the amount of Eldunari, and others with Wulfe. "Wulfe will wait a few days to attack the city." Elfrida said as she opened her eyes. "He rarely attacks at a disadvantage, and he is at one now." Elfrida turned around and said to Fenlore, "Take your rest while you can. You will face Wulfe, and you will face him whether you are tired, or not. Your battle with him will conclude your training, and if he attacks tomorrow... I will drive you close to death to see you trained properly." Elfrida walked past the urgals, to their training grounds. She knew what she had to do, but she didn't know if she had time to do it.

Fenlore looked at Elfrida as she walked away and shook his head. He lacked much knowledge that the elfs had, he knew this. He just knew allot more then what was expected of him because he is not an elf. Quickly before Elfrida could get to far away he sprinted after.
"You are going to have to work hard to break me down. Cause I don't go down easily." He said sternly, something about Elfrida made him want to be able to best her.

Elfrida stopped and looked at Fenlore, her face completely expressionless. "Even with all the energy in your sword you are still not strong enough. Can you summon the essence of light itself? If you can do that without dying then good, I will leave immediately knowing that there is someone as close to an equal in magic as there can be. To summon the true essence of light you must have the energy to destroy the world completely, without leaving a trace. If you can do that then you will have much more magic at your call, waiting to be used, without energy." Elfrida's voice was quiet, and almost threatening as she started to walk again. "If you think you are ready then we will begin now. Disappear so the Urgals cannot see even your shadow, and move as silently as death. Most who disappear leave their shadows, and die when they try to accomplish this. Do it, and if you survive your strength will increase." Elfrida did it wordlessly to demonstrate, and continued walking. She noticed several startled Urgals so she reappeared before they thought it was something Fenlore had done, and they retaliated.
Elfrida wondered if she should tell Fenlore the consequences given to those who succeeded in summoning the essence of light, but decided against it, as she was sure Fenlore had nowhere near enough power to do it.

Fenlore sighed and closed his eyes; he wasn't sure on what was being asked of him. But creating a spell that would make every part of him invisible would be difficult. That would involve his body and cloths not catching the particles of light as they hit his body. He reached for magic and not to be outdone by Elfrida wordlessly he casted a spell that made light pass through him instead of around him. Even to himself he began to be unable to see himself as light was no longer able to touch him making him drift off into the back ground. He was unsure if this was right the drain of energy didn't seem like much but the constant drain would take a toll after awhile. "Is this what you are looking for?" He asked unsure if it was.

OOC: Sorry I haven't replied in forever.

Elfrida was surprised at how well Fenlore did. "Almost." she said. "I have to apologize. I underestimated you. A little." Elfrida emphasized the word 'little'. "You have maybe twenty-four hours at the most to train. Until then you will be practicing, and perfecting this spell, as well as a few others." Elfrida looked at where Fenlore was -knowing where he was by the feel of his magic being used. "You need to hide all traces of your magic, and allow solid things to pass through your body - quite useful in battle when an arrow is coming at you. When you have accomplished this we will move on to an attack spell." Elfrida said, her voice beginning to lose it's coldness.

Occ: Its all good I think we both have been swamped.

Ic: Fenlore took Elfrida's words and he began to make changes to the magic he was using. He first began to mold the magic so that solid objects would pass through him without causing any harm to his being. As he released the magic in its adjusted state, the drain that had been small increased immensely and his feet began to sink through the ground. In panic he stopped the magic at the point to where he is stuck up to his waist in the ground. Exasperated Fenlore looked up at Elfrida, "Well I think I'll need every minute of that training." He struggled to move his legs but he was thoroughly stuck.

Occ: Im not sure where we are going with this.

Elfrida couldn't help but laugh at Fenlore - that was something she hadn't really done in a long time. A very long time. "It seems I forgot to warn you to leave your feet whole. You can only make your feet completely invisible when you can fly." Elfrida said, serious once again. Elfrida considered getting Fenlore out, but decided against it. "Make your legs only that which can pass through all, and use your arms to help yourself get out of the ground. The Urgals would not appreciate their road being torn up." Elfrida touched Death's mind with her own. Begin giving him energy she told the wolf spirit. Death complied, and began giving energy to Fenlore.

OOC: It could probably be ended after Fenlore fights Wulfe. I have an idea for once Fenlore's learned the two things Elfrida talked about.

Fenlore smiled at Elfrida's light hearted laughter. Without comment he listened to Elfrida's constructive criticism and felt the flow of energy from Death. Closing his eye's Fenlore spoke the words needed in the ancient language to free his legs from the ground. Once he pulled himself free he stood up and began to pace.
Fenlore knew he had a dilemma. Even if he was successful in crafting the magic that Elfrida want the energy required to hold the magic for more than 10 minutes would be immense and not within his own physical capability. "The problem is time. I do not have the strength to hold this magic for that amount of time a battle should take. The invisible magic doesn't take much but..." Fenlore stopped and looked up at Elfrida and sealed off his mind stopping the flow of energy that had been being given to him.
Slowly words came to his lips in the ancient language. The words were vague and seemed to be jumbled up, "Pass through...barrier...light...feet...solid." When Fenlore released the magic he became invisible again making it so light could pass through him again. He had the established a barrier that was two inches away from his body and when anything entered the barrier that had the intent to harm him it would pass through his body harmlessly.
Fenlore sighed in relief as the drain of magic was much less then before and only slightly more then what it took to become invisible. "I think I might have it now." He commented to Elfrida. "Perhaps you should test it."

Elfrida watched Fenlore closely as he worked out the problem of what she had told him to do. Suddenly he chose to block of Death's flow of energy. It seemed he noticed one of the two ways to succeed. Fenlore disappeared completely, without even a shadow - surprising the present Urgals again. Elfrida threw a rock at Fenlore with the intention of hitting him, and it went through. "Very good." Elfrida said. Now practice using this with your mind rather than out loud. I will not forgive you if you accidentally teach this to someone else." Elfrida began to decide which attack spell would be most useful to Fenlore. Suddenly she had it. The magic was one she had created in honor of someone she had once known, but she had never shared it with anyone. Sköliro kveykva - or Shielded lightning. Elfrida began to use it without words, and sent some lightning towards Fenlore. Once again Elfrida's attack went through, but it hit a desert tree behind him, and completely destroyed it, leaving only charred, smoking remains. "That is the attack spell you will be learning." she said, motioning for the Urgals to leave - which they quickly did.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore gasped as Elfrida had released the magic at him. It passed harmlessly through him but as it did the destructiveness of the attack drained a large amount of energy. He released the magic and couldn't help but glare at Elfrida. "You hold this type of power?" Fenlore questioned Elfrida. He knew that she was powerful but he felt what that attack was capable of. He knew that if it wasn't for the defensive magic Elfrida had just taught him he would have been obliterated. He knew that she was holding back most of her power. So why did she waist it by training him. Why did she waist her time on him. Why was she even speaking with him? These thoughts now plagued Fenlores mind as he began to realize just how out classed he was by Elfrida.
"Why? Why are you training me? Why are you even associating with me? You should be in the great forests of the Elves. Or standing among the kings of this world. Why are you here? I am below you..." Fenlore said as he looked at Elfrida with utter amazement.

Occ: well I was unsure where to go so Im asking questions I have had for a while.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida looked at Fenlore. She was finding the situation slightly amusing, but she didn't let it show on her face at all. "This is the power you get when magic takes no energy from you, but from light, and darkness." Elfrida said in response to Fenlore's first question. "These Urgals are friendly towards me, but they are aware that I can destroy their city with less energy than it takes to blink an eye. This is the fearfulness of the power I wield. What type of person are you Fenlore? Do you want that power?" Elfrida changed the end of her statement to a question. Most people wanted this power - that's why Galbatorix tried so hard to get Elfrida on his side.
Elfrida looked at Fenlore when he let out a torrent of questions. "The elves hate me, and my kind of half elf, half werecat. But they hate me much more than any of my people by far. The Varden do as well, and Galbatorix. But all three of these sides seek to obtain me like a tool, and to use me for their own gains." she said, quieter than before. "You are not below me, Fenlore. Your power may not be as great, but you are not below me. Power is not what counts. How you use the power you have been granted does. Never forget that." Elfrida realized she hadn't answered Fenlore's questions as to why she was training him, and why she was there. "Now get back to work so I can teach you!" Elfrida commanded. "Sköliro kveykva takes about the same amount of energy as making yourself invisible if you use it at the level I did, but if you use more energy it becomes much stronger. Sköliro kveykva both shields you, and attacks your enemy. You must learn to use it without saying it's name, because I will kill you if you ever reveal it's name to anyone else without my permission - even if it's an accident." Elfrida's voice became a little stern, and more commanding at the end, but her face softened slightly at the same time.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore turned from Elfrida with a grim face. He knew Elfrida was right that it was not how much power you had but who you used it. He knew that and still he could not place himself as Elfrida's equal. Here she was walking her own path when the whole world hated her and at the same time desired her. Not only that but she was helping him for who knows what reason. Fenlore grinned slightly at Elfrida. "Say what you will but I have seen no reason for any of them to hate you besides the fear of what could happen. Oh and you can answer the other questions later if you don't mind. I would be my mind at ease."
Fenlore then turned away from Elfrida and mouthed the words "Sköliro kveykva". The words held power in them. Power, Fenlore did not know if even wanted power of this magnitude. He knew not what would become of him if he grasped for more power. Things seemed to be moving fast ever sense fate seemed to bring him and Elfrida together. The feeling of the unknown frightened him. "Sköliro kveykva" He said feeding the words just a wisp of power, while concentrating on the ground in front of him. It blackened and cracked as the attack impacted the spot. It was like nothing he has ever done before. Normal application for attack magic for him would be less destructive and consume much more power. The mere sight of a small area of ground become black and deformed with only the use of a wisp of power was frightening him. But he did not give this fear away to those around him.
"Sköliro kveykva" Fenlore said again but softly and feeding the magic more energy this time. A small shrub was the victim this time as it was destroyed with nothing but ashes to remain. Fenlore understood why Elfrida was stern about this knowledge been kept secret. But he wanted to know more about the mechanics of the magic to help him figure out how to create it without speaking. "How does this magic work Elfrida? What sort of reaction creates such a strong force? I can't just be the magic alone. So what is the magic changing that causes this?"

Occ: I think I went a little over board =/

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. He confused her. One moment he almost seemed childish, and the next he seemed very mature. "Perhaps I will tell you all if you complete the third spell I will teach you. But you have to perfect the first two before I even give you a hint of what it is." Elfrida said calmly, watching to see what Fenlore would do. She smiled as he began using Sköliro kveykva, and experimenting with it's powers. In Elfrida's hands, this power was enough to destroy the world, and recreate it the way she desired, protecting only those she desired to live - something she had been tempted to do a couple of times. Elfrida watched as Fenlore used the magic again, releasing more energy. The magic she had created in hopes of seeing that one person again, in hopes that he would clear her name, and she would no longer be hated by both Varden, and Elves. She had created this spell to give to him, knowing his affinity for lightning... Elfrida looked at Fenlore when he asked what else made the magic work, a hint of a tear in her eyes. She did not want to answer, or even think of the answer, but she had to admit it, or she would not be able to go on living. Burn the past, and be free of it... Elfrida reminded herself before finally getting the courage to answer. "Love, and hate." she said quietly, and almost allowing her sadness to break through in her voice. "Greatest Love, and Greatest Hate."

OOC: I know what you mean =)
That one hit a painful spot for Elfrida...

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore looked at Elfrida as she spoke. The walls she had over her emotions were thin and weak and he could see this. He could see her sorrow and how it seemed that just using this magic brought that sorrow to the surface of her mind, but he saw how teaching it to another brought an even greater sorrow to her. As Fenlore observed the mere surface of Elfrida's pain he began to come to a realization of how much she had lost and how it related to his magic. This magic wasn't so powerful because of her ability of limitless magic. It fed off the love she possessed and the hate that opposed that love. The sheer strength of the reaction of those to opposing emotions caused such a reaction that Fenlore knew then that with this amount of power nothing was impossible for her. This reaction that stemmed from the loss in her heart was what he used to see in himself long ago after he killed Orome. He was unsure if everything was the same but the magnitude of the pain was.
Lowering the walls around his mind, while he bowed his head and closed his eyes, he reached for the memories of the day. The sorrow and fear he possessed while he fought his mentor he loved as a son would love a father. The pain he felt as he attacked his guardian in desperation to save his own life. The hate he felt for himself after the fight was over. These were emotions of his that he could relate to what he saw in the surface of Elfrida's emotions. The emotions of love and hate mixed in his mind, it was as if the pain from that day returned. The wounds that had healed seemed to return.
Sköliro kveykva He said in his mind. The words seemed to fit perfectly with the emotions running through his mind.
Lightning crashed all around Elfrida and Fenlore but it touched no living object. Fenlore looked up at Elfrida and bowed his head again. But this time it was a directed bow of respect for her.

Occ: Well I do hope that this was right in line with what you meant about everything....if not let me know I did have another post available to use.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida was glad Fenlore didn't try to find out anymore about what Elfrida was talking about. She thought it was possible for him to use this spell in a great way because he had mentioned killing his teacher before. Although she knew the type of love, and probably the hate would be a different type, she figured it would be strong enough to allow him to do great things with the magic, and to understand it. Elfrida watched Fenlore as he seemed to bring back his own past pain to use the magic correctly. Elfrida saw how well Fenlore did, she knew how real his pain was from the events of the past. Elfrida saw Fenlore bow his head in respect, but she said nothing, still trying to regain control of her emotions. Finally Elfrida spoke. "You will no longer have any trouble doing this magic wordlessly." she said this quietly, gaining strength in her voice slowly. "Now become completely invisible wordlessly, and I will be ready to teach you the third skill. You can use all three at the same time to your advantage during a battle, and make people think you are a storm." Elfrida's voice, and face had finally regained emotionlessness as she waited for Fenlore to become invisible. "Once this is over I will tell you all you need to, and want to know. Tomorrow you will fight my brother, and then we will go our separate ways. If I ever hear that anyone has defeated you, then I will not be very pleased." Elfrida wished she had longer to train Fenlore, but she couldn't leave the two she guarded for very long, and she already hadn't seen them in awhile. "Learn quickly so I can teach you much." Elfrida said softly.

OOC: I'm gonna be completely gone from tomorrow afternoon to Apr. 3, so I will only be able to respond until about 2:30 PM tomorrow.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore nodded his head not able to find words to speak. He reached for magic and repeated the the process of making himself invisible locking away his mind at the same time. That’s how he wished himself right now, invisible to the world. To anyone who would look upon him but at the moment he wished to be away from Elfrida. His greatest shame was just laid before her in a manner he had never told anyone before. She got to see the whole thing happen. Elfrida saw his failure as a student. It was all he could do to keep everything locked in his mind again.
"That would be a useful skill, to make myself out to be a storm. I could storm the empire with a skill like that." Fenlore talked to distract his mind and even tried to chuckle at his play of words. Then his mind drifted to the battle that would take place tomorrow as he heard Elfrida’s words. He decided not to comment on the parting of them just yet. "What does your brother want that I have to stop him from taking?"

Occ: okay, I hope you have a safe trip where ever you are going

Elfrida noticed that Fenlore felt like a failure, and she almost sighed. "Don't be ashamed of the past, Fenlore." she said. "You did what you had to, just as I have done many times. Burn the past, and be free of it. Else it will hinder your future. Can you live with that?" Elfrida mentally noted to teach Fenlore how to make several compartments in his mind for things he didn't want revealed, and things he did. Elfrida watched as Fenlore began to make himself invisible again. "What you have to stop my brother from taking is the lives of all those who are disloyal to Galbatorix, and some who don't even really care. He is after my power, and if he gains that... I'll let you imagine what could happen." Elfrida said slowly. "Now hurry up, or I won't teach you to become the conquering storm!" Elfrida got ready to use the final magic she would teach Fenlore - tornado like wind, and speed.

OOC: Thanks

Fenlore chuckled at Elfrida's words, she was right about him not being a failure. Something in his mind always told him that but he still couldn't help but think that at times. Smiling he brushed his thoughts away and concentrated on the task at hand. "A conquering storm? I like the sound of that." Standing tall Fenlore reached for magic and outlined his body with the magic of Sköliro kveykva making it look as if there was a man of lightning standing before Elfrida. "Let’s begin."

Elfrida smiled grimly at Fenlore's words. "Then let us begin." Elfrida began using the magic. She knew to Fenlore's eyes she looked like a tornado, because she was moving so quickly with the wind. Grass was torn up as Elfrida moved across it. Finally she stopped, and walked towards Fenlore. "This is called 'Spirit Wind' You can only use it wordlessly, and it's amount of power depends on whether you have a good spirit or a bad spirit. If you have a good spirit it is very easy to learn, and use, and is quite powerful. If you have a bad spirit it is very hard, and becomes an uncontrollable tempest rather than an easy to control tornado." Elfrida said. "You have to look into yourself, and learn how to do it. When you have completed this you will have all the speed you could ever hope for. These three things make a very powerful combination. Now get to work." Elfrida wondered how quick Fenlore would be, and hoped he would succeed quickly.

OOC: I'll be back in about three hours. I have some last minutes errands I have to run with my Mom.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore's eyes were wide in amazement as he watched Elfrida. He had never seen anything like this before. The macanics of magic like that was beyond him. He didn't even know where to start but wordlessly he tried. Think hard, he imagined himself moving like Elfrida and pushed magic into the thought. The consumption wasn't great but he could tell nothing was happening. He tried sprinting but nothing happened. He wasn't sure how or where to begin. He began to think about the strongest wind he had ever felt and put himself into the wind and moving like it. In his mind this is what Elfrida had done. He wasn't sure where his sprit would come into play but he would try this way. He forced magic into the thought and into the world hoping he would move like the wind. The consumption of energy was great and after a few seconds he realized all we was doing was creating gale force winds.
"Elfrida, forgive me but I don't believe I am grasping what you are asking me to do...Am I to move with the wind? Create the wind?" Fenlore asked as he panted slightly.

Occ: Well....I might not be able to reply again tonight...depends on how much homework and cleaning I get done.

Elfrida sighed. "You have it all wrong Fenlore. You can neither move with, nor create the wind." she said, getting ready to demonstrate again. "You are the wind." Elfrida wordlessly used a spell so Fenlore would be able to see her spirit. Elfrida's was like light, with no darkness in it, but beside it was another spirit so dark, and evil, that made pitch black look light. Still yet a small, third spirit was beside hers as well, the color impossible to tell. "Watch closely." Elfrida told Fenlore. Elfrida's spirit began rotating, increasing in speed. Suddenly it was as if her body was being drawn inward, until it was consumed by her spirit. When Elfrida's body, and soul were completely 'consumed' her spirit seemed to expand until it became a storm. Suddenly the dark spirit touched Elfrida's. Elfrida released all magic, and knew Fenlore could see her normally again. Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "You should only have one spirit, so this should be easier for you. You use very little magic for this. Now, try." Elfrida trembled slightly, but not enough to be noticed. She had almost lost control to darkness for a moment... "Become the wind." Elfrida said quietly.

OOC: Ok. Have 'fun'

Fenlore's eyebrows seemed to meet in concentration. He had no clue on where to find his spirit. He imagined his spirit leaving his body forcing magic into the image. Nothing happened. Fenlore sighed and thought on how too renact Elfirda's magic. I could not imagine what his spirit was. However, he marveled as how bright and full of energy the spirit seemed to be. A hint of a smile touched Fenlore's face as he closed his eyes. Reaching for what he thought was his spirit he tried to bring it out. He opened his eyes he saw it. His was not as large or as bright as Elfrida's spirit. "It is amazing." He commented forgetting what he was supposed to be doing for a second. "Do I just will it to spin like that? Or is there a certain thing I must do?" Fenlore asked when he began to realize he was gawking at his own spirit.

Occ: I hope this is sufficent cause I have no clue whats going on with the spirit stuff.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "Enter your spirit." she said as if it were the simplest thing in the world. "The real you is your spirit. Will your spirit to be in control, until your body, and soul are completely absorbed by it. Then you can move like the wind..." Elfrida had accidentally discovered this trick, and knew it was rather hard to grasp at first, but she believed Fenlore was capable of doing it.

OOC: Yeah, it's a little confusing unless you hear the explanation out loud...

Fenlore nodded and moved into his spirit. It felt odd to him, like his body was there but at the same time wasn't. He could see everything around him as if his eyes were no longer limited by a point of view. It was exhilarating the feeling making him not want to return to his body. He could also feel his flow of magic. How enormous it was when he was in this state. It was as if the world was his energy supply now. He began to move. The speed surprised him so as he approached a building that had been a good 500 yards away. He panicked and in his panic he returned to his body only to hit the wall of the building traveling far to fast for his own good. He laid on his back dazed as he stared up into the sky.

Elfrida watched Fenlore with satisfaction. "You almost have it." she said. "Give it one more try." Elfrida offered her hand to Fenlore, but didn't give him any energy. "If you do this then I will answer all your questions, and give you the last knowledge you will need for the future. If you fail then you will know nothing." Elfrida didn't mention that if Fenlore used invisibility while in spirit form he could pass through objects, as she believed he would be able to figure it out for himself. Elfrida looked at Fenlore for a moment before speaking again. "You have five minutes to perfect your storm or I will not tell you anything you want to know." Elfrida wanted to see how Fenlore would respond to the pressure from a time limit.

Fenlore groaned as rolled over and to his feet. "Come now Elfrida do you honestly expect me to grasp off three concepts at once? I am not a highly skilled magician. I just know how to think that doesn't mean..." Fenlore paused as he realized that all three of these magic’s seemed to be designed for those who did not have an extremely large amount of energy to work with. The one that consumed the most was turning invisible and if you did that one correct then no one should be able to detect where you were. Resigning himself to the fact that Elfrida had thought this through far before Fenlore had even considered it. "It shall be done."
Fenlore closed his eyes and activated the first magic Elfrida had taught him. He turned invisible immediately and he adjusted the ward that allowed objects to pass through him until he was satisfied. He then moved to the next magic and summoned the emotions he had before. A tear slipped down his cheek and hit the ground at the same time as the first strike of lightning. The lightning continued as he began to reach for his spirit letting it engulf him from the inside out.
He felt the power drain constant and tiring but he was confident that he could keep it up. He stood, or rather floated in front of Elfrida as even the weather seemed to weep with his spirit as clouds gathered.

Occ: I do hope that my last little bit is okay.

Elfrida smiled grimly. Fenlore had finally gotten it. "You have succeeded." Elfrida said quietly. "Come Fenlore, and I will tell you all you want to know, and what you need to know." Elfrida began walking towards her house, pausing only to look over her shoulder at Fenlore. "Be careful not to let the sorrow to overwhelm you." she said. "It could cause your storm to become bigger than you wish." Elfrida walked quickly, if a bit reluctantly. Time was passing quickly. Almost too quickly. Elfrida opened the door, and went into the dusty great room, mentally preparing herself to tell Fenlore whatever he wanted to know, and to pass on the information he would need.

"Now is not the time, but very soon you will awaken to your bond." Elfrida said quietly, referring to Fenlore, but not really noticing whether he was there yet or not. "And I must prepare you for that now."

Fenlore released all of the magic’s and dutifully followed Elfrida. He was caught up in how his storm had effected the weather around when he almost missed what Elfrida said about him and a bond. What she said only served to expand the many questions he had.
Fenlore said nothing as he fallowed Elfrida into the house. It was not his house be he had no desire to talk with no substance to fill both their stomachs. He moved to the kitchen and prepared tea and biscuits, that were sweet, quickly using magic. It was a simple task and was done quickly. Fenlore found a table and sat in one of the chairs.
"Come Elfrida I have much I desire to know." He said before he took a bite of his biscuit quiet satisfied with the result. "I would first like to know why you are bothering to train me. It is not as if you owe me anything. It the other way around if you ask me. So why?" Fenlore gazed at Elfrida with eyes full of wonder.

Elfrida turned her chair around backwards, and sat across from Fenlore, leaning her arms on the chair back. She didn't bother to get any tea or biscuits, knowing she would be too busy answering questions to eat. Elfrida looked at Fenlore, her face completely serious as she answered him. "Fate is a strange thing." she said, thinking about all that had happened. "Who knows how I ended up traveling in the Hadarac... All I know is that Fate somehow guided me to the great desert. As I'm sure you know, werecats have the ability to see a little into the future. As a half werecat, I share in that ability. Whatever I see happens. I saw myself teaching you. It was as if someone great was asking me to teach you everything you need to know. Fate is the only reason I am teaching you is all I can say." Elfrida paused. "Did that answer your question she asked, waiting for the others Fenlore was sure to have. Elfrida then decided to add as a side note. "Though it has not been very long, I have enjoyed teaching you. I have not been able to enjoy anything in a long time. You owe me nothing, Fenlore."

Fenlore nodded slowly. What Elfrida said made sense and he was glad that her fate being intertwined with his actually brought her some enjoyment. Though he did not agree with what she said about him not owing her nothing. He didn't understand why he needed to know what he was being taught.
"Do you know why you were guided to me though? What am I supposed to do that someone like yourself couldn't already do?" Fenlore truly didn't understand why he was in this position. He was not one with influence nor strength. With a sigh Fenlore leaned back and stared up at the roof.

Occ: sorry short :/ I should say that this should be wrapping up soon shouldn't it?

Elfrida looked Fenlore in the eyes. "Time will answer your remaining questions. I do not feel at liberty to reveal why I was guided to you. Someday you will understand." Elfrida said, completely serious. "Fenlore, all you have to be is yourself. No one else can be you. I can't be you, nor can anyone else. All you need to do is be you." Elfrida stood, and walked to the other side of the table. "One day you will feel more complete, and for that reason I will pass on the knowledge of the world which I have acquired to you. I ope that someday soon you will find it useful." Elfrida said, putting her left hand on Fenlore, and beginning to give him the knowledge she had collected for many years. She began with the known history of the world, giving Fenlore every detail about the riders especially. When Elfrida finished she dropped her hand, and stepped away. "I have just given you enough knowledge for you to rule the Empire with. It's up to you to decide how you use it." Elfrida said, reaching out with her mind to tell her animal companions, and Ameris that they should probably go to sleep soon.

OOC: Yeah probably. I've enjoyed this RP, and it will be sorta sad to finish it, on the other hand, it will be the first completed RP on SF that I'm in, so I'm excited.

Fenlore grabbed his head with both hands. Images and thoughts that were foreign to his own passed through his mind. It felt as if he had drank a barrel of mead on his own. He rose from his chair and bowed his head slightly. "Thank you Elfrida. You have given me a great gift. Now I need time to think on what I will do next." Fenlore excused himself leaving the house and heading for the barn where Bree was. He laid down next to his horse and closed his eyes. It was almost to much information running through his mind.

Occ: It will be my first completed RP also :) Well I need to bring Fenlore and Alvina together.

Elfrida watched Fenlore leave. She knew it would take him awhile to grasp all that she had given him, especially the emotions attached... In order to give Fenlore all the information he would need, Elfrida had had to give him some of her memories - the memories of hatred towards Wulfe, and of the crimes Wulfe did. Perhaps they would be a help when Fenlore fought Wulfe the next day.
Elfrida walked towards her room, and through herself on the bed, not out of exhaustion really, but to allow her to gather her thoughts.
Ameris landed on the bed, and to Elfrida's relief, the hatchling fell asleep quickly. Elfrida looked sadly at the hatchling. She knew Ameris would go through a lot having a rider like Elfrida. Elfrida didn't want to harm the little dragoness too much with all the pain that would come, so she began working on a way to make it impossible for the pair to share feelings like that.

Black Night decided to sleep outside as it was a nice night, and Death joined her. Our time with Elfrida is coming to an end. the mare said quietly. Death Haunt agreed grimly. Our departure had to happen some time, but I never wanted to admit that it was coming. The pair watched the stars together, not knowing what night would be there last together as friends.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore drifted off into a slight slumber. His mind aware of all around him but still he was tormented by dreams of Elfrida's memories. He tossed and turned unable push away the dreams that came to him. The anger for Elfrida's brother that was placed in his mind burned hot. He haddn't felt anything like it before and it was ripping through his mind and he was helpless before it.
A sword crashed into his own as he blocked the fast attack. His mind was centered on hate and anger for Wulfe as Wulfe and him danced in the fields before the Urgle city. A smile hung on Wulfe's face that seemed infuriate Fenlore further. Fenlore lost grip of his sword and began to mindlessly attack with his fists. He saw the blow coming for his neck but he cared not as he held Wulfe off the ground choking the life from his body. Fenlore could see his reflection in the eyes of Wulfe, he looked mindless. Consumed by hate and that frightened him more than anything. Then the blade struck his neck and his arms went limp.
He woke with a startle as a dream of him fighting Wulfe woke him. He shivered all over and rose to his feet. His mind had calmed but barely. He was having trouble separating his own thoughts from those that Elfrida had put in him. He felt a new kind of admiration for Elfrida. He couldn't help but feel it but at the same time was confussed by it because the emotions that had obviously been Elfrida's earlier seemed to be molded to his own.
A sliver of light was coming over the horizon. Fenlore looked at Bree and smiled sadly. "Friend shall we go meet our fate?"

Occ: Do i see an epic battle about to take place????

Elfrida had not really slept during the night, but in the morning she was completely rested. During that night she had thought hard about making it impossible for Ameris to fell Elfrida's pain, while Elfrida retained the ability to feel Ameris'. Just as the light was coming into the sky Elfrida used a mixture of Dark, and Light magic to change the rider/dragon bond. Now it would be impossible for Ameris to feel the pain, and Darkness that Elfrida would experience in the future. Elfrida woke the dragon hatchling, not saying anything about what she had done. "Come." she said. "After you eat it will be time to fight your first battle." The hatchling wasn't awake enough yet to complain, and simply curled up on Elfrida's shoulder. Elfrida got some meat for Ameris, ate a little food for herself, and went outside, and mounted Blacknight. Death Haunt came up beside them. "This is it." Elfrida said. "After today we will no longer be together..." Blacknight, and Death stiffened, but said nothing. After so many years it was hard to believe they were about to go their separate ways.

Blacknight walked slowly towards the gates of the Urgal city. The battle was about to start. Everywhere armed Urgals were marching towards the gate. Little hope remained for them that the city would be able to withstand the attack as Wulfe's army had grown dramatically overnight. Blacknight stood still when she reached the gate. Let's do this! Death said with enthusiasm. The three friends who had been together for a long time had come to accept this fate without questioning, and didn't know exactly how to respond.

OOC: Probably =D

Fenlore shivered as he looked out to the edge of the city. It seemed rather hopeless to him. But he knew that he would just have to trust Elfrida. He moved back into the barn with a shiver as an on slot of Elfrida's emotions serfaced. The knowledge he gain he knew would be more than useful but he couldn't sort through it all until he could get a grasp on Elfrida's emotions.
He tore through Bree's saddle bags unearthing his armor and began to put it all on. It took him a short amount of time but the end result was good. He saddle Bree and took off towards the gate.
When he reined in beside Blacknight he greeted them all. "Good morning everyone." He looked out at the approaching army his light tone dropped slightly. "It is going to be a rough fight today." With a deep sigh he look at Elfrida and asked, "Where do you want me? I will fight where you tell me to Elfrida. So tell me where."

Elfrida nodded once in response to Fenlore, but didn't speak for a couple of moments. Elfrida looked at Fenlore, a strange light in her eyes. "You will go directly after Wulfe." Elfrida said. She didn't want to give up her prey, but she knew that fate had chosen Fenlore to be the one to fight Wulfe today. "If anyone tries to stop you then kill them. Don't stop to ask who's side they're on." Elfrida said grimly, knowing there would probably be some Urgals who would try to stop Fenlore because they were on the same side.

The gates to the city slowly opened, revealing the vast army on the outside. The Urgals knew the only way they could possibly win was by charging out into the desert to fight, rather than in the city. The Urgals rushed forward towards the enemy. The battle had begun.

Blacknight stepped forward, slowly at first, but slowly getting quicker. Death rushed beside her giving energy to Fenlore, and Elfrida. Elfrida touched the dragon hatchling on her shoulder. "Don't hurt yourself." Elfrida told Ameris.
Of course I won't! The hatchling snapped at her rider. You'd better not let anyone harm you at all!

Elfrida began using magic, but since she didn't know how many shades or spellcasters were present, she held back a good bit.

Fenlore saluted Elfrida and charged out with the Urgles. He knew that it was going to be a rough fight and probably one he wouldn't make it out of. Fenlore felt Elfrida begin to use magic and to him if felt as if she was holding back. It didn't make much sense to him for her to do so but he didn't have time to question.
Fenlore had made it to the front of the line of charging Urgles. A row of pike men waited with pikes braced in the ground to stop the charging army of Urgles. Fenlore took a deep breath and reached for magic. He knew the solders would be protected by wards but the pikes wouldn't be. With a small smile he barked "Jierda!" His hand holding his sword glowed silver and the shafts on the hundreds of pikes broke just before he and the Urgles crashed into the now helpless front line of Wulfe's army. If it had not been for the sheer numbers of the enemy Fenlore thought that they could have over ran the whole army there. But it was not so. The enemy army stiffened and gave away no more. When this happened Fenlore leapt from Bree striking down two unfortunate Urgles who tried to oppose him. Bree go back now. I may need your strength to flee so stay close a hand. Bree almost didn't obey but it wouldn't have mattered if he had Fenlore was already dodging back and forth heading deeper into the enemy's army.

Blacknight, Death, locate the enemy spellcasters! Elfrida told her two friends so she would know where to direct her attacks. The two began doing so, and soon found over thirty normal spellcasters, all of them protected by fifteen shades. How did he get that many? Elfrida wondered in disbelief, attacking a shade's mind in order to destroy the spellcasters, and soldiers under it.

Wulfe stood at the back of the army with two eldunari in a pouch. He felt ready for anything Elfrida would attack him with, knowing she was always weakened by her wound when she attacked him. Suddenly one/fifteenth of his army died. Wulfe laughed. Elfrida may have destroyed one shade, but there were fourteen left, and now they would have an easier time tracking her down.

Ameris watched in horror as Urgal after Urgal fell dead. Some of them she had become friends with the previous evening. The hatchling roared in anger. This was not how it was supposed to be! Good was supposed to defeat evil, not the other way around! Already most of the defending Urgals had fallen, they were so far outnumbered that there was little hope. This is as far as you go! Ameris shouted with her mind. Suddenly a group of soldiers fell dead in front of her and Elfrida, a sunburst in front of them. Ameris felt an energy drain, but hadn't realized that she was the one who had used the magic until Death poured energy into her, and said. Don't use to much magic, you might hurt yourself! Ameris was surprised, but she remembered how she had done it, and began attacking the enemy soldiers with Light magic.

Fenlore was disheartened at how little progress he was making. He split the head of one solder only to have someone with incredible speed and strength attack him. He was almost overpower immediately but maintained his coordination as he block a second and third blow from the enemy. As the fourth blow struck his guard he rolled back to put some space between him and his enemy. He jumped to his feet only to have to strike down two enemy Urgles before he could see the black eyes of his attacker. He was fighting a shade. His eyes narrowed and he reached for magic making himself invisible immediately. He didn't bother with all the magic wanting to conserve all of this strength he could. Weaving around confused solders who had just been watching the fight Fenlore made his way around and closer to the shade. The shade looked for Fenlore but could not see him anywhere and with all the solders around it would make it difficult for him to sense where Fenlore was with his mind.
Fenlore took complete advantage of this and struck for the shade's heart with this sword. As it bit into the shade's flesh Fenlore knew he made a mistake. A sharp pain struck his side at the shade twisted his sword to stab behind himself. It struck Fenlore's chest and luckily the armor held but the sheer force was enough to break several ribs. Coughing Fenlore continued through with the blow and staggered back words cursing himself for not using the ward also.
Downed a shade. Not sure how many solder were under his influence. I’m moving on. Fenlore said to Elfrida as he also completed the magic making it so objects would go through him also. He felt tired and worn out but he knew that he could continue and he did moving forward deeper into enemy territory.

Elfrida quickly took out the remaining soldiers which had been under the shade destroyed by Fenlore. Using her mind she had soon found several of the others, and with the help of Ameris' magic, and Death providing energy, defeated all but five of the shades, and the ones they protected. Finding the remaining shades was hard, and it took awhile for three of the remaining five to be discovered, and defeated. With only two shades left Wulfe's army was still enormous. Each magician was over 2000, and each shade had 500 under their direct control, rather than through their two magicians. In all there were still around 9,000 enemies left, and there were only a little over 1000 Urgals left from the city, and they were quickly falling.
Elfrida dismounted and sent Ameris, Blacknight, and Death to help fight on the front lines while she continued to search for the shades. Darkness called out to her, and Elfrida knew with it she could easily defeat Wulfe, but that was something she didn't want to risk... Then the other voice spoke, sounding more sane than it ever had before.
I can do it. The voice said. Elfrida wasn't sure she wanted to allow the insane one in her mind to be in control, but she knew she didn't have much time to think. Then do it. Elfrida said, giving over control to the one she despised more than Darkness.

Wulfe laughed when all but two of the shades fell. He laughed because he knew how impossible it would be for Elfrida to discover the presence of the two remaining shades, and there were very few opponents left. "All who oppose me will fall." Wulfe said, a look of victory coming to his face.

OOC: I can't wait to see them! I need to work on being a little less inspired... I'm working on five, and there are two others I'm resisting the urge to do.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore advanced quicker this way moving around soldiers trying to get all the way back to Wulfe. As he got closer he could feel anger and hatred building up inside of him. He moved quicker and more carelessly starting a few brawls with in Wulfe's own army.
Fenlore stumbled out of the latest fray more winded than before. His ribs burned and he was growing tired. He reinforced his strength with a small amount he had left in his sword, and turned to search for Wulfe. He spotted him and couldn't move. He knew he couldn't be seen but there Wulfe stood not thirty feet away from him. The atrocities that Wulfe had committed came to the front of Fenlore's mind. It overwhelmed everything. Sadness, anger, hatred, sense of loss, grief, love filled his mind. Emotions that were not even his to begin with overwhelmed him now and mixed with his own. He hated the man before him and wanted to do nothing more than destroy him.
The emotions collided inside his mind and Fenlore grasped at them and magic. Small sparks traveled across the ground around him. It was as if the world knew of the onslaught that was going to come. "Die." Fenlore whispered. As he did so the ground shook as Sköliro kveykva devoured the whole area within sixty feet of Wulfe. Fenlore's eyes strained up slightly at the brightness of the light as his view of Wulfe was cut off by the briliance of the attack.

Occ:I love the way lightning storms look. I’m just picturing this happening in my head and am in awe. Ya know Fenlore wouldn’t be going crazy if it wasn’t for Elfrida haha
My inspiration is the fact that compared to everyone else I have so few characters xP

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Wulfe was filled with shock as an attack seemed to hit him from nowhere. The only reason he was still alive was because he had taken precautions to put up barriers. It's impossible for anyone to be that strong, even with Eldunari! he thought as he coughed up some blood. Wulfe noticed as well that he was suffering from temporary blindness from the light. Wulfe quickly began drawing on the strength of the Eldunari, and drew his sword. "Who are you to dare to touch me?" Wulfe demanded in anger. Wulfe's face was covered in multiple burns, as well as the rest of his body. He knew he had almost died in that attack, and doubted he could easily survive another of the same magnitude. Wulfe began using the eldunari to heal himself, and to replenish his energy. Things were beginning to look bad for him.

Death felt a chill, but didn't know why. Suddenly he felt himself, and all the other bodiless spirits being drawn together toward... Elfrida? No, that wasn't Elfrida. This person was 4 inches shorter, and looked... dead. Even the shades were being drawn towards this one. Who are you, and what are you doing in Elfrida's body? Death snarled. The only response was a mad laughter. Death watched in awe, and fear, as the shades were torn from the bodies they had possessed. Death shivered as he asked, What in the world are you?

The 'Other Voice' laughed. "I am a ruler of spirits!" It said with laughter. "I send spirits like yours, and others to the death realm. Prepare to depart."

Ameris squinted her eyes as a very bright light came from the rear of the army. She knew it must mean Fenlore was winning.

Blacknight used her mind to attack the four normal magicians, and soon defeated them, leaving all the soldiers completely unprotected. Now Ameris! Take them out! she said to the dragon, not wondering why Elfrida didn't destroy the soldiers at the same time as the shades.

Elfrida knew she could only regain control of her body after all spirits had passed on, so she used her mind to 'see' what was happening in the battle.

OOC: I love lightning storms! therefore have a mental image of how it appears. At least when I'm not in them... I saw a really good one in Tx back in October of last year, therefore I have a mental image of how the attack appears. It really is an awesome thing.
Have fun making them =)

Fenlore chuckled with malice for the man standing before him. "You are weak compared to your sister Wulfe." He spoke then sprinting to the side knowing that Wulfe couldn't see him or his foot prints. "YOU SHALL KNOW PAIN!" He shouted stabbing his sword into the ground then letting go of it. He directed Sköliro kveykva to sprout from the sword as he ran around behind Wulfe attacking him with the same attack. It wasn't as intense as the first attack but it was more accurate and meant to hit only Wulfe.
"The suffering you have made others endure you shall now endure yourself."
Lightning flew at Wulfe from both sides in an act of brilliance and anger.

Occ: I have one character done. Now I just need to finish the next. They go hand in hand so I'll post them at the same time. Sorry its short :/ I'll do better next time

Wulfe suddenly felt immense fear. His sight had returned, but now lightning came from two different directions, and he didn't have enough time to dodge. Wulfe coughed, and looked up. "That scared me." he said, laughing evilly. Wulfe's clothes were torn, but he appeared to be completely unharmed. "Nothing can defeat my sword." Wulfe said, holding it up. Somehow the sword had protected Wulfe, and absorbed most of the damage, turning it into energy. Wulfe felt the remainder of his army being defeated, but he didn't care now. He was too busy fighting to be worried about it.

Blacknight smiled in victory as the remaining soldiers were taken out. She turned around to look at the Urgals, and her eyes widened in surprise. Fewer than 200 had survived, and most of those were wounded. Blacknight suddenly realized Death wasn't around. She looked around quickly, and finally noticed him near... Not Elfrida, but the one who had tormented her long ago in mind. Blacknight approached. What is going on? she demanded. Death voice sounded like a sad smile when he responded. My time's up. he said. It is time for me to leave this world forever. Blacknight stood frozen in shock. That can't be true! she said, It can't be true!
Elfrida knew this would be her last chance to be around Death, but it hadn't quite registered yet. Death Haunt. I'm so glad I found you those years ago... Elfrida said, knowing she had little time to say her goodbyes, so she sped it up a little. You've been with me through so many hardships, and I will miss you very much. I cannot even begin to imagine you being gone... Thank you for everything Death. Goodbye, my dear friend. Blacknight knew that Death really was about to be gone when Elfrida spoke. Death Haunt... Blacknight began, not knowing what to say. After a moment's pause Blacknight resumed. Just wait for me, okay? Wait for my arrival before exploring the death realm. Death seemed to smile at his friend. I promise. He told the mare solemnly. Goodbye Elfrida, goodbye Blacknight. Don't be too quick in following me. Elfrida, and Blacknight could find no words, knowing this was really the end. Goodbye, Death Haunt. Blacknight finally managed to get out. Death seemed to smile again as he slowly faded from the physical realm to that of death.

Ameris was surprised at how quickly she took out 9000, and fell to the ground from exhaustion. It had been a long day, and noon was still about an hour away.

OOC: Longer post... I may be posting one or two of mine tonight... Maybe.

Fenlore laughed releasing the invisibility magic but kept the ward and staring at Wulfe from behind. "You truly believe that you are such a master that you can defeat everyone! You are blinded by arrogance and power!" Fenlore roared with anger, somewhere in his mind he knew that he was being consumed by something other than himself but it wasn't possible for that part of him to come forth yet.
He reached for his spirit then and brought it out. Fenlore's spirit was different than the day before. I burned brighter but at the same time looked tainted. "One who you have made suffer taught me much. Her teachings shall kill you." He activated the invisible magic and entered his spirit.
Moving as Elfrida taught him he retrieve his sword from where he stuck it in the ground bringing it into his spirit with him. The drain on his energy was wearing him down. He knew he would have to finish this soon. Also with the injuries he attained earlier he would not last long at all if magic failed him.
Sköliro kveykva consumed the area again as he reached for magic in the spirit form. It work the same but seemed far more intense. Fenlore then moved looking as a tornado directly up to Wulfe. He struck out with his sword leaving his spirit for a split second for the strike which had the white lightning running along the blade.

Occ: better??? lol I just had a brain issue earlier. I'm all sad now cause I liked Death....

Wulfe gasped out in pain as he was hit. Wulfe fell to his knees, eyes staring, but not really seeing anything. "Impossible. . ." he gasped out. Wulfe was considered a great fighter, but whatever had happened was far above him. Wulfe felt his conscience slipping away. With the last of his strength, he used the eldunari to teleport away, not quite ready to die yet. Wulfe would keep a scar from the sword wound to remember Fenlore by. A scar on his face to match the one he had given Elfrida years before.

Elfrida regained control of her body. A single tear escaped, but no more. Death being gone forever still hadn't sunk in for her yet. Elfrida looked at the Urgals, and healed those who needed it from where she was at. She knew she could never return to the Urgal city, or she would destroy it completely. Elfrida walked towards Fenlore slowly, Blacknight right behind her, and Ameris close behind Blacknight.

OOC: Now mine's short =) Yeah... Death was a great character, killing him off was a little hard for me.

Fenlore cursed Wulfe as he escaped. There was nothing he could do to stop him. Realization hit him hard that he had failed. He turned and surveyed the battle field, so many died and he couldn't even do what he needed to do. He released the magic and began to walk towards were he saw Elfrida. He saw Blacknight also but he could not see Death. Pain grasped at his heart. Elfrida's fondness of Death had worn off on him. His anger and regret for not being able to kill Wulfe was replaced with anguish. He was sure that if he had been stronger he could have stopped the death from taking Death. A tear slipped down his cheek but he wiped it away.
Caring his sword at his side he approached Elfrida. He stood there staring at her not sure what to do or say. He knew that he let her down. That all her effort was wasted. That her close companion had died for nothing because he failed. Dropping his sword he fell to his knees full of pain, anguish, regret and sadness.
"Forgive me Elfrida..." His head dropped and he stared at her feet. "I failed you as your student."

Elfrida stood in front of Fenlore silently in thought for a moment, then hesitantly put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You did much better than I expected." she said quietly, no hardness, or coldness left in her voice. "Only one other has nearly defeated Wulfe, and he didn't do nearly as well. Nothing was your fault. It was all mine. This all happened because I believed I could not change the things I had foreseen, so I didn't even try." Elfrida felt how much emotional pain Fenlore was in, and took some of the burden from him, almost gasping from how much pain there was. It would take awhile to get used to this 'gift'. "You are not the failure, Fenlore." Elfrida said, allowing a single tear to escape - something that hadn't happened in a very long time. "I am." Elfrida knew she could have prevented Death's dying, but she had been the one to send him to the death realm - or rather 'the voice' inside of her, but she had let 'the voice' have control. Elfrida turned around, and walked a little ways away, not wanting her tears to be shown, few though they were.

Fenlore relieved but sadened as he heard what Elfrida said. He knew he could have done better, he could have fought smarter. He felt Elfrida begin to take away the pain from all of the emotions with in him. Quickly before Elfrida could take most of it he shut his mind down so she could not. Fenlore was almost outraged when Elfrida called herself a failure, he was so outraged that he was able to push aside most of his emotions that had cause him so much hurt. Standing quickly Fenlore chased after Elfrida grabbing her by the shoulders and turning her around. "You call yourself a failure? I do not see how you could be." He turned slightly to survey the battle field. Many had died but the survivors were moving about tending to those who might still be saved. "I say your action saved those who would have not survived without your assistance." He brought his full attention to Elfrida again and he wiped away a tear from her face. "No you are far from a failure. Death would agree right now if he was here." Fenlore realizing that what he was doing dropped his hand to his side. "I would not have survived this battle without you." He said simply.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "I caused him to die." Elfrida said, speaking of Death. "How can I not be a failure when I was the one to open a way to the death realm for him?" Elfrida heard the 'voice' in her head cackling. Of course it's your fault! It's always your fault. For once Elfrida didn't tell it to go away, knowing that would accomplish nothing. "If I hadn't been here then you wouldn't have needed to survive a a battle. Wulfe wouldn't have come if I hadn't been here." Elfrida said. Elfrida felt the Darkness in her mind grow a little stronger Shall we destroy the one who caused you to fail? Darkness asked, but Elfrida knew if she agreed then Darkness would have a greater hold over her. One of Elrida's eyes turned blood red, a cold hard look filling it, while the other still held a look of regret. "Not many died." Elfrida said, knowing over 10,000 had. "Not anything compared to many I will kill if I am not able to change my future. That is why I am a failure. I can't change myself."

Fenlore's eyes narrowed at Elfrida. "You can't be held responsible for your crazed brothers actions. And if someone tries to I will personally take care of it. If Wulfe hadn't attack NONE of this would have happened. It was not your fault!" He was almost yelling as he spoke. He folded his arms and sighed. Elfrida's emotions were resurfacing in his mind but he felt as if he could better control it now. He sank his mind into the unruly emotions with the hope that submitting himself but at the same time maintaining himself would keep him sane. It was difficult but possible. He felt Bree touch his mind and strengthen Fenlore's state of mind seperating it further from Elfrida's emotions.
"You are not at fault. And no one will blames you." Fenlore picked up his sword sheathing it. "The future is not written till it become the past. You yourself said I was supposed to kill Wulfe here today. That it was my fate. Well I failed fate so it seems." He began to move away and start checking the dead body’s for survivors. "You aren't alone in this either Elfrida. You are never alone." He called as he moved away. He did this more so he could sort through the memories and emotions more than anything.

Elfrida knew Fenlore was right, and could say nothing in reply. 'Not alone?' Elfrida had felt alone since before she could remember. Yes, she had had Blacknight, and Death Haunt, but she always knew that they would be gone someday, and therefore was not able to feel anything but loneliness. Elfrida walked a lonely road down the path of Darkness, and Light. Two opposing forces, both threatening to destroy her. Even with Wil, and Danagon walking down the road to Darkness with her, Elfrida still felt alone. The concept of not being alone was almost to great for Elfrida to grasp.
Elfrida began using magic to send dead Urgal bodies to the city, and bury them in proper spots, leaving an inscription for each one of them. Blacknight looked in Elfrida's direction. He was right, you know. the mare told her rider. Burn the future, and be free of it. Don't let what might be get in the way of what will be. Nothing is set in stone. Elfrida glanced at the mare. "In other words I burn the bridges in front of me until there is only one I can go on?" Elfrida asked the mare. Blacknight nodded. Elfrida shook her head slowly. "There has only ever been one bridge for me. All of my hopes, and dreams disappeared with him. The only path I have left is Darkness." Blacknight was about to argue with her rider, but decided against it when Elfrida turned her back. The mare trotted off to find Ameris, knowing Elfrida wanted to be alone.

Fenlore wandered about the bodys for a while till Elfrida used magic to move them and barry them. He hardly notice the act though. He had continued to shift his mind through the memories and emotions of Elfrida. They were over powering and sofocating. He felt as if her thoughts were try to push him aside. Try as he will nothing seemed to be able to push the thoughts into submission. They seemed to feed off the sorrow in his own heart growing in strength.
Darkness was overtaking his mind. He gasped as if he had been being deprived of air. He fought to control his own body now. Taking every little bit of it he could of his mind and pushing darkness from it. He was only partly sucessful. Darkness was stopped for the moment but he could feel it waiting for the moment to take control.
Fenlore stumbled as he moved falling fifty feet in front of Elfrida's path. Darkness redoubled its effort as he spotted Elfrida. He looked up at Elfrida his eyes strained. "You endure much Elfrida." He wispered his voice quivering as he struggled to retain his mind.

Occ: I plan on sending him off after Wulfe to end this so. How should we end it?

Elfrida walked quickly towards Fenlore - she didn't realize she had shared some of her darkness with him. The Darkness was like that. It spread itself. It must have found a stronghold of sorrow to grab onto. Elfrida's Darkness grew as she approached Fenlore. She grimaced realizing from how strong her's grew that Fenlore would have a hard battle to completely control his. Elfrida stopped directly in front of Fenlore, holding his eyes with hers, searching for his Darkness. She quickly found it, and used her Darkness to bind it enough for Fenlore to gain complete control until he became strong enough to handle all of it. Elfrida looked away from Fenlore. "I am sorry I put this burden on you, Fenlore." She said softly. Elfrida knew that if her Darkness was now strong enough to affect others then she was already starting to become one with it. She knew there was no escape from it for her now. "The Darkness is a terrible thing." Elfrida told Fenlore, as she looked off into the distance. "It will try to control you, and if you let it then your life may be ruined. You will always have to fight it. I'm sorry that I shared my Darkness with you." Elfrida suddenly fell to her knees, holding her head as a vision swept over her.

OOC: ... Elfrida will have a vision of Fenlore of hunting down, and killing Wulfe... Does that work?

Fenlore felt Elfrida help and was grateful but at the same time he felt the darkness that was in Elfrida. He marveled at how Elfrida was able to control such a vast darkness within her. When Elfrida finished suppressing the darkness in him he expanded reaching through his mind and felt a slight push into his mind from the darkness though it was weak and he suppressed it quickly. Confident he could now handle this darkness he stood and gazed up to Elfrida's eyes to thank her only for her to fall to her knee's holding her head.
Fenlore squatted down next to her and placed both hands on her shoulders. "Elfrida..." he whispered softly. "What is wrong? What can I do?" He reached for her mind and cringed away at the feeling inside of it. He felt the battle waging in her head. He retreated to his mind with a shiver. But a picture of Wulfe seemed to stick in his head now. He wasn't sure if the darkness in his mind was feeding the picture to him but he felt driven now. He felt that Wulfe was the reason why Elfrida was how she was.

Occ: I forgot how tall Elfrida was....I had to go look it up xP
well I was thinking that actually Wulfe could capture Fenlore..I have an epic idea^^..but I would do that in another topic.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida's scar on her face opened slightly, causing a little blood to drip down her face. Visions of Wulfe filled her mind and Elfrida's body began involuntarily trembling with a mixture of weakness, hate, and even fear. Finally after a few long minutes the vision left, leaving Elfrida very badly shaken.
Elfrida hadn't really heard what Fenlore was saying while he spoke, but now that the vision was gone she knew what he had asked. Elfrida drew in a ragged breath, and looked at Fenlore. For a moment she couldn't speak, her scar burned so much. Wulfe was the cause of everything that had happened to Elfrida. Although good had happened, her life seemed to have much more bad than good. It was because of him that she had no family, because of him she had had to face the rejection of all but a handful. Because of him, Elfrida had allowed Darkness control too many times. This hate gave Elfrida enough strength to speak.
"Wulfe must be destroyed." she said. At first her voice was weak, but as Elfrida spoke it got stronger. "I had a vision. You must be the one to destroy Wulfe. No one else can, not even me." Elfrida let out a still shaky breath, and her voice became soft, even a little weak. "Please, Fenlore. you must hunt him down, and kill him." Elfrida ended in a near whisper. The vision had taken a lot of energy out of her.
Elfrida thought about standing, but she didn't really want to, not to mention she probably couldn't since Fenlore had his hands on her shoulders, and he was physically stronger than her. Elfrida knew that the time was close when they would part, but she didn't want to think about it. A lot had changed in the short amount of time she had known Fenlore, and she was almost afraid that when they parted he would disappear like Skol had done. Elfrida made herself smile at Fenlore - it was a smile of gratitude. "Thank you for allowing me to teach you, Fenlore." she said quietly. She didn't want the time for parting to come, the very thought of it was painful. You gave me hope. she thought, but didn't say out loud.

OOC: Okay, I'm not gonna decide everything Elfrida saw in the vision, just that Fenlore needs to go after Wulfe.

Fenlore smiled weakly at Elfrida knowing that he would be leaving soon. He had grown fond of her over the short time. She taught him much but also showed him a path that he should take. He wiped the blood from Elfrida's face and used magic to reseal the scare to the best of his ability.
"I will go after Wulfe. I can not help it in this case for now a picture of his face burns bright in my head. He will pay for what he has done. I will avenge them all." Elfrida's memories seemed to blend in with his own now as if they had happened to him personally though he knew they hadn't. "I will make sure everything turns out okay. I have been given the strength to continue and make a difference because of you. I will use it to stop his corruption of this world."
Fenlore moved quickly and swept Elfrida up into his arm. She didn't weigh much to him but he knew that she had little strength left to make the long walk back to the house where she lived. He said nothing knowing their parting would be coming up soon.

Elfrida breathed out, almost in relief. "Thank you." she said quietly. She knew that Fenlore was the only one who could defeat Wulfe completely. Elfrida blinked in surprise when Fenlore picked her up. She knew she was far too weak to walk a few feet, much less the distance to her house, but she had still been caught off guard. Elfrida looked up at Fenlore, but could say nothing. She knew that Fenlore would be leaving in a very short amount of time. Time had gone by too quickly for Elfrida, and it was quickly slipping away.

Blacknight trotted towards Elfrida's house with Ameris, so they could arrive before Fenlore, and Elfrida. Blacknight knew how Elfrida felt, and knew Ameris didn't so she decided to give the hatchling a job to do in the city.

Fenlore looked down at Elfrida as he continued to walk. He had been through so much in such a short amount of time with her that he felt a sort of bond had formed betweent them though he wasn't sure what it was. A small smile touched his lips as he thought back to when he first met her, "We would have been at eachothers throats when we first met if it hadn't been for the interfearance of the nomads. I'm pretty sure we hated eachother at first." He laughed at the thought. "But ya know I don't think I could hate you now..." He finished with a slight sigh and looked away from Elfrida. He wasn't sure he wanted leave but he knew he must.

Occ: Im sorry its short :/

Elfrida smiled back at Fenlore. Though she hadn't done it much recently it felt so natural. She had to laugh when Fenlore mentioned their meeting. "You know, at the time I hated those nomads. I wanted to kill you just because I felt like it. But now I'm so glad they showed up." she said sincerely. "Even last night I was holding onto a little of my hate, forcing myself to keep it. I have no hate for you at all anymore. I think it has become impossible for me to hate you, no matter what may happen in the future." Elfrida didn't understand what had happened to change her, but she was glad she had changed. Elfrida suddenly became aware of how weak she was, and that at the moment she was only getting worse. Elfrida leaned her head against Fenlore. "We will meet again." Elfrida said quietly, but with confidence. Then she added in her thoughts Keep safe until then.

OOC: Mine is short too...

Occ: Do i possibly see sparks in the future?? lol

IC: Hearing Elfrida's words brought warmth to him as he continued to carry her. He was begining to realize that he didn't want leave her side right now when he was just begining to realize how great she was. Though he knew no matter what he wanted he was needed to be else where. It saddened him but her last words stuck in his head. They were so clear and full of strength and confidence that he felt he could endure the trials to come. "I will reture to your side Elfrida." He said in the ancient language, You stay safe also. He added with his own mind.
Fenlore approched the house and saw Bree awating his arival. The horse had alread guessed what was going on and was not pleased by it. Fenlore smiled saddly at his horse and continue on into the house.

OOC: Possibly =D lol I guess we won't know until later RP's will we? =)

Elfrida almost sighed when they reached the house. She knew only minutes remained before Fenlore would have to leave. This was the first time she hadn't wanted someone to leave. Elfrida did sigh quietly when they entered the house. She began thinking quickly. So far she had taught Fenlore a few things, and given him darkness, and the pain of her memories. She wanted to give him something that would be painful, and was not dark. Suddenly Elfrida smiled. She knew what she vould give to help Fenlore with his journey. Elfrida reached out her mind to Blacknight, and told her that she need a shard of Ameris' egg.
It was hard to do over that distance, but Blacknight heard her, and quickly came running with a shard - which Ameris shaped in a tiny sphere, leaving a small hole for a string if needed. The shard held a huge store of energy Ameris had placed in it, to renew Fenlore's in the time of battle. Ameris tied it with a small leather piece to Fenlore's saddle, as Blacknight refused to go into the house.
Elfrida looked at Fenlore, and smiled sadly. "I suppose it is time to say 'goodbye', isn't it." She didn't want to say those words, but she knew they were inevitable.

Fenlore smiled back at Elfrida. He would miss her. "It is far well from here." Fenlore said as he walked her into her room and laid her gently onto her bed. "Watch after yourself Elfrida. Do not let the old tyrant of a king capture you. I'll find you once I am finished with Wulfe." He stood to leave stopping at the door to her room, "With my luck though you would find me far before I found you. Take care Elfrida." Fenlore couldn't say more for if he stayed longer he feared he would not leave. He moved swiftly through the house and out the front door and straight to Bree.
Before he mounted he looked at Blacknight and Ameris. "Take care you two. Watch over your rider." He then moved to mount Bree but saw the token that was tied to his saddle and Fenlore couldn't help but smile. "You honor me Ameris, thank you." His words were simple but gratitude flowed from them. He untied it and tied it like a necklace around his neck. "Convey my thanks to Elfrida. I have a purpose to my life now." He said as Bree began to trot off.

Occ: We will have to see how thing develop between these two.
I will be having two seperate plots in the next one. One of Alvina and one of Fenlore and somewhere I will bring them together ^^ You are welcome to bring any characters in but I must request Wulfe xP

Elfrida looked at Fenlore as he set her down on the bed. She watched him leave, unable to say anything. Just as Fenlore was walking out she was able to say. "Farewell, Fenlore. Until we meet again." Elfrida closed her eyes, and laid back against the bed. She was sad to see Fenlore leaving, but she knew she would see him again someday, and that gave her the strength she needed for the moment. He had given her hope. The hope that she could have a good future.

Blacknight, and Ameris, bowed to Fenlore, and Bree respectfully, and watched them trot off. It was almost like this encounter had given them a new beginning when all of Elfrida's hope for life was almost gone. In Blacknight's thoughts, Fenlore had given Elfrida the hope for a brighter future.

OOC: Wow... We're done.
