But there are still things he needs to be resolved. First is he killed Hrothgar on the battle of the burning plains. He swore with the ancient language to Galbatorix that he would follow him. And he killed Oromis and Glaedr. How can he be accepted to the Varden again?



On the other hand, Nasuada thougt that in order to take over the empire she needs to control the Spine. With Varden troops tired from the siege, he sends the people from Carvahall to attack the cities on the spine. In that desperate move she also sends Eragon to help them.
