Suvana and Freed

Yep, another character, so hopefully my imagination will run out soon before I have half a page of characters. You all remember my character Lakris, I presume? Well, here is his sister, Suvana. *Drumroll*

Names: Suvana and Freed

Age: 177

Skills:

Mental Ability: Suvana has an extremely strong mental offense and defense. This is partly because of her aptitude to work with subtlety. She usually doesn’t rely on brute strength to defeat an enemy, but she uses tactics. She would carefully examine the enemy’s wards in order to find a loophole. She always engages an enemy in mental combat as she engages them in physical combat as well.

Sword and Magic Ability: Her magic and swordwork work similarly to her mental ability. She doesn’t have a lot of strength, rather an average amount (for a female dragon rider), so she relies on finding a weakness in the opponent. She is very skilled with a sword. It’s one of her most useful weapons. She doesn’t push the enemy back, but she likes to make the enemy think they are winning, so they underestimate her. If she does this, she then examines how the enemy attacks. Her magic is a little better than average, but she doesn’t overuse it, or rely on it as much as her swordwork. She more uses it to accomplish her goal in finding a weakness in the enemy. She does have a large supply of energy, however.

Manipulation: She can manipulate energy. The energy cannot be enough to overwhelm her, or she cannot manipulate it, but she can manipulate it into balls, beams, spears, or even large blasts of energy, but it uses more energy to manipulate it. She can manipulate an enemy’s energy, once it leaves their body, but she has to understand how their energy is made up. On another thing related to manipulation, she’s skilled at persuasion. It’s not a skill that requires energy, but it is one that she has had to work at.

Runes: These take a few minutes to make, so they aren’t suited for close combat. However, once made, they follow any rule that the Runes specify. They’re best used for traps and hunting, and whatever gets caught inside of them has to follow whatever rule Suvana specified with the Runes, short of killing themselves. It isn’t impossible to break out of the runes, but it’s quite difficult.

Rage (nearly ever RPer has a character with this): Suvana’s temper is slow to rise, but once it does, it doesn’t just dissipate. Her eyes glow brightly in a color of red, and her mind changes. She adopts a crazy, destructive nature, but with Freed’s help, she’s learned to focus it into destroying the enemy that has made her so furious. She has to actually be furious, however. After her Rage Mode, she collapses, drained of energy. She’s only had to use it once in her entire life, and where her enemy had been lay pile of ashes.

Race: Human Dragon rider

Hair: Straight, scarlet hair that falls midway down her back.

Eyes: yellow.

Home Village: Yazuac, but she left it four years after Jisa(now known as Lakris) did, so she wasn’t there when the villagers got slaughtered.

Parents: Mother’s name was Dana. Father’s name was Duvadr. She hated them both. She knew they were dead now though, and she regretted hating them.

Siblings: Jisa(now known as Lakris…), Lilly, and Illia. Jisa ran away when he was 19, but all three of her siblings were human, so they are dead. (Well, that’s what she believes…xD)

Character Personality: Suvana is the observing and interactive type. In a fight, she observes her opponent’s weaknesses, strengths, and abilities, and tries to find a weakness in them. She’s very interactive, however, and is always eager to make more friends. She is an extremely good strategist, and has a lot of patience. She’s scared of heights, however, so it took her a long time to get used to riding Freed. He always taunted her about this, and even though she now enjoys flying through the skies on Freed, she still has a fear of being at high elevations. She is scared of her past however, and somehow, she feels that one day it will come back to haunt her (which it will, in the form of Lakris/Jisa xD). She enjoys conversing with her dragon even more than she does with her friends. She loves Freed, and treasures his bond with her over anything and everything. In a fight, sometimes she will allow her opponent to think that they are winning, so their attacks become half-hearted due to their ignorance, and they underestimate her. However, she has to understand her opponent’s way of thinking before she does this, because there are some enemies who don’t know how to hold back, and always attack at full power, or they are smart enough to not underestimate her. She has several houses of her own, and they are all close to civilization, whether it’s in Ellesmera or the Beor Mountains. The elves taught her the art of singing to wood, which is how she makes her materials.

Character History: Suvana’s life started normally. When she was born, she only had one brother named Jisa, and a year later, a sister, and another year later, another sister. The former sister’s name was Illia, and the latter’s was Lilly. She lived a normal life with her sisters, but her brother was never happy. She didn’t know why he was so unhappy all of the time, but he never voiced his opinions except when he was specifically asked. She also noticed that her parents had a particular distaste in Jisa, and had yelled at him often. This stayed the same for over a decade, and when Suvana was 15, and Jisa 19, he had asked her a question that had startled her out of her wits, “I’m getting out of this hellhole. Will you come with me? If you do, I’d like to take Lilly and Illia. They can’t stay here.” “What! You ask me to abandon my only home to travel poorly and aimlessly through Alagaesia? Sorry brother, but no thanks.” Jisa’s eyes had turned solemn. He turned his head away, and ran out. That was the last time she had seen him. The next day, she had immediately regretted turning down her brother’s offer, and she understood what he was talking about. Her parents were cruel beyond imagining to Suvana after Jisa left. It didn’t take her long to understand what had quietly occurred when Jisa was there. He had protected Suvana and her two sisters from their parents. That’s why Jisa was never happy, and now that Jisa was gone, the next oldest had to come up to the plate. After only four years later, she had decided she wasn’t going to take it. She left her home. Like Jisa, she had asked her sisters if they had wanted to travel with her, but they unfortunately declined. Her life took a turn for the even worse then. She was left on the streets, alone, having to steal from people. She refrains from killing anyone, because she hates having to end someone’s life. Fortune shined on her shortly, however. At 22 years old, she had come across a stone, white in color. She was far away from any village or city, but she wanted to sell it. However, the next day, before she had reached the city, the object that she thought was a stone was an egg, a dragon egg, and it had hatched for her. She was shocked at first, but then she had taken her stance as a Dragon Rider. She traveled to Ellesmera, and searched for a tutor. Due to her to change of fate, she named the white dragon Freed. She found one eventually, a female dragon rider by the name of Susan (this was before the Fall). They trained for fifty years. Suvana was still young, even for a human, so she had a lot to learn. At 125, Susan declared Suvana and Freed’s training done, and the two of them stayed in Ellesmera for a couple more years, and finally left. They have been traveling the world now, trying to help the Varden secretly in any way they could.

She has two daggers on her right hip, also made by Rhunon and her sword is strapped on her left hip. Their position doesn’t matter, as she taught herself to duel with either hand.

Likes: Her dragon, her friends, the Varden.

Dislikes: Heights, darkness, her past.

Fears/Weaknesses: Heights, and the thought that one day her past might come back to haunt her.

Animal Companion: Her dragon

Physical Appearance: Suvana stands at 5’11, and is quite beautiful. She has straight red hair that falls midway down her back. Her eyes are the same color as her brother’s, Lakris, which is yellow. She has a lithe shape, which enables her to attack with quick, dangerous blows that slowly knock down her opponent’s defense. She wears a white, gold-trimmed leather shirt, and black and white leggings. She wears black boots, and a necklace with a silver cross on it.

Dreams for Future: To overcome her fear of heights, and help the Varden defeat Galbatorix.

Reasons for Dreams: She believes and sympathizes with the Varden, and she hates having to adjust to the sky every time she goes flying with Freed.

Gender: Male

Parents: Unknown, was abandoned.

History: Freed had greatly sympathized with Suvana’s position and past when she had touched his egg. He knew as soon as she came within mental contact with him that he wanted her to be his Rider. When he hatched, he was laying on the ground, a woman staring wide-eyed at him. This was his Rider. Suvana had taken him with her to Ellesmera so that they could train, and they trained under a female elven dragon rider named Susan. They trained with her for fifty years, and they then stayed in Ellesmera for three more years, and then left. Soon, he and Suvana were very disgruntled to hear about a man known as Galbatorix killing Rider after Rider, leading a group of rebel Riders known as the Forsworn. Suvana was going to join, but then news reached to them of them tutor, Susan, being killed near the entrance to Du Weldenvarden. Knowing that he and Suvana was no match against Riders who could destroy the entire Rider Order, Suvana and Freed hid, and later that year, they heard of Vrael’s death. They did nothing but live a quiet, secluded life for twenty more years, silently mourning what had happened. After those twenty years had passed, they left to travel the world. Years later, they had heard of a rebellious group known as the Varden, and they decided to discreetly aid the Varden in killing Galbatorix.

Personality: Freed is very much like Suvana. Unlike Suvana, however, Freed doesn’t have much patience, but he is good at strategy, but only for plans that they can implement immediately or in the most, a month. He has ancient wisdom, like any normal dragon, but he also has a playful nature, and he taunts Suvana due to her fear of heights constantly. They both share their curious nature, and he is always eager to learn more things. He is very protective of Suvana however, and will go to any length to protect her. Although he is sociable with other humans and elves he meets, he only opens up to Suvana, and he treasures their bond more than anything. He likes to taunt Suvana because of her fear of heights, however, and he always brings it up whenever it seems appropriate to the current situation. Even though he picks on Suvana, he would never let any harm befall her as long as he could help it. He hates the rare moments when they aren’t in mental reach. He feels safe, no, he feels whole when he is connected mentally with Suvana. Apart, he is only half of what he normally is, and thus, he enjoys her presence and would never do anything to endanger her.

Color: White

Physical Appearance: Freed is mostly an average sized dragon, but he’s a little on the bulky side. He’s fast, but he’s stronger than he is fast. He isn’t a huge dragon or anything, but he is a little bigger than an average sized dragon. The horns that go down his spine are gray, and his eyes are pure white. His scales radiate sparkles when the light hits them, and he’s a little vain of his appearance and scales.

Dreams: Freed wishes to help kill Galbatorix, due to his role in the Fall.

Reasons for Dreams: Freed was very grieved when everyone he knew was being torn apart from him as Galbatorix mercilessly slaughtered Rider after Rider, save for those who joined him, and he was greatly saddened when he heard of his master’s death.

Alignment: The Varden.
