Post Bodybuilding
Does anyone here bodybuild or weight train?

I just started two weeks ago, I woke up one morning and decided it would be pretty cool if I bulked up a bit. I went to the local GNC and purchased some Creatine, N.O Explode, and Protein. I've been lifting every other day, drinking 5 liters of water a day, and eating lots of protein, fats and carbs.

In the last two weeks i've put on 12 lbs (a lot of it
water weight from the creatine i'm sure)

I was wondering if anyone else here is into this kind of thing.

Sort of, I guess. Being in Track, and being a thrower (shotput/discus), I have to gain muscle. I actually really like to lift weights.. Mon, Wed, Fri I work out my arms, and tuesday and thurs I work out my legs (both are important for throwing). I haven't gained a lot of weight from muscle, but I'm benching 40 more pounds than last year. I would call that a success :)

I lift weights. I have for over 2 years now. I do not believe in supplements, but they do show results. I feel that you can get the results naturally without using them. They screw with your chemicals.

Make sure when you lift you use perfect or as close to perfect form as possible. If you can't your using too much weight. To bulk up you do high weight low repetition. Some good music always helps too.

Also remember to not work out everyday and over work your muscles. You have to give them time to recover. Remember when bulking to still throw in some toning days as well, low weight high rep. You wanna look good not just big.

Thanks, that's kind of what I gathered so far from reading some articles online. I'm pretty new to this game so everything is appreciated.

I'm still trying to get into a routine. Any advice? LIke as in

Mon
Biceps, Chest, Triceps..

Tues:
... ... ...

etc..?

I've pretty much been working my arms and chest monday, and my back on wednesday. I really don't work my legs because I do a lot of running every day with the army.

Do you go to a gym or do you have weight lifting equipment?

Cause I have an Olympic bench press station, a stand alone pull up bar with dip bars, I have dumbbells with weights. Free weights is the best way to gain muscle.

But to create a workout I need to know what equipment you have.

A college gym with lots of free weights, benching equipment, dip bars, pull up bars, squat bars, treadmills, ellipticals and a track.

The sky is the limit when it comes to equipment for me.

This a solid beginners workout if you have the equipment which you say you do. I'm not sure how its gonna copy over lol so bear with me on this one, but make sure you can do everything with good form. That means not too much weight, good form=better results. So, if you gotta do less weight it will still be better then a lot of weight no form.

Workout three days a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and alternate workouts as follows

• Week 1: A, B, A
• Week 2: B, A, B
Repeat

A

Fullbody
Exercise Sets Reps
Squats 5 5
Pull Ups or Chin Ups 5 5
Bench Press or Dips 5 5
Forearm or Grip Work 2 10
Calf Exercise 2 15-20

B

Fullbody
Exercise Sets Reps
Front Squats 5 5
Barbell Rows 5 5
Standing Military Press 5 5
Deadlifts 3 5
Forearm or Grip Work 2 10
Calf Exercise 2 15-20
