Post Anime: Dubbed or Subbed?
I just want to know which you prefer, dubbed anime or subbed anime. This obviously doesn't apply if you speak Japanese xD

For me, it depends, to be honest.
Initial D, Wangan Midnight and Elfen Lied I could NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS watch dubbed.

Death Note and Bleach are acceptable dubbed, but I prefer subs.

Paranoia Agent, Outlaw Star and Samurai X I actually prefer dubbed, for some reason.

Your opinions?

for me, it's just really the first way I start watching it... if I watch it subbed first, then that's how I like to watch it the whole way and if it's not, then it seems weird and... idk, it just doesn't seem right lol

Hmm. I know what you mean to an extent.
I watched Death Note subbed first, then saw the dubbed one and it just felt strange, but not to the point of being unwatchable. But I've also had the opposite; I first watched Paranoia Agent subbed, and really couldn't get comfortable with it, so I tried the dub and I loved it. And the first time I saw Initial D was a dub, but the dub for Initial D is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard in my life, whereas the Japanese voices are absolutely brilliant.

yeah, I guess I could understand that too.

I have to admit that even though I tried watching Elfen Lied subbed first, I liked it dubbed better...

Hmm, I've never seen the Elfen Lied dub before. I couldn't even imagine it being dubbed, it just wouldn't be the same. God, I wish there were more episodes of it T_T Why did Lucy have to die :'(

And Mariko and the scientist dude had to die :(
It wasn't exactly a happy ending T_T
Still, an amazing anime. Can't think of anything I've gotten more engaged in, to be honest. I've watched it through about 12 times xD It never gets old.

I prefer to watch films dubbed so I can actually see more of it rather than spend all my time reading, but single episodes of series are definitely better subbed. I don't know why.

Elfen Lied was perhaps one of the best dubbed animes ever. The voices fit in the slots PERFECTLY I can't stand it subbed.

Most anime I don't care, but that's because I can speak some Japanese anyway lol.

Haven't you heard Nyu? All the English voices are better for that particular anime.

Same with the msn thing. Don't have a myspace or anything.

Since when have you known Elfen Lied?

Not before I was on SF lol. it all branched out from a thread of funny vids or something. You posted the vid of lucy and will smith, I thought 'Wow, she's killing that dude. This looks cool.'
So I did some research and discovered Elfen lied :)
Oh, it was enhanced by the fact that your sig was full of elfen lied stuff at the time :P

So yeah, thanks for helping me find it xD

I have to have them subbed, I just can't watch dubbed anime for some reason and why does everything suddenly become Elfen Lied?

Beats me, that's the local obsession I guess. :P

I like subtitled, because dubbing always pisses me off. They aren't as good as the originals, and it's not matched up right. I can get the tone from the voice and the meaning from the subtitles.
Of course this is in general, I haven't watched anime since I gave up halfway through the pilot of Wolf's Rain...hated that stupid kid.
