Well i guess this brings up whether Roran is the one to die, that Cp said would die is the 4th book.
That straight up blows... i like Roran quite a bit, he definately adds to the story.

Well, if Eragon is going to beat Galbatorix, CP would want to make it dramatic, so he will probably kill some good characters.

will eragon remember about broms ring? he could use that energy to stop the wall moving OR transport ronan out of danger with the spell omiris taught him!!!

He probably survives. CP wouldn't build up a characters skill just to kill him for fun.

He must live because he's just got married! He can't just die...

But any way, I'm sure that Roran will survive. He is one of the new generation. CP only kills of their parents.

Why would CP kill off someone he has been developing as a superman so early in the book? Nah, Roran isn't going to die now.

Well I can't wait for the book the come out. This will be an interesting reading when it come out in November.

They are giving us all these amazing excerpts, why don't they just hurry up and get the book out instead of giving us all these spoilers! I just can't wait to read the book!

Roran can't die, some else should die, you know, just to make the ending dramatic. I like them sort of endings.

In fact Roran can not die - for a number of reasons.

We were told that there would probably be a major character that would die in the final book. Telling us ahead of time would just be a terrible way for them to lose some of the suppense that they have been trying to build. If anything this teaser is just there to white literaly tease us.

This is not a new thing for them to do. Ever since the first book. They have been releasing material from the following book in some form months or years before it comes out.

@dark dragon. He won't kill him, but for the reason - an author can't kill a main character - CP might want to surprise us... and decide to kill him.

*Read a book called A Game of Thrones - characters - the main ones as well - just die. The Author of that book loves killing of characters!

He wouldn't announce it before the book comes out though. It may be Nasuada or Arya who dies in the book, rather than Roran.

*headwalls* Xwon, did you read anything I said? CP did not release the fact that he dies. He simply put the idea in our minds. There are numerous way Roran could be saved. Putting this excerpt out there make us anxious to see what happens next. We want to know if he actually dies here (which he can't because he's alive in chapter 4). So we want to know what happened if he didn't die. It's a simple way to make us eager for Inheritance.

Killing Angela would morally be killing his own sister for CP. Angelas whole character is based on his sister. Even if it was as a joke in the beginning, her character grew to great importance. But she remains as CP's sister.

Anyway, I think Roran will be saved, somehow..., well, he can't DIE!

In the same way Roran and Katrina is based on CPs view on his parents.
CP explained that his parents love for each others was huge and that they would do through any thing together. Roran doing every thing he has done for Katrina is based on his admiration for his parents love.

If Roran doesn't die and CP said that a main character will die, who will that be then?

She was refereed as being alive in Eragon's Guide to Alagaësia who takes place after the Inheritance cycle.

Maybe it's Nasuada - everybody hates her - but I have a feeling, after Galbatorix dies, that she might become the ruler of Alagaesia.

No, he's the king of Surda, and he deserves more land!

Sorry didn't remember him lol, Orrin however isn't really a war hero as Roran is, and he therefore seems to have the more support.

Orrin really isnt all that important to the books.. If he were to die i really dont think that it would affect there campaign against Galbatorix all to much. Nasuada has already shown that she is a much more effective and persuasive leader than he.

Yes... him and his 'experiments'. I don't think CP will kill Roran off, for definite.

Also we know Roran wont die because in the King Cat Chapter given to us Roran is mentioned as being in the room where King halfpaw is introduced.

Even though the spoiler ends with the wall falling and Roran underneath it...

You never know. Roran might finally gain control of his magic in a similar way that Eragon did, under a really stressful situation. Falling rocks about to kill you are pretty stressful in my mind.

@Pandaemon. Roran might have been alive when Halfpaw came - but was that before or after the wall falling.

The first Chapter is titled "Into the breach" where Roran has the rocks fall upon him. King Cat is the fourth chapter.

Before I start let me make it clear that I do not want Roran to die!

But, more than likely, Eragon is having one of his dream/premonitions. This would explain why the opening scene of the book is of Roran dying and why in later chapters Roran is still around.

I have alredy read the book would not say how it ends but it is ok ending.
