RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: This is a very important RPG for my charries, Braith, and Voenth. In this story, one of my charries will die, I will leave it up to you to guess, but this RPG is mainly for those whose charries know Braith well, such as those whose charries were in the RPGs; "Braith's Training", and those in "Into the Deep". I will not say, "No" to anyone joining this RPG, but I only want three to four people in this RPG, mainly not to bog it down and cause it to become inactive like so many other RPGs.
IC: Voenth walked calmly down the narrow game trail through the Beor Mountains. He listened carefully to the sounds around him; the sounds of the squirrels scampering through the trees and the underbrush, the quiet steps of the deer as they passed from one clearing got another in search of food, the hushed snarls of the shrrg as they stalked their prey through the wilderness. All this Voenth heard as he walked.
Voenth walked at a confident pace. His walk was neither fast, nor slow it was just right for the task at hand. Voenth carried with him his trusty blades, Let’hjartha and Rathur’gata. These blades had never failed him and likely never would. Voenth also carried with him something more precious than anything else he owned, an eldunari. This was not just any eldunari; it was the eldunari of Bascth, Voenth’s first dragon, the one who fell at the fighting of Doru Aeraba. This, Voenth carried in a small pouch, specifically designed for the task of carrying the precious item. Voenth looked up to see a large silver looking hawk screech above him. Arget’fethr he thought to himself. The bird in question was a powerfully built silver feathered hawk of enormous size. The bird and Voenth had been friends since Arget’fethr had saved Voenth while he was in captivity in Ura’baen. Voenth waved to the hawk and watched as it dove down to greet him. But, Voenth was still on a mission. He was going to meet his dragon; Braith and Zelyts, Braith’s son.
Braith flew low over the forests in the Beor Mountains. He was on his way to meet his rider; Voenth and his son, Zelyts. He rumbled deep within his chest, happy to have some of his family together again. It had been years since he had last seen Zelyts and Braith was anxious to meet the young dragon. Braith flew through the air and used his many different senses to guide him. He, with his nose smelled the Feldûnost as they leapt from one rocky peak to another, with his eyes, he watched the dwarves and other beings leap with surprise as he flew overhead. He listened to the screeches of the eagles, falcons and other birds of pray as they called their names to the skies. He felt the air pass by his claws and under his wings. He gave a small shudder of pure delight, he was free, he was powerful, and most of all, he was happy.
Zelyts moved about his mountainous home. Here, he was great; here there was relative peace, and prosperity. Zelyts changed into the form of a cave bear and lumbered out of his cave. He walked at a decently swift pace he was hunting. Zelyts used his nose to track the deer. Its light footed steps clearly heard by the giant bear. Zelyts continued to track the deer, its panting breaths easily letting the shape-shifting dragon know where it was. Zelyts chased it down into a narrow valley, one he knew very well. The valley was a dead end and all he had to do was follow it. Zelyts continued after the deer, keeping just behind it and never allowing it time to rest, then he saw it, it was a beautiful stag, one of the older of the herds that lived near Zelyts’ cave, but Zelyts was hungry. The deer had to die. Zelyts charged the deer and killed it with one lightening-fast blow to the head with his enormous paw. Zelyts bent over and began to feast upon his meal.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain
OOC: Uh oh. A charry's gonna die? Oh no! How far into the future is this, if it's been years since Braith saw Zelyts?
IC: Phalynx turned back to survey her daughter's progress. She spread her wings into an elegant arch, soaring on the weak thermals. Most updrafts were strong enough to pick up Phal, though. With her light body and enormous wings, soaring was the ultimate simplicity. Na'ir did not have as large of a wing to body ratio, but she had a lithe, light body, and was quite adept at flying herself. The blue dragoness was not practiced in flying long distances, however. When mother and daughter had met up in the northwestern reaches of the Empire, Na'ir had insisted on tagging along behind. Phal smiled, pleased with her daughter's curiosity and eagerness to explore, as always.
You're not tired, yet, are you? she called back. Her playful side had come more to the surface since her children had been born. Playfullness was almost a requirement in caring for young dragon hatchlings.
Na'ir flapped her wings. She hadn't had as many years of constant flying as her mother, but she was determined to keep up. Her natural abilities were proving very useful in this case, luckily. She snorted when Phalynx entered her mind for a few words. Of course I'm not tired. Just because I haven't flown as much as you doesn't mean I'm not good at long distance flying. I want to know more about the land, and you're the perfect teacher, she said with a decisive voice. If anyone knew where everything was in Alagaesia, it was Phalynx. Na'ir was doubtful that anyone spent so much time traveling over such a wide area. Her mother's laughter trailed back to Na'ir's ears, and she laughed along.
Alna'ir glanced at the mountainous landscape beneath them, using her version of Phal's sight. Na'ir could see through things, very useful when exploring, and she could zoom up on things with her vision as well. Na'ir couldn't think of anything better in helping her learn about the places and secrets of her homeland. Her eyes eventually came to rest on a sudden flash of movement. She couldn't see the infrared heat signatures of creatures as her mother could, but she was still a dragon. She could pick out the tiny movements of prey from thousands of feet away.
Phalynx glanced back at the path before them, turning her gaze away from Na'ir. She searched out the skies for any signs of life, and eventually saw a distant shape that was clearly a dragon. Phal narrowed her eyes, trying to focus in on the shape and determine who it was. She knew many dragons, and found herself encountering the ones she knew quite often. A small smile crossed her face when she finally did recognize the large orange dragon. It was her friend Braith. Braith was younger than Phal, but he had found a mate and had children before the silver dragoness. His children were friends, too. Phal sped up, deciding to wait until she was a little closer to greet him.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain
OOC: Well, ten years after Zelyts' birth if that tells you anything.
IC: Voenth continued running, his legs, oddly instead of getting more tired, feeling lighter as he ran through tthe forest. He scented something off up ahead, something different, the scent of death. Voenth pulled the eldunari of Bascth closer to him and pulled out his blade, Let'hjartha, and began to creep closer to the scent. He continued around toward it and came to the edge of a small clearing, then he saw it, a large cave bear as well as a deer. The cave bear was eating the deer. The scene made Voenth's stomath turn. The elf turned and left, almost to the point of throwing up because of the bloody scene behind him.
Voenth continued his journey, but this time with a wide detoure around the cave bear. Late that evening, Voenth arrived at a large cave, marked with the claw marks of both dragons and bears he knew he came to the right place, he was at Zelyts' home.
Braith heard something behind him. He turned to see his friend, Phalynx with a younger, blue dragoness behind her. He said, Hey Phalynx, who is this with you? He flew higher to join them and soon flee behind because of their greater speed in the air. He said, Whew, slow down, not all of us are meant to fly like that, others of us are built more for fightign on land.
Zelyts turned, something was behind him, but he never saw what it was, so he turned back to his meal. He ate almost everything, leaving a few scraps for the birds and scavengers, then he set off, going back to his home. He set off at a smlw trot back to his cave.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal's smile broadened when Braith turned and recognized her as well. She flapped faster, though the high winds carried her past Braith and it took her a while to slow down enough to accomodate the larger dragon. Heh. Sorry. I'm used to flying swiftly. Anyone would think I was worse at flying slowly than fast, she said with a laugh as her wings pulled closer to her body and angled forward a little, so as not to give so much purchase to the strong tailwinds. She spilled a little of the air from her wings, sinking down to a more comfortable level for conversation. It's nice to see you, my friend. This is Alna'ir, my eldest daughter, she introduced, happiness radiating from her whole body as she said the last words.
Na'ir had caught sight of the large orange dragon as well, and thought he must be Braith, a dragon her mother had mentioned in her stories. She surged forward after Phalynx, a friendly smile appearing on her face as well. When the strong wind blew both of them past, Na'ir took just slightly longer to slow herself down, mainly because of her slightly lighter body. She took up position beside her mother, her grin spreading and green eyes sparkling. Hello. You must be Braith. You were in a lot of the stories Mother told us. May I say I am very happy to meet you, and you can call me Na'ir, she said, her voice enthusiastically friendly. She was careful not to let her energy overflow too much, though. Alna'ir could barely contain herself. They had met up with someone from Phalynx's past, someone who had perhaps been on other quests and exciting adventures. Now that they had met up with another dragon, perhaps they would go on an adventure themselves. Na'ir never tired of finding excitement for herself.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth continued to sit just outside the cave, ptiently waiting on Braith, his dragon and Braith's son, Zelyts, the shape-shifting dragon. He said to Bascth, "Do you think that the war will end soon, I miss back when we relaxed in the forests and all we had to do was persue wisdom. Do you remember that?"
That I do, but now, that is all I do also. laughed the eldunari to himself. He pondered the questions of life, mulling over them silently and to himself.
Braith looked at Phalynx then to Alna'ir. Congratulations, Phalynx. Is it Aeraldi? I always suspected, but anyway I congratulate you. As for you, Alna'ir, you look a lot like your mother and from what I have seen so far, you can fly as fast si not faster than your mother, a rival of Gornath even.
Zelyts continued to lumber through the forest, slowly and not in much hurry. He stepped out of the forest and saw an elf sitting outside his cave. He said, Who are you, and why are you on my land?

Phalynx smiled, and her eyes practically glowed. Yes, Aeraldi is my mate and the father of my children, she replied happily. She glanced around, wondering what the orange dragon was doing. So what are you up to, my friend? Usually when I meet up with any of you, something happens, she remarked with a laugh.
Alna'ir grinned excitedly. Really? You think I'm fast? Other dragons have told me that, but I haven't found many to compare my speed to. I've heard of Gornath. He sounds fast, but I bet if I had a nice tailwind I could beat him, Na'ir replied, a gleam in her eyes. She loved challenges as well, mostly those involving flight skills.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenthlaughed at the young dragon. He said, "You don't remember me? It is me, Voenth your father's rider. This is Bascth, my first dragon." said the elf as he walked closer to the dragon and patted him on the back.
Bascth glowed faintly in responce to the young dragon. He said, Hello, young one. It is a great pleasure to meet you, Voenth has told me much about both you and your father, you may not know it, but Voenth was there not long before you hatched, it is no wonder you never met him with all the many adventures that have been going on in the lands these days.
Braith laughed at the young dragoness. You may be fast, but your mother is the only dragon I have ever seen who can outfly Gornath, and that is not a wonder considering her powers. But, yes I do think you are fast. As to what you said, as a matter of fact, something is happening, I am on my way to meet both Voenth, and Zelyts. We are getting together to help Voenth get to know my son, you knwo they never really met.
Zelyts stared mouth agape at the elf. He said, You are Voenth, the Voenth who is dad's rider?!

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phalynx laughed. I may be more agile than Gornath, certainly, but he most likely can best me in straight-flighted speed. My wings do tend to slow me down a little when going straight, she said with a smile. Phal's smile widened when Braith explained the purpose for his flight. That's wonderful. It's always nice to bring the people you love together and broaden the community. I hope you don't mind if we accompany you. I would like to spend some time with my friends, and it would be nice to get Na'ir acquainted with more of them, she replied, her voice friendly.
Alna'ir grinned when Braith praised her mother's flight skills, and her eyes gleamed. She was faster than her mother over a straight-coursed flight, and could that mean she was faster than Gornath, too? Na'ir was certainly itching to try it sometime and see what happened. She loved challenges, contests, and almost any sort of flight activity. In the air, she was strong and capable, more so than anywhere else. It was in the air she felt at home.
Na'ir glanced at Phalynx when she asked if they might go along with Braith. Oh, yes, that would be very fun! I would love to meet more of your friends, Mother, especially since they're your son and rider, Braith. You seem like a nice dragon, she exclaimed with a cheerful laugh.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Braith said, Sure, you can come with me, I am sure Zelyts would be glad to meet another dragon his age. And, thankyou. I do seem nice, when I am not in the middle of a fight, then I am not so nice. said Braith with a fierce gleam in his eye, as well as a small snarl. He flew over and landed not far from Zelyts' cave. He said, Go on ahead and meet them, I will be right there.
Voenth laughed at the young dragon. He said, "Yes, and I think I hear them right now. Come, we will go meet them." said Voenth as he began to walk toward the sound of large wing-beats.
Zelyts began to half run, half glide toward the clearing. He roared loudly, Father! Phalynx! long time no see, who is this? asked the young dragon, indicating the beautiful blue dragon beside Phalynx.

ooc: hope you don't mind if I pop in ^.^
Jason was flying over the Boer Mountains with Tialgo on his back, he learned how to fly with someone on his back from his father Gornath and his mother Dawn, since they both had riders. Jason's friend Zelyts lived out here in the mountains and he wished to play with him. he considered Zelyts his brother, despite him being the younger of the two Jason considered himself more like the older brother. They made it the mountain which held Zelyts' cave, but there were some other people there as well. Geez looks like everyone wanted to play with Zelkyts today. Jason said.
Tialgo looked over Jason's shoulder to see what he was talking about. A bunch of people were there; Braith, Vienth, Phalynx and some other dragon. "Your right. But you should know who most of them are. Lets go down and say hi." Tialgo told him.
Okay. Jason did as Tialgo told him and dove down towards the ground. Right before he hit the ground Jason did an upward arc which turned into a somersault in the air. He landed gracefully next to Zelyts and said Hey Zelyts, Braith, and .... Voenth right? Jason looked over t=at the other two dragons, he didn't know who they were but the larger one he recognized. The silver scales. Oversized wings. And green eyes. It was Phalynx. Jason felt like his jaw was about to drop, he had heard so many stories of her from his father, it was like meeting a celebrity. Y-your Phalynx right? It's such an honor to meet you!! You know my father Gornath, I'm his son Jason. he said in a mix of nervousness and excitement. The dragon next to her made him even worse, she was really really pretty. Hi.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal grinned at Braith. That's why we're glad you're on our side. You are quite an excellent fighter, she replied with a laugh. Phal landed beside Braith near the entrance of the cave, and smiled when Zelyts and Voenth came out. Greetings. I've decided to visit you all as well. This is my daughter, Alna'ir, she said, indicating the young blue. She glanced up when she heard yet more newcomers, and saw an unfamiliar silvery dragon with Tialgo upon his back. She smiled when they joined them on the ground. Ah, you're Jason. Yes, I've heard of you, and it's my pleasure to meet you as well, Phal replied.
Na'ir laughed at Braith's response as well, and landed beside her mother. A few moments later, the dragon who had to be Zelyts appeared, accompanied by a man who had to be Braith's rider Voenth. She smiled and nodded her head in greeting when Phalynx introduced her, and was about to speak when another dragon, with a naurogram riding him, landed. Hi. My name's Alna'ir, but you can all call me Na'ir. Phalynx is my mother, she replied, informing Jason of her name and making sure everyone knew her nickname as well. Na'ir didn't care for formalities, and preferred being more friendly and informal; and that included using her nickname. She ruffled her wings, revealing the stark black and white streaks on the membrane.

Braith laughed loudly, glad to be with family and friends. He said, Wow, Jason, Zelyts both of you have grown so much, it is unbelieveable that less that twenty years ago, both of you were in your eggs! he walked over and sat beside Voenth and said, Now, what was it that you wished to show me?
Voenth ran over and greeted both Alna'ir and Phalynx. He said, "What an unexpated suprise. He said, "Wow, Phalynx, she looks so much like you! It is truly amazing how so many can grow so fast, and you, Phalynx you have hardly aged at all. Jason! I am Voenth, a good friend and teacher of Gornath, it is good to meet you." Voenth walked over and grabbed Tialgo in a great hug. He said, "Tialgo! It has been so long, where have you been all this time!" Then, turning to Brath he said, "This." he reached into the sling that held Bascth and puled otu the large eldunari. "This is Bascth, my first dragon, and easily the oldest here, except for me of course. Bascth, meet Zelyts, Braith, Jason, Phalynx, and Alan'ir."
Bascth glowed with a small aura of blue. He said, It is indeed a great pleasure to meet all of you, especially you, young dragons. It is good to know that our race still has young ones, not tainted by all the war and killing around them. As was said earlier, my name is Bascth. I am Voenth's first dragon, the reason, Voenth did not introduce you, Tialgo is if you remember, you were there when Voenth found me.
Zelyts looked around in awe of all the dragons that were there. He roared with joy when Jason flew up. He tackled hsi younger "brother" and said, Where have you been?! I havn't seen you in months! he walked over and said, Yea, Voenth told me while you were on your way, dad.

Tialgo burst out laughing when Voenth, "You know me Voenth, traveling all around the world, getting into a few fights, the usual!" Once Voenth let him out of his bear hug Tialgo introduced himself to Alna'ir. "Hi Na'ir, I'm Tialgo it's nice to meet you. I heard stories that Phal had kids. Congrats Phal." He looked over at Voenth who had just pulled Bascth out of the bag he was carrying. "Oh hey Bascth long time no see!" Tialgo said waving happily at the the eldunari.
Hi Na'ir-- Jason started to say but was interrupted by Zleyts tackling him. I've been training, you know dad says I'm getting really good at flying. He said soon enough I might finally beat him in a race! Jason told him while wrestling back. Once Zelyts got off him Jason ruffled his wings and smiled widely at Braith's comment. Sorry 'bout that. Jason said somewhat embarrassed to Na'ir. Your Phalynx's kid? Well now it's obviuos where you get your beauty from. Jason said, trying to work his charm on her.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal murmured a small thank-you to Tialgo, though her attention was riveted on the Eldunari. Its deep blue, shining depths were amazingly beautiful in her sight. I am honored to meet you, Bascth, she said with a smile, and sighed. A soul is the most beautiful thing to see with my magic vision. I have seen few Eldunari up close. I believe this is the third dragon in such a form that I've spoken with. And yes, it is good to know that our race is healing, she said with a note of awe. She had also spoken to the Eldunari of her mother, Navarre, and her friend, Emrhyst.
Na'ir grinned at Tialgo. I've heard about you, too. I'm happy to meet you, Tialgo, she replied. She laughed when Zelyts tackled Jason; it was obvious they were friends. Na'ir didn't have many friends her age, except for her siblings, and thought it would be fun to get to know these two.
The blue dragoness flapped onto a rocky outcropping, liking the small increase in height. Flying? I love flying! We should race, too! she cried, grinning. Her green eyes grew wide at Jason's comment, taken aback by such a compliment. You think I have beauty? Well, thanks... she replied with a laugh, I'm glad you think so. Na'ir grinned playfully, unfurling her wings a little. Despite her traveling, she felt energetic already.

Zelyts got off of Jason and walked back to the treeling where he changed into the form of a large cave bear. He growled lowly and lay down underneath the large trees. He noticed the odd looks given him by the others around him, but decieded not to say anything until they asked him about his odd powers.
Voenth smiled at the complementss given to his first dragon. He said, "Yes, we have been through a lot, though." said the old elf, looking completely happy to see his "family" together.
Bascth said, Thankyou, Phalynx. I appreciate your complements. Hmm, if I am the third, that means more of us are dieing, bu tit also means that those who are old, are still able to lend their wisdom to the younger generation. This is good, soon we will defeat that evil king, and his broken dragon.
Braith rumbled happily, he said, Hello, Bascth, It is an honor to meet you.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Jason quietly laughed at Na'ir's reaction to his comment about flying, he definitely didn't expect it. Racing her would prove to be difficult, she is Phalnyx's child after all! Isn't it obvious you have beauty? I mean your by far the prettiest dragon I've seen in a while. Jason told her, trying to slowly working his way into her heart. When Zelyts walked away and changed shape, Jason rolled his eyes. He was bragging about his powers ... again. Wanting everyone to ask about it, instead of just telling them; he did the same thing to Jason when they were kids.
Tialgo laughed at Na'ir comment. "You've heard about me?" He hadn't done many great things like Gornath, Voenth, Phal, or even Kit. He was just the guy that arrived here for no real good reason and started helping some people. Nothing to memorable. Tialgo walked over to Zelyts and leaned against him like he was a pillow. Of all the dragons he's met Zelyts was the one he was closest too. For multiple reasons; he was there when he hatched. He can become almost the mirror image of him. And he taught him basically everything he knows.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Na'ir turned her head to watch with interest as Zelyts moved away, and saw as he transformed into a cave-bear. Nice, Zelyts. Can't imagine why you'd want to be something that can't fly, though, she said with a laugh. It was obvious he was trying to impress, but she didn't mind. You only got one chance to show off your powers for the first time. And cave bears, despite flightlessness, were interesting creatures.
She glanced back at Jason when he furthered his compliments, and snorted, though the grin on her face made it obvious she wasn't annoyed. She wasn't used to any sort of male charms, but didn't fall for it quite so easily. In a while. You know the same compliment only works once, my friend. Gotta think of something new, she replied with a bout of laughter. Yeah, I've heard about you, Tialgo. My mom had several stories where you were involved, and I listened to all of her stories, she replied to the naurogram.
The golden stripe in Phal's right eye glowed softly as she continued to examine the beautiful magic of the dragon's soul. It was different from her mother's and her friend Emrhyst's, but quite beautiful as well. Well, one of the Eldunari I spoke to is that of my mother, who died a long time ago. The other is of one of my friends, who only lost her body recently. It was... hard for all of us, she replied a little sadly. As pretty as Emrhyst's bared soul was, Phal would rather have the emerald dragoness back in her true form any day. And she knew her own wishes paled in comparison to Emrhyst's rider's and mate's, who were also Phal's good friends.

Bascth's eldunari glowed with a bright light again and said, It is ok, she will soon find that life as an eldunari is not so bad, it gives us time to think and help our selves, rider, and kind. She will see the good in it, I know I did. The only thing I miss is the wind beneath my wings, but I understand how she feels.
Zelyts laughed and walked forward, while doing so, he changed into a naurogarm. He laughed at their suprised faces and said, "Yep, thats about it, a naurogarm, dragon, and cave bear. I have been working on dwarf, but don;t quite have it yet." laughed the naurogarm.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Jason smiled and shrugged at her comment and started to laugh along side her. I guess your right. I promise next time I'll come up with something better. Jason listened in to a bit of Phalynx's and Bascth's conversation, I would hate to be an eldurani. Not being able to move on your own, no breathing fire, no flying! It doesn't sound to fun for me. Plus I have no idea who I would give it to. But hey, thats just me Jason looked back over at Zelyts and laughed at him. His constant bragging was somewhat amusing, but out of all the forms he could take, Jason wished he could change into a naurogarm. They're just so awesome, even if they couldn't fly.
"Man I still can't get over that." Tialgo said looking at Zelyts. "It looks like I'm looking into some freaky mirror!" he exclaimed. "A dwarf .... cool," Tialgo said with no enthusiasm in his voice. Of all the creatures in this land, dwarves he didn't like so much. There wasn't a real particularly good reason, he just ... didn't like them that much. "Okay Zelyts, no more bragging about your powers, it's rude." Tialgo told his student, he patted him on the back to ensure that he was only playing around.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phalynx nodded sadly to Bascth, her eyes sorrowful. Though your words are true, it is something I do not wish to face until I am very old and ready to step back from the forefront. For now, I've got work to do, she replied in serious tones. If her body was killed, how would she protect her world? How would she survey the land, help her friends, and fight evil? It was a prospect she never wished to face but knew she would have to, one day. And if Bascth or Emrhyst was anything to go by, it could happen at any time, quite unexpectadly.
Alna'ir glanced at the silver dragoness, who was linking minds with the beautifuly blue Eldunari. She looked back at Jason and nodded silently in agreement, a small shudder passing down her length. I can't imagine not being able to fly. How would I explore the world then? she mumbled. All my dreams would be crushed. I'm not turning into an Eldunari till I'm good and ready, she thought with a sharp, miniscule nod. She looked back towards Zelyts, her mood lightening as she laughed at his transformation. Like I said, cool power. Have you found many uses for your other forms? she asked, very much doubting the usefulness of a form that wasn't a dragon or magic-using two-leg.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth watched as the eldunari and the dragons conversed. He began to watch the clouds above and as they began to turn dark, and very forbodeing.
Bascth looked at the dragons and said, Well, I didn't exactly choose it, but it has served me well, and yes I understand, but you are what you are, as you are a young dragoness, and I an eldunari, though I would like to feel the air beneath my wings.
Braith sighed contentedly and rolled over beside Voenth, hsi eyes too turnign to watch the clouds. He watched as they too turned dark. A storm is coming, we should get inside somewhere.
Zelyts, too busy talkign with Na'ir and Jason to listen to his father said, "Oh, yes! In this form, that of a naurogarm I can control fire and am not affected by it in any way. In that of a cave bear, I am extremely strong. And, well as a dragon, well you must already know."

ooc: This may make things a bit confusing but I changed Tialgo's species name from Naurogarm to Cendus, if you want to know why then ask me in my charry topic
"Don't underestimate us Cendus Na'ir. We may not be able to us magic like elves and some humans, but we're one of the few creature that can take down a dragon. Our claws can cut through your protective scales. Our fur coat protects us from your flame. Plus our ability to control fire isn't to be taken lightly," Tialgo told the young dragon. Tialgo looked over at Zelyts and chuckled quietly. "Don't brag to much Zelyts, you still need more training," Tialgo said to Zelyts as he gave him a friendly smack on the back.
Geez T you started acting like Zelyts for a second there, bragging away, Jason said laughing. He stopped and looked up into the sky after hearing what Braith just said. A mischievous smile appeared on his face as he thought about flying through the storm. But when a bolt of lightning struck the mountain near them, he quickly decided it wasn't a good idea. Maybe next time. Jason though. As the rain started pouring over them, he ran into Zelyts' cave with everyone else.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal glanced away from them, admiring the way the light reflected off the stormclouds. It's beautiful. It would be very fun to fly over it, but as I am not lightning-proof, I agree we should go in, she replied with a laugh. She wouldn't have enough time to get above the clouds before the storm started, and she could already feel the electricity in the air, crackling around them and breaking high above in fantastic discharges. Phal moved towards the cave.
Na'ir grinned at Tialgo. Well, you might be good at fighting us, but that's only if you can catch us. I'd rather fly than do all those things any day, she retorted, laughing. She glanced around regretfully when everyone moved into the cave. We have to go in? she thought in disappointment. Na'ir wanted to race higher, and dance among the storm. She wanted to feel the thunder through core, she wanted to dodge the lightning. She paused before heading inside, gazing at the roiling thunderhead. Na'ir slowly backed into the cave, making sure she was the last one in.

OOC: Anyone have an evil charry who would want to kill someone in this RPG, because I don't want to control like 5 charries in 1 RPG.
IC: Voenth ran inside just before the rain began to fall. He looked up at Braith and Phalynx and said, "Isn't this odd, I mean the rain? The sky was clear a few hours ago, but now look." he pointed at the jet black sky. It was surely an odd sight.
Braith eyed Voenth and asked, Are you paranoid or something, freak stormss like this happen over the islands all the time, why should it be any different here, or did you sense something? asked the orange dragon getting more nervous by the minute.
Zelyts looked at his dad and said, Father, freak storms do not happen here, it is much too dry. then he looked at Tialgo and said, If I still need more training, then so do you because a few months ago, I did beat you in fighting.

ooc: sorry not me! =3
"True, but we have our ways.," Tialgo said to Na'ir lightly chuckling. When it started to rain, Tialgo was one of the first inside. It was odd, he liked the rain, but he hated the cold. "Oh come on Voenth, you don't think it just suddenly started raining because something bad is going to happen do you? I mean come on, how cliche is that?" Tialgo said crossing his arms. "First off, I know I need more training, I'm not a perfect fighter. And two, I meant you need more training in your Cendus form, when we fought you kept changing shape. Plus I let you win.," Tialgo said to Zelyts.
Jason sat at the mouth of the cave watching the storm, it was amazing, he could just picture himself flying though it. My dad used to say, that whenever Phal's around there is sure to be an adventure, Jason said getting up walking towards everyone else. So I wouldn't be to surprised if something did happen.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: I have Rigel. He likes killing dragons and Phal's friends.
IC: Phalynx snorted. Dark storms don't always mean evil is afoot. Though evil does like to use dark clouds to announce its arrival. Storms are quite beautiful from above, as well, because of the towering cumulonimbus clouds. They are gorgeous, Phal replied to Voenth's concerns. She let out a burst of laughter when Jason spoke. Oh, isn't that the truth! Sometimes I wonder if it's really me finding the action, or the action finding me, she called with a grin.
Na'ir laughed in reply to Tialgo, and glanced back at Voenth, Braith, and Zelyts discussing the storm. I hope it doesn't mean evil's here. Storms are fun, why does everyone accuse them of harking the entrance of darkness? she added, shaking her head with a laugh. She looked out again into the churning clouds, sheeting rain, and crackling lightning. To her, it was exciting and adventerous.

Voenth stared at Phalynx and said, "Mhmm, and what about that time in the islands, the time in the Hadarac, the time in the North, the time in the Mountains, and the other times I wasn't even there. Oh! and that time with the kalkara..."
Bascth laughed aloud and said, Well, since Galbatorix has come to power, it seems that all of you have been quite busy!
Zelyts laughed along wiht Bascth and said, You have no idea how busy they have been.
Braith looked at the others, then at the many scars all over himself then laughed along wiht the rest, knowing that what Bascth had said was so very true, that it was hilariously funny.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: lol. Would you like me to bring Rigel in now?
IC: Phal continued chuckling, for once taking her life a bit less seriously. Oh, yes. Though, when Galbatorix is defeated, I highly doubt I'll be any less busy. There are still many evils in the world, like those hydras on the island, and new ones will always arise. Not to mention the perpetual threat from the Shadow Realms. Galbatorix is just one of many things we must deal with, she added, realizing that she had turned serious again. She smiled. But defeating evil is just one thing I do. I also travel and explore, as I'm sure most of you do as well, she said, her eyes sparkling.
Na'ir smiled along with the others, but her face turned more grim when her mother spoke of fighting evil. Na'ir wasn't a big fan of fighting at all. She preferred to resolve conflicts a bit less violently, and only fight as a last resort or if her opponent obviously wouldn't back down by any lesser means, such as the shadow beasts. Oh, I love to travel and explore. I shall venture across the whole world before I go into my Eldunari, she said, voicing her dream aloud. She wanted to be even more geographically knowledgable than her mother.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth stared at the sorm deep witrhin thought. "Say, Phalynx, do you think that there might be some way that we would be able to destroy the shadow realm. I mean, if we were to take that out, shades would likely be less than half as powerful as they are now and shadow beasts would nonexistand, would they not?"
Braith trurned toward Voenth and Phalynx, the question sinking deep within him him, because of the fights he had in the past with darkness.
Bascth glowed faintly and said, What do you mean, what in the world in a shadow beast, or realm for that matter, I have never heard of such?!
Zelyts looked at Na'ir, Hmm, I would like to see the whole world too, but I am afraid there is far too much for me to do here for me to travel much, if any.
OOC: Sorry for thw wait, I thought it was fang's turn. lol!

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Okay. Did you get my pm, voenth?
IC: Phal sighed. I don't think it's possible to destroy the realm. That would be like destroying a whole world, which no one is powerful enough to do, or even everyone combined. However, there could be a way to cut the Shadow Realm from our world forever. I don't know how it would be done, but it seems within the realm of possibility, she replied. Though it would be impossible to destroy a place like the Shadow Realm, could it be possible to keep it from their world? She glanced at Bascth when he asked about shadow beasts. The Shadow Realm is a world of complete and utter darkness, fueled by dark magic. The most vial of creatures dwell there; they are shadow beasts, and the pure ones can only be harmed by light magic. Many evildoers get their power from this world, Phal explained.
Na'ir listened to her mother talk about the shadows, and inwardly grimaced at the thought of such darkness and evil. She turned back to Zelyts when he agreed with her. Well, I don't think I'm needed much. I hope not, anyway. Besides, if I travel a lot, I can help other people, she said with a smile.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Yes, I got it, and no, net yet. I want it to be some time before "it" happens.
IC: Voenth looked at Phalynx and said, "If we were to seperate and isolate the shadow world, the shades would lose power, and the shadow beasts would die out. It would be a great blow to evil in the land. I will tell Islandi about it and with her help, I will see what we can do about that, but the answer to that is probably years into the future." said the elf as he stared in wonder at the storm. He said, "Now, that, that is beauty, there is not much more dangerous, or more beautiful that a storm." said the elf.
Braith stared up at the storm also and said, I will have to agree, storms are very deadly, but there are yet oer deadly things out there. I just wish that Seren were here to see this with me. said the large orange dragon somewat sadly.
Bascth glowed slightly and said, Oh, did she die? when eh heard the answer. He said, Remember this, Braith, she will always be with you, wether you have her eldunari or not.
When he heard the others talking about his mother, Zelyts bared his teeth angrily. He said, It was my fault. If only I had stayed in the cave like she said, thats why she died, damn that stupid Roc. I hate them, I hate them all! roared the young dragon angrily.

Jason got closer to the mouth of the cave, the wind that blew the rain sprinkled on his face. How could such a beautiful natural create bring up the topic of evil and shadows? If anything Jason associated storms with calmness. The cool rain dripping on your scales, it soothing. When the topic changed from evil storms to Seren Jason remained quiet. He only met her once, and he barely remembered her.
Tialgo also remained quiet, he didn't enjoy speaking of the dead. It was really his fault she was dead. It was his job to keep their three kids in the cave and safe. But he failed to keep Zelyts with them, which eventually led to Seren's death.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal's gaze dropped sadly when Braith mentioned his former mate. She looked up at her friend and put her wing on his shoulder. She put her other wing on Zelyts' shoulder. It's no one's fault that she was killed, except the roc that did it. And that roc cannot hurt anyone now. That's why we fight evil, to prevent these things from happening to our other loved ones, and to the loved ones of others. And you know she's not truly gone. Her spirit still remains with us, Phal spoke, hoping they would be a little consoled by her words.
Na'ir's wings drooped at the talk of Seren and evil and darkness. How had everyone suddenly become so forlorn? She stood near the entrance of the cave, silent. She had never met Seren, but from what her mother said, the purple dragoness had been very nice, friendly, and fun. She had still been young when she was killed. Lightning flashed outside, illuminating her blue scales.

Voenth looked down at the ground. He remembered Seren, and how mean he had been to Kairi. He muttered a very quiet "sorry" to both himself and to Seren.
Braith just sighed and layed back down. He said, So, hows Aeraldi been doing lately? I havn't seen him in a long time. said the orange dragon, trying to change the subject of the now depressing conversation.

OOC: Sorry. Voenth won't let me bring in Rigel yet, so he's the one who has to come up with the action here.
IC: Phal smiled at Braith, also happy to have reached a more pleasant topic. Though she felt bad discussing her own mate, who was still alive and well. Aeraldi's still as fine as he always is. He understands when I go out on random missions, like now, and sometimes he has his own things to do. But we still spend a lot of time together, she replied cheerfully, her mood shifting.
Na'ir glanced at Jason and Tialgo with a grin. Aeraldi's my dad, she said briefly, finding their moment of confusion amusing.

OOC: Sorry, I have been busy, maybe this will be enough action for you. Also, go ahead and bring in Rigel, and any other evil charries, cause I am going to!!!! Lol.
IC: Voenth looked at Braith and said, "So, when was it last that you were in a fight?" He knew the question was odd for the moment, but hey, he was bored. He had already revealed Bascth. He was about to sit down when he felt a slight shaking of the earth. It began to build, and build more, until the entire mountain was literally trembling, then he saw two huge black wings. They were large enough to cover the sky, but that was already done by the ever-worsening storm. The winds howled as Voenth shook. Nidhog...
Braith looked at his long time friend when he asked. He said, Oh, a few weeks, it has been a while, anyway ... What is that? asked the large dragon as the earth beneath him shook. He tried to stand up, but by this time the earth was shaking to a point where one lost all sense of balance. There was a huge roar, then the sound of wings, ... huge wings. He looked up to see two midnight black wings rise into the sky. He cursed and said, WHO OR WHAT IS THAT?!!!
Zelyts smiled; glad to be away from the overly depressing subject of the death of his mother. He looked about at the others, and felt something. He changed into the form of a cave bear and lumbered outside. He said, when he caught the scent, I am not sure what it is, but it smells of death, blood, and evil. Wait, I see it, it is a dragon!! And, the nearest town of dwarves is in that direction, I have friends out there. roared the small dragon angrily as eh changed into a dragon and began to fly toward the monster of a dragon.
Bascth glowed brightly and the eldunari roared, Get the young one, he knows not what he is dealing with. I have seen the heart of this evil, he is the dragon of old, Nidhog, he will kill Zelyts, get him!!!

Oh... Jason said embarrassed. Crap that made me look bad, note to self, do something amazing to make up for my stupidity, He told himself sternly. He smiled at the new topic, he took after his uncle Braith when it came to fights. Oh yeah? A few weeks ago, I got into a fight with this werewolf! Man I beat that mutt! When that thing started to gnaw at my wing I got a little worried but I -- What the?! Jason started to tell his story but was interrupted by the shaking of the earth. Holy --!! Jason cursed as the enormous wings appeared. It was him. The evil one that his father and sister had told him about. Nidhog. Zelyts!! Jason screamed as he flew after him.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Na'ir charged into the air after Zelyts without thinking, and without waiting for the others to speak. Her swift wings carried her to him in seconds. Zelyts! Wait! You can't fight him by yourself! she cried, glancing at Jason when he flew up. We need help, she said, looking from one young dragon to the other. The enormous, evil dragon, who she could only guess to be Nidhog, would surely descend upon them as soon as he got within range.
Phal charged forward in fear, seeing her daughter and the other two young dragons fly out. They wouldn't be able to handle Nidhog on their own! Before she reached the entrance, she saw a distant, winged shape trailing after Nidhog. No! she cried as the rumbling earth suddenly caused the rocks from the ceiling to fall. Phal backpeddled desperately with her wings as rocks began crashing from above. She crashed to the ground at the very back of the cave and looked up with horror. The rocks were too thick to dig through in under an hour, even if Voenth used magic or Braith used his ancient power to do so. Her daughter, Braith's son, and Gornath's son were alone, with two of the most powerful evil creatures in Alagaesia.
Rigel followed after Nidhog, hoping to find some action by tailing the evil dragon. He would most likely terrorize some towns and nice creatures, but if they were lucky, they'd come across Phalynx or her friends. When the lightning lit up the sky and Rigel saw three young dragons flying below, he couldn't believe his luck. There they were: Phalynx's daughter, and the sons of two of her friends. Nidhog! Look! Those three will be easy to kill, he called ahead.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth yelled angrily and began to try to move the giant boulers that blocked his path. He tore at them, until he was too tired to move. Then looked up and said, "I have doomed them, ... there is no way we can get out of here in time to save them, our only hope is that they can hide, or out run Nidhog, else they are goners, they aren't old enough to take on them by themselves, Gornath can barely hold his own, and that is with his powers of light ... what will we do?" asked the elf in a helpless voice.
Braith roared angrily and leapt forward, hoping to get past the falling rocks, all he got was a bad knock to the head as a particularly large one fell on top of him. He grunted in pain and was pushed back into the cave by the other falling rocks.
Bascth glowed with a melancholy light and said, There has to be another way out, we must get to the young ones, they could, and likely will die without our help...
Zelyts growled angrily when the other two dragons tried to stop him. He roared, No! I must help my friends, I cannot let this happen to them! sobbed the dragon as he was pulled to the ground. He looked back, just in time to see both Brait and Phalynx repelled form comign outside to help by a huge rockslide. Hr sobbed even more and said, We cannot possibly kill them, we need to get away from here and figure otu a plan. said the small dragon.
Nidhog roared happily, he had feasted upon the bodies of the dwarves in the last town, but what he really loves was dragon flesh. He roared to the next to helpless dragons below, Come here, young ones, I will show you to eternity! and began to charge toward them.

Jason flew up to Zelyts and knocked him down with his tail, Your not going to die along with them Zelyts! Fighting Nidhog and Rigel would just be stupid, even I know that! Jason yelled at Zelyts. As Rigel announced their presence to Nidhog a sudden wave of fear overcame him, not even his father could handle Nidhog, but now it was even worse; Rigel was with him. Jason scowled at Nidhog, the disgusting cannibal. If I'm going to die here, I hope Rigel would be the one to do it. Dying by getting eaten by that crazy thing is shameful! Jason thought as he flew away from the charging Nidhog. Nidhog is to big to maneuver through the mountains, Jason though. Though Rigel is the real problem. He's smaller, faster, and smarter than him!

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phalynx roared, pouring all her emotions into her voice so that the sound was heartwrenching. Her daughter was out there with her worst enemy! Rigel wouldn't hesitate to kill Na'ir, and he would want to make her suffer, because he knew it would make Phal suffer. She turned around, her face the enraged, stormy glare of a mother dragon. We'll find a way out or we'll make one, she stated ferociously. Her eyes rested on a small hole in the ground, which led to a small tunnel. We can expand that hole. That cave leads farther away, but it has to lead out eventually. I'm taking it, she said quickly, and ran over to it. Rocks exploded away as a huge blast of starfire blew a hole into the tunnel below. Without thinking twice, Phal dove into it and started running.
Na'ir stayed near her friends, almost shaking in terror. She looked between them again. Zelyts is right, we have to get a plan. We can't fight them out in the open, she said as she turned to fly after Jason. The huge, almost slathering black dragon was coming at them. She felt the scales on her neck prickle in alarm at the thought of the two powerful creatures behind them. She thought she could probably dodge their attacks with her agility, but Rigel's magic she could not avoid. And her friends were not as quick in turning their wings. They were both older and larger in addition.
Her gaze came to rest on the mountains below. A narrow canyon led down the peaks, finally coming to a large cave mouth. Maybe that canyon and cave. Nidhog can't fit, and Rigel won't be able to see very far in the dark. I can. And all of us together might be able to hold one of them off, she suggested, though she was looking for a better route.
Rigel soared overhead. He watched as Nidhog charged at the young dragons, but decided to bide his time for the moment, and see what they did. They were apparently fleeing the large dragon. Think to escape, do you little dragons? We shall kill you off one-by-one. Though, Nidhog, I'd appreciate if you left the little blue one to me. I have a little vendetta against her mother, you see. So I know exactly how to make both of them suffer, he called, making sure his voice reached the trio. Hopefully his threat would chill them when it sank in.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts heard Alna'ir's plan and immediately agreed. He morphed into a cendus and began to run. He said, "If they try to burn me, it won's hurt me at all, go ahead, I am sure that I will be able to follow." said the cendus as he sent a powerful flame at the black dragon and dodged to the side, and behind a tree to avoid the green fire of the monsterous black dragon. He yelled, "Yah! you couldn't hit the broad side of a mountain!" and sent another red flame at the black dragon. When he saw that his friends were already on the move, the cendus began to run through the trees with great agility and speed after them, he had to hurry...
Braith listened to the dragoness, and did as she did. The orange dragon began to tear violently at the earth abnd rocks, he moved anything in his path, even the larger boulders that were as large, nearly as he was. Noething could stop him. When it was wide enough, he said, All of you go through, I will never get through there, I will have to make my own escape route. said the dragon as his anger built.
Voenth did as he was told and nimbly morphed into a wolf, he rna ahead of the dragons and into the forefront, where his smaller body would fit easier and he could dig.
Nidhog was not really listening to the phoenix and said, Sure, as long as I get to eat her after you kill her. said the dragon as he sent a powerful flame back at the small wolf-like creature.

Tialgo ran along side Voenth, he used his flames to melt the rocks ahead of them. He face remained calm and serious despite all the worry he was feeling. He never actually met Rigel or Nidhog. But the the stories of the mad black Dragon and the dark Phoenix reached to the ends of the land.
Sounds like our best option, Jason said, agreeing with Na'ir's plan. He flew down along side Na'ir into the canyon. He turned his head back to Nidhog and stuck his tongue out. You wont eat us you fat, ugly over grown iguana! And even if you do, we'll give a horrible case of heartburn and indigestion!! He yelled back at the black dragon.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phal continued to tear her way through the narrow tunnel, feeling the instinctual strength and ferocity filling her body and mind. She felt as if she could get through anything, as if she had to get through everything. Rigel knew who Na'ir was; he would try to kill her. And Nidhog would try to kill them all. Phal felt the fire inside her flaring up at the thought, and she roared as she gripped a large boulder and flung it aside. Voenth and Tialgo moved with her. Braith was going to get out another way, but until he did, she would protect his son as well.
Na'ir flew next to Jason, and she kept a careful eye on Zelyts below as well, making sure to stay near him and not leave him behind. She gave a small snort of laughter at the two males' taunting of their enemies, amused despite the danger they were in. The cave was only just ahead in the canyon, and they had a great head-start. She felt her spirits begin to pick up, and felt like taunting the phoenix and dragon herself. You couldn't catch us if we flew under your noses! You're not even close to catching up! she added, sending a few small fireballs towards them.
Rigel nodded at Nidhog when he stated his intentions to eat Alna'ir; he didn't care at all as long as he got to kill her. The thought of how Phalynx would react, when she saw her daughter's body, made him smile evilly. His claws itched at the musings of her blood flowing down them. You can't fly forever, little dragons. Your first mistake will also be your last, he hissed calmly at the trio after they had paused in their childish mocking. The phoenix concentrated on speeding his wingbeats, getting gradually closer to his quarry.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
When he decieded he had done as much damage as he was going to, Zelytsclimbed the highest tree he could find, the leapt out of it. While free-falling, he morphed into his true form and flapped his wings as hard as possible to get caught up to the others and to get into the canyon. He said to the others, What will we do once we get in the canyon, sure it will stop the black dragon, but the phoenix could follow us any time, and he doesn't look like a pushover, not to mention that the black dragon will be waiting on us outside.
Once everyone was safely far enough away from him, Braith let out a monsterous roar. His powerful claws tore into the earth as well as the stone that blocked his path tto his son. He roared angrily and allowed the power of the ancients to completely control him. His roar shook the rocks themselves as the angry orange dragon began to tear rock after rock, boulder after boulder away from the now blocked entrance into Zelyts' home. Nothing could stop him for he had the anger of a father...
Voenth dug alongside the centus, and dragoness. Then, with the help of Bascth, blew an even larger hole in the rock ahead of them. He smiled widely and continued to dig.
Nidhog flapped his giant wings as hard as they could go, but he was still much too slow to catch the smaller dragons and the phoenix, so he decieded to just follow at a distance, until they got brave and tried to attack him, then he would be of use.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Not really sure, Jason said to Zelyts, But you should worry about that when the time comes. He turned his head to see how far ahead they were of their enemies. A wide smile grew across his face as Nidhog, seemed to stop following them. Hey maybe our taunts hurt his feelings and he become to upset of chase us anymore, Jason said sarcastically to everyone. As the canyon drew nearer, Jason dove down towards it. Using the wind from the storm he glided into the cave. It was certainly dark, and the lack of light due to the storm didn't help. Great, now I feel like I'm completely blind, Jason muttered feeling useless now. Well, whoever has the best vision led the way.
Tialgo stopped when he heard Braith's roar, but when Phal and Voenth were getting far ahead of him he continued on with them. What is Braith think he's doing? Using the ancient power will tire him out, and make him unable to fight! He growled to himself. He launched more flames at the rocks, hopefully they'd be out soon.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Na'ir shook her head at Zelyts after Jason had replied. It's our best bet for now. If we stay out here, we have them both to worry about, she said, and continued flying. She darted into the cave just after Jason, her powers allowing her to see an outline of the walls and tunnels of the cave. It was almost like a virtual, transparent map; everything seemed to be made of a blue ice in her mind's eye, which showed her all the passages and hidden obstacles. At Jason's words, she flapped ahead and lit her scales with a soft, blue-laced silver light. Once we're all in I'll lead you guys to a hidden spot. We should avoid a fight as long as possible, she said, watching Zelyts as he was joining them.
Phalynx raced down the tunnel at full speed. There were a few blocks, but luckily side-passages led around the worst ones. She could not yet see the opening of the tunnel, or a place to make one, but she knew it would have to open soon. Her bulky wings, now more in her way on the ground, slowed her run somewhat, but her determination made up for it. The young ones were in trouble, her own daughter with them!
Rigel continued his flight, swift and predatory. The tan dragon was now catching up to the other two, who had just entered the cave. Soon they would all be inside, and the phoenix would have the advantage. He was larger than any of them, and had even better night vision than a dragon, if a poorer sense of smell. You are trapped in there like prey, little dragons. Even if Nidhog cannot get in, I will find you. And those of you who I do not kill will simply escape into the jaws of the black dragon, he said, his voice a sinister whisper in the dragons' minds.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Easier said than done. said Zelyts in response to what Alna'ir said. The phoenix had just threatened them and he said, If we are prey, try coming in here after us, we three can take an old crow like you anyday! roared the small dragon bravely at the larger phoenix. He dove into the small tunnel after Alna'ir and Jason. Once inside, he changed into cendus form and walked after the other two, in that form, he was better suited to fighting on the ground, especially against a creature of fire, because fire did not affect him.
When he heard what the small brorn dragon had called Rigel, Nidhog began to laugh loudly. He said, Hehe, crow, hahahaha! I will remember that one. laughed the crazy dragon as he flew at his own pace after the three dragons.
Braith contiuned to dig, however every time he moved a rock, another fell, and more often than not, on his head. He finally realized what it was, he was digging low, meanign that every time he moved one, another fell in its place, he needed to dig up high to get out! He began to climb the mountain of rocks and began to dig for the top, down.
Voenth continued do dig, but he then casted a spell that allowed both himself and Tialgo to see in the pitch-black darkness. He said, "Will we be getting out of here any time soon?"
Bascth saw that they needed help, so he lent all three of them, Phalynx, Tialgo, and Voenth energy to help them. He said, Take my energy, I am not using it. Find the young ones, and hurry!

Na'ir! What are you doing!? Put out your light! Jason told her. Your light will only help Rigel find us faster! Plus I think Zelyts should lead, he's lived here almost all his life, so he knows these mountains the best. Plus his eyes are accustomed to this darkness in all three of his forms! Jason sealed his mind from Rigel and Nidhog, so they couldn't hear him and he couldn't hear them, well except from Nidhog's laugh that sounded like he was choking on a fat elephant. As the three headed deeper into the cave, Jason listened for Rigel's talon's against the dirt, and anything from their parents.
ooc: Pass with T, he's just diggin' ... >.>

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Na'ir glared at Jason. Rigel's not in here yet, I can see him. When he gets close to the entrance I'll put it out, she retorted, moving further into the cave. She continued to glance back at the phoenix, to mark his progress. Just before he descended to the cave level, the light around her scales melted away into the sheer darkness of the cavern. Thinking about what Jason had said, she turned her thoughts to Zelyts. Do you know anywhere in here we can stay hidden for a moment, without being cornered? she asked, already glancing around herself. She could see the faint tracing of every stone and the cracks behind it, but if the tan knew a place off the top of his head, it would be better.
Phal felt a small flood of energy rush into her, and her limbs suddenly felt entirely fresh and renewed. She was ready for any fight, now. Thank you, Bascth, she called gratefully to the Eldunari. She never slowed, and her legs continued to propel her along at a swift, unfaltering pace. The tunnel stretched out ahead, and she could see it was just starting to widen. It will lead out soon, I know it, she thought, growling under her breath.
Rigel continued flying, ignoring the small, insignificant insults of the dragons. If they wanted to make themselves feel braver, then he would not stop them; in fact, he'd welcome it. It would make their downfall all the greater, and the sudden realization that they'd lost would come as more of a shock. He was flying at a constant altitude, but when he drew closer to the cave opening, he dropped height rapidly. His wings spilled air as he dove to get even with the cave mouth, and he hovered for a moment in front of it to reach out with his mind. Without a word, he let out a soft, evil laugh. I know where you are, little dragons, he called in. He folded his wings and walked inside, ready to attack.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts heard the clacking of talons behind them and mentally said to Alna'ir, as well as Jason, Quit moving, and douse that llight, Na'ir! he silently walked, the fur on his paws muffling and sound that he would make otherwise. He ran along the ground like a wolf, his brown eyes picking up the slightest movement. He said to Alna'ir, and Jason, Both of you, move quietly and get behind something slightly larger than yourself, that shoudl not large because these caves are full of huge columns, which are really fun to play hide and seek with dwarves in, but anyway, get behind them, and when I lead the phoenix to you, attack him, but get away quick, and if he goes after you, always go deeper, the further you go, the less air, and the less fire, meaning that he will be in trouble. said the cendus as he watched the phoenix from a large platform of rock that looked like a column which went all the way to the ceiling of the cave.
Nidhog flew lazily over the gorge, he awaited the inevitable, the small dragons flying for their life from the phoenix, then he would snatch up onr, or two and eat them, and let the other see it, then he would hunt the last few down and get them. He also knew that there had to be more around because he smelled close to five or more dragons and one was a big male. That one may be a challange, well, might be a challange...
Braith continued to dig from the top until he saw a small gleam of light before a few more rocks shifted and blocked his view. He roaredhis delight and nearly beign out of the cave and redoubled his efforts. He let his anger tdo the work for him, imagening the rocks were the black dragon and that he was ripping flesh, scales, and bone from the dragon and the screech of rock sagainst hard ivory claws were his screams of pain. He continued to fight, continued to dig, but knew that the real battle was outside the cave and with the young ones. He said to himself, Remember your training Zelyts, remember your training. refering to Zelyts' training with Tialgo, as well as with himself. Both he, Braith and Tialgo were tough teachers, but Zelyts was a fast learner and a hard worker, he was proud of his son and felt better about the young one's chances.
Voenth growled with delight when he eard that they would soon be done with their digging and continued to work as hard as possible to get out. He knew that Jason and Zelyts were well taught, as well as experienced in fighting, Jason having killed a shade at a very young age and Zelyts having driven a spirit who invaded his mind to the back adn sealing it inside, as well as having trained and even beaten Tialgo once and learning how to fight and live as a bear here. He believed in him and asked, "Tialgo, Phalynx, how much of a chance do you think they have, that is if we do not get to them, I know they are experienced, but they have never fought these ... monsters.
Bascth said, They are stronger than you think. Alna'ir, form what I saw has many of the same strengths and skills as Phalynx, Zelyts is almost the exact replica of Tialgo, only he can change into a bear and is a dragon. Jason, Jason has much more to him than meets the eye, remember very few rider and dragons together have killed a shade no matter their age, he killed one and recieced a scar, but most others have died tryign the same thing.

Jason looked at his claw when Zelyts told him to quiet down. He couldn't retract them, so how the hell was he suppose to stop making a noise? He continued on with them, going deeper and deeper into the darkness.Jason found a nice spot for almost completely covered him. Attack him how? If we get to close he could attack us! And what would fire do against a phoenix? Jason asked regarding Zelyts' plan.
"If you doubt their abilities then they'll surely lose. Have faith in them, I'm not to sure about Na'ir but Jason and Zelyts have gone through many hardships even before their first year. They may not have fought these monsters, but they fought many more," Tialgo answered Voenth.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Dude her light was off. I implied it, but maybe I should have been more specific. lol
IC: Na'ir crept low along the ground. Though she wasn't the best fighter, she was stealthy. Unlike her mother and brothers, she could creep through the shadows, her blue scales melding with the darkness and her footsteps silent. She found a spot to hide quickly, moving behind a colum as Zelyts had suggested. She glanced at him and Jason when they started talking about what to do. I think he means that the lack of fire from a lack of air might weaken Rigel. But I don't think his fire's normal, Zelyts. It is a cold flame, and feeds equally from magic as from air. And what do you mean about leading him to us? I don't think it's wise to engage him until we have to, and it will be much safer if we wait for him to get deeper in, and then all surround him. Then we can all attack at once and no individual will be at risk, she said, giving her own input. As she spoke mentally to her two friends, she watched Rigel. The phoenix was entering the cave, his eyes flashing across the dimly-lit interior. Na'ir stayed low and kept her muscles tense in case she had to move quickly.
Phalynx glanced back at Tialgo and Voenth as they spoke about the young ones' chances. She nodded in reply. They can take care of themselves well-enough until we arrive. They are strong and intelligent, and know how to avoid danger. I just hope they are not cornered and do not try anything foolish or reckless, like fighting when they could escape, she replied. Na'ir had not faced many dangers yet, but Phal knew that she had experienced challenges, and had received very good training from herself and Aeraldi. She wasn't yet a year, in fact. Judging by Zelyts' and Jason's parents, they could take care of themselves as well, and were probably better fighters than the young, much more battle-wary dragoness.
Rigel peered around as he paused just inside the cavern entrance. He saw the shadows twisting and furling themselves around columns and outcrops of stone, and knew that the dragons were probably hiding behind some of them. He could feel their magic, and knew they were deeper inside, though. He gave a cold, eerie smile, his yellow eyes harsh in the dim light. Are you ready, little dragons? Because here I come, he called out in a creepy, whispering tone. He slowly drew further in, feeling for their magic to make sure they were not getting closer without his awareness.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Sorry....
IC: Zelyts waited silently as the phoenix neared him. He had no intention of tryingto take the giant bird one on one, but he did have intentions of losing that bird deep within the caves, either ot kill it by suffocation, or by starvation, or even at the least buy them time to find their parents. He yelled as the cendus leapt off of the platform, saying, "YAH! Take that you stupid crow!" yelled the cendus as he raced past the bird deeper into the caves. He sighed when eh heard what Na'ir said. He said, Sorry, but it is kind of too late for me to do anything about it, just stay there and I will try to lose him. said Zelyts as he nimbly ran through the cave, sometimes running on two feet, or four, but never stoping, no matter the obsticle.
Braith continued to rip at the side of the mountain until there was just enough room for one of his foreclaws to reach through. He used thisfor more leverage and continued to work. His face was a grimace of worry, anger, and even a little doubt as he worked to free himself from the cave to find his youngest child.
Voenth nodded and said, "I hope you are right, because there are not many enemies as those two. There are very few creatures that can match the power of those monsters." said Voenth as he dug.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Alright. I guess it'll just be us, then.
IC: Na'ir stared in alarm as Zelyts sprang in front of Rigel and then ran off, trying to lead him on into the deeper regions of the cave. She seriously doubted the safety of doing so, but it was too late to try and persuade Zelyts to be more careful. Now she just had to concentrate on doing what she could to keep him from being hurt. She raced to the side of the cave and loped further in, making sure to keep her footsteps silent but not wanting to lose Zelyts. If he got cornered or made even a small mistake, Rigel could be upon him in an instant. The blue glanced back, watching the phoenix as well. He looked strangely calm, perhaps even enjoying himself. Well that's never a good sign, Na'ir thought with a grimace.
Rigel narrowed his eyes as the brown dragon, in cendus form, leapt out from behind some rocks right in front of him and then dashed rapidly back into the cave. What does he think he's accomplishing? he wondered, giving a small snort of laughter. The phoenix, rather awkward on the ground, began trotting forward. He kept his mind focused on all three dragons so as not to be surprised, but decided to follow the little cendus-form dragon. I will play along with your little game. It will make you all the more surprised when I kill you, Rigel said, a sneer in his voice. He mumbled a small spell under his breath, and the cave floor directly in front of him was coated in ice. Rigel moved much faster, digging his talons into the ice and letting himself slide a short distance. Phoenixes were not known for their natural running speed, and this helped.
Phal saw the tunnel narrow ahead, and begin a slow curve to the northwest. Where it led, she still did not know, but she would follow it until there was a clear way out. Her body had fallen into a natural rhythm of motion, running along the earthen ground and dodging past obstacles. Luckily, the tunnel was mostly clear ahead of them. I can see a little way ahead. The tunnel curves and narrows, and I think it widens again. That's a good sign, she announced, growling under her breath and pushing herself to go faster. Nothing mattered now except getting out of this cave.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts ran from the suprisingly fast phoenix through the cave. He knew that the fire would not hurt him, but there was no use in testing his luck. He saw Alna'ir running after them as quietly as possible, then chose his moment to act. He leapt into the air, and wih his hind-paws, kicked one of the thinner columns in the catacombs and caused the earth above them to shift. He laughed and said, "Na na! You can't catch me, I'll get you crushed in here if you don't leave, you cowardly old raven!"
Voenth growled with pleasure at the idea of getting out. He dug his paws deeper into the earth and did his best to keep a small crack in the earth so teh dragoness could get her claws in and with her superior strength wrench the earth out of their way.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel suppressed a snort as the dragon-cendus kicked down a pillar, which started the destabilization of the cave. If he kept it up, the passage would start to collapse. The phoenix was not worried in the slightest. A simple transformation to his fire form would keep him safe from falling rocks and rubble. He wouldn't be able to sustain it for as long, which meant cutting his fun short, but he was confident he could kill the little dragons anyway. Now, little dragon-in-cendus form, you know that won't help you. You'll only get yourself trapped down here. In fact, you'll get all three of you trapped. Or, preferably, killed. And my workload will be greatly lessened, he said, his voice containing a mocking sneer.
Na'ir raced past the falling pillar, eyeing the rest of the cave to see how it would react. Nearby pillars were already cracking, as was the ceiling above the broken one. She wasn't sure how long the structure would hold up, at least in this area. She hissed when Rigel began to taunt them again, and answered his words with a blue-tinted-silver fireball. He blocked it magically, but the annoyed look on his face was enough for Na'ir, at least for now. She continued running alongside Zelyts and Rigel.
Phalynx cleared a small pile of rubble out of the way. Though it was almost as tall as she was, it took her mere seconds to remove it. She was on a mission, and nothing would stop her or slow her. She reached the narrow part of the tunnel and kept her head low to the ground, struggling to keep moving at her original speed in the cramped space. Soon it would widen again, though; she could see the widening of the tunnel ahead. In fact, there were even a few stalactites and stalagmites in it. The cave was about to connect with a larger system.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth snarleld happily as they broke through the smaller tunnel into a larger one. It was wide enough for Phalynx to walk and stand comfortably, and Voenth was able to morph back into his natural form, that of an elf. Voenth looked about the black cave and could not even see his hand in front of his face. He asked Phalynx, saying, "Can you see anything?"
Braith finally broke through the wall of rocks. He growled as he finally pulled his tail free of the debris. He looked at the skies through blood shoot eyes. He could not see his target, but he could clearly smell him. He could smell teh blood, as well as the rotting flesh on the claws, in the mouth of the monster he was hunting, he could smell the stench of Nidhog...
Zelyts laughed and said, "I am never trapped here, I have explored all over this place, I know all the ways out, and how to get to them, I won't get trapped, idiot." said the cendus as he continued to run. He had to keep distracting the bird if he was ever going to defeat it.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel continued after the dragon-cendus, snorting at his taunts. Good for you. Doesn't change the fact that you're going to die, though, he said, with almost the phoenix version of a shrug. (The fact that he was running prevented him from actually shrugging, however.) The dark phoenix knew that this dragon was probably trying to lead him into some sort of trap or place where he would have an advantage. Rigel didn't really care, though. He was confident that he could kill him in any situation that could arise. And once he killed the dragon-cendus or drove him into the claws of Nidhog, Alna'ir would be his. Rigel could just picture Phalynx's look of horror when she saw her daughter in his talons. It was almost enough to make him turn to pursue the little blue dragon instead.
Na'ir bolted along, dodging several large falling rocks that were the result of the cave's destabilization. She wondered what Zelyts had planned to take on Rigel. He knew these caves, so he should know the best spots to fight. But how much did he know about Rigel? How much longer are we going to run? she asked him.
Phalynx continued at a dead run, no longer caring if she left Voenth behind. She could see the cave widen out up ahead, and join with a larger system of passages. A thick maze of stalactites, stalagmites, and giant stone pillars filled most of the cave ahead. And at its edge, she could see movement and magic. We're getting close... she said, her teeth bared in an unuttered snarl. Rigel would be hers very shortly. She desired nothing more than to rip her claws through his feathers and flesh, and burn him with her starfire. He would not touch Alna'ir!

OOC: I can try, or we can just say that he followed along trying to help, but soon found himself lost in the cavens, but if you want, I can try.
IC: Voenth was forced to run after the starry dragoness at full speed just to keep up with her charge through the cavern. Voenth ran as fast as possible, then, as they progressed, the elf could see the glow of fire, however instead of red, or even yellow, it was a dark blue color. The elf immediately unbuckled Let'Hjartha from his belt and ran toward it.
Braith roared his challange to the skies and shot higher into the air. When he caught sight of the giant black dragon, Braith charged. He hit Nidhog in the side and nearly drive him out of the air. Braith then sent a powerful orange fireball after the black dragon to add insult to injury.
Zelyts laughed at the bird and said, "I will not die here." as he stopped running and faced the bird in what looked like a mineature arena, as it was surrounded on all sides by small rounded columns of stone. The cendus was ready to take the bird on head to head, and either win or die, in either case it was going to happen eventually one way or another.
Nidhog roared in suprise as he was hit in the side by the huge male dragon. It angered him greatly that he had been taken off-guard by the dragon, but never-the-less the orange male was outmatched. Maybe not in brute strength, but Nidhog had experience on his side. The black dragon roared back and unleashed his fire, the deep green fire hit the orange and burned through the scales and into the soft flesh underneath. Then the black dragon followed up with a hart hit to the side of Braith's head with its tail. The orange dragon was sent hurtling toward the side of the mountain and when he hit, it moved.

OOC: Yeah, he could get lost or trapped or something. Whatever works lol.
IC: Rigel clacked his beak impatiently at the young dragon, but narrowed his eyes when Zelyts stopped and turned to face him. Odd... Does he really think he can take me on in a fight? Rigel wondered. The phoenix skidded to a stop on his icy floor, extending his wings and flapping them a few times to halt himself. He could sense the blue dragoness growing closer as well, but right now it would be better to deal with the immediate threat. If, indeed, it really proved to be any kind of threat. You're really going to try to fight me? Rigel asked, his wings half-raised.
Alna'ir kept up with her friend and the evil pheonix, but suddenly the cave began to rumble. Rocks fell from the ceiling, blocking her path. The dragoness jerked to a stop and leapt backwards as more rocks fell in front of her, landing where she had been mere moments before. She growled in annoyance and began racing to the side, moving as fast as she could to get around the rocks and to the place where she could see Zelyts and Rigel. Though Zelyts was strong, Na'ir didn't think he could last long in a direct fight with a phoenix with many millenia of knowledge and power behind him.
Phal sprinted, her limbs working tremendously to propel her ahead. She could just see them on the edge of her vision, slightly blurred by layers of stone; Na'ir, Zelyts, Jason, and Rigel. The starry-scaled dragoness snarled as she ran, ready to tackle her enemy and tear into him with her claws and teeth. However, a rumbling of the cave up ahead cut short her plan to run and pounce. Rocks began tumbling from the ceiling, and a few stalactites fell, crashing around Phal and sending up sprays of dangerous rocky fragments. She darted ahead and then whipped out her wings to stop herself just as a large pillar of stone fell in front of her. She backed up toward the side of the cave, waiting for the rain of stone to cease.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
"Aye bird-brain I do intend to fight you." said Zelyts as he flexed his muscles and allowed a small spart to start at his feet and grow until his entire body was covered in bright red flames. He smiled at the phoenix and said, "Don't think you are the only creature who can exist in fire." said the cendus as he stepped toward the phoenix and smiled as the floor beneath him began to steam as the moisture was evaporated by the extreme heat.
Braith growled in pain as he pulled himself from the small crater in the side of the mountain. He shook his head vigoriously to try and recover his senses, however he did not have long before the black dragon was upon him again. The twolarge dragons locked claws and began to fight for the upper claw, wings beating, teeth biting and tearing, and fire spewing from their mouthes, both were very evenly matched...

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel eyed the young dragon-in-cendus-form curiously, his yellow gaze doubtful. In that form, his opponent was less than half Rigel's height, and did not appear to have any other weapons than those he was showing. The phoenix did not know if he knew any magic. Rigel doubted the dragon could last long without it, and so showed a confident sneer. So be it, little dragon. But I hope you realize you won't last long, he taunted, ruffling his wings in an offhand way. The phoenix let out a long, piercing screech and tore at the stone floor with one talon.
Na'ir bolted down a narrow corridor of stone, leaping over fallen rocks and ducking under pillars that had not quite reached the ground in their fall. The shorest path she could see to reach Zelyts was still a long and winding one. As she ran, she heard an eerie screech echo through the cave and ring in her ears. Her scales prickled as the sound put her on edge.
Phal dug ferociously at the stones that now barred her way from the rest of the cave. She could see them, just Na'ir and Zelyts alone with her enemy, Rigel. The phoenix's screech rang throughout the cave, filling Phal's mind with pure rage. She smashed a hole in the rocks large enough to look through and let out a returning roar. Her challenge was angry and feral--that of an enraged mother dragon, and soon she had scrabbled away enough rocks to start lunging her way through.

Zelyts laughed in return and said, "We will see won't we?" and began to circle the bird. He was careful to stay an extra few feet from the bird to avoid the dangerous beak and claws of the bird. He smiled and sent a powerful red flame at the bird. He did not expect it to hurt it, but did want to see how it reacted.

Rigel clacked his beak and rapidly extended one wing, bathed in cold fire. The wing cut into the cendus' fiery blast and dissipated it. In the same movement, he flashed the wing backward and spoke under his breath. The tips of his primary wing-feathers glowed blue, and dagger-sharp icicles coated the rocks behind the phoenix. He spoke again and the icicles shot out and headed for the cendus. Rigel then coated the ground in ice beneath his opponent and stepped back with a hiss.
The blue dragoness leapt over another fallen pillar of rock and turned sharply around another one, cutting back the way she had come around the pile of rubble she had passed. Just a little farther on this path and Na'ir would reach the open area that Zelyts and Rigel were fighting in. She heard some loud noises start to echo from their chamber, and knew the battle had started.
Phal tore at the small rocks that barred her passage, angrily ripping at the dirt and stones until her claws were sore. Finally, the opening was just wide enough for her to get through. With another lunge forward, she squirmed out and began tearing straight through the cave, her path clear. Rigel! she screeched, You are mine! Leave the young ones alone and come fight me, coward!

Zelyts saw the ice coming at him and he growled. He leapt over them, using his skills in martial arts taught to hi by Tialgo, and at the same time, sent a powerful flame at the phoenix. As the fire passed, it heated the stones beneath it enough to cause the ice to melt, and then begin to steam. He said, "Come on, you have to be able to do better than that." and began to run toward the phornix, his claws outstretched, and flames all over his body. He acted as if he would leap at the phoenix, but at the last moment, jumped to the side and sent a flame at the rocks above the phoenix, when it hit, some of the rocks fell.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel narrowed his eyes as a small, eerie smile played at the corners of his beak. The water was now seeping into the cracks in the stone floor beneath them. Rigel waved his wings, blocking the falling rocks from above with a shield of cold fire, and then directed his magic down. He chanted quickly under his breath, and the water (which was now deep within the cracks in the floor) froze. The expanding water caused the stone to fracture, and finally break. The floor collapsed out from under the phoenix and cendus, and Rigel flapped his wings, hovering in the air as a seventy-foot hole was opened beneath them.
Na'ir continued running, and skidded to a halt when the floor of the tunnel suddenly fell away. She glanced to the left and saw that the hole floor beneath the chamber the two were fighting in had disappeared, collapsed into a deep hole with unscalable walls. She looked in front of her, knowing her wings would not be able to fit in that tight space. She jumped forward, searching for a way onward.
Phalynx was ignored by Rigel, and it infuriated her all the more. She let out another roar of challenge and continued her run.

Zelyts cursed as the ground beneath him began to crumble, and only barely managed to backflip onto one of the pillars on the edge of their "arena" before the entire floor fell. He growled at the phoenix and said, "If you miss me wiht your magic, and hit this column, you, me, and everyone else will die too, so try anything, and you will go down with me." said the cendus as he sent wave after wave of fire at the phoenix. He was down, but not out.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel laughed coldly. Miss you? Why, I had no intention of doing so. You're lucky I'm finding this fun, or else I would simply do as you said and crush the pillar, he replied, yellow eyes gleaming. Rigel could simply revert to his fire form and use the added magic to blast a tunnel out of the cavern to save himself. He easily blocked the fire attacks; the flames dissipated as soon as they hit the cold fire licking up the phoenixes' feathers. Rigel began to chant in a low voice, and a low wall of blue fire appeared, completely surrounding their battlefield. The wall of flames grew ever-so-slowly higher. Soon the young dragon would be his.
Na'ir scrambled down the sharp incline and into the hole. After a brief inspection of her surroundings, she knew it was the only way to get to Zelyts and Rigel. Her claws gripped the walls of the hole for dear life as she slid down. At last, she reached the floor, and began running down the much-deepened tunnel to get to her destination. It was only a little farther ahead, and then a sharp turn to the right. Then, after some more running, she would reach the large hole Rigel had created.
Phalynx saw Rigel's magic start to build ahead of her, surrounding him and Zelyts. She hissed, fearing what the phoenix planned. Even she didn't fully know what he was capable of; her fights with him had been limited. She could only keep running, hoping to make it to the two young ones in time to help them.

Zelyts growled at the Phoenix and said, "You would suffocate before you escaped this place. The mountain is far too large, and besides. Fire only exists where there is air, fool!" growled the cendus as he sent fire at the phoenix from all directions at the phoenix, as well as a few flaming hot stones, which he threw with great accuracy. He growled at the phoenix and said, "You will die, or you will go down with me, in either case, you aren't leaving here." said the cendus threateningly.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel simply laughed again at his opponent's words, enjoying the rage he was being sent into. The phoenix had no wish to argue when he knew he was right. Let the little dragon have his ideas; he would soon be dead anyway. The dark phoenix didn't bother blocking the flames as they were sent at him, but kept up a constant coating of cold fire around himself to negate the effects of normal fire. The stones were well-marked, but any that came near to hitting a vulnerable spot were dealt with by temporary, small shields of ice. Rigel didn't bother with all of them, though. Thrown rocks really didn't perturb him that much. He bided his time for now, just blocking attacks and sending clouds of icicles at random. First he would just have some fun with the young dragon.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts sighed as yet another cloud of ice formed and the points were sent at him. By now, he was so hot, that the ice melted even before it was within one foot of his body. He said, "You are going to have to do much better than this." said the naurogarm, as he began to formulate a plan. He continued to think about what his options were, would he have time to change into a dragon before the phoenix could attack?
Braith's muscles began to cramp horribly. He had never felt as tired as he did right then. The black dragon snarled and sent another flame at Braith, who simply blocked it with a flame of his own. The two of them were very evenly matched, but, unless the black dragon was an excellent faker, the black dragon was winning. Braith's body was cramping, he was breathing heavily, his attacks were sloppy, his movements sluggish. He had to end the fight before the fight ended him.
Nidhog had to admit it, he was impressed by the strength and fighting experience of the orange dragon. Never before had he fought such an equal match to him, yet, his experience and amazing stamina were slowly but surely winning him the match. Before long the orange would make a mistake, and that would be the end...

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel was growing bored with this game. The cendus' fire could not reach him through his own cold flame, and his ice could not reach through the fire. Perhaps it is time for more direct combat? Yes... a new game, he thought with an evil grin. With surprising speed, Rigel rushed the young dragon-in-cendus-form, his whole body letting off a thin layer of cold fire to absorb heat. Rigel muttered a quick incantation under his breath, and the flames thickened along his beak, talons, and the leading edges of his wings. Those areas began to glow with a ghostly-metallic silver-white light, and Rigel knew they were all razor-sharp, including the edges of his wings. He rose up his talons and slashed at the cendus, his wide wings pounding the air before him in a great whoosh and preventing his opponent from getting closer to him or jumping in his direction.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
The cendus growled as the phoenix rushed him. He was cut on the forearm by its powerful, as well as sharp beak, but he kicked out with his two hindlegs, both of which were covered in orange fire and kicked it backward. He snarled and said, "Try again, you ugly ole buzzard. I will fry you like a chicken." said the cendus who remembered the small birds that the dwarves cooked over a very hot fire, it was a very tastey food. One he had stolen more times than a few.
The cendus had no escape, he had no way out, but the bird had not killed him yet. He sighed. He was becoming fatigued by this long fight in his fire form, and before long, it would begin to extenguish itself. When that happened, he would be once more vulnerable to the cendus' most potent weakness, cold. The cold fire of the phoenix was not much of a threat to him in his fire form, but without it, it would likely kill him...

Rigel swept backwards with his wings and moved to get in a better position over the cendus. The dark phoenix was easily as big as a dragon of many decades; this little creature's physical abilities were no match for his. He attacked with his talons again, eager to weaken the little dragon and finish his game. When the dragon was weak enough so that he couldn't fight back, Rigel would have even more fun with him. And, of course, seeing her friend in such a state would devastate Alna'ir. The blue dragoness was his true target, for killing her would be like killing a part of Phalynx. Rigel jerked one of his wings forward, slashing at the cendus with its magically sharpened edge.

Zelyts growled in pain as he was unable to completely dodge the attack of the phoenix and was cut on the arm. He swiftly kicked the phoenix in the face and scrambled about for a better clawhold. However, his fire was dieing out. The flames became smaller and smaller until they finally were extinguished. The cendus felt the cold on his skin. It swiftly sank past his fur and he felt it even in his blood. He howled angrily and leapt off of the pillar, straight into the abyss below...

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel hissed in annoyance as the cendus's kick left a scratch on his face above his beak. His annoyance disappeared when he saw the creature's fire extinguishing. The dragon-in-cendus-form leapt off the pillar, and was followed by the phoenix. Rigel hovered above the dark pit and chanted a slow line of spells under his breath. A circular wall of cold blue fire appeared in the pit, blocking off the cendus. The wall abruptly exploded inwards so that the whole pit was filled with the cold flames. Rigel laughed evilly at his own little game.
Na'ir turned the final corner in the maze of stone, but was met with a wall of blue fire. She roared in surprise and anger as she skidded to a halt. Some of the flames had licked at her front limbs, and she hissed at the intense pain of the cold fire. She let out a blast of her own starfire, clearing a small swath of blue flames. Unfortunately, the fire was self-sustained, and began closing back up to fill the gap. Zelyts! Zelyts, where are you? she cried, unable to locate her friend through the thick wall of cold fire.

Zelyts' scream of pain turned into a roar of anger as he fell through the cold flames, but as he did so, changed into dragon form, and just in time too. The brown dragon growled angrily and sent powerful flames at the phoenix. Then, as the dragonfire was blocked by the phoenix's cold flames. The dragon rushed the phoenix. He said, Try that again, and I will rip you apart. said the dragon who was stil slightly shaken from th near-death experience he had just endured.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel laughed at the dragon, his face set in a cold sneer. Really? You honestly think you can? he replied, and laughed even harder. The phoenix flew until he was directly above the rising dragon and flapped powerfully down with his wings, sending a wave of cold fire toward his opponent. He spoke a quick spell under his breath and a cloud of razor-sharp ice shards appeared, completely surrounding the dragon. They shot towards him as one, from all sides. Rigel then flapped backwards and sank a short distance in the air so he was only a little above the dragon.
Na'ir walked a little ways into the thick torrent of blue flames which still covered the lower half of the pit. She cleared more with her starfire so that she had a safe spot for herself, and heard the commotion above her. The blue saw Zelyts fly out of the fire, now in dragon form, and head straight for the large, dark-colored phoenix.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts growled at the phoenix and said, I think nothing, I know I can beat you, know why? Because I have friends and family who will always be there for me! said the dragon just before the needle sharp ice hit his skin. Were they longer, it would have likely killed him, but as it was, it only injured him. It also slowed his flight because of the many holes in his wing membrane.
That was it, he could do no more. The orange dragon lay panting on the ground, thouroughly exhausted, both from the length and intensity of the fight, as well as the major ammounts of blood he had lost. He was not sure what was even going on anymore. He was too tired to move, too tired to speak, all he wanted was to rest. He saw the shadow of the black dragon coming toward him. He knew that this was it, his life was about to be ended, but as the black came closer, Braith heard a deep crackling, a powerful rumbling beneath him, then all the earth beneath the two dragons gave way, hurling both of them into the earth below.
He had done it! he had outlasted the orange dragon aand now victory was within his grasp. All that was left was to kill this one, then hunt down Rigel to help kill the others, but just as he neared the orange dragon to deliver his final strike, the ground beneath them broke apart.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel laughed at the dragon. Your friends and family cannot save you now, little dragon. You will die, he replied, his voice cruel. He dove at the dragon and slashed with his talons, and then flapped his wings to go up again. Another wave of cold fire pulsed towards Zelyts.
Na'ir worked on getting through the thick flames on the ground, to where she had room to fly. She heard Rigel's words to Zelyts, and snarled angrily. When she had enough space cleared, she rose into the air and let out a jet of starfire, which intercepted the pulse of cold fire and disintegrated it. You're wrong, Rigel! she screeched angrily. The phoenix looked at her, rage on his face, but just then, the ceiling and walls started shaking. Na'ir roared in alarm and swerved to avoid falling rocks.
Phalynx was digging through a thinner part of the cave wall blocking her from Rigel and the children, when she felt the ground begin to shake. She twisted her hindquarters out of the way to avoid a huge falling rock, and then squeezed the rest of the way into her hole. Outside, rocks and stones were crumbling around her.

Zelyts screamed in pain as his skin was torn by the beak, and claws of the evil phoenix, and then again as he was burned by the cold fire of it. However, he fought through the pain and managed to bite at the phoenix and swipe at it with his claws. He was not dead ... yet.
Braith hurtled into the bowels of the earth. He was trying to control his fall when a piece of rock which jutted out of the wall knocked him senseless.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel hissed as the dragon's claws left scratches on his stomach. They weren't bad -the phoenix had feathers and larger size to protect him- but they stung. He lunged forward again with his beak, snapping at the young dragon's neck. Just then, a small form crashed into his left wing, catching him off balance and causing him to tumble away a short distance. The small blue dragoness was righting her flight near the cave ceiling. Rigel sent a swarm of ice shards at her, followed by a wave of cold fire. He would finish his current fight and then deal with her. The dark phoenix darted towards the brown dragon once more, intent on finishing his work quickly now. No more games.
Na'ir struggled to correct her flight after barreling into the phoenix's large wing, and was almost immediately met by the ice shards. She blasted most of them away with starfire, but her tail was scraped by ones she could not get. The cold fire came suddenly. Na'ir only had enough time to make her scales glow with light magic, but it wasn't the best protection. The blue-white flames rippled across her with a horrible feeling so cold it burned. She cried out in pain and lost about a dragonlength of height before she caught herself again.
Phal saw Braith falling through the mountain, for her little tunnel was safe from the falling rocks. She couldn't help him now, though. She had to save the children from Rigel. She turned back in time to see the evil phoenix attack Zelyts and send ice and cold fire at her daughter, and roared in rage. Rigel! Why don't you face me? I'm the one you want; leave them! she screeched in fury, and began digging ferociously through the softer part of the cave wall once more. Normally she would feel extremely claustrophobic in the tiny space, but everything except attacking Rigel and getting him away from the younger dragons was gone from her mind.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts growled angrily at the phoenix and hurled himself at the larger creature. He said, YOU LEAVE HER ALONE! YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME! and roared fiercely as the ability which came from his father's family took control. The brown dragon had a red tint to his scales and he ferociousky attacked the phoenix with more strength and accuracy than ever before.
Braith's body finally hit one of the larger ledges and stopped its fall. The large orange dragon lay there senseless, but after a while, the dragon began to come around once more.
Nidhog growled angrily. Had it not been for his power over earth, he would likely be dead. He had fallen into the part of the caves which were full of jagged rocks at the bottom of the pit. He had used his powers to create a wall between him and the deadly points.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel was surprised when the small dragon suddenly got a red tint to his scales, and seemed to grow dramatically in strength. He seemed to have some hidden power that the phoenix had been unaware of, and it made Rigel angry and unnerved him. What else didn't he know about this dragon, that could pose a threat? He had to work much harder to defend himself from the dragon's incessant attacks, which had grown tremendously in power. The phoenix was already bleeding from several cuts, any of which could have been much deeper if he had been but a little slower. Rigel summoned up more cold fire, sending pulses of it at the brown dragon and the little blue one, who was still trying to fight her way to him to help the brown. The cold flames were not doing enough on the offensive, however, so Rigel spoke another quick spell and brought more clouds of ice shards towards the two young dragons.
Na'ir was trying to break through the thick walls of blue fire that Rigel was summoning. Her starfire could break through, but there would just be another blast of cold fire behind the one she had blocked from reaching her. When the ice shards came, she had to stop trying to get to him just so that she could defend herself from the razor-sharp bits of ice, and several still managed to cut her.
Phalynx was enraged at Rigel for ignoring her once again. It seemed like he was doing his best to kill Zelyts and Na'ir in front of her, but she wouldn't let that happen. Her claws were aching from the constant digging, and she often supported her digging with powerful blasts of starfire that got her further along. She was afraid that she would be too late though, and she was so concentrated on getting to the children that she barely noted Braith and Nidhog crashing into the caves.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Zelyts roared in pain as the ice sliced through his already hurt skin. He growled and blew a powerful ball of fire at the phoenix. He angrily snarled and launched himself at the evil bird. He bit, scratched and burned as much as he could. It was time for that evil thing to die!
Nidhog growled annoyedly and began to claw his way back out of the pit. he sides were more than rough enough for him to climb.
Voenth had waited long enough. He had watched the battle between the two young dragons and the phoenix long enough. He morphed back into elf form and sent a powerful stunning spell toward the phoenix.
Braith groaned painfully as his senses continued to come back.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Rigel blocked Zelyts' physical attacks and his flame with cold fire, but it was getting more difficult. He sensed the elf enter the battle as well, and only just managed to flap quickly up to avoid the stunning spell and mutter his own counterspell to protect himself. The blue dragoness was flying up again as well. This was all getting too much for Rigel, who would have greatly preferred to swoop in, kill a dragon, and swoop out again without much of a fight. And he knew that once Phalynx managed to dig her way in, any chance of killing anyone would be gone. The dark phoenix dove at Zelyts, allowing the dragon to inflict a few blows on him, but getting close enough for a powerful counterstrike. Rigel's talons, laced in blue flame, struck forward at the brown's chest, and his sharpened wings sliced down as well (though mostly to give him time to flap back up again). He immediately sent a few more waves of cold fire across the room to keep his enemies distracted.
Na'ir flew back up at Rigel again after his ice had dissipated, but was slowed by another wall of blue fire just as she saw Rigel dive at Zelyts. She shielded herself from the flames but had to stop. With all the phoenix's magic, she was only halfway from the floor to the ceiling.
Phal was about halfway through the wall, and fiercely making her way through. It appeared Voenth had found some small tunnel or crack that led into the room with Rigel and the two young dragons. His magic would help, and his fighting experience.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Well, I suppose it is time to mentally scar everyone and almost make Braith lose his mind lol.
IC: When the phoenix flew close and attacked, Zelyts was immediately on the defensive. He was busy trying to dodge the blows of the nimbler, and larger phoenix while deal damage with his own claws and fire, however just before the two broke apart, one of the phoenix's claws caught the skin on the underside of Zelyts' neck. As the phoenix pulled away from the dragon, the claw tore through the soft flesh and scale. Zelyts felt something wet and hot on his chest. Darkness began to creep into his vision and he could no longer feel his body. Then, the young dragon began to fall, slowly at first, then his speed picked up. He fell straight down to the bottom of the hole. A small brown stone then rolled silently out of the open jaws of the dead dragon at the bottom of the pit.
Voenth did not believe his eyes as he saw the small dragon fall from the air down the pit. He stared blankly at the place where he had seen the dragon last before it had been enveloped by the darkness of the hole. He stared openmouthed as dread, sadness, and anger surged across the link between him and Braith.
Braith was still barely conscious when he felt the anguish through Voenth's link. He immediately knew what had happened. The orange dragon then felt his anger as never before. It far surpassed anything before or after. He had never felt so much hate, or evil in his life. As his rage boiled his entire body was wracked with tremors. He managed to stand up on his four feet and ground the ground beneath him into powder. As his anger continued to build, he rumbled so loudly in his throat that the entire mountain began to shake. Never before had a dragon felt this much anger. The orange dragon began to ferociously claw his way up the sides of the pit he was in. Braith clawed up like some sort of feral animal. He did not even seem like an intelligent being, he seemed like nothing more than a beast with a want to kill.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Wow. Gone for a month, and come back to this? Now I'm sad, gah... (Though you did it quite well, voenth.)
IC: Rigel felt one of his talons pierce the flesh of the young dragon's neck. As his razor-edged wings swept down, lifting him abruptly into the air, he felt the blood of Zelyts stream out as his claw scored across the dragon's neck. Immediately, the pheonix felt a sense of supreme triumph. He had killed many dragons before, but none of their deaths had felt quite this satisfying. He savored the looks of shock and horror that passed over the faces of the elf and Phalynx's daughter, and relished the piercing, infuriated roar that the silver emitted. Even the tremendous rumble from within the mountain brought some triumph, but also nervousness. Braith was a powerful and imposing dragon, and this was his son. Rigel would not be able to defend himself against the orange with these others helping. He let out a piercing shriek and sent out a powerful wave of cold blue flame in triumph, planning to make his escape.
The cold fire cleared in front of Na'ir, only to reveal a spray of blood trailing from one of Rigel's talons as it left Zelyts' neck. The young dragon began falling, and in the blue's shock it seemed to take ages for him to hit the ground. She was dimly aware of her own voice, crying out in horror and grief, but felt only numbness. This couldn't be happening. Zelyts could not be dead. She saw something fall from his jaws as he hit the floor, but before she could make it out a powerful wave of Rigel's fire swept through the cave, catching her off guard. The force slammed into her and sent her straight into a pillar of rock, knocking the breath from her lungs. She landed on the top of another pillar and lay there, stunned.
Phalynx let out a trumpeting roar of grief and anger as she witnessed what occurred. The only emotion that filled her was fury at Rigel. The phoenix had long sought to deal a blow to her or anyone she was allied to, and on this day he succeeded. The silver threw herself at the rock before her, bruising and cutting herself as she relentlessly attacked it, bathing it in intense starfire and then hurling her body forward. Rigel would not get away with this.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: Shame on me for forgetting my own RPGC.
IC: The elven spellcaster was unable to contain the tide of anger that rushed across his link with Braith. The spellcaster began to cast spell after spell at the phoenix, spells of killing, maiming, holding, and spells even to try to pull the oxygen in the air away from the evil bird. The power used for these spells came from both the eldunari in his cloak and from Braith himself. The elf let loose a terrible cry one of pain anguish, and of hatred at the phoenix as he continued to cast countless spells at the phoenix. Were it not for a powerful voice in his head, Voenth would have likely killed himself. It said,
Voenth! Now is not the time to kill yourelf. If you wish to avenge the death of Zelyts, then you must live to see another day. You will accomplish nothing if you kill yourself in an attempt to destroy the phoenix. Use your brain, you will have your chance! said Bascth as his eldunari glowed softly.
Braith, on the otherhand was beyond help. The orange dragon tore at the rocks above and around him, gouging massive holes in the walls of the cave that was almost his tomb. He continued to pull himself forward and tear at the rocks until the mountain began to shake again.
Voenth, now come back to his senses screamed aloud, "Everyone get out! The entire mountain is about to collapse!" screamed the elf.
Nidhog growled when he felt the mountain coming apart. He began to use his powers to tunnel his way out of the mountain and back into the skies above. There he would be safe, and there he would be able to potentially ambush the dragons and elf as they escaped the mass of falling boulders.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
OOC: lol voenth. Especially when it was getting so intense! Still sad though... poor little dragons...
IC: Rigel began heading away from the chamber, angling straight for the outside. However, a sudden barrage of spells careened into him, knocking him out of the air for a few moments before he could regain his composure. He muttered a rapid-fire set of spells to ward of the elf's magic, though the drain on his energy was larger than he expected. The elf was hitting him wildly with spell after spell, using so many different ones that the phoenix was forced to use a more general, and much more energy-consuming ward. He hastened his wingbeats, knowing that the farther he got, the safer he would be. Now was not the time to allow himself to be killed, though he was prepared for that outcome.
Na'ir recovered her breath, and rather than focus all of her attention on Rigel, she could only think to go after Zelyts. She launched herself off the pillar she had fallen onto, rapidly half-diving, half-flying to the floor of the cave and to the brown's body. She landed heavily, ignoring the painful jolt to her limbs as she stumbled over to her friend. Zelyts... she choked out, bending over him. She looked over to what had fallen from his jaws. It was a small, smooth brown stone. It could only be one thing. Tears falling from her eyes, Na'ir raced over and gently scooped up the stone, holding it protectively in her jaws for safekeeping. I'm sorry, Zelyts... I should have done more, she said softly. Suddenly, Voenth's voice rang out over the rumbling of the cave. Na'ir looked beneath them and realized that Braith was going to tear the cavern apart. Panicking, she began trying to drag Zelyts' body away, not wanting to leave him behind.
Phalynx finally burst out of the tunnel in an explosion of starlight and fire. She paused for a moment, panting. Rigel was already halfway to the surface, and Braith was ripping his way up. The cave was not going to hold for much longer. Voenth shouted a warning, and the silver looked around anxiously for her own daughter, knowing the first thing they had to do before she could go after the phoenix was get out of the cave. Na'ir was on the ground near Zelyts' body, trying to drag it away. Phal flew rapidly over to Voenth first. I will fly you out. Can you use any magic to help us carry Zelyts' body? I wouldn't feel right leaving it, she said, forcing her voice to sound strong despite the overwhelming grief that threatened to surface.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Voenth looked at the body of the young dragon and said, "No. We should leave him here leave him within the mountains he loved. He loved the caves, the silence, and even the darkness. Take his eldunari we may need it to calm Braith, but we cannot waste the time or energy to get his body out of the cave." said Voenth as he took one last look at the young dragon he had become so fond of and cast a spell to protect the body from decay and the small bugs and animals which might make a feast from him. Then he took power from Bascth and cast another spell. Then as if it were bubbling from the ground, what looked like liquid ruby rose. It soon enveloped the young dragon and hardened. Voenth smiled and said, "He would have liked that." then the elf fled the scene and ran toward the exit.
Braith contnued his rampage toward the top of the mountain. He was now breathing a powerful fire ahead of him, practically melting the stones to speed his progress.

Re: RPGC: Forgetting the Pain (moi'manin)
Phalynx nodded slowly and solemnly at Voenth's words, holding back tears. It shouldn't be this way... Zelyts was still so young, younger than her... he shouldn't be gone. Na'ir... come with us. We have to leave, she said as she landed next to her daughter, her voice exceedingly gentle. Na'ir turned to look at her, her large green eyes filled with tears. The sight nearly broke Phalynx's heart. She wrapped her neck around the blue's and gently pushed her away from Zelyts' body. Fly now. We have to get out of the mountain, she said, and her daughter obeyed. Phal took off after Alna'ir, racing out of the collapsing caves. She already saw the best path out of the mountain, and knew Na'ir saw it as well. Letting her daughter lead the way, Phal focused on scanning their surroundings as well as the mouth of the cave, for it would be just like their enemies to attack them by surprise as they tried to escape a collapsing cavern.
Rigel made it out of the caves, letting his wards wear off completely. He flapped to an adjacent ridge, perching under some low hanging rocks to rest for a few moments. The fight and the retaliation afterwards had left him somewhat exhausted, and he knew that the rest of the group would be seeking immediate revenge against him. Especially the brown dragon's father, who was at that moment tearing apart the mountain from the inside. The phoenix wondered if he would be able to strike a blow on the silver's child as well before the night was through, for he knew Nidhog was also somewhere nearby.
