Hey does anyone here have any tattoos?

I just got my first tattoo the other day, it was an interesting experience, it hurt like crazy. Didn't cry, I just held my own hand really hard. It's like that pinch you get when you get blood taken (hmmm...a needle pinch, who would have thought) except it happens over and over again. I guess my tattoo was more intricate than I thought.

It took 3 hours to complete it, most of the time was with a needle in my arm. When I was finished it felt like I did 1,000 pushups. My muscle was soooo sore, not to mention the skin. I bled a lot. I almost fainted too, everything got dizzy and starry...the tattoo artist stopped, gave me a break and a glucose pill. It did the trick.

Ya I have a strict policy that I wont be getting any tattoos in places that can't be covered easily in the professional world, especially because of the profession I plan to go into

Buuut. My 18th birthday present to myself will be the 1up and 2up mushrooms pixel-ated on my hips.

They may look good, but I will never get myself a tattoo. I don't want to be stuck with an image of how I felt when I was younger. You could say this is why I am trying a different hair style, I can change it afterwards.

I don't like tatoos, they stay with you for life, and I think their pointless. Also have one is against my religion so that could also be part of it lol.

this one took 13 adn half hours for it to be complete

i will get unlazy one day lol and take a pik of just two of mine but i have a dragon i got when i was 15 on my back then i got a lizard when i was 18 then i got a fairy on my foot when i was like well 18 also each one took about an hour each the one on my foot kinda hurt when he hit the nerves my whole leg started shaking and i couldnt stop it!!!!

I'm getting one of an anteater on my back.

The healing process stinks...the actual needlework is nothing compared to the constant itching of the scabbing and the peeling.

Anyone who's had a tattoo can you tell me how long this healing process will take? The first layer of scab has fallen off, now I have a kind of grayish flaky looking layer (not raised)

I know its very late but in my defense I was in Montana.
a 1up is red, a 2up is green thats the difference in the mushrooms.

caterpillar...I have shed my first layer of scab. Now it looks like i am peeling from a horrible sunburn, and there appears to be a layer underneath the layer that is currently pealing that is going to peal afterward.

I want it to be done...so I can get a second tattoo :p

Varden, Are you keeping it moisturized with plenty of lotion? Keeping it out of the sun and swimming pools/hot tubs.
Tattoos are actually very easy to mess up while they are in the healing process. Lotion and A & D ointment is very important

Yeah im getting my first tattoo tommorrow.

I haven't been using lotion, however. I have been moisturizing it with A&D ointment about 3 times a day.

here is a picture of my fairy that is on my foot this is the one that they hit a nerve and i couldnt stop shaking my food at all!! it only took about a lil over an hour and it cost me like 40 with a tip!!

Hitting a nerve would stink!!!

A little over an hour...40 bucks with a tip. Wow...I wish i could find an artist that cheap.

yeah that did hurt pretty bad!!

yeah he is really cheap he tattooed jesses leg for over 15 hours or 14 but w/e and he only charged him 550

but he done one of mine for free the deal was as long as he could take a picture of it and send it to a magazine!!

I got my second tattoo today.

It says "John 15 13" which means "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."

Being in the army that phrase means a lot to me, because it's something we all understand and accept when we join.

The inner arm definitely hurt more than the outer

wow cool nate!! shudders i cant imagine how bad that had to hurt!!

the way my arm was sitting, it only took a few moments for it to fall asleep...which was nice. It was a good natural pain killer.

I bleed a lot more afterwards, and it stung a lot more afterwards as well.

I got to thinking, and realized that it's about time that i get a third tattoo.

I drafted up an idea, and I would like some input.

Here is what I was thinking

My original idea was this



Then I decided to leave out sacrifice, at first. I'll probably get it added later.

I think i'm going to have the cross part take up most of my outer arm, and have the shading wrap around and stop about an inch away from the one that says John 15:13.

What do you guys think? I think i'm going to keep it black, have any better color ideas?
