I am getting into Archery,
Is there anyone here who likes it?

i am. its easy.

I like it,
Its really fun.
But my little brother loses the Arrows.

I own my own bow. I rock at archery.IT is a sport I love sports

I like it,
I need to get me a new bow though.
But my little brother keep shooting the arrows into the woods.
And he expects me to find them.

Archery rocks man. I've hit the bullseye many more times than anything else. So fun.

hmm well i hunt deer w/ a bow.. does that count?? lol but im pretty good with a bow

killing stuff for sport is wrong. Ripping up targets is ok though.

did i say i killed stuff, and when i do start killing, it will be real hunting, where i eat it, and hope to not get bird flu, but i mean, its the same as fishing

yes but you know how they get the meat you buy, first they hang a cow upside down with its feet bound, then they slit its throat and bleed it, then they cut it out, so i think its better for it to just die fast

I get the feeling they slit it's throat before they hang it up. Actually, I know for a fact they kill it quickly, cos I seen it.

ok, thats not how they do in america i dont think, because they do all that stuff while it is upside down and alive

nice. Just to be cruel or something, because there's much easier and cheaper ways.
Anyway, I think hunting for sport is wrong, but I guess if you're gonna eat it then that's a bit more ok. Still wrong, but better than stuffing it, or dumping it.

why is it wrong to kill say a deer, but ok to kill a cow

I dont find either right but we have to eat. I am an animal lover. We watched two baby deer grow up. I dont know if they were ever killed. MY whole family except one sis my mom and me hunt.

Back on topic.

First time I did it, I got all ten arrows on the bulls eye.

cool. First time, I got 50 shots in the hour and got 36 on the bullseye.

well firetongue i kill the dear then i eat them.. get their hides tanned so their are like blankets.. and you can still stuff a dear or if its a buck you can still mount it and eat the meat.. cuz all the do is remake it with fake stuff so it dont smell and rott

yes very much.. i shot a doe ( girl deer ) during rifel season.. right in the gugler ( that neck vein.. idk how to spell it ) and blood shot out of its neck and went into the snow about 5 feet away from where it was standing.. the blood was everywhere!! it was soo crazy cuz their was like 5in of snow on the ground and snow makes it look like their is alot of blood.. but it was crazy

But you don't need all that stuff. I'll bet you already have enough blankets and food, and why would you ever want a dead animal in your house? It's just disgusting. I watched a programme about taxidermy once, and it made me want to puke, but not because of how horrible it was, but because of how angry I was.

i love archery! its my fave sport and the only one i will play! when it comes around this season im gonna join, and then go to kentucky for nationals if my group can. last year someone tried to steal a bow from the nationals and we got kicked out. it was a newbie and we all had to get punished. im hoping to get my bow this christmas! i want a regular hunting bow and a long bow!

I think it is ok to kill animals,
I enjoy the taste of deer meat.
So if I REALLY wanted deer meat,
I would kill a deer.
But,
All of the mounting of heads?
No way!!!
I would hate to sit there and look at a decapitated head.
But as for the blankets,
If you have the skin it is a waste not to use them for something.
I say don't try to force on people what you believe to be wrong and right.
Because alll that does is cause a HUGE fight.

it's not fighting, it's debating, and what's all that saying: fight for your beliefs. Anyway, I always make it as my opinion putting: I think, or: I believe when I say it. Well, that's what I mean anyway.

well in michigan the deer population is wayyyyyyyyyyy over populated so its good to hunt or else the deer would starve and diesese would be spread between deer and then they would all die

Its a beautiful recurve bow.
But I think it would be too easy to break.
But I guess the used the all the time,
And never broke them.

oh.. well they hang them upside down by their back feet and then they slit the throats and then they let the blood drip out for a while ( my friend owns a cow farm and a slaughter house )

We did archery at camp. I got a bullseye and then couldn't hit the target again.

Funny how that happens. Once and a lifetime shot I guess...oh and may I say nice shot as well! I haven't done archery but I have always been interested in it. I doubt though I'd be very good at it anyway and I doubt I would ever get a bullseye!

i made a bow before it broke in half after my second arrow fired

I made a bow once, it worked ok for quite a long time, but the wood was too bendy, and the string kept getting looser.

ok, my parents wont let me hunt with a firearm, but they said its all right to hunt with a bow and arrow. i know little about archery. i know that you dont have to wear any orange, and you have to be super quiet and use scents and calls and stuff to get them to come into bow range. how far is bow range? let me know what you think about archery, and please explain in detail about everything that goes along with archery.

I told my mom I'd like to start doing archery and she laughed at me.

The Bass pro shop is a pretty good place and I can't really think of any better ones.

I love archery! Our gym teacher let us try it in Elementary school a few years ago and I got hooked on it. I haven't really been able to do it lately but I'm going to try and pick it up again. My dad gave me his old bow he used to hunt with so i should be set to go!
