Re: The quest of death
Faefnir chuckled at Fankor. Don't worry. That's only in a worse case scenario. The Stag should be able to lead us in the quickest and safest path. Just remember that we have to stay together. The forest has many magical traps and such that could seriously hurt us. We better land now. The forest is not too far away. Faefnir slowly started circling down towards the edge of the forest, where the Stag was waiting for them.

Re: The quest of death
" Let's go." Star said then launched into the air. Reb securly seated in on her back. Star dove for the mountains waiting for her friends to catch up. Woodrew kept pace with her. " Why are you so unfriendly?" He asked hurt. " Sorry. I'm just not happy after a battle." Star mumbled. " She's to shy to say that she dosen't like being separated from Faenfir." Reb said for her dragon. Star glared at her. " Nothing to be shy about." Woodrew said with amusement. Efriam laughed. " Hahaha laugh all you want. I'm leaving." Star said and then headed away from Woodrew. " I'm sorry." He called after her and sped up to her.

Eriel mounted Emrhyst and quickly took off after StarGazer. She looked at Efraim and Woodrew with dislike as she passed them. Emrhyst looked at the scar on StarGazer's chest. So....How is it?

Re: The quest of death
Occ. ughh they cut my sig.... they could of at least gave me a warning so i can get rid of the ones i want - Fankor Hopped off Laverra's back and walked to the forest edge. It was an amazing sight. The trees were enormous and so plentiful. In some spots it grew so close together that it created a wall. " Shall we get going," He asked. Laverra walked towards him and nudged him with the top of her head. " Would you like to ride a little," She asked him. " No im alright, thanks for the offer though. I think the walk will do me some good," Fankor answered back. " So this is basically the last strech to ellsmera then, by foot?," Fankor asked.-

Re: The quest of death
Whats wrong with everyone? I've never seen this much sorrow before. It comes from a large battle. So much death that only the strong willed can survive. Keralin bowed his head in reverence to the fallen.
OOC: in other words... pass

Re: The quest of death
Faefnir nodded his head. Yes it is. And it's a long stretch. But it will be well worth it. Ellesmera is a beautiful city. But we have to stay together. Just follow me and the Stag and we will get there safely.

Re: The quest of death
Star swooped low and dropped Reb on the ground next to Cobalt. Her rider climbed upon her horse and followed her dragon. Efriam also dropped to the ground and grabbed a horse and rode along side Reb. " So. Tell me about yourself." He said. Reb sighed. " Too much to tell." She said then kicked Cobalt faster to keep pace with the dragons. " It's better. But still painful." Star answered her friend. Looking at the scar.

Eriel breathed deeply as Emrhyst flew into the heat of the Beor desert. The familiar hideout standing so awkwardly and yet blending in perfectly.

Re: The quest of death
Occ. Can i just aske Aeraldi and I-L-S to trade spots.... It just makes the whole Rp easier to read since were in 2 different groups.
- " Well shall we get moving then," Fankor asked. Getting to ellsmera as fast as possible was the main goal, but sice there was no other way, taking a hike through the forest seemed nice. After all it was beautiful. The forests back home seemed like nothing compared to what stood before them. Laverra took the first step into the forest and Fankor followed, Weaving through the maze of trees.-

Re: The quest of death
Star let the air float under wings as she went higher, and soon she was suspened in air to where she didn't even have to flap her wings. She was contented exept for being away from Faenfir. She hated that. Reb continued to ignore Efriam as he talked to her, and finaly he asked, " Why aren't you listening?" He asked hurt. Reb sighed. " I don't feel like talking. Star is depressed and I feel depressed too." Reb answered.

Re: The quest of death
Eriel shuddered as she heard the same harsh drumbeats in the distance from where she was standing in the cave. Her elves had raised a wall and were all assembled below it. Emrhyst landed next to her rider.
OOC: Pass turn.
Just to get things straight,
Feafnir and Laverra are heading to Ellesmera. Star, Efriam and I are now in the stronghold waiting for the next assault.
Right?

OOC: might as well as the story's not particularly going anywhere. Also pass since I don't know what you're planning.
IC: Looks like we're going to fight. Keralin said to Aelir. I hope you remember your lessons. Oh please, you know I'm the one that going to be looking after you. Aelir casually said back. Keralin just smiled at that.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: now, it's my turn.
Faefnir suddenly stopped when the Stag stopped. Lavarra, wait. The Stag says we are close. He says the only way we can gain entry to Ellesmera by one way, and that way leads to the Guardian. He is the only one who can allow us entry into the city. Let me do all the talking OK? The Stag trotted beside him as they got close to the road and the Guardian.
Meanwhile, back at the mountain stronghold in the Hadarac, draconian war drums could be heard in the distance.

Eriel sighed. "Okay, just like at home, swords men, front rank; archers, second; Pikemen, third; spell-weavers, fourth." Immediately the elves were up and about. When the whole wall was filled, Eriel found she still had some left. She sent a quater of them to the inner entrance of the stronghold and the others she positioned infront. "The elves are ready!" She shouted up to Star Gazer as some of the elves blew horns.

- Laverra waited for the stag and Faefnir to pass and then followed closely behind behind. Fankor, who was now riding on Laverra's back, could faintly make out someone standing in the distance. " That must be him, right," he asked.-

Re: The quest of death
Faefnir nodded his head. He saw the Guardian smile as they approached, then stepped aside. The city of Ellesmera was a bunch of hustle and bustle. Everyone was clearly preparing for war. The children carried iron, the husbands made armor and weapons, and the mothers sang bows and arrows from the trees. It reminded Faefnir all-too-much of the muster of the Riders during the Fall. He pushed those thoughts out quickly. Everyone, stay close to me. I know how to get to the palace. Faefnir continued walking, invisible in all the commotion and chaos.

Re: The quest of death
Eriel stood on the wall, a deadly chill and flame in her eyes. She thought of the times of her anger in an attempt to make the flames on her eyes touch her pupils, she nodded, satisfied and held her anger's level. The wind around her howled, her sword was coated in two torrents of water which overlapped each other in an intricate pattern of vines and leaves. The tiara upon her head was clearly visible to all around her. Harsh warcrys in the distance, wardrummers pounding away, the sound of spear and sword upon shield dully heard in every elf and human's ear. They were coming ever closer as the seconds passed, coming to kill, obliberate, and induce disaster.

Re: The quest of death
- Fankor watched all the elves preparing for war. " Eriel sure did a good job," He thought to himself. "I thinking just the same thing," Laverra answered him back. Elsmera was bueatyful, but Fankor thought it would look even more bueatiful if everyone wasnt rushing around getting ready to prepare themselves for a very harsh battle. Fankor remembered meeting back up with star and Faefnir and Eriel back in the mountains... seeing the rage of those Draconian creatures. It was a tough battle for everyone then, yet that wasnt even a quarter of what was to come. To make things worse... many men elves and dragons were already lost to the fight,... was every going to be ready for the wave that was still to come?-

Re: The quest of death
Star Gazer raised her head to the wind. " They are here!" She said as she picked up a sound behind her. A draconian launched onto her back. She grabbed at it with her teeth. But it was latched on and dug it's sword into her back scales, and wedged it between them making Star Gazer howl. Reb climbed up behind it and held her sword to it's neck and then decapitated it. " You filthy beast. That's for hurting my dragon." Reb said angrily and pulled the sword out. Star growled and kicked the dead body away from her then growled at more draconians and then fell backwards as a horde pushed her backwards. Reb rolled and dove out from underneath her dragon and shot fire at the on coming draconians. Star clawed and bit at them, killing many.

Re: The quest of death
Keralin was stunned by the look of the enemies. Draconians here? He thought to Aelir. Then they all will die! Said Aelir fiercely. Keralin agreed and charged at his foes, both swords drawn. The first draconian he found he unleashed a furious attack and dropped into one of his learned stances. After that he attacked with all the might be could muster.
Aelir stood back from Keralin letting him attack in his own frenzy. Aelir kept an eye for pouncing draconians and either batted them out of the air or crushed them within his teeth.

Re: The quest of death
Faefnir could feel the battle occurring back at his home in the desert. He prayed the Stronghold Mountain could hold back the ferocious draconian hordes. He didn't show his concern to Fankor or Lavarra. Come. This way. I'm certain the queen will be anxious to see you both. He led them to the palace, which seemed to morph perfectly with the trees, forming walls and doorways. The guards saw him and Fankor coming. They smiled and waved the two dragons and Rider through. Faefnir led them to the reception room, where Islanzadi, Queen of the Elves, would most likely be. Faefnir led the way through the long room towards the form of Islanzadi sitting on her throne. The raven, Blagden, and the werecat, Maude, sat on either side of her. She smiled at them as Faefnir bowed his majestic head to her. With his shrill voice, the raven shouted "Wyrda!" Faefnir rose. Islanzadi spoke to them, her voice rich with wisdom and strength. "Welcome to Ellesmera, Faefnir the Great. Who are these other two and what is their business?" I'll let them do the talking, your majesty. Faefnir touched minds with Fankor and Lavarra. Well, talk to her. After all, this is your quest, not mine.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: Okay... so I guess I'll go.
IC: The elven spell-weavers on the wall watched the approuching draconians with an emotionless expression. They raised their hands and, just like they did back home, lifted a great body of water which crashed down upon the draconians. Eriel laughed, bloodlust came upon her as she saw the army behind the wall. "Take command." She whispered to a lieutenant with her mind as she plunged her dagger through a draconian's bosom, the wind about her built up speed and pushed the lifeless body away from her. She then proceeded to the other elves.
Emrhyst growled as hooks were swung onto her legs, punturing her claws. Filthy beasts. She roared out at them and swung her tail, killing some. As she did this, a draconian stabbed at her eye, causing blood to leak out. Both rider and dragon cringed.

Re: The quest of death
EDIT...- whats going on where are you guys in here and on suicide mission?????????????????? - Fankor started to open his mouth to speak to the elven queen, but before a word could leave his mouth he felt Laverra touch his mind. " It's ok Fankor I will speak to her," She said as she touched Queen Islanzadi's mind. " Queen Islanzadi, weve come here on a very important quest, so important, that it will determine if we will win or lose this war... My mother's rider was an elf. His last name was Nietziot, and i was wondering if there were any decendents from his family that kney him and my mother, or even if you could answer my question for them. I need to find my Father. According to my mother who came to us in a spirit form, he knows of a weakness that the draconians have that could wipe them all out,"Lavarra said as she waited for a reply. " Well Laverra, of course im familiar with the family name... Riders are one of the most respected and well known people among us elves. I knew your Mother and her rider as close friends, and let me say, your mother was a brilliant dragon. She and her rider were an excellent team, as im sure you and your rider are as well," Laverra and Fankor both let out a smile with a nod while still listening to Islanzadi," ,But I'm afraid i have no idea on where your father may be. Your mother's rider, however has a sister who was very close to her... Maybe she can help you out," Islanzadi finished. Laverra nodded again ," Yes hopefully she can... where might we find her then," she asked. " She lives not to far from her acually..., just walk out this way and walk your way down about fifteen trees, and the sixteenth tree on the right side is hers," as she finished she pointed to a long hall that eventually exited back outside. " Thank- you so much queen Islanzadi," Laverra said again as they started to walk down the hall.-

Re: The quest of death
" You filthy beast!" Reb said as she cut of more of their heads. " This isn't working fast enough!" Star Gazer called to her rider. " What do you want me to do? I can't kill much faster. I'm not a dragon." Reb said back angrily as more attacked her. She reeled backwards as an axe slammed into the ground in front of her, making stones fly everywhere. One struck her in the head and knocked her off balance. Reb dropped her sword and fell onto her knees as a dagger slammed into her back. She pitched forwards, just as Zantya took over. Fire exploded everywhere and then Reb came back into control, completely healed, she threw fire at anyone coming close to her.

Re: The quest of death
"Thats it! Your kind shall not destroy this planet any more!" Keralin yelled fiercely at the Draconians. He jumped off the wall and into the onslaught of warriors charging. Impaling two Draconians who had the bad luck of getting in his way. He spoke quickly, almost unintelligibly, with magic flowing around his form and into his swords. Spinning around with his swords outstretched he cut off the heads of nearly ten Draconians while the magic coming off his blade impaled itself into seven others. Recovering quickly he jumped at the closest draconian, his swords flying almost at the speed of sound. His face showed no mercy or regret. Only rage.
Aelir watched as his rider started slaughtering the Draconians with a speed like none other. He shared his rider's rage against these beasts, although he didn't understand why. Aelir breathed fire across a platoon of Draconians who had decided to creep up on him. He swung his claws batting down any vile creatures that stood in his way.

Re: The quest of death
Faefnir bowed to the queen, then turned to leave with Fankor and Laverra. Very well handled, young ones. We are now one step closer to finding your father. The Stag smiled at him. But, this is where I must leave you. From this point onward, you are truly on your own. I predict an entrance to a realm from which none have ever returned. The sister will tell you to go to the Spine, outside of Kuasta. It is there that you will find the remains of your father and the next clue. After that, I cannot see farther. All I see is darkness and uncertainty in your future. So stay on your guard and watch for the Ra'zac. I will leave the Stag with you. If anything should come up and you seem confused, talk to him and he can relay the problem to me. Good luck to the three of you. Our fate rests in your hands. He then took off from Du Weldenvarden and angled towards Stronghold. It did not take him long to reach the battle. He roared at the top of his lungs, then knocked several draconians off a wall they were trying to climb. When the archers took aim at him, he roared loudly when the arrows were launched at him, causing them to drop helplessly to the ground.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: I know. I live in a different timezone... You can't expect me to reply 4 in the morning can you? I need to sleep!
IC: Eriel frowned then slammed her bow into the abdomen of a Draconian. She drew an arrow, plunged it into his eye then shot it at one behind him, before kicking the wounded draconian over the wall. She looked around quickly then jumped down the stairs. She cartwheeled to the side as a sword swiped the air, then kicked the draconian away from her.
Emrhyst roared in pain and slammed her tailspike into the head of one.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: It's my go now IC: " Damn." Reb muttered as another axe sliced the ground in front of her, knocking her off her feet. The draconian launched into the air and landed above Reb, holding the axe poised above her chest. She looked up into the bleak eyes that stared back at her. Not seeing evil, rather regret at having to kill her. She looked deeper with the help of her shade eyes and saw that this draconian wasn't willingly attacking her. Something held it bound. " Another Shade." Zantya said answering her unasked question. " Leth." They both said at the same time as Zantya sensed her sister near. " Risking having her own king killed in this battle. She has to much lust for power." Reb said as she stood and the draconian instantly moved away from her. " Come and fight me here! If you use these beasts, no offense, to murder us, then why can't you finish the battle yourself. Your sword would surely kill me. I have cuts all over me and my energy drains fast. I promise that my dragon won't interfere. Come fight Leth." Reb taunted, knowing the shade wouldn't pass up a chance to kill Reb and Zantya. Star Gazer watched as Leth apeared right behind her rider. She tried to warn Reb but all connection between them was blocked off. " She swore by the ancient language I wouldn't interfere." Star Gazer snarled as she looked down helplessly as Reb was knocked to the ground by a blow to the back of her leg. But her rider was swift and she bounced back up and sliced Leth's sword arm open, black blood pooring to the ground. Reb gasped as pain surged through her head, but she was still standing when Leth tried to strike another blow to Reb's already weakened skull. She parried the blow and drew a dagger with precision learned over time, and threw it with deadly aim. But the shade dodged it easily, when a human or elf would have died. Leth drew her own black bladed dagger and threw it at Reb, and Reb dodged it with the same precision. Leth snarled angrily as she ran at Reb, her sword out for the kill. OOC: this should create strife! if anyone dosen't like my post just tell me and I will edit it.

Re: The quest of death
Occ. acually it was my turn lol oh well.... who ever goes after star go after me for this turn... - Fankor a laverra walked through elsmera untill they reached the tree Queen Islanzadi spoke of. They found that who they were looking for was sitting on the bottom few steps of the tree. She was wistling a little tune until se spoted Laverra and Himself. " You must be Fankor and Laverra...," she said. " Yes, we are, but how do you know our names...," Fankor asked. " Well I was Told so by my sister. She came to me in a dream. She also did mention why you were coming, although it wasnt too hard to figure it out," she said back. "[i] We were told by a Friend that we may be able to locate my father in the Spine, do you know if that is true," Laverra asked. " That is correct, But the Spine is a very dangerous Place. Even Galbatorix Himself fears to enter the cursed woods... That is why I am going to come with you. You see, after I got word you were traveling here to Elsmera, I scuried your progress on the way here, and i see you are not too educated in the ways of magic. I thought it would be of great help to you if i were to tag along," She answered. " That would be much appriciated," Fankor said. " Now lets get some rest, and we will leave first thing tommarow morning. I had set up the riders keep for you two when I heard you were coming. Go rest up and meet me at the edge of the forest in the morning....And by the way, My name Kiara." " Well thank you for the place to stay and for your aid Kiara... We will meet you in the morning then," said Fankor as he nodded to Laverra as they walked to the keep to get some sleep. They will need it for the long trip ahead of them.-

Re: The quest of death
OOC: That would be me
IC: Every time Keralin struck down one of the Draconians he sapped the power right from its dying body and redirected it into his sword so that it would kill another. His fury became his bloodlust, and his bloodlust became his strength. He held no mercy for these creatures, no doubts, no regret. Nothing but pure hatred of their entire species. He could never forgive, nor could he forget.
Aelir was frightened by Keralin's reaction to these beasts. He couldn't even detect his rider's thoughts anymore. Something was fuelling his anger but it wasn't by an outside force, it came from within. Aelir suspected something had occurred when he was still in his egg but had never thought that it still haunted him. Just watching Keralin made Aelir realise that he didn't really know that much about his rider.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: OK
Faefnir landed behind the gate and went into one of the rooms that branched off of the main hall. He unlocked the door and quickly rushed inside. He looked at a giant blue stone that was set in the center of the room and spoke several words. When he got back to the top of the wall, he smiled as he saw that it was working. The sand surrounding the mountain fortress started swirling around like a giant whirlpool. He roared in triumph as he saw some of the draconians taking off and try to fight in the air while others got swallowed downwards and were crushed by the sand. He saw Keralin down there almost getting enveloped himself (OOC: sorry about the gm). Aelir! Get your Rider back on the wall, quickly!

Re: The quest of death
Eriel looked around wildly. "Gah, nice trap Feafnir, your gonna get us all killed." She said softly just as Emrhyst lifted her out of the sand and onto the wall, the blood from her eyes adding to the blood from Eriel's wounds. Eriel sighed and calmed herself before she passed out, the rage fueling her was reaching its max, and the flames were almost beginning to touch her eye lids. "This is it I guess, the end of the Draconians." She laughed then stood silent as she saw Reb and Leth. Emrhyst roared and flew towards them.

Re: The quest of death
Star Gazer dove towards her rider only to be stopped short by the most powerful sheild ever. So powerful she doubted Faefnir could get in. Nothing from the air or the ground could get in. Star Gazer roared in fury but could only watch as the ground fell away from her rider and Leth, but they continued to fight. Reb jumped back as pieces of the ground she was standing on began to pull her under. Leth laughed and swung her sword, but also felt the ground pull her under. She cursed and jumped up and away from it. She swung her sword as she tried to keep from going under. Leth dodged the blow, and sliced Reb across the chest, letting blood flow into the sand. Reb ignored the pain, she had learned to hold in your emotions from Zantya, and right now she kept her face even as Leth swung her sword more. Reb dodged a blow and cut Leth's leg to the bone. Leth fell off her feet and into the sand, being semi pulled uner, until she dug in her sword and hauled herself back out. Reb wasn't expecting it and Leth threw her dagger and it slammed into Reb's gut, forcing her to the ground. Leth wailed in triumph and swung her sword in for the death blow, but before she did Zantya took over and grabbed the sword out of the air and twisted her sister's arm, withstanding the dagger, until Leth was on the ground and unable to stop Zantya from pulling it out. Her healing powers stunted for the moment, both Reb and herself had to endure the pain. " Give it up Zantya. Those wounds from this sword will knock you out soon!" Leth called. " Probably, but until then stand up and fight." Zantya called as the ground swallowed her sister up and herself. Then something that hadn't happened before happened. As their breath was stolen by the sand, Reb and Zantya merged. No longer being two beings in one body. Just Reb, but Reb was no longer human. She was a shade. Zantya no longer exsisting, she was Reb, and Reb was Zantya.

Re: The quest of death
- Fankor and Laverra were up the next morning and walking to meet Kiara at the edge of Elsmera. The sun was just starting to rise, and the city was already filled with commotion. As they came into eye contact with Kiara, Fankor and laverra both saw the distress on her face. " Has something happened," Fankor asked. Kiara sighed as she began to speak. " There has been another comfirmed attack in the mountains. Some five thousand plus, Draconians Attacked there yesturday morning. The worst part is our elven scouts have sighted another army of at least 15 thousand Draconians heading that way as we speak... I don't know how they are going to be able to hold off. we sent some reenforcement spellcasters that way, but i think the best thing to do is for us to find your father... and quick," Kiara finished and Fankor could only hope that every was ok over in the mountains. " Right then we best get going... Will you ride with me," Fankor asked. " No... it will only slow us down. I have kyth...," Kiara answered back as she made a loud, high pitched wistle. A horse came speeding out of the distance with incredible speed. " Kyth here, is bredd for agility. He is one of the fastest, if not the fastest horse in all of Alegasia. Im not saying we can ride as fast as Laverra,... but we won't be to far behind you. I want you two to fly as fast as you can towards the Spine... It'll be about a two days ride from here, but ill keep in contact with you two through our minds. Now lets get going, before anymore damage is done!" Without further question, Fankor hopped onto Laverra's back, and they lept into the air.-

Re: The quest of death
Keralin ignored the sand blowing around his feet and across his face, he was determined to kill as many of these beast as his body would allow. He attacked an assault upon his mind crushing the petty defenses around its mind and drawing all energy away from their body, mind and soul. Although whilst in the mind of the draconian magician he felt its fear, it absolute terror at being destroyed. Keralin's actions slowed as he gained some distance away from the soldiers and looked back at the ones he had slaughtered. So many corpses being covered in the sand. Did they all have the same fear? Keralin wondered. He didn't have time to ponder the question as his helmet was crushed against his head, forcing him to the ground. He reached his hand up to his head, and saw his own blood for the first time in years. Do I even deserve to have the blood in my veins?
Aelir heard the cry of Faefnir through the crashes of metal and the twisted screams of beasts and man. He could do nothing while his rider was in his fury and had to watch as his rider as he killed mercilessly. It was almost a miracle when Keralin slowed and stopped. He felt his rider's defenses around his mind weaken allowing anyone with a magical ability to stroll in and take it. Aelir touched his rider's mind and heard his thoughts. A draconian ran at the distracted rider with a large hammer and strike him across the temple before Aelir could move. If his mind had been fully connected to Keralin's he would have been unable to move. Aelir heard Keralin's last remark to himself and answered for him; Of course you do! You deserve every single drop, because without it you could not be the person you are now. Now get up and show the rest of the world that you are here, and that you hurt with them all!
Keralin stared at his swords, at the craftsmanship used to create them. He had created these beautiful weapons, he had created many things. He had done many things and he had to survive so he could do many more honorable deeds. Get in here now Keralin the sands will envelop the castle soon! Keralin heard through the pain. He realised he couldn't see very far, he had to use the magic concealed within to save himself. He drew energy from the metal in his armor and ran as fast as he could for the safety of the walls. He scaled a ladder from the Draconians so quickly that even though the ladder was shaking and on the verge of being blown away he was able to maintain perfect balance. He launched himself as far as he could manage with the energy he had left.
Aelir caught his rider as he threw himself into the air in his teeth, using a care that rivaled a mother's care for their child.

Re: The quest of death
Faefnir saw Reb being pulled under. Somehow, Star couldn't get to her. Losing Reb would mean losing Star! His instinct imediately changed to fight. He leaped off the wall and into the sand whirlpool. He was pulled under immediately, his mass and momentum contributing to the swallowing. He tried to put on the breathing spell before he was pulled under, but he was too late. Some sand entered his lungs and he was just able to get his mouth closed. Even with his massive strength, it was hard for him to "swim" through the whirlpool. He slowly snaked his way through the sand and kept his sharp eyes out for Reb or Zantya. His breath was losing, and he could feel Star's connection breaking. He used even more strength than before to slither through the sand. He kept some energy in reserve so he could leap out of the sand and back onto the wall. He found Reb, but she looked different. Almost as if she was a shade now. It wasn't Zantya, but she still looked like a shade. He decided to get her out now and ask questions later. With one more mighty kick, he forced himself through the sand and grabbed Reb. He slowly felt his breathing being forced out of him and Star was almost gone. He just managed to angle up and leap out of the whirlpool before he suffocated to death. When he got back on the wall, he looked at Star gazer. She was almost dead, her breathing extremely slowed. Faefnir coughed some of the sand out of his lungs, then started pressing Reb with the back of his talon to try to get her breathing again and force some of the sand out. Everyone looked at him as he tried dearly to save the life of their leader who held off the draconians at Stronghold. The drama lasted for nearly an hour.
OOC: I'll leave it to you whether or not I revive her, Star.

Re: The quest of death
Eriel ran over to Star, "Wake up Star." She said quietly. Emrhyst snorted,If this is some kind of trick Star, you're so dead. She roared into her ear, and only achieved silent growls. Okay.. its not a trick. Emrhyst nudged her friend. Eriel frowned and placed her hands on Star's chest. "This will probably kill me." Eriel frowned then smiled as Emrhyst merged minds with her rider. "No, it won't." Eriel said, Emrhyst's own voice coming from her mouth instead. Heill Eriel whispered then started drawing on Emrhyst's gem. "Try using magic Feafnir, or have you forgotten?" She said while trying to revive Star.

Re: The quest of death
Star Gazer heard her friend, but no reply formed on her lips as her eyes slowly lost their life-like shean. Now they gazed empty up at th sky once more, not getting to see the stars of her name sake as she died, the black of her gem fading on Faefnir's chest as she did. Taking her rider into the darkness with her, but only she went to death. Magic would do no good, not now. Star Gazer slowly slipped into the unknown, going to meet her maker, God. She sighed as the last of her life was drained from her body." Don't cry for me Faefnir. I will be back again. Another day." Star Gazer said into her Mate's mind as both she and Reb were sucked under a rolling wave of blackness, dragging them farther from the ones they loved, only Star Gazer was gone Reb stayed attached to her body. Star Gazer lifted away not to rise again. Reb woke gasping for air, she was sitting on an empty void. She wasn't dead, for she could see everything from her own eyes, but not her own eyes. She wasn't in her body, she was on the outside-looking-in. She was startled to not feel Zantya's welcoming and comforting presence anymore. Then a voice whispred to her. " We are one, no longer are we two beings. But one whole." And Reb recognized Zantya's voice and then everything came rushing back to her. Everything, feeling, sight, seeing, smell, touch. Pain, and loss yet she didn't understand what she had lost until she sat up and stared into Faefnir's eyes and saw the black gem, as lifeless as the black form not far from her. " Star Gazer!" Reb cried as she ran to her dragon and fell to her knees by her dragon. " I came back! Why didn't she?" Reb demanded of no one in particular as tears of furry blurred her vision and fell onto Star but then rolled off her scales to the ground. Her dragon didn't respond to her, nor did she look at Reb any more. The loving protective, and caring being that had been part of Reb's life for far to short a time, was gone. Reb didn't care who heard. She wailed and beat at Star Gazer's side. " You can't leave me. You can't!" She said knowing, somehow that the vault of souls would do no good.

Re: The quest of death
OCC... hmm This beefs up the story a little... I wonder where this stoy is gunna go next... - On their flight to the spine, Kiara took them on a path that did not lead to far towards the mountains were all the fighting was going on. Fankor and laverra were flying swiftly, and just Like Kiara said, She and Kyth were trailing right behind. All of a sudden, Fankor got a horrible feeling in his gut. He didn't know what it was, but all he knew was it made him feel terrible. It sickened him even more to hear what he heard next. It was very faint, more like it was in his mind more than anything. All he could make out were slight screams which seemed to sound as if someone was in great pain. He heard it again, only this time... louder. He didnt need to hear anymore. He knew it was Reb, and he didnt even need to think twice on what happened. A tear rolled down his face as he felt Laverra touch his mind. " Little one, I know how you feel. It sickens me to hear this as well, but we know whos falt it is, and the only way to stop it is if we find my father. I think we should keep Star Gazer in our thoughts, But we must focus on our mission. Then we can take revenge for Star Gazer out on the filthy Beasts." Fankor nodded his head as he knew Laverra was absolutely right. There flight continued... Drawing ever so nearer to the Spine...-

Re: The quest of death
OOC: sorry, Aeraldi. I have to respond to this.
Faefnir felt the life leave Star gazer. He hyperventilated a little bit, then more ferociously breathed air into her lungs. But it wouldn't do any good. He shuddered a bit, then held Star gazer's head close to his chest. He allowed tears to flow out of his deep blue eyes and he roared loudly, sorrowfully, for his beloved mate. He pushed away any attempts to comfort him and continuously held her head close to his chest. When the tears finally stopped, a new emotion came alongside his sorrow: anger. And it came swiftly, without warning. He snarled, then allowed his anger to swallow him. His eyes became red. But that wasn't the only thing that happened to him. He grew larger, his talons and teeth grew longer. He became extremely frightening. When his growth stopped, he shuddered, then roared loudly, his anger and sorrow fueling it. He took the gold gemstone out of Star's scales and clenches it in his hands. The stone got absorbed into his hand, further fueling his anger and sadness. He roared, then leaped off the wall and headed east to where the draconian army fled. He quickly found the camp where the remnants were. He landed in the center and roared so loudly, the people at the mountain could hear him. He slaughtered anything that got in his way, he didn't care if it was draconian, human, or elf. His rage was unstoppable now. Nothing in all of Alagaesia and beyond could stop his rampage.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: Thats fine, but I'm gonna need to introduce an old friend.
Keralin lay in Aelir's jaw, slowly being let down. He hadn't the energy to move, nor even to feel. He was appalled at what he had did, for a few seconds he even hated himself. Aelir tried his best to comfort him, but he knew that Keralin needed to be alone. He lowered Keralin to the floor and let him walk away. Aelir listened to the goings on of the others. He was stunned by the sudden loss of Star Gazer. Then he mourned, letting tears fall from the loss of another dragon.
Aeraldi was sitting in the fields of grass, enjoying the simple lifestyle and reprieve from all the others. That was until he heard Faefnir's roar of pain. He took off suddenly and headed to where the roar had come from. He felt Faefnir's rage, and knew that it would be disastrous if anything was in the way. He was soon there but the rampage was already in full swing. Faefnir was killing all of the innocent survivors. Faefnir stop, I implore you! Killing these innocents will not make you feel better, it will only increase your pain. Don't make me have to change to stop you! Aeraldi sent desperately to the enraged dragon.

Re: The quest of death
Eriel let her tears drip onto Star Gazer then knelt beside Reb. She placed a hand on her friend's shoulder, tears still falling, her eyes now took on a different color shade altogether. While only Star and Feafnir had ever seen her eyes while she was sad, they had never really seen it when she was mourning. Eriel looked up and stared at the black dragon in front of her. Her eyes now a light sky-blue. She punched the ground, cracking it and tearing the skin on her knuckles. "Star Gazer!" She shouted into the air.
Emrhyst roared in sorrow for her friend. She looked down at her and nudged Star gazer softly, half expecting her to suddenly open her eyes and go, "Gotcha!" It never came though. Emrhyst grit her teeth then roared both a forest dragon's and a mountain dragon's roar, her heart-beat picking up speed as her sorrow echoed in the hearts of the other dragons who joined in. Emrhyst frowned, snarling, then flew off after Feafnir, her tears started falling mid-air, raining down upon the others below. You will pay, every single, filthy, disgusting, murderous creatures that you are! She roared into the air, her eyes now sky-blue with green flames licking it. She started to breathe heavily and in anger, she plunged her claws into a draconian who dared to mock her. Her usual calm self now distorted beyond recognition by her sorrow and rage, she killed every elf that dared to get in her way, wrecking havoc in a bandit's convoy nearby to vent her anger.

Re: The quest of death
OOC: I'm bringing Teranor. IC: Reb ignored her friend as she stroked her dragon's neck, not caring, or noticing that the tears that fell from her eyes were black and that the cuts all over her were bleeding black blood. She knew she wasn't human anymore, but she didn't care to tell anyone this. So she just wept until a squeak broke through her pain as she looked up and saw a little yellow bundle fall from the sky and land next to Star Gazer. She recognized Teranor. She instantly jumped up wiping her tears from her eyes. She ran in between the little dragon no bigger than her wolf, and Star Gazer. " Why is mom sleeping durring a battle? Can I wake her up?" Teranor asked, completely oblivious to the fact that Star Gazer wasn't moving or saying anything. He made a move to jump on Star." No Teranor stop! Your mom needs her rest, let her lie there. Why are you here? I thought you were at the mountain with the other dragons. Why have you come?" Reb asked quickly, not giving him time to argue." I came to see Star and Faefnir. Mom and dad." Teranor answered, then it dawned on him that there was a lot of black blood around his mother, and that Reb had recently been crying. He shook his head, trying not to realize what he feared was right. He looked at Star Gazer. " Mommy?" He asked in a voice that made him seem helpless to Reb as he stared at the lifeless form of Star Gazer the great. Then it finally hit him that his mother wasn't sleeping but dead. " Mother!" He wailed so loudly that Reb cringed at the sound and then before she could stop him, he launched himself at his mother. Reb let more black tears fall to the earth as Teranor began to weep the tears of a dragon, and she knew that his pain must be greater than her own. She cried harder as he cried, " Father!" And Reb hoped that single cry could bring Faefnir out of his blind rage.

OOC: Not really, It never said it was before they were born, and besides it would totally ruin it if I had to take him out

Re: The quest of death
yes... lol, my internet went out for a few days.... no idea why and im very sorry....
- The flight to the spine was very quiet. nothing was said after news of the death of Star Gazer. ITs was starting to get dark now and Fankor spotted a nice place to make camp. " Kiara, should we make camp, its getting dark and theres a nice spot for camp right down there in those trees," Fankor said. " Yes, we might as well, we are about to the spine, and it would be almost impossible to navigate it in the dark," Kiarra answered back as she directed kyth into a small circle of trees. Lavara swoop down and landed right next to to them and dropped off Fankor. " Ill be back little one im going to hunt me a nice deer," Laverra said to Fankor's mind. Fankor just nodded. Laverra lept into the air and was gone. Kiara was occupied by brushing down Kyth. Fankor sighed as he sat on a a nearby rock. " I guess ill go get some firewood and try to find us something to eat," Fankor said as he stood up again. " That would be nice, thank-you Fankor," Kiara answered back," and i will take first watch tonight, you look tired and you need your sleep for tommarow." Fankor nodded and then he was gone.-

Re: The quest of death
OOC: I have to wait for I-L-S to respond to Aeraldi so he passes.
Please Faefnir, hear my words! The power you have gained from your anger can be used differently! Don't let it consume you!
Keralin entered the castle, listening to the screech of dying lives and twisting metal. He didn't care. What is the point in living if I cannot even abide by the rules I set for myself? He stared at his sword, wondering if he should impale himself upon it. A flash of memory went through his mind at that instant, of over two hundred years ago when he thought the exact same thing. The answer was simple, he had devised this answer himself and swore to stay by it. He said to himself again, "Taking that route is the easy way. What good will my sacrifice have if nobody knows it even happened? There is forgiveness in this world for those who seek it, but redemption comes at the price of servitude to preserving life. While there is breath in this body I will save the lives of those I can." Those words didn't make him feel any better, but it helped him grasp the will to live.
Aelir mourned the death of Star Gazer more ferociously than he would have thought. He understood now why it was so hard to see someone die, when he would have counted them as a friend. Someone of his own kind was lying without breath just a small distance away. There is no glory to be had in war, no matter who you are. He thought to himself.
