Her scar burned madly, and the sensation drove the elf to her knees. She turned to look at the Shade-dragon and saw a streak of shadow slithering across the sands towards her. It was too fast. The shadows leaped forwards and crashed onto her throat, strangling and crushing her voice box. Emrhyst roared as the pain traversed across their mental link. Before Eriel could react, the shadows had wrapped itself around her torso and was starting to crush her ribs. The elf's eyes were wide and close to tearing, her mouth was open in flesh-rending spasms of pain, weakening the spell she had cast on the sands and allowing Tamar to break free. _________________ Roleplaying Characters :: Eriel & Emrhyst Gryfendel Alcioraell |

Re: A Whole New World When he saw that Ecylon was safe, he returned his attention back to Tamar. The red dragoness was attempting to kill Eril with her shadows, and Eschelon could not have that. He roared angrily and flew as fast as his great size, as well as wings could carry him to the red dragon. He roared angrily and sent a red inferno straight at the dragoness.
Tamar saw the tan dragon coming at her, but did not have time to completely dodge the fire that was sent at her. She hissed in pain and was forced to use her shadows to stop the tan dragon from doing any more damage. Re: A Whole New World Solarae watched as Elcyon lost consciousness, and she allowed her fiery cage to dissipate into the heated air, much like the sand that was whipped up. The flames around her dissolved as well, and the orange dragoness shook herself with a loud huff of breath. Whew. That was a bit tiring. She'd better be grateful later, she said with a grumble, but then laughed, belying her lack of seriousness. She glanced over at Tamar, who was being driven off by Eschelon's flames. Eriel looked in pain, so Solarae trotted over with a look of concern. You alright? Those shadows looked pretty nasty, she said in a worried voice.

Re: A Whole New World Eriel fell forwards, dashing her forehead against a stone.
The elleth brought her hands to her throat as she hurled blood from her mouth. Eyes still wide in pain, the elleth's hands glowed green as she hastily mumbled a healing spell to salvage her voice box. I'll live. Eriel told Sol grimly using her mind, ignoring the blood dripping from a cut on her forehead. Eriel groaned and slowly pulled herself off the sand, smiling gratefully when Solarae offered a talon. Rolling up her dress, Eriel placed her right palm over her still burning scar and started a spell to relieve her of a little of the pain. Re: A Whole New World Elcyon felt dizzy when she came to. Everyone had been out of breath, as though they were fighting a battle she had apparently not taken part of.
What's going on? Is everyone alright? she asked, looking around quizzically. There was a part of her that within her heart she felt cold and hard, as though she had done something wrong. When she noticed how exhausted Solarae appeared to be, El raised an eyeridge. I can't remember a thing. Re: A Whole New World Solarae smiled as she helped Eriel to her feet, but her eyes betrayed her worry. The elf had taken quite a beating. She turned to Elcyon as the black dragoness came to, and rolled her eyes at Eschelon. Don't worry about it, El. I trapped you in a fire cage, so you didn't do anything too horrible. And I wouldn't let Esch do anything to hurt you. Are you going to be okay? she spoke up, knowing that El would probably feel very guilty. She didn't want Eschelon to make her feel worse. And on a more cheerful note, do you think that poor excuse of a dragon will be back for more? she asked the ancient tan dragon with a faint sarcastic laugh.

IC: Eriel continued to use a few healing spells to relieve the last of her injuries, but the dull ache from her scar would not be removed so easily. She peered off in the distance, but there was no more sign of the evil dragoness or of her shadows. All seemed safe for the meantime. She noticed Solarae eyeing her with concern and shook her head. "I'll be fine. Just a bit tired. Actually, I think I have to get going. I was headed north before I got here, back to Du Weldenvarden, and it looks like you all are safe for now," she began, glancing between all of the dragons. Emrhyst extended a tendril of warmth to each of them as well as the elf prepared to say her farewells. "It was a pleasure meeting you all and fighting with you. I would do it again in a heartbeat," she said, adding a more formal goodbye in the Ancient Language for good measure. Eriel turned away from the group and began heading out into the desert, happy to have found new allies. IC: Elcyon bowed her head, feeling incredibly shameful. It wasn't the first time something like this had happened, and putting her new friends in danger not on her accord was no excuse. She had been told this had happened already once or twice before, but she chose to ignore it. Now her friends could have paid the price for her ignorance. I...I...I'm so sorry, she whispered, on the verge of tears. I didn't mean any of it, honest. I would never hurt anyone. I'm cursed, a dark side of me wants to break free, but I have no control over it. It's no excuse, I know, but that's all I can say. El turned and said goodbye to Eriel, thankful once again they were all strong enough to stop her and the other dragon. I'll be okay, once I recover mentally that the fact you were all in danger because of me. She looked away, guilt washing over her in waves that tormented her ever second. I understand if you want me to go away, I wouldn't blame you, any of you for that matter.
