Re: The future king of Alagaesia I would immediately suggest Nasauda but there have been hints in the last books that she isn't a fan of magic users (i will find quotes if people want them). Basically I think she is planning to do something to limit their freedoms after the eventual defeat of the empire, when she no longer needs them. I don't think the magic users would stand for this. But enough about that. Other likely candidates include, Roran, Orrin (to a lesser degree), Jormundur or possibly even the prime minster of Surda.

Re: The future king of Alagaesia It's also possible that after Galby they might not want a king. I'm thinking more of a three-way split of power. Nasuada, Orrin, and someone else. (This is to rule the humans, so I doubt the third would be an elf or dwarf.)
