Healing with Gramarye: Alakea is a semi-skilled Gramarye user. However, she does not believe in using her power to fight unless it's absolutely necessary. She feels that using Gramarye to kill is taking lives that are not hers to take. However, despite this, she is rather skilled with healing magic, and helps other healers whenever she can and wherever she is needed or called for.

Character Personality: At least 12 lines.
Alakea is a very quiet but energetic person. She enjoys helping people and healing others, but rarely talks to anyone other than the Dragon, Obsidian. She is very hopeful most of the time, and enjoys helping others as long as she is not part of a huge crowd when doing so. She tends to be a loner when she is not healing or helping others, preferring to fly high with Obsidian whenever possible. She also loves to explore remote areas, searching for potential allies to help the Varden and Elves in the war against Galbatorix. If needed, she will travel long distances to help a single person. When faced with two hard decisions, however, she tends to nothing and ignores the issue instead of tempting fate. She listens to all of Obsidian’s advice, knowing the dragon has the knowledge of his ancestors. She prefers the company of humans and dwarves to Elves, knowing that the Elves do not regard her very highly because she is part human. She respects her seniors. She strongly believes that to bring peace to Alagaesia, the Elves, dwarves, Varden, Nomads, and Urgals must join their forces to bring down Galbatorix, his army, and Shruikan. If this happens, she knows they will be able to defeat them, but only if they work together.

Alakea was born in Ellesméra about a century ago. No one exactly remembers her father, but her mother was a mortal. Both died about the time she was born. She has no siblings. As she grew up, she was raised by a healer named Eriaon. Eriaon taught her to respect life and all the living things around her. Eriaon disappeared when she was twenty-five years old. No one ever saw him again, but Alakea still remembers him well. She spent much of her time after Eriaon disappeared searching for the healer, eight years in fact, but never found a trace of the man. When Alakea turned thirty-five, two years later, she set off to help heal others around Alagaesia. She silently went from town to town, helping healers everywhere from Tarnag to Carvahall. Because of her naturally human appearance, no one realized that she wasn't a true human. She did this for thirty-six years, finally quitting because she realized that others would think it odd that she hadn't aged a bit at all during that time. She was seventy-one by then, but still looked like she was twenty. Her Elvish heritage had given her a long lifespan, and she had to remind herself that humans were much shorter lived. During the next fourteen years, she explored the far reaches of Alagaesia. While exploring the fringes of Du Weldenvarden one overcast, stormy day in the winter of her ninety-fifth year, she came across a black dragon egg with golden markings. The following day, the egg hatched. They bonded easily, and Alakea became one of the Dragon Rider. She raised the dragon and eventually named him Obsidian, after the shiny black rocky cliffs she’d found him near. The two traveled Alagaesia together and Alakea began healing people once more.

Weakness / Fear: losing Obsidian, failing to re-raise the Dragon Riders, and losing the battle for Alagaesia and the end to Galbatorix’s tyranny. Alakea thinks that raising the dragon riders is her responsibility, and feels that if she fails, she will be scorned or shunned by others or made to leave Alagaesia forever. This scares her a lot. She may prefer to be alone, but if she is shunned or forced to leave Alagaesia forever she would not be able to do it, and would rather die.

Character's Physical Description: At least 5 lines.
Alakea has light brown waist-length hair and emerald green eyes. She is small by Elvish standards at five foot five inches tall and lightly muscled, unlike her dragon, Obsidian. Her eyes have a light slant to them, but hardly more than a human's eyes can be. Her other facial features are also a bit angular. She may be short, but she makes the most of her five foot frame and stands tall, giving her the rather comical look of someone trying not to stand out in a crowd of much taller people. Her skin is fairly tanned from all the time she spends outside, and her ears are the only truely Elvish feature she has.

Dreams for the Future: She longs to see the rebirth of Dragons and Dragon Riders in Alagaesia

Reason for Dreams: She wants Obsidian to be happy, and for Alagaesia to be free of tyranny, no matter how it is achieved.

IDK if I was supposed to post this but as I am nearly at that rank, I decided I might as well.... I will be there by the end of summer. No need to have to re-create a Dragon character in a month because I reached that rank!!

Gender: male

Parents: His father is unknown, but his mother was a wild dragon named Icengar.

History: At least 5 lines.
Obsidian was born on an overcast and stormy day on the outer reaches of Du Weldenvarden, sometime in the winter five years ago. He bonded with Alakea quickly, having realized she was coming by listening to the land while inside his egg. He had known that if the one coming found him, they would be his rider. She found his egg, and he hatched a day later. He had chosen her, realizing she would make a good Rider in the near future. Obsidian grew quickly, and learned much about the art of healing from Alakea. He helped her when she needed him, and kept the lonely half-Elf girl company during her travels. He finds it easy to relate to her, remembering his own lonely years on the fringes of the forest, alone and long forgotten.

Personality: At least 5 lines
Obsidian was a lonely egg during his many years abandoned in Du Weldenvarden, but he learned an important lesson while there: Patience. He is a very patient dragon, and very gentle when around Alakea and others he knows. He enjoys gaining knowledge, and enjoys learning about the old days of Alagaesia, back when there were wild dragons and the Riders were a sign of peace. He especially likes to listen to Rhunön's stories, because she remembers his wild mother, Icengar.

Appearance: At least 3 lines.
Obsidian has broad, nicely rounded but very muscled shoulders and a rather large head for his age, which is attached to a more suitably apportioned neck that blends with the rest of his body. He has a strong tail, and his claws are about 7 inches long and sharp as razor blades. His eyes are as blue as the summer sky. The majority of his body is black, with meandering gold markings across his rather large wings, on his face, and across his belly.

Dreams for future: To see Alagaesia restored to its former glory and for the Dragons and Dragon Riders to return to Alagaesia

Reasons for dreams: He wants to see the return of freedom to his home

Weakness / Fear: Shades, Galbatorix and Shruikan. He also would rather die than be outcast by his own kind or forced to leave Alagaesia forever.
