Re: Last book you have read and rating I've finally finished it. I would've normally finished it in 3 days, but things haven't been that pleasant.Brisingr - 9/10 I don't Brisingr full marks because it didn't completely live up to my expectations. I mean, when I read Eldest, it was in the midst of my Inheritance obsession. I was only 10, and it was summer. I had nothing but time on my hands... However, reading it now, after not reading the series for 2 years, it wasn't the same. Now, those are my personal reasons, but within the book, I kept on waiting for one thing- the big battle. I don't know what battle it may have been, but the battles in Brisingr weren't too big for my liking. The last one was O.K. (i don't want to spoil anything...) That may be the masculine side of me talking... However, CP's writing has heightened unbelievably. I mean, I simply love his style. It is so sophisticated, engaging, and fun. He is the most mature writer of his age, that I am sure of. His descriptions aren't boring, and he's always building on something. The book was very good in answering some questions, but still a whole array of questions to be answered in the final book. Brisingr, in my opinion, is just like HBP of Harry Potter. Overall, that puts together my 9/10 rating. I am sure that CP will work a masterpiece with Book 4. Until then, I can only wait... |
