Should kids have been given the chance to help produce and direct the film Eragon?

Post Opportunity of a lifetime
Did anyone see the film BIG? A comedy with Tom Hanks.

Briefly, a 13 year old (or so) boy, made a wish that he was BIG … and it came true. Overnight he became about 30 years old. He could now drink and stuff. He and his friend (who still looked 13) entered a toy store and started playing with all the toys … as 13 year olds do. Everyone else saw a 30 year old man and a 13 year old boy playing with the toys. The toy store owner thought this was great and offered him a job (remember, he now looked 30). He rapidly got promoted because he seemed so in touch with what the kids wanted out of toys. Yes I know, it was only a film.

My longwinded point is … if Eragon was primarily targeted at people aged between 10 to 16 years of age (my guess), did they have kids of that age range advising during the film production? If they didn’t, shame on them. If they did, I’d trawl through some forums like this one and select some passionate users and offer them the opportunity of a lifetime … to get involved with the film production of Eldest ... 8)

I didn't mean kids should produce the film, of course they need experienced people for that ... I meant they should seek kids approval and guidance before committing themselves to a particular scene or direction ... especially if a film is targeted towards kids.

If you don't, you run the risk the end result will not be fully accepted!!!

i dont think it will work becoz we would all have different views on the matter meaning there would be alot of arguing and stuff and wat happens if some approve and some dont??

It's clear most of us agree the film was not great. We all think it would have been better if it followed the book at little more than it did.

It would be like having a practice run, or maybe MOC exams before the proper ones. If they'd of shown their early work to a group of kids (who had read and enjoyed the book) they'd have realised they were on the wrong track, and hopefully been able to realign their production.

They should have tested their film along the way, not left it until the film was complete.

Ok that would be wierd but i think famous kids that have read the books should give the people ideas of how they would want the movie to be like the book, that would make the movie better for us, kids!
