 saphira's ,motherhey i found out that saphira's mother was a wild dragon

I remember being a powerless man that could not control my fate much less that of the people around me. I temember hearing the howls of the wolves and wishing i could run with them. I was finally able to run with the wolves not just in my imagination but in reality with four paws of my own. Yes it says Saphiras mother was a wild dragon and she gave only a few of her eggs to the elves for riders.

who knows, she never knew them, but in eldest she says that she is saphira, daughter of Vervada, which i guess in her mother or father, i think mother, (pg 577, Eldest)

Anyway, Saphira likley apreciates her paretns for having sired her but other then that she has nothing else to cherish about them

her father was Iormungr ( but with a dash slanted towards the top right over the U) and her mother was vervada, iormungr must have been special as he was bound to a rider but vervada was wild , and it was concidered a feat for a rider dragon to mate with a wild dragon.

well saphira would be a rare entity as there are few dragons with a rider-bound sire and a wild dam, saphira's dam vervada as is noted to have been wild and formidable
