Elvenwarrior, Vanir cannot be destined for great things; he has too many character flaws, the most dangerous one is him being a biggot. For him to assume a position of power is the same as him becoming another Galbatorix. The only difference would be that instead of having a human tyrant, we'd have an Elven tyrant!

Yes I agree, although I do not like or favor his character much. I think he needs to kind of straighten up his attitude and whatnot but overall I can tell he's a good guy. Just the way he acts gets to me, especially the way he did towards Eragon. Just put me off for his character and like I said i don't really like him now. Although he can change and has a bit...and I know he's good and all so there's not much wrong with him really.

CP might mention him sparring, but he won't play much of a role, especially when Eragon can spar with Arya once she becomes a rider.

You think if CP wanted to make him the next rider he would have given him a bigger role in Eldest than a sparring partner.

i don't think he will play a role at all as i think he was only introduced into the book for the purpose training eragon

But Eragon was the best a human can get. Roran would probably not even get up to THAT level. Then Eragon was transformed, and Roran will never get up to that level. The only people who can get to Eragon's level are elves, Arya the most suitable.
