Who likes, whitewater rafting and kayaking!?! I've done the Nantahala in a raft and a 2-person duckie (inflatable kayak), the french broad in a one-person duckie, and the New river in a raft. It's lots of fun, and i cant wait to get a kayak of my own and some more training under my belt so i can tackle some larger stuff!! who else enjoys it?

anything whitewater is fun, but kayaking w/o experience on a rough enough river can lead to rushing downstream, upside down, head under water, trapped in a kayak, unable to see, with rocks everywhere. not a fun experience. luckily i haven't had it and hop not to.

I've white water rafting twice. Once in Peru with my family, the max it got to was category 3 but that didn't stop my mom from falling out, lol, my brother had to pull her in. I've also gone white water rafting with a big group of girls on the Catabwa River in North Carolina, where they said the max was 4 but since the water ws so low it probably got up to 5. There were 6 rafts and 2 of them flipped and two of them lost more than half their people. Our raft and the boss's raft were the only ones that didn't lose anyone and we were in probably worst stretchs. Cause I'm good like that jk lol

i'm pretty sure low water makes it go down... in rafts i've been on some class 4s and mayb 1 or 2 class fives, i want to do the autumn gaully in west v. in a kayak when i have some better experience,

just a hint though, DON'T DO IT ON THE NANTAHALA!!!
the water is like 50 degrees Farenheit. very cold!! don't get wet on THAT river!!

it can be very refreshing though. and rafting and cayaking is VERY fun!! a great (but pricey) hobby. no more expensive than paintballing can easily be, though!!!

When the water is lower the rocks are closer to the surface, therefor bumpier.

yeah, but the water is shallower, which would make it less wild.

well, its this huge inflatable banana u sit on, then they hook it up to a motorboat and go 40 mph. really fun, broken sword and i rode them in Jamaica. we flipped over, and it feels like hitting concrete -.- i kept yelling at them cuz they kept making sharp turns lol

sounds like fun!! a little like tubing, at least the "high speed dragging along water" part. tubings fun, but it can really hurt your arms!!

I love whitewater rafting! I have gone down the French Broad two. That was my only time but, I can't wait to go again.
