Name of species: Draco

A small dragon-like creature. Has a beak and large talons for catching its prey. A draco is covered in thick plates of armor, sort of like dragon scales. It has very large wings using for hovering in the air and swooping down on its prey. Dracos live in groups inside a hidden cave. These are called cayrs. Dracos are smaller then dragons, but their ferocity is unequaled. One draco alone isn't a threat to most beings, but several dracos working together can take down beasts 5 times their size. Their coloration varies, depending on what family of dracos they came from. Their eye color matches the color of their armor.

Many people mistake Dracos for dragons, but the are only related. A draco cannot breathe fire, ice, or lightning, and though looking like a dragon, does not have any teeth.

Dracos are in my story "Avenger" in Fanfiction, but I haven't gotten to them yet.

They have riders but these riders are conected to them. each one has a marking star gazers is a star on her forhead. her rider has the same mark but it is on there neck. EAch mark glows in the dark.
