 Young Wizards by Diane DuaneMy current favorite series. At the moment, there's nine books out in the series. Anyone else read them?

Re: Young Wizards by Diane Duane Actually, they Young Wizards was written before harry potter, and really, they aren't at all alike. Yeah, they're about a couple kids in the modern world who become wizards, but that's where the similarity ends. There's no school, it's more of it do-it-yourself kind of thing. You somehow acquire a wizard's manual and it tells you what you need to know, and you can find a senior if you need more help. And even the concept of what wizards are is unique from other fantasies. Wizards have this religion, it has some parallels with christianity. Basically, there are a bunch of higher beings who created the world, but then one of them created death, and wizards exist to stop that. It's a really good series.

Book 11 is completely plotted out and ready to begin: book 12 is in development.
