Well, how can you be sure if Roran is the next rider? And if he is, how do u know the dragon will like the name Garrow?

Well, if the next rider is Roran, it would probably like the name because it's special to Roran.

It wouldn't necessarily have to be a sad name. More than likely, Roran would give the dragon that name so he could remember his father with pride. If your father (or mother) died, would you want to dwell on the sad things, or the happy times y'all spent together? Yes, it might cause Roran a little sadness, but not much, because he would know that his father would have been proud of him.

I agree. I still think it will be emer..... maybe emergar? Probably not though. Thorn and Red have nothing to do in common, so maybe not.

Good point! But its sorta complicated if ur trying to figure out Thorn's name. I dont think we'll have much luck guessing what the green dragon's name is.

well i dont see a relationship with glaedr and gold (exept for the obvios 'g' buut that doesnt really mean anything) and the only distintct relation ship we know id saphire and saphira un-like the the relation ship between thorn and red that doesnt make you say "oh i bet its red" when you hear it unlike with saphira. but its still possible that the green dragons name will relate with emrald its just not reallly important that it does.

Does the dragon have to be a boy.....how do we know for sure it's a boy dragon......it could be a girl dragon and then leafa would make sense as a name for the dragon

In eldist Murtag said that the last egg was a male and they hint about it durring Eragons and Saphira's training that the last egg is going to be male. Its a boy dragon and as for the name I have no clue. I think it will start with a V though.

I don't know I like the letter V and alot of powerful peoples names start with that letter in books.

I doubt its going to start with V. I mean, the Varden arent that powerful and Vrael got killed by Galby and there is absolutely no evidence linking green to V. (Or at least I dont find any evidence.) If you find evidence, plz share it.

I given this thing a bit of thought and I think it might have nothing to do with green/ emerald, like Shruikan. Or maybe it has, but its just too hard to guess to me. But lets keep our hopes up that we shall find a suitable name. And when CP releases the book, if the name doesnt fit, we can all lodge comments on what the name should be hehe. But CP will probably give it a really good name!

What if the dragon is evil like Thorn and Shruiken?....That would just blow most of the theories out of the water

Don't double post. And I don't think that the third Rider will be evil. Do you really think that CP would make Eragon fight two seriously strong Riders and THEN Galby? I don't think so, because no one would stand a chance against those odds, not even Eragon with help from whatever is in the Vault of Souls. *back on topic*

The story would sound so much better if he had to fight more evil riders though.....Also I think that the name has nothing to do with the color of the dragon....Maybe the dragon is named after the first Eragon's dragon

You forget what they said about that dragon's name in Eldest. Glaedr told Eragon and Saphira that his name couldn't be said in any language, so if the Rider of that dragon felt like calling his partner dragon the entire time it might work.

I dunno, I read an article somewhere that there were two different white dragons involved in that treaty. One was Bid'Daum, and the other one's name you couldn't say. I shortened that from what CP himself said in that article.

No, he didn't have two dragons. Eragon the 1st used his dragon, Bid'Daum, to translate to the representative of the dragon race, the white dragon who's name you can't say in any language. That white dragon was wild, while Bid'Daum had a Rider, Eragon the 1st.

Nooo... Eragon used Bid'Daum to translate what the elves were saying to the dragon representative, who happened to be another white male dragon. Eragon the 1st didn't tame him and the representative didn't agree to serve him. Bid'Daum was a translator between the two races, that was all.

Amaranth (Song Title)

Demiral (DEM-I-RAL) Like Emerald
Amarith (AMA -RITH) Like Amaranth which is a dense Green

CP introduced 1 dragon in Book 1, 2 dragons in book 2, maybe 3 dragons in Book 3
2 dragons for book 3 will be Shruikan and the green Dragon and maybe the third will be another older one !

well i think if there is a third new dragon in book 3 it will be saphira's little baby!!!

there is still the third egg, so it definitly will be that but that couls happen also (possible making both arya and roran a dragon rider by saphiras baby hatches for whoever wasnt the first one, a theory i made a while ago.)

i doubt roran will be a rider, and i doubt there will be an older dragon, their all dead.

I think that Arya will be the next rider and that she will name him Faolin after her dead love.
