Post Remembrances
Well, I noticed so many people die each day unnoticed and forgotten by many, so here's the thread to let everyone know, whether it be somebody famous, or somebody you personally knew. Firstly, to Colin McRae (champion rally driver), his 5 year old son and friend, and Graeme Duncan who sadly died in a helicopter crash in Lanarkshire on Saturday.

oh, please. I'm not trying to be disrespectful or anything like that, but why should you put such a depressing topic on the forums?

There is no need to be sad when remembering the past. Just smile and remember old times. Don't lament over lost friends, be happy for the time u had with them.

In Loving Memory
Ashley May Gouy

Ashley was a good friend of mine. The past couple years she had been getting into the drinking scene. Last night her and two friends were traveling in a car while under the influence. The passenger in the back seat was wearing a seat belt, but Ashley and the driver were not. Both were thrown from the vehicle when a truck hit their car. The driver died on the scene, the backseat passenger escaped with only a broken collar bone and Ashley was left unconscious. She was air lifted to a hospital in Calgary and put on life support. This morning the doctors believed that her brain was swelling. This afternoon around 3.20PM she was taken off life support.
She died shortly after.

Ashley was 19 and had been in an abusive relationship until spring of this year.

She was supposed to move back in with her parents today.

She left behind a daughter aged 1 and a half years old named Taylor.

Fronzz that's a pretty horrible thing to say. They weren't being idiots and breaking the law by drinking- they were by driving under the influence. That was them being idiots. I'm really sorry Keev, and sorry for your friend, that's sad :(

Its not drinking thats bad, its the people who drink irresponsibly that are "bad".

I'm sorry about your friend Keev. To lose a friend like that must be awful.
my best friend was in a car wreck friday, when i heard i thought the worst. But thankfully no one was hurt.

well, his basic point remains the same, drinking itself isn't bad; i know parents of friends who drink some, but getting drunk, whether while driving or not, is still a bad choice. just think of all the other bad things that happen because of drunk people.

I'm sorry about your friend. and i'll pray for her family during this time.

Both my grandfathers died before I was 2 years old, so I don't really remember them, but my Grandmother had to have her legs amputated, then died a few years ago- I never saw her much, but it was still sad. My other Gran is living with us now.

People call us a young family, cause my great grandma is only 87 and my cousin, who is related to her in the same way as me, has had a baby, so that makes her a great great grandma! So my 60 year old grandma is a great grandma and my 41 year old aunt is a grandma! And more often then not, when I'm at camp, I'll be the oldest person there, yet have the youngest parents!

I don't know about any other countries, but in Canada, today is Remembrance Day. Time to remember all the men and women who gave their lives in the first and second WW's, and now, in Iraq. Let us remember these brave people and be proud of our nation.

Yeah we just call it rememberance day, but I was annoyed because I couldn't find anywhere to buy a rememberance poppy :( We watched the memorial service thing though on TV with the queen and everyone laying wreaths in London, and had the 2 minutes silence to remember everyone who gave their lives for us.

Over me? Yes, because I was the one who was controlling this country at the time, and I was the one doing all the fighting, and I was the one who died for my country, as were all the other people over here who are alive right now :x

Surely memorial day is remembering everyone who died in any war, anywhere, ever, rather than celebrating victories. :x

Fronzz, that was mean. And like Firetongue said, thats not waht Rememberance/Memorial Day is all about. Its nothing about who won and who lost, it about the people who died during the mindless fighting.

I didn't mean it like that. Our Memorial Day is for celebrating the men and women who died for our freedom, which we mainly got from defeating the British, and when I said "Over you" i wasnt actually implying YOU.

1) why the heck are u arguing over something that happened hundreds of years ago?
2) fronzz was stating a true fact, as was firetongue. America DOES remember our freedom from england, but all the countries DO have days set to remember those who died protecting our countries, not our victories.
so let's drop it ok people?
