Books that made you cry?
Has anyone read a really sad book that has made you cry? Or just a really sad book at all? I seriously haven't so...

I have, but I can't remember what it was, or what happened lol. I'll try and think of it. Oh well there was "A Child Called It" and "My Sister's Keeper", both incredibly, harrowingly sad books, but I can't remember if I cried. Probably .

Haven't cried over books in years, but a few make me care a lot for the characters, namely Republic Commando and Gears of War: Aspho Fields, both by Karen Traviss.
Any book that does that is well written, in my opinion.

I don't really call that a book, more like a comic (it tells a story using pictures and text within each other, to me, that's the base of a comic, Mangas being a division of comics, ect. ) Though I'd have to agree it's the closest I've ever come to crying while reading something... (Subtitles don't count btw)

The only book I've ever really came close to crying over was a book I read in Elementary school called "Into Thin Air". It was about an expedition to Mt. Everest and the story of how half of their entire team died by freezing to death. The real thing that got me was this one guy's final words to his wife right before he died...pretty sad.

Re: Books that made you cry?
I sometimes cry when somebody really important dies in a book. There's this book, the sisters grimm, and the main characters uncles girlfriend died and I cried. I didn't cry when edward left in new moon I don't think.
Lol, I recently had like a breakdown whil reading "Friendly Foe?" a fanfiction by a friend of mine. So sad and horrible, exactly the kinda thing I like! *Huggles Willers*
Oh, and I also started the waterworks when reading the last book of "The Door Within" series, as well as both of the "Isle of Fire" books. And there was anotherm but I forget...

Re: Books that made you cry?
I cried while reading all three Eragon books, or that may have been because I read them pretty late at night. *My eyes water when I get tired...* I remember crying when Brom and Oromis died a whole lt, and after Murtagh's "death". I also cried during the Inkheart books. IDK why other than when Dustfinger died. I can't think of any others right now....

Re: Books that made you cry?
It wasn't really the book that made me cry, rather the fact that it was the last book. After I finished the Emperor of Nihon-Ja, I put down my Kindle and thought about it for a moment. Then it finally hit me. It's all over. Ranger's Apprentice is over. Then the tears started to roll.

Re: Books that made you cry?
While I didn't cry in that book, it was certainly a sad book, Pandaemon. Nearly my entire class had cried at the ending of that book.
Truthfully, I can't recall one time that I have cried in a book. I don't get moved easily. However, I'd say that I was a kinda close to crying at the end of Scorpia Rising. (Do not read if you haven't read the book) What Blunt did to Alex was probably the most heartless thing in the entire series. I thought that the man had at least somewhat cared for Alex because of all of the times Alex had helped him, but that just....It gave some real insight on how evil a spy can be, which ironically, one of the evil characters in either Crocodile Tears or Scorpia Rising remarked.
The last one to make me cry was The Princess and the Snowbird, and I have absolutely no idea why. It was a very very good book, but then there's this part where Jens and Liva are talking just...wow...
