OOC: Anyone can Join!
IC:
Ranog and Urson had been tunneling deep beneath the Beor Mountains in search of that that they hold more precious that any other thing, rubies. He had no explanation as to why he loved them so much, only that he did. They had a luster that was unmatched by any and all other precious minerals and stones.

This was but one of many of his trips to find the stone. He was about five miles beneath the city of Dalgon. This was an area so rich in its natural resources such as coal, oil, and precious stones and minerals that you were likely to become so rich in one trip that you would never have to go again. This was where Ranog was tunneling. He as always had his faithful steed Urson with him. He had Urson to alert him of approaching strangers and possibly rubies, for Feldûnost have certain uncanny abilities to sense precious gems, minerals and such. Urson was extremely good with this ability and had already helped Ranog to amass a large number of the gems.

Ranog had been digging in the spot that Urson had told him to and was getting more and more gems, though mostly diamonds, sapphires and emeralds when he saw it, a chunk of a ruby, he began to dig ever so slightly and slowly, so as not to crack or in any way harm the gem. He was about twenty minute’s away form getting around the gem when he noticed, that it was larger than he had first suspected. He used magic to see the size and was amazed; the gem was larger than Isidar Mithraism (sp). He almost fell in the floor with surprise. He began to use magic to clear away the dust, rocks and debris away from the gem. He had gotten everything away, and was trying to pull the gem toward the exit when the earth beneath him gave way.

Ranog woke up next to Urson and noticed that the ruby had smashed into pieces. He was angry about that, nut not nearly at the fact that he, a dwarf had no clue how to get out of the underground passageway that he was in. He woke Urson and checked him for any wounds, and other that a large knot on the top of his head he was unharmed. He was in the middle of gathering up the ruby when he heard a large thud. He heard another thud. He used his magic to see and what he saw disturbed him greatly. Monstrous ogres were walking around in the darkness. Ranog had never been scared before in his life, but he was terrified of the stories he had heard of those beasts. He mounted Urson and rode away as fast as he could.

OOC: I will. I will bring Kit and Shyara in, if that is okay, and Arkel. Shyra will appear at the very end, you'll understand why after you my post.

IC: Arkel was down under ground digging, with Shyara and Kit. "How about this one?"

Kit took the stone and looked at it, "No, this one needs to be perfect." He handed it back to Arkel and kept looking. He was digging sideways when he hit a hollow space with his pick. "Hey, I think we got it." He broke open the small cavity; lining the walls were diamonds, large and small, but what he was looking for was in the back. A vein of red ran through the diamonds. Kit reached back and grabbed a large piece, "Here we go." Shyara and Arkel came over and looked at it. Kit held it up, "This is a real Blood Diamond, and after some cutting will go nicely on Shyra's ring."

"Are you sure you want to do this? I've only known you for a short amount of time, but I am your friend and required to ask this."

"Yes I'm sure, I'm going to marry her. Hey listen, do you hear that?" Boom! Boom! "I wonder what that is?" Suddenly the ground from underneath them fell away and the diamond rolled away. A dwarf came flying up the tunnel and behind it an Ogre picked up the diamond. Kit looked into its face, so he could identify him anywhere and the three of them ran after the dwarf, he had looked familiar.

OOC: Ok, but remember this is WAY undergorund, we are talking abotu 5 miles down, and I was going to have Ranog go so an extrmely old civilization, below the ground, so could you say, like they fell, please edit it, it won't be other adventured if its in Alagesia.

OOC: Edit what, everything fits. I never said they were close to the surface. I fail to see the conflict

OOC: Its too easy, they are digging a tunnel, but never mind....Ill say the tunnel collapses.

IC:
Ranog and Urson were dog-tired when they came upon Kit, Shyara ,and Arkel digging in a tunnel. He stopped momentarily to tell them what had happened, "We have ot get out of here, there are orges after us, and this tunnel we are standing in umm, well, I'v been looking and its.....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Ranog Urson, Kit, Shyara, and Arkel fell the tunnel in question was sitting right on top of a fault-line. He had noticed the tell-tale signs of recent cave-ins and such and had suspected it, but was not ready for the drop.

About seven hours later Ranog was wakened by Uson by a large hoof in his face. Urson siad, Look around and wake everyone else, we seem to be in a cavern many miles below the Beor mountains. It seems that there was a cave in at the same moment we fell through, because there is no light comeig from above where the lanterns were.

Ranod looked around and noticed, this place is ancient, this land, it hasn't seen the light of day for probably more than a millenia(sp). He quickly got up and woke the others.

OOC: A millenia is only a thousand years. Did you ask anyone else to join, because 2 people could get boring?

OOC: Yea, I know but its a long time for everyone except Arkel, and he might even get to fight Thread lol, and naa I didn'tbut hopefully they will just join lol! And it is your go.

Arkel extinguished his light. "No, it doesn't. But it feels like it is part of the transition between my magic and yours." Arkel took Kit's hand and got up on Shyara, because of his size it was easier for him to stay human. "So Ranog, do you have an idea who or what these people are?"

OOC: And no Arkel will find Thead in Rising

OOC: Remember, he answered the question in the first sentence.

OOC: Oh right, the few minor misspellings made me think you were talking about something else.

OOC" Lol, yea IM not the best speller in the world...

OOC: it is your turn too, unless you are waiting for other people to join. I PMed Fanghur and Draco about this one, I hope that was alright.

OOC: Yea, I thin I'll wait, because we shouldn;t get any further with out the others getting in. It would be too far into the plot.

OOC: Alright I'm joinin'! lol, kit, you learned the millenia thing from me!! rofl! lol, Phal's becoming quite the history buff, she'd be mad if I didn't get her involved in this one.

IC: Phalynx finally reached the last level of the tunnel before it opened up into a massive cavern. Wow. That's as large as the citadel in Unity, she thought. She had discovered the underground city of Unity almost two years ago, and it's citadel was the second largest cavern it contained. The city itself was built for a lot of dragons, though, so that was understandable. She had no idea what this city was built by or for.

Phalynx had found an ancient map in Unity detailing how to get here. The dragons had apparently discovered this ancient underground city while searching for a place for their own city. In fact, the tunnels they had mapped had led them to Unity's cavern. This city, though, was far deeper underground than Phal ever could have imagined. She felt nervous this deep, especially because she was used to flying miles up.

Phal observed a few beasts wandering aimlessly through the city. She identified them as ogres, and realized that they were not the original inhabitants. They had obviously settled here after the old residents had left. What Phal saw next surprised her. She saw a group of familiar faces, and some not so familiar faces, huddled together near one of the side entrances, near the bodies of several dead ogres.

The starry dragon immediately swooped down from her perch directly above the city and flew down to its edge to greet her friends. Shyara, Kit, hello! What brings you to this place? And I don't believe I've met any of you, Phal said, nodding her head politely to the dwarf and his Feldunost and the human. The human had a very strange magical aura around him, it looked extremely ancient. And the way the magic was moving almost made it look as if he had two consciousnesses. I can tell you are very ancient, sir. I am Phalynx, the dragoness of the stars, and half-sister to the king of wild dragons in Alagaesia, she introduced herself formally to the ancient human and the dwarf.

OOC: Sorry for the wait.

IC:
"Umm, welcome siver dragon, they call me Ranog and this feldunost goes by the name Urson. What brings you here? We fell here while runnin form ogres." Ranog looked the dragoness over, her silve scales sparkled like burnished silver. He decieded that he liked her.

He turned toward her and said, "Do you know what this place is called?"

OOC: Pass turn.

OOC: Draco your turn.

OOC: Can I join?

Yup I kinda got that. And voenth reply to the other topic...

OOC: Sure, just making sure, so that you have an idea o fhow you will get to our little group.

OOC: Right... I guess i'll be with the urgals or something.

OOC: There are ogres, and please read what has already been posted so that what you post dosn't contradict what has already been said.

OOC: Sorry I ment ogres.

OOC: lol. Leath's with Galby, right? If so, then he probably wouldn't be with the ogres. They seem kind of like they're just minding their own business (to an extent) in the cave city. Just wondering.

IC: Phalynx laughed at Arkel's words. I wouldn't doubt it. Galby's not too fond of me... I've spent my whole life travelling Alagaesia and the places beyond it, so I guess I probably wouldn't make a bad guide, she said happily. She noticed Ranog and Urson move off into the city.

Hey now. This isn't a battle mission. For me, it's an adventurous expedition into the unknown! Just my kind of thing! she said into everyone's mind, and flapped into the air right after Shyara. She kept her scales dark to avoid being seen, and flew high above the city to scout it out with her vision.

From here, she could see every tunnel and chamber within the city, though when it all overlapped like this it got a little confusing. She didn't mind though. Phalynx had long ago learned how to make sense of the images her eyes gathered for her. She could see in all forms of light at once, including magic and shadow vision. She had not yet needed to use all at once, but she knew that someday she might. She circled around, watching Ranog's progress and waiting for a good chance to land and explore further.

OOC: Go ahead with your post Leath, but make it one that allows you to get into this rp, without doing anything that would contradict the storyline, The order now is, Voenth, Kit, Dracoaestas, Leath.

OOC: Yea it is ok.

IC:
When Raog saw that Phalynx and Shyaara weren't heeding his words of advise, he thought then and there, If they can't listen to reason, then I won't waste my skin and that of Urson's over them. He continued on his course and stopped when he heard the deep voices of th ogres nearby, Shyara, Phalynx get on the ground now! I am right next to a large group of ogres!

After roughly three days of hard travel away from the city of Opeth, Shinta had not encountered any civilization whatsoever. He scolded himself for not going west as opposed to east, and was about to consider finding a tree to sleep in for the night, when he noticed a large mound of what looked like earth form the corner of his eye. Naturally, curiosity brought Shinta over to this mound to investigate. He found a few cracks and disturbances in the ground, and a very large hole that looked like the entrance of a tunnel.

Cautiously, he walked to the edge of the hole and looked down, and there in front of him, with his superior eyesight, he saw lots of small, shiny objects. He squinted hard. 'Could it be...?' he started saying to himself. Then he threw caution to the wind and dived into the tunnel, his katana behind him in his right hand, his left hand in front of him, ready to get into the attack stance.

OOC: Looks like we are going to have a competition for the diamond. and are you above ground, Leath, Because there is no sun down where we are at?
You probably should have asked Veonth before joining, I think he only wanted a few people on this one and we already have 4 not including you.

IC: Quit worrying, it is dark up here. If they had a giant blazing fire on the ground they still wouldn't see us. Now just stay quiet and sneak past them, or if you want we can attack and kill, them, but that sounds stupid, since you are tiny compared to them. Shyara didn't like how Ranog treated her, as if he could control her.

Kit snuck up past Ranog and quietly climbed the rock and peeked over. There were several Ogres, but none was the one that took Shyra Diamond. He slipped back down and continued down the path quietly, without saying a word.

Arkel followed Kit, knowing it best not to surprise an Ogre, especially if they are armed.

OOC: Its ok if he wants to join, but remember we are so far down, that it isn't even Alagesia anymore. I would say we are between 5 and 8 miles down, so please make a way in your next post to allow you to get that far down.

OOC: Sorry didnt relize it was my turn. And can you guys mention a earthquake in your next posts? Or else its going to be very complicated for me to get down so the story can keep running smothly. When Leath reached the ogres his grin turned upsidedown. Where are the others? "Miles dead... tunnel clallaspped (sp.).... other people killed them.... but I was able to steal this from one of them after the fall." The ogres handed Leath the most beautiful and large blood diamond he had ever seen. "Its.... its.... amazing." Leath felt the perfect stone in his hand. Then guickly placed it in his pouch neer his waist. "I must be going......" Suddenly a great earthquake inturupted Leath. The ground shook with anger and the ogre and Leath were tossed over. Then the ground split in half and a great gorge began to form. In fright Leath tryed to get up and run but his legs wouldn't move. Looking down Leath noticed that in the furry his left leg had hit a sharp rock. Then blood had already covered most of his leg. Leath haden't noticed the pain until now and he let out a yelp like a cat when its tail is stepped on. Suddenly the ground broke from under Leath and he began to fall down into the unknown abiss below him.

OOC: Ayeeka meeka, I have been skipped! Nevermind, I shall go now, but when Kit goes next then it's my turn.

IC: Phalynx chuckled to herself. Ranog was a very cautious dwarf, though perhaps smaller creatures needed to be more careful of things than dragons, especially with huge ogres around. The ogres looked crude, unintelligent, and easy to defeat. Phal could blast them with fire or outsmart them and they would be beaten immediately. She could even decide to face them all with her strength and speed alone, and she would win. She was a dragon after all.

Phal simply contented herself examining the city with her sight. Once she had this place mapped out in her head, she would be able to explore the passages without fear of getting lost. She wanted to see if there were any documents surviving. Anything left would probably be paintings, artwork, or magical artifacts, but one never knew.

A sudden slight rumble of the stone around them made a stream of dust fall from the ceiling. Phal coughed on the dust, shaking her head. It cleared, and she re-evaluated her knowledge of this place. It was possibly unstable, so they would all have to be careful of that.

IC: Phalynx saw the arrows coming as they were being drawn, and immediately executed a very complicated flight maneuver that caused her to end up one-hundred feet to the right and fifty feet down, far out of range of the arrows. She watched as Shyara tricked the ogres with a large stone.

Phal laughed apologetically. Sorry about that. Stealth has never been one of my strong points. I always seem to attract attention wherever I go, whether it be on purpose or not... she said, giving a small dragon shrug. She flew back to the ceiling.

The silver dragoness noticed something new in the city; something tumbling down into it from a side tunnel. It was some sort of hominid, and it had some dark magic around it. Phal frowned, knowing another potential enemy had entered the city. Someone new's just joined us, my friends. And they have a small aura of dark magic. Steer clear of the far end of the city, and watch for an unfamiliar male hominid, she warned the others. Phal was glad for her powers; she could see every living thing in the city if it was large enough to give off a heat signature.

IC:
Well, thats jus great, aonther threat, and or someone we will have to rescue. Said Ranog as he and Urson continued down toward the ancient city. Ranog noticed that there were beautiful gems laying on the floor, but sadly no rubies. He sorely wished for a ruby, just one. He and Urson didn't know it, but they were being watched. They contined to the city, untill all Hell broke loose. A huge arrow burried itseld point down three feet in frong ot Urson. Then a smaller arrow landed squarely in Ranog's shoulder. He let out a curse and began to try and ride away, but the trolls had seen them. Ranog was riding, when a huge club came out of no-where and knocked him sensless and off of Urson. Urson continued to run, terrifyed for his life. He wanted to go back, but his animal instinct had kicked in and caused him to run the opposite direction.

Ranog woke up some time later, and saw that he was disarmed and that he was in a cell.

Shyara smiled at her aunt, They are about as big as us, surprise has a much better effect when they aren't prepared.

Kit opened his eyes and looked around. He only saw the dwarf Ranog in the cell with him. He sat up, "Have you seen Arkel?"

Arkel opened his eyes, he was in some sort of cell and chained to the wall with some kind of metal that was sapping his strength. He looked up as a being walked into the room. It looked human in the dark light, but when exposed to the light it appeared to be half dead, half alive. It smelled of rotting flesh, and made Arkel gag. It has huge portions of its body missing, but the gaps were filled with some sort of dark, ghostly haze.

OOC: Arkel needs to stay where he's at for a while

"You don't have to be so pissy," Kit said, "I've been in worse jams then this." He watched Ranog go over the rock. "See you already found something." Kit waited whilst Ranog tried to work the rock loose, finally he said, "Waise maela jierda stenr!" The rocks cracked and fell apart silently; "Lead the way."

Arkel watched the Creature as he moved around through the room. A crackling voice, that sounded as if coming from the dead spoke, "You are very ancient, and powerful. You are the chosen one. You will carry our burden upon your shoulders." "What the hell does that mean?" "Oh, yes, the Underworld, you will for surely be making a stop there on your way, elsewise could our burden be yours?"

"SSH! Be quiet rumor is that ogres can hear very well. So be quiet and do as I do." Ranog stepped out of the cell and continued down the hall, his sharp eyes and knowledge of stones allowing him to walk silenely. He went to the end of the hall and stopped. He peered around the corner and saw about fifteen ogres sitting aound drinking. He stopped Kit and pointed around the corner then back toward the cell. He then listened carefully as one of the ogres talked.

OOC: Ok, these guys are gona be REALLY! stupid.
IC:
"Haaaaaaayyyy, that wuz minnn giv it bakkkk!" Said one of the ogres. "No, itz minn an I guna kep it! Wut yu guna du bout it?"

OOC: I assume they are referring to my Blood Diamond?

IC: Kit came to a halt when Ranog extended his hand. He listened carefully they were arguing over something but Kit couldn't tell what it was.

Shyara watched Phalynx as mapped the place out in her mind, Find anything yet? she asked quietly.

Arkel watched the being pull out ancient jars that were nearly empty. They had herbs, crushed bone, flesh that had turned to ash. The creature began mixing them in a bowl and pouring vast amounts of something into the bowl with it. It looked like magic, but it wasn't. It was pure and came out of the floor and was transported to the bowl via his hands.

OOC: Voenth, you make me laugh.

IC: Phalynx continued her survey of the "above ground-level" buildings, searching within each one. She found several with ogres inside, but her magic vision revealed no trace of her friends.

I'm not finding anything in the buildings themselves. They've probably been taken under the ground level, but I must be sure before I begin my search there, she answered Shyara.

She finally finished her inspection of the city itself, and began a brief scan of the lower levels. She quickly found what looked like a likely place to be used as dungeons, and started there. Her guess turned out to be correct. Near the heat signatures of a few quarreling ogres, she located a pair of smaller ones. One was short and stocky, a dwarf, while the other was taller. It was certainly Ranog and Kit.

I've located Ranog and Kit. In just a few more moments I'll have a route to them, she said, beginning to trace the tunnels back to a small, unused entrance near her and Shyara.

OOC: Ok, then the order is

OOC: I hope you mean Kit, because Ranog is a dwarf...

IC:
Ranog looked at the human with the red daimond in his hands that had run into Kit. He nimbly too kthe daimond from him. It was nice enough, not as nice as a ruby, but still nice. He took it and put it in his pack. He growled, "Where did you get this and what are you doing with these ogres?" He cornered the human to prevent any form of escape.

OOC: Veonth I think you better go. I think Leath is a flop, who gets on alot for alittle while then forgets all about it

OOC: Yea, but I hate to skip him, he has been given an important role, pass, if you want, Kit, or Draco, you might as well god-mod his charry out of the story.

OOC: I know he has, but we are stuck, so I'll do it.

IC: Leath's mind flashed with an idea. I hope a Dwarf is the same as a human, he thought. With sudden and quick agility, he kicked both Kit and Ranog between the legs and dashed back out from where he had come.

He ran right into the hands of Orges he had upset earlier. "You're coming with us human," one said in their slurred speech. "Let's take him back home with us," one said. Another butted in, "No, I haven't eaten flesh in a long time, let's eat him." Very quickly the arguement turned violent and small Orge grabbed Leath off the floor, where he had been thrown down in place for a club, and snuck off into a tunnel that led away from the area.

OOC: there we go Leath's gone. You can go Veonth now if you want.

OOC: He wasn't eaten, just taken where he would escape later

IC: Ranog had clearly ignored Kit, so he said again, "That Blood Diamond was the one I had found, can I please have it back?"

OOC: My bad kit...... Also, could one of you god mod my charries? Please do to move the story forward.

OOC: so it Leath still part of this or not?

OOC: No, hes gone.

Ranog used his "fists of steel" to punch a hole in the old and weakened stones that made a small wall. He continued to punch, until there was room for everyone, even the dragons to get out. He waited outside for the rest to get out.

OOC:Pass.

OOC: Shyara and Kit are just following for now.

IC: Arkel watch the as the mixture in the bowl finished mixing. The Creature walked over to him, bowl in hand and grabbed his mouth in a steely grip that seemed to strong for a being of such age. He push Arkel's head back and pried his mouth open, then poured the contents of the bowl down his throat.

Violent convulsions gripped Arkel, he bent and twisted in inhuman ways. Foamed poured from his mouth as his eyes rolled up in his head.

Arkel was suddenly in a dark place, no longer chained. It was icy cold, and his breath froze before it left his body. He took a step forward, but nothing changed. He took another step, the ran forward. He suddenly stopped and looked down; his footsteps were now in front of him instead of behind him. He cursed aloud, and was shocked that it died as it left his lips. Then the ground quaked as something large shifted a few feet away. Arkel, a dark voice rang in his mind, My name is Entity, I'm trapped, for the time being but I shall escape soon. In the mean time, you will do as I command, you will be my precoming, the voice rang again. I will never, Arkel retorted, I fight to good, you don't sound like you save any lives. You're right, I don't, but shalln't any longer either. A huge claw came forth from the darkness, coated in ice, no it was ice. It plunged itself into his heart, and now he could no longer move, chained again.

Arkel felt the black spread throughout his body. He felt it as it flooded his thinking. He eyes began to cloud over, and soon all he could was evil and darkness around him, and he relished in it.

"Maby, just maby he is in a room that is lined with a special ore, that may be the problem, he may also be protected frmo your eyes by some sort of magic. I have heard of your fight with the darkness, the darkness may be blocking you from seeing." said the dwarf philosophicly(sp).

OOC: Pass, also I will be A LOT less active for the next while.
