How can you guys be so SURE that Eragon's father IS NOT Morzan and instead Brom's his real dad. I mean, I juz don't feel so sure.... The story had so many turns already, could it turn again? I mean Angela DID say Eragon was going to be betrayed in his own family, and Murtagh DID betray him, rite? I mean, if Eragon really IS Brom's son, then who is going to betray Eragon next? His OTHER brother? Brom's OTHER son? I juz find it weird if you ask me....

Well, to me it makes perfect sense but I'm still not sure who is Eragon's real father. It could be Brom because when Selena left Morzan, she could've met Brom and gotten pregnant then. And Brom did mention that he knew her well and he seemed to care about her a lot. Then again, it could be Morzan because she could've gotten pregnant before she left him. So it's still a mystery...........

remember angela said something about this and that he loved a woman but it was here down fall and that he thought he could never beat morzan in a fight
it fits so i think eragon will find a family, but in a way he has, all the people like angela,nasauda,oromis,gladrh and orik. and of course dugrimist ingtieumn

No I don't think it is bad what happened to Ajihad. I think it was kinda good for Nasuada than anybody else.

I totally agree with you there. There were subtle hints all throughout Eragon that there was something like that going on. Like when in Eragon, it said that he liked Murtagh or that there was some "bond" between them. Or how they were both evenly matched when sparring.

ive just realised
eragon has a way he can get to most of the main forces of alageasia, maybe this is what angela meant by many paths with only one bringing happiness.

dwarves- ever get himself or orik leader and be leader or be a right hand man
empire-join galby
elves-marry arya, unwillingly or not,
urgals-go to there halls and stay there till trusted

know its highly unlikely he will do anythink like theses but it shows he could become powerful quick on anyone side

but any of all the options you mention will bind him to the force while the riders are supposed to be free from any authority.

i think Murtagh is the person who's crying on the river bank in Eragon's dream. At the end, his dragon might be killed and he's abandoned from Dragon Riders community. Though they don't kill him, but his life will be a chain of sad days

im about 1/2 way through eldest and was wondering something. in eragon, you read that eragon gets his fortune told. i cant remember exactly what was said. she said that two other people she had met, she told her fortunes for them. one a man and one a woman. my theroy is two fold. i think that the woman she told the fortune too was eragons mother and i also think that brom is eragons father. do we find out in eldest?? i havent looked at any of the posts in here because i dont want to find out any of the spoilers. i dont want to be told if my theory is correct or not, just if i get to find out in eldest. thanks.

Sadly, you don't get to find out in Eldest. Your theory is as good as Eragon and any of us. Angela never says who it was she told the fortunes too. As for Eragons father, you do find out at the end, hence the title. I hope I didn't spoil it for you.

evediaz~ no you didnt spoil it for me. im a little more than half way now and cant wait to finish it. im at the chapter called childs play. i cant wait for the next book to come out. this has been one of the best series i have read in a while.
