Name: - Soleil (So-lay, called Lei affectionately.)

Age: - 19 (Ages through RP’s)

Gender: - Female

Skills: Solar Flare- Soleil can randomly create bursts of energy that will blow enemies away or cause them to catch flame, depending on how she influences the energy. She can control it from a tiny trickle, to a full scale explosion. It isn’t an extremely powerful burst of energy, though it is often bright and blinding to others. She doesn’t have to rest after using this ability. (OOC: Similar to Caete’s Concussion skill.)

Solar Eclipse- Being naturally affiliated with the sun, Soleil can draw off the energy it provides (OOC: Much like a solar powered light.) This causes her to be more powerful during the day, yet consequently weakens her immensely at night. This is a one-time attack that she can use at night, or during the day. It focuses ALL of her strength and power to make a last ditch effort to survive a fight, or anything really. The effect lasts around fifteen minutes. During these fifteen minutes her strength and speed are increased dramatically, and she seems even more feral than when she is uninfluenced by this skill. Her eyes glow unnaturally, and along with that so does the sun tattoo on her cheek. Her tattoo which is naturally black will glow an unusually bright red, like coals.

Instant Transmission- She got this skill from her father, the shade. It allows her to disappear, then reappear somewhere else. It has a slight drain on her energy, but not enough to require rest after its use. She has not yet perfected this skill, and she continues to discover new things about it.

Twin-liness (a term coined by Saph and myself): Soleil, always has a sense of the general direction and well-being of her twin sister, Illuna. This sharpens and becomes more focused the closer they are to each other. Within a mile of her twin, she can pinpoint her exact location and tell you if she has a thorn in her left heel or a stab wound in her upper arm. As with most twins with this ability, she can also sense her twin's emotional state, even when her own mental barriers are up.

Magic: Soleil is naturally adept at magic, though she prefers the more visceral melee battle compared to magic. She is very good at magic that is related to fire, and often things that relate to the earth. She also uses magic for more practical means, such as for holding her breath underwater, or temporary magical strengtheners.

Race: - Half-Shade, Half-Human.

Home Village: - Un-named village on the largest Island off of Mainland Alagaesia’s coast.

Character Personality: Soleil is a very unforgiving person. She is cruel and cold to most people, simply because she finds it hard to stand them. She has very high values when it comes to other people, and she can’t help but lash out when those expectations are not met. She seems bitter, when she is first introduced to someone (usually someone she only suffers for her sister), however it is that she is truly intolerable of others. It takes a long time, and an intense series of events in order for her to consider someone her friend. She is a huge fan of intimidation, and though she isn’t the most eloquent of people, she can talk her way into and out of almost anything. She enjoys inflicting pain on people, but usually she’ll hold back for Illuna’s sake. Although she does find uses in people, and by pure accident, will occasionally befriend someone. She is the exact opposite of Illuna, in every way. She wouldn’t have it any other way either. She firmly believes that her lifestyle, searching for power, is the correct one for her, and she wouldn’t stop unless she died, or she was wounded in a way that would cause her to become cripple. Even then she may not stop. She is a very determined person, and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals.

Character History: Soleil’s mother gave birth to her and Illuna on the largest of the Islands off of Alagaesia’s coast. Her mother was a seamstress in the village, making sails for boats along with clothes for the citizens. Their father was a shade with maroon hair and eyes. Their mother was oddly attracted to him despite their differences. He, like Soleil, was a wanderer, and did not stay long, despite his marriage to their mother.

Throughout their childhood he sporadically came and went, leaving for years and then staying for months. It was a happy childhood to grow up in, because Soleil learned a lot. She learned to read people, and her father, she learned to fight, and believe in things. She was a fiery spirit, always passionate, and outgoing. She excelled at things, even in her youth and she was well loved for it.

When her father was home, he trained with them tirelessly. Teaching them of their strange mixed-blood and the powers that came with it. She learned to control her instant transmission and to enhance her natural sun-affiliated abilities. She approved of her father’s ability to avoid choosing favorites between the two, because Soleil loved her twin just as much as she loved her mother and her father.

Soleil was a insightful youth, and she could see the happiness in her mother’s eyes when they were a family. Because of this she could also see the tension leading up to her mother’s death. The day her mother died two-hundred men had come to their town asking for Tedren’s head. In the onslaught of fighting, their mother was killed, and Soleil went mad. She doesn’t know how many she killed, and that point she hadn’t cared, after all, what was their blood compared to her mother’s? She remembered having to be restrained when the last of them tried to scamper away. She remembered wanting to rip his head from his shoulders, simply because he was there.

She was so angry, she lost sight of her youthful joy. She refused to let that happen again, thus she let the village, and parted ways with her beloved sister. Since then she has trained constantly, honing her skills and gaining important knowledge to survive and cut her way to the top of the chain.

Weapons: Soleil’s main weapons are her Tiger Claws, which are attached to her arm braces. They extend around six inches from her knuckles and there are four blades in all attached to the metal arm encasings. The blades themselves are enchanted to never break, along with the entire metal system that holds them together. They are on both of her arms/hands. She has adapted a very feral fighting style, which matches her personality, in order to wield these effectively.
Besides her Tiger Claws, she has an assortment of throwing knives hidden all over her body. They have a trace spell on them so she can find them after she’s thrown them. They are all black and red, on both the blades and the handles.

Likes: - Illuna, starting fights, insulting people.

Dislikes: - Losers, blind idiots (metaphorically blind, not literally), weak people.

Weakness / Fear: - Her only real weakness is her problem with the night-time, along with the hold that people can gain over her through her sister. She fears that one day her sister will get hurt.

Animal Companions: - Veer- Veer is a huge black wolf. He has natural flames that surround his paws and also the tip of his tail. His eyes are the same maroon as Soleil. He is massive, about as tall as Soleil at his shoulder. She often rides him when she is tired, or when she’s bored. Their friendship is an odd one. They share similar personality traits, yet don’t clash. They are constantly in sync with each other, and communicate easily. He is an intelligent being, and communicates through thoughts.

Character's Physical Description: Soleil is around 5 foot 6 inches, with a solid build. She isn’t too thin, but she has enough muscle to do damage and avoid making her look like a stick. From a distance, her hair looks a little shabby, but when seen up-close its natural sharp-ish style is a little daunting. Her eyes are striking, and often make it seem like she can look into a person’s soul. More often than not, Soleil is wearing black clothing. She wears black combat boots that have metal inlays to protect her feet and her legs without having to wear clunky armor. She does wear arm braces and very light, yet strong, breastplate. The runes in the middle are in a foreign language and represent strength.

Dreams for the Future: - To become almost impossibly strong.
