on my cruze i met a british kid named jack. the whole time he was their i couldnt stop laughing. i want to go to england and listen to their acsents becaus i like them. i also like the way you say somebody likes you. you say that somebody " fancys " you. priceless.

Hi Firetongue! I'm finally finished with this semester, so I guess I'll be around a little more.

In America, sneakers are what you guys call trainers.
sidewalks- I have no clue how you guys call it
soccer- it also played and the word is used in Europe

lol, it'd be trainers, paths, football and autumn.

I know about the trainers thanks to the Harry Potter books. The sidewalks are called that way because they are at the side of the roads and just for pedestrians. Paths here can be used for a number of things and circumstances. Football here is VERY diffrent from soccer and guys just LOVE it. I never could understand it. LOL As for Fall we use both. I guess someone was just to lazy to write the whole word and made it short. But in Puerto Rico, we were taught that the correct name of the season was Autumn.

When I came to live in the United States a few years ago, I had a very hard time understanding what people said. Even now, I sometimes don't understand what they say. Some people just kind of "chew up" the words and it's very hard.
In the town where I live, we have a wonderful diversity cultures, so as I have been working in the bookstore I have met wonderful people. I have friends from Indonesia, Skri Lanka, the Philliphines,
Scotland, Poland and Ireland. From this side of the world I have friends from Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Haiti, Panama and El Salvador.

It's been a very intresting experience.

Football is one game and Rugby is another but closely related.

The difference is that with football you are allowed to used your hand to throw the ball, in soccer there is no hand contact allowed and rugby I don't really know.

I like Dirt bikes, basketball, baseball and that's about it. I am not too much of a sports fan.

The same thing happens with Spanish. I come from Latin America and the Spanish spoken in South and Central America can be very different.

i don't have a prob. understanding him. but that is why they have subtitles. they are there if u need them.

I totally agree; unfortunately the English language is being butchered by the new generation, and since I was taught the proper English at home, people look at me as if I were an alien or something similar. We were taught to use the thesaurus constantly, so many times my vocabulary is larger than those of other people and to that you can add up the fact that I read A LOT!! If I do not know the definition of the word, I look it up and write it in the margin of the page.
When the pronounciation is a problem, I go online to the Merriam-Webster Online dictionary and it solves my problem.

I have a combination of new age and your age (don't want to say old age cause it wasn't that long ago) vocabulary.

i've lived in a few places. so i sound southern in the north. and not vey southern in the south (some think i'm yankee, which i was born in maryland)
and in arizona they just thought i souded funny but they didn't make as big a deal as when i use to visit my dad in northern ny.

LOL I can totally relate! I was born in New York, but my family moved to Puerto Rico when I was six. I lived there until a couple of years ago and here in Chicago, people still can guess I am from the east coast. They say they can pick up the New York accent (WHATEVER ).

ive had X-BOX live for a while now. im not going to buy anouther trial for it. its realy freakn stupid now. all those objective lvls, like captsure the flag and assalt. their just stupid! when i sighn on to live i expect games were i get to shoot and kill people! like team swat! and team slayer on lockout! i want those games! and now days, every body has a freakn mod! they ruin the game play by cheating and the administrators arnt doing crap about it! the feed back on some one who cheated is usless. had you left feed back on them 2 years ago, you woud have seen them banned from live.
