OH-MY-GOODNESS! these books r SOOOOO corny!! none of r.l. stine's books hav ever made me feel even a little bit scared!! they're jus so unrealistic and cliche!! in ever single book, the main character is 13 years old and they always solve the problem, but in the very last paragraph, something bad happens and then the book jus ends! it gets so annoying after u read a couple books!!

They are really bad books, but I didn't have a very analytical brain when I was about 7, so I used to read them all the time. I don't think any of them really scared me though, but they kept me entertained while it lasted.

To be fair, young children like repetition and routine- it feels safe and stable, so every book does have a similar plot and style, or else very young children probably wouldn't like it very much, and might get bored. They're not really aimed at people of our age, so I'm not going to complain lol.
