Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC: To start, this topic will just be me and dracoaestas...perhaps more after the story picks up a little.
Bahamut was flying in a random direction, enjoying the skies to himself. He was gazing at the land...wondering what could have possibly changed since he was gone. He was slightly curious to this two legs "Galbatorix" he has heard so much about. Thinking about it now, he was even more interested than he realized. So he decided to head to the dark capitol itself. However he would raise a panic in his current state so he had an idea.
Bahamut landed in a desolate area, making sure he couldnt be seen. Which was rather difficult because of his sheer size but he took refuge under large trees. Using magic, he morphed himself into, what appeared to be, an elf. Ugh... to think I would be so curious that I would turn myself into a a tiny two legs. Oh well...it is done. Bahamut had most similar features to most elves. His hair was black and long, he had yellow eyes. One distinct feature he had was a scar over his right eye. He recieved that from one of his fights from his brother Darumar a very long time ago. He wasnt very muscular, very leaned and toned. Ironically he was stronger when it came to strength. Even though Bahamut was very old, his appearances were the exact opposite. He looked about 17 or 18 by human standards. Bahamut looked around and also stretched himself out. Two legs are so tiny... it feels so strange this size. After finishing, he began walking to make his way out of the forest. Suddenly he stopped, hearing something.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC: I think I'll use Solarae. She could be more useful in going into a city, mainly because of her small size.
IC: A small, fiery orange dragoness was perched in a large tree in the main part of the Empire. She was much smaller than an average dragon; smaller in stature than even a human. She had decided to use her size to her advantage, however. She had escaped from Alagaesia during the fall, but now she wanted to see the true state of the capital city.
Solarae suddenly heard a loud whoosh of air and an immense, bipedal dragon landed amidst the tall trees. She drew her head up and clung harder to the branch, startled. Solarae felt small around normal dragons, but this was ridiculous. She was curious when the dragon transformed himself into an elf.
Solarae sidled along the branch, intending to drop down to lower branches until she reached the bottom. She wanted to talk to this dragon; find out what he was doing. As she moved, though, a dead twig was broken off the main branch and fell to the forest floor, hitting other branches on the way with audible cracks. Solarae froze, and hoped the dragon/elf would be inclined to talk rather than attack. She had no idea if he was allied with the Empire or not, and didn't desire to find out the hard way.
Um... hi, she said, smiling.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut saw that it was a dragon....a very small one at that. He looked at her curiously and inclined his head slightly.
"What is it you seek flame scales?"
He was rather curious of Solarae, she was extremely small compared to other dragons. Hmm, perhaps its best I shouldnt think that way, I mean I am the largest dragon alive she must be the smallest. Intresting.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae relaxed. Perhaps this dragon was simply curious about the nearby city, as she was. He was obviously very powerful in magic as well as physically, so she didn't want him to be an enemy.
I wanted to check out the city. I stopped in this forest to hunt a little while ago, and then you came crashing in. So why are you here? she asked bluntly, Name's Solarae, by the way. Solarae prided herself in always getting to the point quickly, despite the fact that she might sound rude.

Bahamut smiled slightly. "I wanted to see what the fuss was about this Galbatorix..." "I have been gone so long I really dont know much about this current world right now. So I wanted to see what this city was like." He looked at her more closely. Hmm she seems to be interested as well. Bahamut turned away for a moment, "Well if your going to come along you should transform yourself also, going around in that form you will be spotted easily...despite your size. I amy have chosen an elf but now I wont be looked at so closely."

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae nodded, and began jumping from branch to branch down the tree. I knew you must be ancient, to not know about Galbatorix. He killed my parents. I left when he was wreaking his havoc, so I'm not aware of the current state of things either. Though probably more-so than you, she said as she leapt. She soon reached the last branch and fell gracefully to the forest floor.
I've never turned myself into a hominid before. Hmm, this could take a few minutes, she said, By the way, isn't it almost as dangerous to enter the city as an elf than as a dragon? Last I heard, Galbatorix wasn't so loving of elves... Solarae then concentrated, finding her connection to the ancient dragon magic.
A faint fiery aura surrounded her as she turned. Her shape grew more upright and her neck shortened. Her face shortened as well and re-aligned to face forwards. Her tail gradually dissappeared. Finally, she assumed the shape of a young female elf in a light brown and orange tunic. She had the same sky-blue eyes, and her hair was a mixture of gold and orange, though more natural versions of the colors. She had two elegant and sharp daggers at her sides in case of battle, and she also had a rust-colored cloak for stealth.
That should do it, she said. She practiced twirling the daggers around, thinking of them as claws in order to get the hang of using them.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut watched as Solarae transform into an elf. Suddenly he felt strange looking at her. She did very well doing that for the first time. She looked a bit younger than he did, perhaps 15 or 16.
Hmmm, never really been attracted to a female before. He shook his head slightly from spacing out. I shouldnt worry about such absurd things right now. "Solarae was it..? I am known as Bahamut. Come, let us make our way to the city."

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae nodded, then smiled. It's never really been in my nature to "lay low", but I'll give it a shot, she said as she smiled.
Solarae had been somewhat surprised at the speed at which she transformed. But she guessed that being very close in dimensions and mass to her elf shape helped quite a bit.
Solarae tucked the daggers safely away and out of sight, but not out of easy reach. "I... I suppose we'll... have to talk out loud..." she stuttered, not used to such speech, Around others, anyway. Silent people often arouse suspicion, so we can't do all mind speech.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
"Heh, nor have I as you could plainly tell." He stared at her for a moment as she smiled.
"Talking out loud is not as difficult as you think it is. It's almost the same thing as your mind you just are projecting it our of your mouth and movements with your lips." "Most of the time we can use our minds to talk, but if we need to we shouldnt have a problem." Bahamut sighed slightly, I have been in the form only moments and I am already begining to sound like a two legs with their cunning and complicated use of words. My emotions seemed to be more controlled as well... its so strange to change so suddenly... I feel so more calm and quiet than I used to be. Two-legs are so boring...they should learn to act on impulse more.
Bahamut eyed as Solarae was fingering her daggers. "I suppose since you are not bi-pedal as I am you are more used to using your teeth than your arms. Think of them as extensions of your arm...like claws from your fingers."

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
I was thinking of something like that. And I actually use my claws and tail more than my teeth. I'm so small, I try to attack in flight rather than on the ground, she said, So I suppose I won't be completely hopeless with these things. Maybe I can learn to throw them, that could be useful.
Solarae took a few unsteady steps. She would need to get the hang of walking upright quickly if she was to move stealthily through the city. Luckily, she had a good sense of balance, and the elf form added enough grace to her natural abilities that she soon got the hang of walking and jogging. She tried a few short hops up and down, and then a small leap from jogging. She continued running and jumping for a while and then tried to jump over a log.
Though elves were naturally strong, they weren't as strong as her dragon form. Solarae overestimated her strength and wound up tripping a little at the end of her jump, ending up on one knee. Ow... there's just not enough balance or power this way. Four legs are so much better... no offense, she said, shaking her head and laughing at her clumsiness.
Before we go, I'd like to try one more thing, Solarae said, in a more serious tone than before. She had to be sure she still had her natural abilities. She obviously wouldn't be able to breathe fire anymore, but perhaps she still regained the control over fire that made her unique. Solarae concentrated, but found it just as easy to before to make the flames swirl around her and move to her every whim. Despite her size, Solarae still had gifts that not all dragons could lay claim to. Her flame was extremely powerful, as powerful as a dragon from the ancient world.
Solarae blasted apart the log she had tripped on with fire. Conjuring and controlling the flame left her with no energy loss, as it should. She smiled, satisfied. Alright, I'm ready. Let's go.

Bahamut watched amusingly as Solarae was trying to get her balanace. He laughed slightly as she fell. Then he watched intregingly as she used powerflames to destroy the log that tripped her.
"Impressive..." Bahamut walked over to her and grabbed her arm, lifting her onto her feet. "As for balance, you are keeping your legs too straight and stiff, you need to bend your knees more so you do not fall so easily. I have to keep my knees bent all the time, the weight of my wings and tail would make me fall on my back if I stood completely straight upward."
He let go of her arm and turned away slightly. "So, what makes you so curious about going with me?"

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae shook herself and brushed off some leaves that had stuck to her. Ick. These things never stuck to my scales like this, she thought. Thanks to the advice, Bahamut, and to answer your question, for one, it's always safer to travel in pairs. For another thing, I like making friends and allies. And to put it bluntly, you'd make a good ally. Lastly, I'm kind of curious about your opinion of the city. I'm going there for the first time as well, she said.
Solarae wouldn't admit just how curious she was about the city and this dragon. Her immense curiousity often put her in trouble, but she didn't care. She also secretly thought that the exploration would be more fun with someone else along, but she wasn't sure if Bahamut really wanted to have "fun".

Bahamut listened quietly as she spoke. "I guess that makes sense. Oh, by the way, try to get used to talking. I know it's easier to speak with the mind but you will have to learn eventually."
"There is no need to rush, try practicing a little longer."

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
"You're probably right. I'd look pretty sus-spic-ee-us if I couldn't hold up a simple con-ver-say-shun," she said, laughing at her need to over-enunciate some words, "I'll get it, don't worry." Solarae continued laughing. It was weird, not hearing a rough, breathy sound when she tried to convey her laughter in dragon form. Her voice sounded smoother, the elf form making it almost melodic.
Solarae paced around a little, finally getting used to walking upright. "I think I look acceptable by now," she stated with a smile. Walking was beginning to feel mechanical, and she knew no one could tell that she was different by her movement, anymore.

Bahamut watched as Solarae continued working on walking and speaking. He found it amusing at her attempts, "Hopefully we wont get drawn into a conversation where talking doesnt get too complicated."
Bahamut stood up, "I think we are ready. Let's go." He began walking in the direction of the city with Solarae behind him. They reached the city gates, which happened to be well guarded. They made their way cautiously into the capital. Some of the guards gave them a bit of a look but paid no mind to them.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae laughed and fell into step behind Bahamut. She looked at the nearing city gates with awe; she had never been this close to the city before. She felt no fear, only her usual sense of excitement and recklessness. She didn't pay much mind to the guards, and strode forward with confidence. She had learned many important things in her travels, and one was that if you look like you're supposed to be doing whatever you're doing, people will rarely question you.
Solarae forced back a smile at the thought. Galbatorix's guards certainly weren't the type to be curious. They probably didn't go out of their way too often to question visitors. Solarae gazed around with interest as the pair entered the city.

Bahamut couldnt really understand why Solarae was so happy, but he didnt bother asking. He did find the city interesting, despite what he had heard about the tyrant seeking total control. The people did not seem very troubled. Hmm, I wouldnt be suprised if he bends the truth or even their minds for that matter.. Bahamut looked back at Solarae who was smiling the entire time. "You alright?"

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC: lol, Solarae's a little crazy IC: "Hmm? Oh, sorry. I like exploring, and I like the sense of danger that I get in this place; it's exciting. Don't be surprised if I act slightly reckless," she said happily. Solarae didn't mind that she sounded a little crazy. Most dragons going for their first foray into this evil place (if they were brave or foolish enough to go at all) wouldn't really appreciate the dangerous vibes they were getting from these surroundings. Solarae, however, wasn't feeling any fear or dread at all. Maybe I should work on that... this body isn't quite as hardy as mine, she realized.
"And I'll warn you if I decide to do something really crazy," she said. She didn't want her curiousity and low sense of danger to get someone else in trouble.

"That's alright, I like that quality in you." He didnt know why he said that, they really dont know eachother that well but he liked her. As they were walking around, he didnt really know what he wanted to look for. Only so far was just walking around. For some odd reason though he enjoyed it. Do two leg's feel like this all the time? He didnt know what to think of it.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut seemed to be in a happy mood. "Perhaps we'll get along quite well, then. If you aren't daunted by the prospect of me wanting to get into every "forbidden" room and locked chamber," she said, laughing. The elf form seemed to let her happiness flow more than she was used to, but it didn't bother her.
Solarae glanced around the dull, gray streets, looking for any point of interest. She saw lots of doors into mostly boring-looking shops, but nothing that caught her eye. Suddenly, however, she spotted a door with a large, ominous-looking padlock on it. "I may stay truer to that word sooner than I thought," she said, motioning inconspicuously to the locked door. She sidled over swiftly to investigate, making sure no one was looking.

Bahamut wasnt sure if it was a good to just wander in to a locked door but his curiousity was great as well, so he watched as Solarae began to pick away at the lock.
He thought to himself, why would they have a locked place in the middle of the town. What could they possibly hide that they cant hold in their keep?
Two legs...again never going to understand him. He realized he was just staring at Solarae the entire time when he probably should be looking out for guards.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae grinned evilly when she heard a small click and the lock popped open. Her dragon claws were dexterous, but not as dexterous as these elf hands. She had been working at the lock with a piece of thick wire.
Solarae quietly slipped the lock off the door and put it in her cloak so that no one would notice that this door was suppossed to be locked. Wanna go in? I got rid of the padlock, she said to Bahamut, using mind speech to hide her intentions from passersby.

Bahamut was a little reluctant, but then he walked into the once locked building. He looked around, the building was very worn out. The wooden floors were very dusty, the stone walls had cracks in it. Inside there were many locked wooden and iron crates.
"It looks like a place of storage... but what could they possibly put in here?" Bahamut eyed a stone staircase that led underground somewhere at the other side of the room.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae grinned and slipped inside, closing the door silently after them. She gazed around the room in interest. Seeing this many secrets waiting to be revealed excited her. She immediately walked to a large, locked crate and brushed her mind over it, looking for magical traps.
"What better place to hide something than in plain sight?" she replied to Bahamut, "There could be loads of stuff in here, but there's only one way to find out what." Solarae finished her inspection for traps and was satisfied that there weren't any. She picked the lock of the crate with relative ease, still overjoyed at the new dexterity she had. She removed it and scanned once more, just to be safe. Solarae opened the crate.
Inside was a very strange looking stone. It looked like it was cooled from molten lava, but what properties it had or what purpose it served remained unknown. "Weird..." she said, wondering what the thing did.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Perhaps, but yet it's so lightly guarded. I dont even sense magic wards or traps. Whatever was left here...was most likely wanted to be forgotten. Bahamut decided this time to speak with his mind since they wanted to stay hidden so keeping quiet would be best.
He walked over to where Solarae was, wondering what she was looking at. It was an odd looking stone, Even I dont know what this could be. Losing interest, Bahamut walked back to the other side of the room to where the staircase was he had noticed before. Solarae. He beckoned her to come over. This seems to lead deep underground at least 200 feet. It could be a underground passageway around the city...maybe even to the keep.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae stood up and grinned when Bahamut motioned to the staircase. Well, this calls for only one action, she said, not giving any thought to the fact that she was being completely reckless and disregarding of safety.
Solarae examined the odd stone one more time, then put it back in the crate. Whatever that thing is, it must not do much if it's in here, she thought. She replaced the lid and lock carefully just in case someone checked and then walked over to Bahamut and the stairs.
Hmm. Do you sense any potentially fatal traps? Because I don't, at least not yet, she said, glancing from him to the steps leading into the darkness below.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
No... as I said it seems whatever is hear is meant to be forgotten...so why place traps? Bahamut begna making his way down the stairs with Solarae behind him. Eventually it turned into a winding circular staircase. The stairs were very long, they walked for about 20 minutes until they reached the bottom. They found themsleves in a giant hallway lit by torches. Oddly the flames were green instead of orangish-yellow. The hallway seemed to be endless.
Bahamut gazed down the hallway, It goes on for at least 2 miles, there are many side paths in the walls as well. Also this place was much deeper than I expected. The hallway stretched from about 60 feet wide and 90 feet tall. Hmm, the must storage large amounts of things down here if these halls are so big...
Bahamut sensed around, he couldnt feel any life anywhere, not even above ground. The walls are too thick.. the only one I can sense is Solarae. It's hard to tell if there is some one...or..something.. is down here. Being underground makes it difficult and the walls are very thick. Obviously this place was built to last thousands of years.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae gazed at the dark tunnels. They felt strangely familiar, for they reminded her of a place she had seen in the far east. I think you're right. But why is that passage meant to be forgotten? Are other passages down here still in use? she asked these questions simply to voice her curiousity out loud. She didn't expect Bahamut to have any answers.
The flames look magic. It's possible that they're the "never-burn-out" kind, and that maybe these tunnels haven't been used in a long time. Then again, it's very hard to tell if anyone's been down here recently, she said. Solarae walked to the dark earthen wall and felt it with her hand. The stone felt cold and hard; very hard. It didn't crumble under her hand at all, even when she traced a small path along it with fire on the tip of her finger. It was definately meant to be sturdy and long-lasting. But was it still being used for its original purpose?

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
I dont know.. but the stone work seems very old yet its craftsmen ship is masterful. Perhaps the short-legs built them..err..dwarves. They have always been fond of the underground and building great things. Reasons why they were all the way out here, I do not know. They havent really been known to leave the mountains but a few times. There have been myths that the dwarves were actually the first ones in Alagaesia long before the elves. It has been said that they only lived underground in caves....never seeing the light of day. I do not know if it's actually true..but what I do know is they began to surface over the years after the elves established themselves. Maybe because they feared us Dragons, afraid that they would be our pray. It's possible but I dont think it to be. My kin never mentioned any "short two-legs", and the first time I saw a dwarf as many many years after the pact between the elves and dragons.
Bahamut looked around as they slowly kept walking forward. He looked at each side pathway they passed. Each one went a good distance than met a dead end with a turn. For an hour or so they walked, Bahamut saw ahead that the hallway led to a very large chamber. As they reached it, the path before them became a stone bridge. The chamber was gigantic...Bahamut in his orginal dragon form could fit inside with ease, he could even fly around a little. Off to the sides of the bridges were more torches of green and to the sides and under the stone bridge was a black gaping abyss. The bridge led to a large circular stone plateau. Could easily fit Bahamut and more. On the other side of the pillar was another stone bridge that lead into another stone hallway...that could lead on for a while.
Bahamut lookced off to the side of the stone pathway. The black abyss seemed so daunting..it looked as if it could reach the center of the earth. He kicked a stone pebble off. It was consumed in darkness in seconds. He waited...and waited. He heard absoulely nothing.
What could possibly be this place?
OOC: Wow... I havent done that long of a post in a while.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC: lol, good work. IC: Solarae followed Bahamut, glancing into every side-tunnel and wondering what they led to. However, it was wisest to stay on the main path, and staying on it would probably yield more interesting results.
Solarae's eyes widened a little when the entered the immense chamber. She had never seen an underground cavern quite this large before, especially not a crafted one. She watched Bahamut kick a stone into the everlasting blackness below. She moved near it and followed his example, except this time dropping a small fireball. The small orange light fell, and fell, and fell... until it grew too far away and she couldn't even see a pinprick anymore.
Wow... lucky I'm not a real twolegs, she said, imagining the horrible fear anyone would feel when falling hopelessly into that.
As they grew nearer to the center of the room, still crossing the long bridge, it started, once again, to feel eerily familiar. Solarae wasn't sure what this meant yet, though, so she kept walking.
I met a couple dwarves in the far east. They seemed to think that they were here before the elves as well. It's pretty hard to tell though... they spend so much of their time underground that they could be here for a millenia and no one would notice, as long as they stayed in their homes.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC:Hmmm, I have an interesting idea.
Bahamut lifted his head slightly as they continued to walk in the tunnel. I sense some one straight ahead... and they are coming this way..
Quick move! Bahamut shoved Solarae into one of the side hallways and pushed his hand on her chest to make sure she didnt move. This is one of the times he didnt want her to be curious and peek her head out from the side. Bahamut inched his head out so only an eye was past the wall. Eventually he could see a person walking in their direction. Behind him was a silverish-white dragon following.
Kuja sighed slightly, "I swear...whoever designed this place is an idiot, you get lost so easily in here." Selris replied, Well it was meant to confuse outsiders, and only ones who built it and their followers know it's secrets. "What could they possibly hide down here? This place is so dead not even insects dare crawl in it." Who knows, but Galbatorix said he sensed something down here many years ago. He sent soldiers to look for it but nothing was found....neither were the soldiers. Now he says he sensed it once more. "Ha, the fool is just senile if you ask me. However I was a bit curious when I saw this place. Honestly though...I dont get how you can sense anything in this place. The walls are far too thick...so obviously whoever built this place didnt like magic users." In anycase we should keep looking.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae moved willingly around the corner when Bahamut pushed her. This dragon was experienced enough to know danger when he saw it, and Solarae wasn't stupid enough to just wave hello to everyone who came around. She was about to say something along those lines to Bahamut when she heard approaching footsteps from beyond their corridor. She could hear the small, double-striding footsteps of a hominid, and the larger, four-footed steps of a dragon. She could scent dragon in the air, too.
Solarae listened to the pair's conversation, growing louder as they neared where Solarae and Bahamut were hiding. Do you know this rider and dragon? she asked Bahamut, wondering if he was hiding for a more specific reason than to stay unnoticed.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut listened in on their conversation. So...apparently this "Galbatorix" isnt the one who had this place made. So it must be anchient then. He withdrew his head slightly and looked at Solarae. No, I do not...they are not very old. However I cannot tell what the limit of their strength is, not because of the walls but they're hiding their energies. Only those with great skill in magic are able to do so. So we must use caution, magic is not one of my stronger points. My abilities are strong but my variety is very limited. Most of my battles I merely use my strength or overwealming fire attacks. As you know dragons cannot always use magic on will so I have not faced many magic users except elves.
Bahamut wasnt sure what to do, normally he would just charge in like he always did but this time was different. They were facing opponents with strong magic affliction...and Bahamut had become less reckless in this form he was currently in.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae would have charged straight into battle in her dragon form, unafraid of any challenge the pair posed. But this form was weak physically. Solarae still had her power of fire, and her astounding energy stores, but she wasn't up to her normal level of fighting hand-to-hand since she had to get used to these weak arms and daggers instead of claws. And this body didn't have nearly the protection her dragon one did... and the tail blade... what she wouldn't give for the leaf-shaped blade at the end of her dragon form's tail. It was deadly sharp.
Solarae was frustrated. Whoever these two were, they were most likely enemies if they were associated with Galbatorix. That, of course, made Solarae want to attack. But she couldn't...
Maybe we should follow them. They mentioned something about Galbatorix sensing something down here, something that possibly caused the deaths of several of his soldiers, she said, knowing that following inconspicuously was probably wiser than jumping out and attacking.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut comtimplated what to do, perhaps they should follow but it would have to be done very carefully. I suppose we should...but it will not be an easy task. We have to keep a good distance, but not too far behind because we can lose them easily. We cant track them by sensing them...that is nigh impossible. Their scent perhaps but there is no air circulation down here so we will lose it quickly if we dont keep up. I still dont know how we are going to follow them though, the gap betweens hallways are too large. So if they decide to turn around it will be difficult to hide.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Well, I want to follow them, despite the challenge of staying hidden. Besides, if they turn around and it looks like we can't beat them or escape in this form, we can always change back, she said, grinning somewhat evilly at the thought of changing into a fierce little fire dragon and blowing her enemies apart in bursts of flame.
Perhaps I could revert back and follow along closer, but near the ceiling; in the shadows where I won't be seen. I'll stay far enough away so that you can follow me while I'm following them, so that you won't be noticed. My dragon form is pretty stealthy, especially from what I did back in the East, she suggested, Could that work?

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
You could change back easily, but it is not so for me. The only place I would fit is that chamber we had past. As for escaping, if I did turn back, It would be difficult as well. The walls are very thick and even after that I would have to dig through the earth. I may be big as a mountain but that doesnt mean I could move one. I dont even know what these stones are made of. Perhaps they have magical properties like the seal I was trapped in. If that the case...any abilities I use could deflect right back at me. In my prison I had plenty of room to move when that happened but here....
Bahamut's suddenly got a headache thinking of every possibility. Accursed elves and their ways...

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Well, that's what I'm saying. I could change back to my dragon form temporarily, but you could stay in your elf form so that you'll still fit down the passages. I could fly along in the shadows and follow them, and you could follow me from a safe distance. I could also come back and show you the right way to go, if you get too far behind, Solarae said. She was growing more and more curious about what kind of thing could be in the dark tunnels and catacombs.
Anyway, if we want to follow them, we should get going pretty quickly. Otherwise they'll be out of range soon, she pressed.

Bahamut was hesitant but then agreed. Fine. He didnt like it, he was concerned. I dont understand why I am being so different. Does my personality...emotions...my thoughts change that much in this form?
Two legs are so confusing...
Bahamut waited for Solarae to get ready. He didnt know why but he felt concern for her.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Alright, then. This shouldn't take as long as it did going into this form, Solarae said. A faint light shone from her, as if she were lit with fire, and her body slowly changed into her dragon form. The last change, the lengthening of her wings, finally ended, and the light faded away. Solarae was shorter in this form than in her elf one.
Solarae smiled encouragingly and fluttered into the air with the silence of an owl. Don't worry, I'll be careful, she said, sensing some of Bahamut's concern. Let's go.
Solarae glided up into the shadowy corners of the hall. She flew into the main one, where the ceiling was high enough for her to disappear effectively. She flapped seldomly, mostly just gliding in a zig-zag pattern to stay quiet. She slowly caught up with the rider and dragon, going as close as she dared, but staying far enough behind so that Bahamut could follow.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja had stopped talking to Selris while figuring out a plan of direction of sorts. He looked down each hallway they passed. Suddenly he stopped, "Selris wait up a second..."
What is it?
He waited a moment then shook his head, "Nothing....I am just being paranoid, let's keep moving."
Bahamut kept up while trying not to get noticed. He froze completely when they stopped. He sighed slightly as they continued on. He watched Solorae moving quietly near the ceiling. I hope we find something soon.... I keep feeling concerned for her. Gah what are these thoughts.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae knew silence was of the utmost importance. She managed to stay almost perfectly quiet, but she was still slightly nervous. Oh well. At least I'd be able to defend myself in this form. My elf form wouldn't be able to fight effectively against those two, she thought. She darted from shadow to shadow, making sure that she was safe to pass into each one. The deep shadows in the corners of the hallway hid her well, but there were small areas of light here and there that made her progress slow.
Solarae glanced back now and again to make sure Bahamut was still following. She didn't want him to get lost. Then they'd both be on their own in these dark, mysterious, and potentially dangerous catacombs. Solarae stayed observant, wondering what could lurk in such a dark and rarely-seen place.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja stopped and looked at a hallway off to a side. "This hallway...the air is much denser here. Let's have a look." Kuja walked down with Selris close behind him. The hallway consisted of many turns and it also began to shrink. The hallway stopped just before Selris couldnt fit. They walked in a straight path now. The green-lit torches were becoming more dark and hazy. After a while they reached a dead end. Kuja looked around the walls, after insepcting it he found a lever. He looked at Selris for a moment and then pulled it. The floor began to lower quickly benethe them. "It's an elevator.."
It dropped about 200 feet leading into another hallway. After stepping off the elevator, it rose back up to the top.
(Will post more later, need to go atm.)

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb sniffed the air and let the separate smells reach her sensitive nose. She smelled another shade. Her eyes became a dark blood red. She felt energy crackle as the elevator she had just stepped off opened and revealed dark forms.
She didn't want to chance an encounter so she effectively hid her whole being from them and then stood behind a wall and listened with her good hearing as they came forwards. Reb had come exploring down here, not in search of another being, but of her own.
She was on the edge about to fall off. Not the edge of evil, the edge of insanity. The dark voice in her mind was growing stronger, the souls that had been entrapped by evil that had taken residence in her body, the souls Zantya had left behind. All good but one. That one was strong, a very dark being, and she wished to eradicate it, but she didn't know how to do that without eradicating all she was in the process. She worked at freeing the good souls, but she could never release the dark one without endangering all around. She was stuck.
In her momentarily lapse into self doubt, she released a rather loud sigh into the night, and then all was silent. They had stopped.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut kept following slowly along the hallway. Eventually he found a dead end. Where did they go..? He searched around and found a small lever, he could feel the floor below him wasnt as dense as before. Possibly it moves down. Solarae must have gone ahead to follow. He sighed slightly, her curiousity got the best of her I suppose. Hopefull I'll find her soon. Bahamut pulled the lever and he descended downward.
Once at the bottom, he stepped off and looked around. The hallways were much more dimmly lit and there seemed to be a strange smell in the air. Hmmm, I know this smell...it's faint but it is rot and decay. Odd, normally decaying process lasts only a few years from a body then it is merely bone to dust. It could be a magic spell to enduce it. Perhaps even a warning for those to not go any further. He continued on in either case, as he did, the architecture of the stone hallways began to change. The stones was mixed with bones and skulls ranging from various sizes. Eventually the walls began dividing into square sections seperated by bone columns. At the center of each squate was a skull missing their jaws. The most grueling thing was the eye sockets were glowing very very dimmly with green orbs of light. He wasnt sure but he could hear faint whispers enter his mind. They were too quiet to make out, but they were bothering him. It wasnt constant either it was only every so often. After a while Bahamut came to what appeared to be a dead end. There was a stone mural on the ending wall with the anchient language on it. It was very twisted and unsmooth and some of the words were off slightly, but he managed to translate it. "Be cautious of what you seek, the walls and floors will lie to you. Your eyes blind you with what you see. Watch your step because it could lead to your death. Be careful of what you hear, for it could be false as well. The dead know the secrets of this place, but they could trick you into joining them. To escape these lies only the Eye of Truth will keep you alive. It is here, but where? Ask the dead. How can you tell if they are truthful? Look into their soul and see if they survive the darkness."
Bahamut stood pondering at the mural and tried to figure out what to do.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae realized she had moved too fast. As she followed the rider past the secret doorway, it had closed behind them and sealed her off from Bahamut. Oh, great. I couldn't even get close enough to see what they were doing, she thought. The rider and dragon had stopped for a while, figuring out what to do for the next door. Solarae wondered if she should go back for Bahamut.
Finally, she decided to wait and watch the rider. She would watch and see how he got past this obstacle, and when Bahamut rejoined her, she would tell him as well. Unfortunately, there was another obstacle between them, and she had no idea how to get back.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb's blood boiled in her viens, her fear palpable on the wind. She just hoped there was enough stench down in the caves to hide the smell. She would rather not die at the hands of evil, despite her desire to die, she would rather it be in the light with her friends around to avenge her.
She leaned against the crevace and slunk farther into the darkness, her sword at the ready as she waited for the discover to ring through the dark. She waited for the attack, her palms begining to burn with the fire she wanted to release at Kuja, to defend.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Bahamut just stood there contimplating what the mural could mean. What it said was just so bizzare. Why would the mural be here if this was a dead end? "The floors and walls will lie to you." He thought about it and had a crazy idea. He reached out his hand for the wall, intending to press against it. However to his amazement when he tried, his arm went straight through the wall as if it wasnt there. He walked completely through and found himself in a identical hallway. Bahamut turned and saw that the wall behind him was still there. He placed his hand out again and it went though the other side once more. It's some sort of illusion? Now he knew what the mural ment when "the floors and walls will lie to you." Now Bahamut was really paranoid because it also said floors. "Watch your step or it could lead you to your death." So the floors in places are missing but he couldnt tell where. As he walked carefully and slowly, he thought about this "Eye of Truth" it could be something that allows to see through the illusion. So all he had to do was find it.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae watched the wall in front of her, the one that the pair had most recently passed into. This wall had a specific spot that was not real, but the rest was quite solid. She fluttered back along the corridor to find Bahamut.
Solarae grinned when she found he had found his way through. At the next wall go towards the right. Most of that one is solid, but there's a place you can pass through, she said, and then hurriedly zoomed along to catch up with the rider and dragon.
Solarae flapped carefully through the illusioned part of the wall and poked her head only partway through, to check if the coast was clear. The rider and dragon were just rounding the corner ahead; she was safe. She flapped the rest of the way and moved quickly into the shadows again.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb couldn't stand waiting, so intead of standing there like a useless half wit, she walked into the ring of light and put her hands out in front of her, a sign of peace as she confronted Kuja. She put her hands behind her back slowly to make known she meant no harm. " I come here in peace and only peace." She muttered.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
After long searching of these dark hallways, Kuja ran into the last person he ever expected. Reb. Even more shockingly she was offering peace to him. Why? This makes no sense. Have these halls driven her mad or is there some deeper purpose? He wasnt exactly sure what to do, this situation was the last thing he expected. He didnt know if he would be walking into a trap or not. He looked over to Selris who was just silently staring. He looked back at Reb. "What do you want Reb? Clearly just more to shake hands with me..."
Bahamut heard Solorae and followed exactly what she said.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae was peering around the corner in the shadows near the ceiling, astonished. For Reb, rider of Star Gazer, had calmly walked out of the shadows and requested peace with the rider. Solarae also noted the confused look on his face and wondered what was going on.
She flew back a short distance to Bahamut. Be careful, she said, The rider Reb has just approached Kuja. She requested peace, but I can see that there could be trouble. Don't go around that corner up ahead unless you want to be seen. Solarae then proceeded ahead, eager to see what would happen.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb considered his question. She thoughfully crossed her arms and tapped her foot. " I have no idea what I want, I came in this cave following you, but now that I have found you, I don't know how to reply. I'm not here to harm you, or attempt to harm you. I'm just....here." Reb said then mentally slapped herself for that sounded like the ravings of a madwoman. "None of my friends/family know I'm here. You are not in a trap, no one knows." Reb said then smiled, knowing that Kuja seemed evil, but she was determined to find the real him. She knew evil had a way of taking one over, even if oneself isn't evil.

Kuja felt uneasy, she was being to open and he didnt like it. "So you are down here with no reason but just following? Well then you do have a reason and it is that you are curious what I am doing down here." Again Kuja thought this was an odd situation, Reb was an enemy, but he took no action. Selris sensed Kuja was feeling distressed. What is it? I dont know, but we should move leave from her. You're not going to fight her? Look dont ask questions. Kuja, I know how you deal with people and this isnt it. What is wrong?
Kuja didnt reply.
Bahamut remained where he was as the two legs continued their conversation.

Solarae watched the proceedings with intense curiousity. Hopefully, however this turned out, the rider would continue to his destination. He certainly looked uneasy. Reb was getting to him without really trying, she could tell. Solarae glanced around briefly, resting her gaze on Bahamut for a moment, and then turned back towards the riders.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb stared at Kuja with an innocent smile, he hadn't attacked her as was his usual reaction to someone he hated, and she was glad. She didn't want to fight him, she didn't feel like killing again, she wanted peace here in this cave, far away from the world outside that demanded she kill, demanded she utalize her shade skills, become a paid killer. She herself wasn't evil, she was a God-fearing christian and hated hurting the innocents, and she could sense a like prescence in Kuja.

Kuja was becoming annoyed, Selris, let's not argue about this now. Come we leave. He then turned back to Reb with a blank face. "You better hope this is the last time we meet, for next time I wont be so prone on letting you go unscathed." Kuja turned back to Selris and waited for him to move out of the path of the hallway.
Bahamut was curious why they were seperating, but continued watching.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae examined Reb, wondering what she would do. For now, though, she had to find a way to get herself and Bahamut in position behind Kuja without being noticed by Reb. The rider would probably follow as well, and would be friendly towards them, but Solarae wanted to stay on her own, for now.
Bahamut, can you see a way to sneak past Reb on the ground? Or would you prefer to meet with her? she asked her companion, glancing back towards him. She wanted to hurry before they lost Kuja and Selris in the dark tunnels.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb had nothing to lose down here, nothing to fear from this man. He was her equal in strength. She wasn't going to be brushed off. " Why not kill me now?" She whispered, her voice low as the wind, the words almost inaudible. She stared at his back, half hoping he hadn't heard the words, but then again, hoping he did. "Why not kill me now? If your so eager to kill, turn and kill me. Shoot me in the heart, end it." Reb said letting her hands fall to her sides, refusing to fight back.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Just wait, Bahamut stated.
Kuja hesistated as he remained back-turned to Reb. Dammit... shes trying to confront me. To what I want for my ambitions...I would have killed her right here. However, my desires and emotions are hazing my thoughts. I thought I dealt with them when I killed Xaldin for this body. It seems I was wrong. I cannot face her now...I must deal with these "feelings" first.
"Killing you now would be no fun, in such a closed space and a person is willing to give up their life. How boring, besides, I must deal with something else first before I can turn my attention to others."

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae's wings fluttered a little out of rythem in surprise at Reb. She had always known her to be a fierce and brave fighter. Why would she choose not to fight back? Well, if Kuja decided to strike, Solarae would defend Reb. She was determined on that point.
There was no need for Bahamut to tell her to wait, for Solarae was frozen in place, watching for each rider's next move. What is Kuja planning? And Reb for that matter? she wondered, her curiousity immediately taking center stage of her thoughts. She stayed in the shadows, but waited, ready. Kuja might decide to go against his word, though he probably wouldn't.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb let out a tinkling laugh that echoed around the walls, you won't kill me now, or you can't?" Reb asked, suspecting he was having an inner battle like herself. "Because I've never known you to let a fight pass, even because of small space issues. I think your sofenting." Reb taunting, knowing that you couldn't play with fire without getting burned. "Then I'm prepared to get burned." She whispered to herself.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja remained silent as Reb taunted him. He flinched slightly, and turned away. What...? Selris moved his head upward, Kuja... are you..?, Selris felt something was wrong. He could sense regret within his partner. His thoughts were mixed and confused. Selris reviewed what Kuja was thinking about. He could see Kuja talking with Galbatorix. More images flashed as he saw then doing the work of the evil king, doing whatever he asked...despite the jobs being petty. Selris never questioned his partner, but for him to survive by siding with Galbatorix just made his life miserable. He wondered why he never fought against him, Kuja could probably stand up to him but didnt. He never understood why. Selris moved infront of Kuja and lured over Reb. Leave now, or I will deal with you myself dark-walker.
OOC:Darkwalker = Shade in case you were wondering.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae leaned forward, eager to see what would happen, and tensing to fly in case Selris attacked Reb. She wouldn't let anything happen to her ally, and she was prepared to attack.
Suddenly, a cloud of dust fell from the cave ceiling and blanketed Solarae's face. She began to cough in a muffled, choked voice. The small orange dragon stumbled backwards in the air and crashed right into Bahamut, toppling them both over and onto the floor. She was sure she hadn't been seen, especially with the dust blocking the way, but would Kuja think to come and investigate?
All she said on the matter to Bahamut, though, was, Oops.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb heard the warning but she also felt the turmoil burn through Kuja and knew she was wrong on the softening part, he already had. She knew the regret one could feel after killing for so long, even though she did it for the good of others and he did it for himself. She knew that the dragon would keep its threat but she wasn't truly afraid, she had the force of Star Gazer and all of her dragons family's power. She could survive down here if she wanted to.
A billowing dust cloud caught Reb's attention, and as she stretched her senses she caught the feel of her friends close, too close. If the other dragon would reach out with his sense of smell he could have caught their sent, but she refused to give him the chance. " I'm not afraid of you. I can survive if I wish whether or not you try to kill me." Reb said without boasting, stating the cold hard fact of what she was. " But I want to listen to your story Kuja. It could be enlighten me to your situation." She whispered in a soft, kind voice.

Selris growled at Reb, but remained where he was.
Kuja still feeling strange around Reb, remained facing away from her. He managed to say, "There is no story to tell, Selris and I do what is necessary to survive...even if means serving Galbatorix. If we werent, just like the rest of the riders we would be hunted for the rest of our days. Even if I turned on him now, Selris and I would only have each other then... I have done things to the outside world...so we would be rejected. No.. it is too late.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae laughed a little nervously when she felt Reb's consciousness brush hers. Uh oh... she know's I'm here... I am no longer covert, darn it! she thought. Solarae crept forward again, still listening to the tense conversation between Reb and Kuja. It seemed like it could erupt into a fight at the slightest provocation.
Solarae growled low when Kuja spoke again. He's such an idiot! I've been surviving just fine for over 100 years opposed to Galbatorix, so why can't he?! Coward! I could show him a place where he could hide and literally never be found again! Instead, he's sitting here serving some egg-breaker because he thinks it's the only way to survive! Ugh! Solarae exclaimed mentally, letting her thoughts slide over to Bahamut in case he had any input on the matter.

Reb knew this private conversation was being listened to, and instantly shielded their words/thoughts from those spying on them. "Oh really? I am a murderer, I am the spawn of many evil souls, but one good one has redeemed me. I fight to live and am respected for that. If you turn your back now, and prove your regard for the good in this world, you can fit in. You can be forgiven." Reb said, taking a few steps towards Kuja, her hand out stretched in friendship. "You are not alone. Fight back, don't let it win." She whispered, her eyes watering.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja remained silent and stared at Reb's extended hand. He slowly moved his head looking at Selris. The great silver dragon remained motionless, he seemed to have no objection whatever his rider did. He faced Reb once more with his blank eyes. He stood there for a very long time in pondered silence. Reb may have killed, but Kuja has slaghtered thousands in the long years. Everyone he has vanquised seemed to flash before his eyes, screams ringing in his ears. He closed his eyes and head tilted down slightly. Finally he stirred and slowly reached out his arm, hesitantly grabbed Reb's hand. He felt a slight lurch inside of him, but hid it. He never really had the time to feel the touch of a woman, yet alone some one of his race. After a few moments he lazily let go of her hand. His head was slightly dizzy for some reason so he leaned against the wall and thought about his decision.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't expected Kuja to accept the offer. Did this mean he was ready to renounce his evil? Would he join their side? Or was this some trick?
And, perhaps more importantly, was it time for Solarae to announce herself? She grinned. Definately. She wanted to see where this would go, Kuja or no Kuja, and if he turned against Reb she wanted to be close by. Solarae had lightning fast reactions, which could save any one of them from danger.
Alrighty, Bahamut. You can keep slinking around if you want to, but that's really not my style. At least, not in this case, she grinned. She had some "ninja" moves alright, but she wasn't really in that kind of mood at the moment. I'm gonna go say hi, she said happily.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb smiled inside, a happiness unknown to her spread through out her chest. He had accepted her hand, there fore accepting her help, or at least that is what it meant to her. She moved towards him, her hands going to the sides of his face, easing the dizziness in his mind so he could think clearly, then she moved away to watch him, waiting for him to say something else. She knew how many he had killed, knew the rumors about him were undoubtably true for the most part, but she didn't care. He was a being that deserved a second chance, no matter what his previous sins were. OOC: short

OOC: Sorry, was preoccupied. Just re-read all the books... just to look for some inspiration for RPing. I havent been active as I used to be. Mostly on the fact most of the people I RP with have been inactive as well. It's hard to join new RPs with the newer users.
Bahamut became interested in the recent events. He was still unsure however if he and Solarae should just reveal themselves so freely. Kuja felt odd after Reb cupped his face. He sighed and put it out of his mind. Selris was concerned, his rider was giving off mixed emotions. However he felt that it was best to leave him be for now. Kuja leaned upward from the wall and looked at Reb. Not sure what else to say he stated, "Well.. what now..?"

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
OOC: Yeah, I know. I've been gone from Saturday to Tuesday. IC: Solarae held back for a moment. She could feel Bahamut's reluctance, and though she was eager to get more involved, she didn't want to put him in potential danger. She wouldn't give him away, of course, but Kuja or Selris could guess that someone else had been there. Solarae didn't trust them. She hoped they would prove themselves in their favor, but she didn't want to put too much on faith.
Solarae decided in the end that waiting a little longer wouldn't hurt. She kept herself from going around the corner, and instead waited to see what Kuja and Reb would agree to do.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb smiled sweetly at Kuja, " I believe our next move is to get out of here and for me to take you to meet my dragon, she will trust you because I trust you." Reb said reassuringly, she held out her hand, opting for friendship. "Do you trust me?" Reb asked innocently, hoping he would make the move to take her hand, reach out with the friendship she was blindly trusting him with. She wanted to believe he could be redeemed, she would fight for that 'till the end of her days. She smiled at him, and turned towards the exit.

Before Kuja could answer the question, Reb turned to leave. I guess I have to he thought to himself. He turned to Selris for a moment who seemed indifferent. The both followed Reb out. OOC: Pass

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae edged forward, curiously watching Kuja as Reb extended her hand. He seemed uncertain, but willing. Selris didn't seem to care much. Hmph. Don't much care for that dragon, Solarae thought with annoyance. Slowly, Kuja began to follow the other rider away, and towards the tunnel exit.
Hey! How are we supposed to find out what's going on down here now?! Solarae thought indignantly. She frowned and turned to Bahamut. Want to keep following them, even though they're headed out, or do you want to keep exploring this place? There is a chance that they'll come back down here, she said, letting Bahamut make the decision. She was curious about the things in the catacombs, but she wanted to see where Kuja and Reb were headed. And she knew that they would probably go back down anyway.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb looked over her shoulder and smiled at Kuja when she saw he was following her. That was good, what was bad was that she had no idea how to get out. "This could be a problem." She muttered. She stopped for fear of getting lost and crossed her arms over her chest. "Do you know the way out?" She asked Kuja. OOC: Pass post.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja thought for a moment. "We can use the way Selris and I came in. Come." Kuja turned and went around Selris. The silver-white dragon spun around and trampled after his partner. After about a half an hour of following certain hallways, the group came upon a shaft leading outside. Moonlinght pooled down it and a small breeze breathed in. OOC short

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae watched as Kuja, Selris, and Reb left through the tunnels to find a way out. Shrugging, she began to follow them. She darted from shadow to shadow, still not wanting to be discovered. In her experience, on missions like these, the longer one stayed hidden, the better. Something could go very wrong if she revealed herself. She wondered if Reb still knew that she was following them.
Solarae scented the fresh air from outside pouring into the tunnels. Rounding a corner, she saw the light from the moon coming in. Reb, Kuja, and Selris were just exiting.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb smiled at Kuja and spun around in the moonlight, thankful to be able to get a waft of fresh air instead of the stale air that populates the tunnels. " Thank you, and no it is my turn to lead you to Star Gazer." Reb said and then began to climb out of the tunnels. It was slow going because she didn't have Star Gazer to help her out, but she finally made it to the top and stood waiting for Kuja and Selris to emerge. "Are you alright with meeting her?" Reb asked him, worried that he might not wish to meet Star Gazer.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
After emerging from the tunnel's entrance, Kuja tilted his head slightly at her question. "I am fine with it, although Selris seems more interested than I am." It wasnt about seeing another dragon, the fact the dragon was female had intregued him. Kuja crossed his arms and waited patiently for Reb.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae followed them up and out of the tunnels, keeping a neat distance. She found it easier to slink between shadows on the surface. There were a lot more things to hide behind, and a lot more going on to distract Kuja and Selris. She paced along the street behind them, darting behind a pile of crates, and then into the shadows thrown up by a wall.
Solarae decided that if Kuja and Selris behaved positively after meeting Star Gazer, she would show herself. It wasn't like she would be a threat after meeting the dragon Queen, but she would still have enough of the element of surprise to deal some major damage in case of a fight. She caught the scent of another new dragon, and realized they must be getting closer.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb grabbed Kuja's hand and led him far from the tunnels. "Star Gazer I have need of you! I have two friends I would like you to meet, do not kill them when you see who they are." Reb added, knowing Star Gazer would always talk before she acted.
"Meet me in the trees little one, I never left you, I know who it is you bring to me." Star Gazer commanded in Reb's mind. Reb turned and led Kuja into the tree line, avoiding other people as she went. The map to Star Gazer's location was implanted in her mind and she found her with ease.
As they came upon her dragoness, she smiled at Star. " Kuja, Selris meet the dragon Queen, Star Gazer, mate to Faefnir." Reb announced and then let go of Kuja's hand and stepped up to Star Gazer's side, waiting for them to act, and or say something. "A pleasure to meet you." Star Gazer said inclining her head as a show of respect.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja felt a little awkward how sitations were changing. He merely inclined his head in reply. He probably should have said something but he was reluctant to. Selris remained still with his head slightly raised. He was only slightly larger than Star but he could imagine she was quite powerful. Kuja could notice what Selris was doing. Something wrong? No.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae crept forward. She noticed Star Gazer's relatively familiar scent, and soon saw her shape appear amongst the dark trees. The small orange dragoness stayed low to the ground as she moved between them, perfectly at home amongst these shadows as she had been in the streets.
Solarae found what looked to be a good perch and clambered up into a large tree. She climbed as high as she could and then sat comfortably on the branch, watching the meeting going on not far away. After they had met she would reveal herself, but she wanted to be sure of their reaction to Star first.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Star Gazer realized that the other dragon wasn't showing any reaction to her. Star Gazer smiled, a showing of her sharp pointy teeth, letting him know that she wasn't a push over and if forced to she would fight for her life and the life of her rider. She tilted her head sidways as she examined him.
Reb watched Star Gazer, hearing the echo of her thoughts. She laughed aloud as she heard the bit about being a push over. " Soooooooooooo." She stressed, trying to get someone to talk. She nudged Star Gazer but Star refused to move an inch, and also refused to say a word. OOC: Pass post.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Kuja sighed slightly and leaned against Selris. "It would be best if we didnt linger here much longer. Galbatorix will take notice of my prolonged absence and probably send that brat Murtagh to look for me." Kuja was glancing over at Reb...he was so spaced out that he let his eyes wander about her. Selris shook his body slightly to snap him out of it. Kuja realized what he was doing and turned away.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae clung to the tree branch, watching everything happen. She began to grow more and more frustrated when nothing did. Finally, she simply became too impatient.
Solarae jumped from the tree limb and onto the ground in between and to the side of Reb and Kuja. She landed neatly on all four limbs with her wings flared slightly after her long leap. Well, I can see you guys are having fun, but let's try to add some action. I am Solarae, to you two, and I'm just here for the fun. What were you up to in those tunnels, Kuja? she said with a huge grin, her wicked canine teeth gleaming innocently.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Reb whirled towards her friend, and smiled tightly. " We were up to nothing but meeting friendly buissiness." Reb said trying to let her friend know that telling Kuja she was spying wouldn't start this conversation up right.
Star Gazer shook herself and unfurled her wings, letting the wind catch the bottom of them and lift her slightly off the ground. "Are we going?" She inquired of her rider and her friends. OOC: pass post.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Sorry, for some reason this one keeps slipping my mind.
Kuja shrugged slightly, somewhat ignoring the small dragon's question. He climbed onto Selris and then looked at Reb. "So where are we going?" Selris looked at the rather dwarfed dragon then turned away after losing interest.

Re: Something Inside a Hollow Shell
Solarae laughed, not at all dismayed at having her question ignored. You can ignore it, Kuja, but I know you were up to something, she said laungingly into his mind. She grinned at Reb and Star. Well, it's nice to see you guys. And I'm kinda confused to. Where would we be off to? she, like Kuja, questioned. She flapped into the air and dashed up to the same level as Star's head, waiting to hear their destination.
