Yeah, it was too rushed, and Katara was more out of character than necessary. And even though what Aang said ended up helping her, he got ignored. Zuko, who really didn't need to be there, got all the credit.

Yeah, "umbrella" was the first fanfic prompt for Kataang Week. The second was "smoke and mirrors," third "heartbeat," fourth "butterfly/ies," fifth "mine." I don't know if anyone has written the sixth yet.

Notice no one's really mentioning TPK? All it really did was lead into the finale. Not that it was bad, but it didn't stand out.

Katara and Zuko were both out of character. And really, Zuko didn't actually do anything to gain forgiveness. He was kind of just along for the ride.

The whole finale was just amazing. Although, I wish the Gaang would've fought Ozai together, and Aang actually interacted with the Gaang in more than TPK and the end of Avatar Aang.

When Aang went off to think, Katara was out of character. I don't think she would've let Zuko stop her, she would've talked to him... I guess M&B wanted Aang to disappear, and that wouldn't have been possible if Katara was with him... unless she went with him to the Lion Turtle. That would make an interesting fanfic...

That doesn't mean I'd not prefer it with Katara. Seriously, besides the kiss, there was no Kataang in the finale. If all someone saw was the finale, they'd think Zutara would easily happen.

I think it'll be okay. Most of my favorite authors updated something on ff.net. That must be a sign it's okay.

Kataang caused the whole Earth Kingdom to fall to the Fire Nation. it's one of the main arcs of the show that was mentioned every other episode for the first two seasons. Yet it basically got shunted aside for the finale. Maybe it's the shipper in me talking, but that doesn't seem right.

Yes, I agree. There was a definite lack of Kataang in that finale. At least some encouraging words from Katara to Aang in TPK. All she did was offer him coconut juice or whatever. And why did Zuko have to stop her from talking to Aang?

@Aang: Well, yes, it was Aang's destiny, but even a little help from the Gaang would've been nice. At least before the battle. I mean, in The Old Masters when they were all there at the camp with the WLS, I really felt that Aang should've been there with them. And I was kind of against Katara fighting alongside Zuko in the final battle...

Maybe they didn't, but like I said, it's not just Kataang, Aang was barely with the Gaang throughout the whole finale.

It would. It would have been nice if Aang interacted with more than a turtle and Ozai in the finale. (Technically, his past lives were him, so they don't count.)

I think it's because now that the high has worn off, we can look at the episodes like we would other ones, and actually find things we don't like.

But the last contact Aang and Katara had (that we saw) was yelling at each other, fighting. You don't go from that to making out. We missed something. Aang suddenly got authentic Air Nomad robes. We missed something. What Mai was doing the whole time.... you get the idea.
