Raz'acks are foul beast, and can't use magic. Shades are possessed humans, that can use magic. Also, the whole purpose of the Raza'ck race is to hunt humans.

wait... theres more info about the razac... here it is... a razac cant live on its on when he/she doesnt become full razacs yet and the mother/father of a razac arent called razacs i forgot their names but those are the ones the razac leans on or flies on... shades are really ONLY possesed human beings so we really dont know if theyre are good or bad. Durza was i think good when he wasnt still possesed but i think that it was the human's choice to become a shade. Shades can use magic and extremely powerful. like if ur just an ordinary person you wouldnt last a minute with one...

The mother and father of the ra'zac are the lethrblaka,(leather flappers) as mentioned in Eldest.

Flying throughout the darkest of night,
Seeing their wounderous bodies soar through the skies,
Searching for a kill with their blood red eyes,
You better hope the dragon has eaten,
He'll fight to the death untill you are beaten,
When daylight breaks he'll fly home to his den,
But beware for nightfall shall come again

well, shades are sorcerors possesed by evil spirits, while raz'ac are the pupae of the lethrbalka. the raz'ac were made to hunt dragon riders while shades have a wider range of victims.

You are most like BROM

You are indeed wise and experienced! You may encounter foes along your path and you are definitely brave enough to face them. However, you are wise enough to know when you can avoid a fight and save your energy. Your keen ability to think on your feet, resourcefulness, and ability to make allies are skills invaluable in any conflict.

Raz'zac can't do magic, and Shades are humans who can do magic but decide to take in spirits, which are usually overpowered by those same spirits!

fyi this is a post without reading anyone elses so if i say stuff already said..

Ra'zac:are basically big bug bird pupae things the are designed to hunt humans and are strong where they are weak, tey can not use magic and their steeds are there parents, after 20 years of pupae they molt into full fledged adults
Shades: Shades are powerfull beings that are created when a sorcerer summons spirits that are stronger then the sorcerer they take over his body, he then pretty much becomes as powerfull as an elf if not more, they are abe to reak havioc of great intensity without loosing much energy,
the only way to kill a shade is by a stab to the heart

Okay because I have a feeling this section may die you can still answer the original question if you like but if you HAD to choose between the two which would you rather become?
Personally I would choose a shade I'm not all for looking like a Ra'zac lol those things are really ugly! But I don't favor the Dark side but between those that is my choice.

Who cares? And it's interesting poll btw so why we can't change the toppic since the old on is already dead.

Personaly I don't see much diference between agressive birde and possessed mad man but since I'm not human eating type of person I'd prefer Shade over razzac 8)
