Laurina was hot and thirsty. So very thirsty.
She had been out in the desert for a week now she had not taken nearly enough water. She had run out 2 days ago. Her skin was covered with dust and her lips cracked and bleeding. She was tired, but she wouldn't stop. She wouldn't give in. She had not seen an sign of life for 3 days now. No wonder, no sane creature would travel out in this heat. She thought she heard somthing, her hand shot down to the sword at her side, the sword she had stolen from a caravan of travelling show people. She felt bad but... she was sure they wouldnt miss it. She looked up to see what she had heard, but it was just a vulture stirring about, leering at her. Sorry buddy, look somewhere else for your lunch she thought silently to herself. She tripped over a rock sticking up out of the ground and cursed under her breath, but continued walking.

It was then she noticed it. In the haze ahead of her, there was a dark shadow of something or someone. And this time, she knew it wasn't a vulture. Not wanting to be too careful she looked around for some cover. She saw a large boulder with some large weeds growing next to it. She ran toward it and hid beneath the weeds, pulling them over her face. She lay her face against the ground which was cool from the shade and waited until she finally heard footsteps comming close. Laurina held her breath waiting to see who... or what it was.

Faefnir was taking a short stroll in the desert, just making sure everything looked ok. Why am I checking this place? This is a land of sand and stone, nothing ever changes. sigh. At least its easy to hide here, otherwise I would be captured and destroyed by now. Curse that Galbatorix and his accursed Shruikan. Suddenly, he caught something in the desert. The figure of a human, bearing a sword. He became curious despite his age. He casually walked over there, folding his wings in so he didn't look quite as menacing. As he came close to the brush, he noticed that the figure was a female. She looked very thirsty and appeared to be on the run for a few days. he gently pulled on the girls shirt so he could see her easily, despite her frantic squirming. Be at peace, travel-worn stranger. I am Faefnir, oldest and most powerful of all dragonkind. This is my dominion. And who might you be and where do you come from?

OOC: mind if i jump in?

"What do you see?" thought Rabscuttle.
"Sand, sand, stone, dragon, sand, female, nothing interesting." replied Skarlath with his usual dry sarcasm.
Rabscuttle chuckled quietly to himself. "Nothing interesting you say? Hmm, theres nothing between here and where my home used to be, so if theres anything, it has to be interesting" he muttered to himself. Rolling up from where he had lain resting, he briefly concentrated. As he concentrated, a small blue light appeared in the palm of his hand. After a second, the light quickly traced the outline of a sword, then expanded into a sword shaped light. After a further short pause, the blue light faded, revealing an actual sword in Rabscuttle's hand. He stood and stretched, brushing the sand off himself, and began to walk towards where he felt two presences, one small, the other large. In a flutter of gold and black feathers, Skarlath landed on his shoulder.
"So what is really there?" asked Rabscuttle.
"Exactly what i told you."
"Let me see."
Looking through Skarlath's eyes, Rabscuttle could see a female, next to whom a dragon crouched.
"A dragon!" exclaimed Rabscuttle, "better be prepared...."
As he continued to walk towards the pair, the blue light came back, this time depositing a shield in his left hand.

"Hmmm, thats quite strange, this dragon seems to think that im also a dragon...." said Skarlath "he also says that we can join him to go to his cave, as well as that they mean us no harm."
Chuckling, Rabscuttle contacted the gigantic golden dragon. "Great one, I fear that i am not a rider, and my companion is actually an eagle..."
The dragon was visibly startled by this, unusual for a being of such obvious age. Continuing on, Rabscuttle fell in beside the dragon and stored his sword and shield back where he took them from. There was an agitated human woman on the dragons back, obviously suffering from the desert's cruel heat. Rabscuttle took an empty waterskin he had and gestured at it.
"Adurna."
The waterskin filled with water, and without a word, Rabscuttle tossed it to the human.

OOC: lol, you shoulda read my bio first.

Faefnir was absolutely stunned. Clearly the girl's judgement was flawed from dehydration and starvation. He almost lost his temper, but he quickly thought of something far less drastic. After she was done gulping down the waterskin, he spoke to her again. Laurina, your speaking folly. I just saved your life from those two Urgals. My home offers you shelter from the heat, water to drink, wine to enjoy, and lot's of meat and fruit to fill your empty stomach. Now come with us so we at least know of your dilemma. He lowered his body so she could climb onto his back.

After waving off the girl's thanks, Rabbscuttle waited while she and the dragon seemingly had a silent conversation.
"Do you think we should go with them?" Skarlath's voice echoed in his head.
"I think they're trustworthy...we just have to be carefull." he replied.
As the girl clambered up onto the dragon's back, Rabbscuttle walked to within a few yards of the dragon.
"My name is Rabbscuttle. My eagle companion is Skarlath. May i inquire as to where we are going?"

OOC: gotta go now, see yall

OOC: oops sorry. i was thinking about another topic. i'll see if i can work around it without really affecting the current rp when you take your turn.

"First of all, giving someone water in the desert is one of the most trustworthy things you can do. Second of all, no dragon outside the Forsworn would harm an innocent if they didnt threaten them. Thirdly, I dont think that eating you would be much of a meal to a dragon the size of him." Rabscuttle replied. He could see that the girl had a point, but even he was begining to become frustrated. Worse than that, he could see that the dragon too was close to losing his temper. But before he could intervene, Skarlath flew off his shoulder and landed on the dragon's back, right in front of the girl.
"You shouldnt refuse help when you dont know how to survive in the desert" he thought, broadcasting his thoughts for everyone to hear.

OOC: okay, have yall read my bio? so yall know im half shade, half elf?
ps. have your characters introduce themselves. that way i can stop calling them "girl" and "dragon".......lol

Faefnir stared at the girl. He was beginning to lose his temper, but many years of living alone except for the Stag taught him how to control it effectively. Suddenly, he had an idea. My lady, he speaks the truth. I couldn't harm you even if I wanted to. You have shown no aggression towards me or my friends. And if you think I'm just trying to lure to my lair so I can eat you, I suggest you look towards the north. Then Faefnir called out the White Stag. He came with great speed and was there almost instantly. Faefnir greeted the Stag, then focused his attention to the stranger again. If I sought to eat everything that I saw, then why is a very healthy deer standing right next to me and not fleeing, hmmm? He strongly hoped the Stag's presence would coax the girl to think rationally and come with them.
OOC: I shall. Just be patient and let the RPG play itself out.

"I accept your apolegy," said Rabscuttle, taking the water skin back. "As i said earlier, my name is Rabscuttle, and the eagle is Skarlath."
"Greetings, Laurina."
After Skarlath spoke, both Rabscuttle and Laurina turned to face the dragon.
"And what is your name?" asked Rabscuttle.

OOC: Perfect for my entrance. I'm joining this kay?
IC: The wind rushed past her face, she enjoyed flying with her dragon more than anything else. The dragon's eyes caught sight of a great golden dragon. Thinking that it was just a mirage, she asked her rider, "Eriel, can you see anything?" The elf strained her eyes, "I see a gigantic dragon, a human, most likely female, an eagle and oh, what's this?? A shade, no an elf! wait... I think it's a half-shade,half-elf." She had barely finished this when the dragon flew past her. " Woah, that guy's at least three times as big as me! I wanna follow him!" "Emrhyst, we don't know if he's-woah! Emrhyst slow down!" She was too late though, the dragon had spotted her and was flying in her direction. She quickly nocked her bow.

Noticing a blur of motion high above him, Rabscuttle turned towards the east, where he saw another dragon streaking towards them.
"Laurina! Faefnir! We have a visitor!" shouted Rabscuttle, at the same time forming his bow and nocking an arrow from the quiver at his back. He also began to concentrate on his magic, prepared to use it if things worsened.
OOC: i might not be on for the rest of the day so, just keep going

OOC: Are you running on the ground, or are you flying??

OOC: we are on the ground.
Faefnir saw the figure coming at them, then turned to face the oncoming stranger. Then he saw the two figures. Eriel! Emrhyst! Lovely seeing you again! What brings you to these parts? We were just returning to my lair so this girl, Laurina, could recover. She's been out here for days and is near death. Would you like to join us?

OOC: erm, i cant think of anything that i could actually do until yall land......Eriel, take your turn

Faefnir noticed the change in pressure of Laurina's grip. You must not worry yourself. Relax your grip. You are perfectly safe with me. He turned to face the new dragon and Rider that had appeared.

OOC: i was talking about Eriel.......i know we're on the ground

OOC: o, sorry. Eriel is gone for a few days. he asked me in the Empire forum, The Coliseum, to take over for him in the rps we are together in. So i'll take my and his turn.

-Eriel and Emrhyst flew swiftly towards them. He had been wandering the desert for several days and his water stores were almost empty. Emrhyst, are you sure we can find Faefnir? I don't think he is here right now. I mean, he is a very busy dragon and very important to his people. Emrhyst looked at him almost with surprise. Eriel, you doubt in my abilities? Faefnir is here, I can feel him. Eriel drew back with surprise from this comment. Well, of course I don't. But I mean, if Faefnir were here, we would have seen him by... Eriel's sharp eyes caught something on the horizon. Something very large. And winged. And golden. With a girl on his back. Faefnir? Emrhyst couldn't smile, but her feelings were quite clear. Eriel was almost ashamed that he didn't believe in her. Emrhyst gained speed quickly, anxious to see Faefnir again.

-Faefnir looked at the oncoming dragon and Rider then suddenly realized who it was. Emrhyst, Eriel! What brings you two out here? I thought you were doing something with Urgals. Then he looked at the eagle and humanoid standing next to him. Eriel, this is Rabscuttle and Skarblath{sp}. We just met them and we were heading back to my lair. O, and the girl on my back is Laurina. She's been out here for several days and would have died if myself and Rabscuttle hadn't appeared. But tell me, what brings you two out here in such a rush?

OOC: well.......nor me or valk can say anything yet since this is a mental conversation.........by the way, im still aiming my bow at Eriel >D

Faefnir looked at Rabscuttle, then stood in front of him. Rabscuttle, you don't need to point that thing at Emrhyst here. We have known each other for years now and have become good friends. Eriel, we would love it if you would join us. Then then beckoned to the group with a shake of his head, then continued walking towards the lair.
